This device apparently is working as intended, the best I can tell. Files and folders are showing as backed up, either by dragging and dropping or automatically. But instructions and user guides are sparse, and technical support is nowhere near adequate. I have emailed several questions to Seagate several times, and have had only a couple of questions clearly answered. The instructions for one problem — an error message saying that I needed to “unmount the drive and proceed with the security request” — were to reinstall the software. I tried that, and it didn’t work. I still don’t know exactly what that error message means, and why it reoccurs. In our last email exchange, the support rep said to let him know if I needed a “call back” for more help. I replied that I would like that, and provided a phone number. I’ve heard nothing since then. If I had known how confusing this product would be to use, and how little support there would be, I would not have bought it. Although it appears to be working, I can’t be sure if it is working as it should.

Not Sure how you can, with a straight face, call this a USB C drive. I bought this drive specifically because of that only to find out that it is USB C with an adapter.... Thanks but no thanks.
