Lift Away portion is no joke
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it comes to vacuums, I know that there's no perfect one. It truly will vary for each person based on height and strength really. For example, a heavy duty vacuum with really good suction and cleans really well may be suitable and okay for a tall or stronger person, whereas a lighter weight vacuum may be more convenient and easier to use for people not as strong or don't want something to lift heavy but still want suction power. It's difficult to find the best of both worlds. When it comes to the Shark Rotator Lift-Away, in my opinion as a 5'10" 250 lb user, I think it's a good vacuum for anyone that can lift up a 10 lb bowling ball. It's got the suction that's for sure, and it's not super heavy, but it's not on the lighter end either. Using it a few times now, I am impressed. I really dislike when you have a vacuum where you have to go back and forth over the same spot multiple times just to pick up the 1-2 pieces of dirt that just won't get sucked up, only for you to end up picking it up with your bare hands anyway because the vacuum just won't vacuum it up. That's not an issue with this vacuum. Cleaning is super easy and it works really well. We don't have pets in our household, but there's a lot of head hair all over the floor unfortunately. This does a good job of collecting hair that you see and even that you don't see. I was never really fond of attachments in general too because I felt they reduced the strength of the suction; again that's not the case here. We've owned a variety of brands and types of vacuums over the years, and this model really did a good job of balance without being overly expensive.

Impressed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I’m very impressed with this new Shark vacuum. First, it is super easy to assemble out of the box. No tools needed. Just snap a few sections together and you’re up and running. Also, it looks cool :-) Kinda has a vintage look. Over the last few years we have been using cordless vacuum’s. These are great for the most part. However, the charge on those never seems to last long enough and they seem to be less powerful. Switching back to this corded vacuum was a good move. The cord is plenty long. And as for power, it has plenty. Right from it’s first use, I have been impressed with the suction power. It’s doing a great job grabbing the dirt on the first pass. It has settings for carpet and hardwood flooring. Both work equally well. I’ve been very impressed with it’s ability to pick up pet hair. And if you have ever had to vacuum up pet hair, then you know how easily the roller can get clogged. The design of the Shark roller helps prevent hair clogging. But when you need to, the roller is very easy to clean. Emptying the dust bin is easy as well. The standard attachments are all included making it easy to clean hard to reach places. I really can’t say anything bad about it. Of all the various brands of vacuums we have had, I’ve always been the most impressed with the Shark brand.

Great vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great vacuum. We are very impressed with it. It has excellent suction that is very strong. The vacuum sorts of glides as I use it, which I wasn’t sure about but now I actually like it. I’m still in control of it but it helps it glide smoothly on hardwood and even carpet. It was quick and easy to set-up and was able to use within minutes of taking it out of the box. It’s also simple to use with only on/off, floor and carpet switch. It has a headlight which makes it easy to see so you don’t miss anything. It isn't heavy to move around if you need to carry it upstairs. But it has a great feature I love especially for using on stairs, the canister actually lifts off the vacuum and this makes it so easy to lift and carry for cleaning anywhere but was very helpful for our stairs. The cord is also long enough and we were able to do all the stairs without needing to change outlets. It comes with 3 tools, the expected crevice tool, a special brush that works excellent for picking up dog hair and dirt on furniture. And another tool we used for cleaning upholstery and dog mess. This works wonders with picking up dog hair and the dog hair doesn’t wrap around or clog the brush like most vacuums. That alone sold me on this vacuum. Also really love the long extension wand that you can clean up high like curtains and ceiling vents. I kept planning to clean my ceiling vents and kept postponing but when I got this, I thought it was the perfect time. It worked great, now I have no more excuses for delaying it so much. The vacuum also has 3 different washable filters which is nice, you don’t have to purchase them regularly. It also has a HEPA filter that is also washable and due to allergies, that was a must for our family. My only drawback is that it doesn’t fit under coach but with all the other great benefits, I’d still give in 5 stars. This definitely a win for many reasons including: perfect for picking up pet hair and not making it a pick when it wraps around, quick switch from floor to carpet, good tools on board, strong suction, easy to move and carry off vacuum base, cleans my wood floors, stairs and carpet very well and quickly.

High Powered Suction for a Good Price.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Full disclosure, this is not the first Shark Vacuum Cleaner that I own. I purchased a previous version of the lift away Shark vacuum that we still keep and use on the upstairs of our house. After using this vacuum for a few days I have come away really impressed with what you get for the price. No it's not a $700 vacuum but it does things that those vacuums can't do, mainly handle my high pile area rugs. On my higher priced vacuum, the brush roller stops spinning once it hits the high pile. This Shark worked perfectly once I opened up the vent near the handle. Things I really like about this Shark are: -LED lights on the front so you can see the dust and dirt in low light.(why don't all vacuum have this?) -The "hair free roller" claim lives up to the hype. Normally every couple months I'm cutting hair off the roller of my vacuum. Not with this one, not a hair to be found after a few weeks. -Attachments. The shark comes with 3 attachments. One of which is a tiny sucker tube that works great on electronic components. Awesome! -Disassembly is a breeze. Several grey buttons that stand out from the red body that allow you to lift away the container, or disassemble the majority of the vacuum. -Multiple filters. Same as my old shark this one has a knack for pulling tiny dust and dander particles out of the floors. -Lift Away ability. Great for stairs and getting closer to hard to reach places. I couldn't really find any negatives, which is strange for me other than a chemically smell the first few times I used it. Normally this smell goes away on new electronics within a few weeks but people seem to dwell on it so I figured I'd say that I noticed it as well. All in all I am super impressed with this vacuum. Because of the ease of mobility and the fact that it actually works well on our high pile carpets AND our hardwood floors it will be used quite a bit in our house. I will likely hand down my old Shark (that still works beautifully) to someone who needs it! For the price, I think it's worth it to give this Shark a shot.
