Impressive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Shark Mess Master portable vaccum cleaner is small in size but is a winner in performance. Able to work as a wet vac as well as a standard vaccum it excels in both categories. Fitted with onboard tools and the ability to buy additional tools this vaccum can attack any mess. Supplied with a crevice tool and a squeege tool as well as a standard fitting you can vaccum on any surface with ease. It is an ideal vaccum for car use because of its portability. However, it isn't just for cars. I have used it in my workshop as well as in my house. The "dust bin" can be outfitted with a bag to make emptying easy, but with the Shark versatility it isn't necessary. It is simply there to give you an option, bagged versus no bag. Because Shark means quality and great customer service there are a few waste bags packed with the product. You can simply vaccum into the bin and then detach to empty. The bag can also be used for wet pick up. The vaccum suction is very impressive and not limiting because of its size.Shark refers to it as 'no loss suction technology'. All I know is that suction is very strong and that is extremely important in evaluating any vaccum. I was impressed with its ability to pick up waste with ease. The attached cord is plenty to get around in order to clean. The hose smartly attaches to the canister body. There are 3 extension tubes to save your back and let you vaccum in a standing position. The vaccum is easy to carry. It has self cleaning ability. Shark says vacuum a cup of warm water to clean it then empty the dust canister. The canister is dishwasher safe too. The build quality is what you come to expect from Shark. I am certan I will get many years of use from it. I have used it several times and I'm happy to own it.

Intelligently designed, powerful little Do-it-All.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark really keeps innovating every space they enter with every new product they release. This new MessMaster, a small, portable wet/dry vac that’s capable of cleaning itself, is the latest example of that innovation. You can add this to the quickly growing list of amazing Shark products to own around your home, office or business. The MessMaster came very well packaged in easy to recycle cardboard and a few large plastic bags to keep dust off of the unit and parts. Unpacking everything was a breeze. To help you, Shark added an easy to follow, 6-step, Quick Start guide, printed onto the inner lid flap of the box. Getting started is just a matter of clicking some parts together. Attach the hose to the main unit, connect the accessory holder, decide if you want to use a bag or not, depending on the mess, and plug it in. I’ve only had it a few weeks now, but I’ve been able to use it quite a bit and am really impressed with the job it performs. The suction is super strong and there is a range of tools included, each one designed for a different task, and they all work great. All of the included tools are dishwasher safe. The Squeegee tool really does a great job of gripping the surface while vacuuming up the fluid without pushing it around. The Crevice tool is the perfect size to reach tight nooks and crannies around the house that tend to gather dust and hairballs. The Carpet tool does a good job of grabbing the carpet, while allowing air to flow in and around the tool which makes it easier to push and pull over the carpet while you’re using it. As a tall person, I’m glad they included three extension wand sections so that I don’t have to bend over when cleaning up a mess on the floor. The instruction manual mentions two other tools that are not included, the Bare Floor tool and the Pet Multi-Tool. Both of those tools are for dry debris only and neither of them are dishwasher safe like the others. The vacuum is very lightweight and easily held while cleaning. The cord is more than long enough to reach from one outlet to the next and is the perfect length for moving around the garage and car while cleaning. I love all of the innovative features Shark included with this new wet/dry vac. I really like being able to choose if I want to use a bag or not, depending on the mess. I also love that if I do want to use a bag, it can be any bag that fits, including the standard grocery sack, as long as it doesn’t have holes. Actually, I’d probably only use the grocery sack for dry debris, since they usually have small holes and aren't made for transporting liquid. However there are many other low cost options that can be used for wet vac messes. Another cool feature is being able to vacuum up water to flush the system and rinse the vacuum out, even after a dry mess. All you have to do is empty the dry debris from the Dust Cup, return the Dust Cup and vacuum up approximately 10 oz. of water to flush the system. From there you dump the water and repeat if needed. The innovation doesn’t stop there. Shark was sure to include a Hose Storage Hook, that allows you to wrap the hose around the lid and hook it into place for easy storage. Same thing with the power cord, just wrap it around the handle and clip into place using the head of the cord. The Accessory Holder gives you room to attach two of the cleaning tools and one tool can fit inside the dustbin. That leaves you with the three piece Extension Wand that can be stored near the main unit. If you haven’t tried a Shark product yet, this is a great place to start. And if you have, you’re already familiar with the quality of this brand. I love everything about this new wet/dry vac from Shark and I highly recommend it to anyone needing a vacuum that can clean both wet and dry messes, is easily cleaned itself, is extremely versatile and portable.

Shark Masters the Portable Wet / Dry Vac
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark MessMaster is a portable wet / dry vac with a surprising amount of suction and functionality for a vac of this size. Over the last three weeks, I have vacuumed up several messes. The MessMaster even helped me clean up and sell a car. Throughout my testing, I have been impressed with its light weight, suction power, accessories, and the ease of cleaning it up. The Shark MessMaster has managed every challenge I have thrown at it, and I strongly recommend it. I appreciate that many of the components are dishwasher safe. Shark included three or four 4-gallon trash bags. That is the ideal size. Using the bags does make cleanup a bit easier, but it is not necessary. Running water through the vacuum a few times helped me clean up any stubborn dust or debris. The crevice tool and the extension wand worked well hard to reach places. If I had any nitpicks, I wish there were more storage for attachments and extension wands. Also, the power cord seems a bit short to me. I have had to get out the extension cords every time I have used it because many of the messes were not near an outlet. Still, those are truly nitpicks and do not stop me from recommending the Shark MessMaster. It is a very capable, portable, and easily cleanable wet / dry vac. It is already proven its usefulness to me, and I am sure I will be using it for years to come.

I Absolutely Love Using This Vaccum!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark has done it, they have made the best friend a car detailer could ever have when it comes to easy fo use and portable shop vaccums. I have been using the Shark MessMaster Portable Shop-Vac for over 3 weeks straight and love using it more every time. For its size, this little thing does work and does it very well. Powerful, that is what the Shark MessMaster is, the sucking power it has for its size is well more thany 3.5 hp big name brand 5 gallon shop vac. The way I can get all the small crevices clean now without removing seats is a HUGE time saver. With my large shop vac, i had to make a special crevice tool with multiple size hoses duct taped together and a small vaccum spout I found at a garage sale. I never had the money to buy an expensive vaccum as I detail on the side, it help pay the bills, and Shark is helping me do better work and faster. The best thing is the bag system, so much easier to clean. I bought a 200 box of small clear garbage bags for $15, which is so much easier to justify tossinv out a bag that cost pennies rather than waste tons of time cleaning the vaccum after each detail. I cannot say enough good about this vaccum, it stays clean, no filter to remove before water. The filter system on this is super easy to clean but I can say after 16 cars and 2 pellet stoves, the filters are bare even dusty. The hose reaches far and the included attachments work great, seats, couches, and chairs are no match for the might of the Shark. If I had to pick one thing Shark could have done better would be a way to store the extensions on the vaccum, other than that, the unit is flawless im my eyes. Hats off to Shark for a solid product!

Big things in a small package
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.More then happy with my purchase of the Shark MessMaster shop vac. I particularly enjoy it's unique ability to use any plastic bag as a trash bag, and it makes throwing out your debris a breeze. It's surprisingly light, and has strong suction for it's size, making it an ideal choice to clean hard to reach areas and vehicles.

Please read my review.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the whole concept of this wet/dry vacuum. I got it primarily for my cars but could see this in the basement on cobweb duty, etc. since it is so portable. I am impressed by the surprisingly powerful suction and how well thought out the engineering is of this machine. My only beef would be that a simple brush attachment was not part of the package (I have an ancient Oreck with attachments that worked with a bit of modification). Anyway, a good deal IMHO.

Nice little cleaner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Suction is great! It's great at cleaning the spider webs in my basement. Haven't used it on water yet. Picks up kitty litter without the foul smell left in my upright vacuum. The small size makes it easy to carry from house to car or up & down steps. All the accessories included for $99 is an awesome deal. Only thing i don't like is having to pick it up to carry around to vacuum. It has no wheels. Because it's small it makes sense not to have wheels but if you're elderly or have mobility issues this may be a hindrance.

Vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great suction, easy to carry around house and clean the hard to reach areas like the fridge, dryer,. Stove, etc. Also nice to use in the car. Only thing is if the canister part tips over while vacuuming it makes a loud noise because it's clogged. Just open and close, then the noise goes away. Lastly not great at picking up lots of fine dust from sanding the drywall. Other than that I still recommend and give high reviews

This thing is amazing
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can’t say I have ever left a review on a vacuum cleaner much less a small shop vac. This thing packs a punch, I don’t even use my 5 gallon shop vac. It comes with several attachements, my favorite being the squeegie / wet attachment. I have found the ultimate cheat code for cleaning windows, spray down with window cleaner and use wet attachement to vacuum it up. No more wax on wax off .

So good for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is so portable and easy to use, it’s amazing. The suction is awesome. I use this vacuum all the time around the house, inside and out. Easy to clean! Easy to store. Wish it came with the hard floor attachment but the attachments it does come with have worked really well. I am impressed. Worth the purchase price for sure!

Strong But two major flaws.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a powerful little vacuum. It offers something other extractor don't really offer, and that is a rubberized crevice tool for sucking up fluids out of both carpet and hard surfaces. I was able to simply shampoo my car carpet after my dog vomited on it by applying soap and manually scrubbing, and then sucking all of the water out with this bad boy. It did a great job cleaning. Now onto why this isn't a perfect 5 star item. There are two major flaws that I cannot forgive. Flaw #1 that registers as a dealbreaker for me is that the float system is not perfect -- water WILL break past to the pre-motor filters. There are two premotor filters -- one sponge-like filter that absorbs a decent amount of fluid, and a cloth like filter right after it. Just as advertised, I basically sucked in soapy water after doing a cleaning of dog vomit to wash out the hose. It stopped when the float got triggered, and I took everything apart to wash and flush. To my dismay, the sponge premotor filter was soaked. Nothing in the instruction manuals warn of this, and had I not noticed, it'd probably have rotted of vomit water the next time I used it (or even worse, gotten into the motor). A float is supposed to be designed to cut off suction and prevent fluids from reaching the motor chamber, and this is unacceptable. You can get away with washing the hose by removing it though, so this is completely avoidable. Just not a fan that the advertised cleaning method is not feasible. The design flaw #2 is that the short hose comes right out of the same side of the exhaust fan. That means if you're vacuuming something up, you're also blowing air right at the same direction. Speak about irony. It wouldn't be a huge deal if the hose was longer, but it is way too short and unfortunately always going to be an issue. These two flaws make the product hard to recommend; however, they might not be dealbreakers for you. Just be very aware of these design issues and be sure to take the sponge filter out after each session of wet vacuuming.

An Essential Shop Vac..
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark MessMaster Portable Wet/Dry Vacuum has been an absolute game-changer for my cleaning regimen. Its compact design belies a powerful suction capability that's on par with much larger shop vacs, easily tackling both wet and dry messes without a hitch. The 1-gallon capacity strikes the right balance between being lightweight and sufficiently spacious to avoid constant emptying. Plus, the included Pet Multi-Tool and Carpet Tool are fantastic bonuses that make this vacuum incredibly versatile for pet owners and carpeted areas alike. For its size, it's a top-performing appliance that punches well above its weight in cleaning power.

Smart Design for a Vac
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this little thing. Appreciate how you can use it with or without a bag. It’s more stylish than other wet/dry vacs, and I like how the attachments store on the unit, as well as the cord and the hose itself. Only two things that are slight downfalls, which is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars for assembly and maneuverability: It’s fairly heavy for its size… and the hose is hard to get it wrapped around all the way to the storage clip BUT I’m assuming it will get easier to do the more I use it as the hose stretches out a bit. Great suction, good variety of attachments, like it.
