Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the Wandvac's ease of use, lightweight design, and powerful suction, frequently praising its self-emptying feature. However, some users point to limitations in battery life and the dustbin's capacity, while others note that carpet cleaning performance may not meet the standards of larger, corded vacuums.

I purchased it bc I needed a wand for certain areas in our office, like behind desks where we drop small things. It is fantastic machine. Absolutely love the versatility of the want, hand vac and full vacuum and the suction power of this is excellent for our office. I love the self-empty feature. It's just so futuristic and I'm going to buy another one for my house.

This is the perfect device for cleaning up after your pet, children or both! It’s super easy to put together, very light-weight and offers a strong suction. I was very impressed the first time I used it. I mainly got this to help when I vacuum my stairs, which are carpet. I was tired of lugging my heavy-duty vacuum with cord up and down those. This is the perfect substitute. The fact that it’s light and cordless allows me to safely do the job. What was once something I didn’t enjoy doing, is now something I can see myself doing weekly (or more if needed) . I was blown away of the debris it collected. I have 16 stairs and you’ll see the amount it collected after one go in a photo below. I wish the debris compartment was a little larger, but I realize this isn’t meant to vacuum your entire house. Just quickly after small messes, or in my case the stairs. I noticed when I go slower it picks up even more. Whenever there’s a food spill or dirt, I can just get this and quickly clean up. It's packs some serious power for it being so light. The self-empty system is fantastic. I can just place the vacuum in it's the empty-system holder when I notice the debris bin getting full. It activates and clears itself within 10 seconds. Best of all, I can then empty the larger waste bin either immediately or every frew days. I wish the battery lasted a little longer, but again I know this is for quick jobs. It’s not meant to do the entire house. I can say I’ve successfully vacuumed about 400 sq feet on a single charge and emptied the debris twice. So it’s possible to treat this like a traditional vacuum, but please remember it’s for quick jobs. I do wish the vacuum stayed upright when all the pieces are together. What I mean, is while I'm vacuuming and take a pause. I'll have to prop it against the wall so it doesn't fall over. Again, I know this is a cordless handheld vacuum, but still. It'd be nice. Sleek design, light-weight and feels great in my hand. Vacuums shouldn’t be judged by this, but it’s nice and modern looking so it’s not something that has to be put at the back of your closet. Pros: Powerful Super lightweight Self-empty system! Sleek and modern look Feels great in my hand Great turn radius Offers various attachment heads Cons: Battery life Longer charge The handle area (closest to the battery) gets hot when I use it more than 5 mins I wish the vacuum would stay upright When all the pieces are connected. Overall: I’m extremely happy with this device. I know it’s perfect for getting up pet hair, but it’s very convenient to use on my stairs. I no longer have to lug my heavier cord vacuum up and down while vacuuming those. I now have this light-weight powerful cordless vacuum to help! I highly recommend this, even though I criticized the garbage bin on the vacuum and the battery life. When I notice the bin is getting full, I place it on the self-empty dock and in seconds it’s clear. I can then return to vacuuming!

Great "Grab & Go" Cordless Vacuum

Well packaged yet easy to unpackage and simple and easy to assemble, well designed. Once you have the self-emptying charger base set up you can place the self-emptying vacuum on the charger base and in approximately 3 hours, you’re ready to vacuum. The Shark WANDVAC is streamlined and very handy for a quick “grab and clean” or vacuuming a larger area(s). Is not going to clean carpet like my full-size corded Shark vacuum or my Shark Apex Uplight corded vacuum however for a light vacuum on the carpet it is fine. Great job on my concrete floors, picks up debris and dust leaving my floors looking nice. Vacuums under furniture with 3” + of clearance, very handy. Very versatile when vacuuming behind large furnishings and up high. You can use the self-emptying cordless stick vacuum with the attachments to get in tight places and lower areas or utilize the extension and attachments to reach up to the ceiling for those cobwebs that mysteriously appear. All of this is quick and simple to accomplish due to the design and can be accomplished on the fly. The self-emptying charging base is great, complete your vacuuming, place the vacuum on the base and in seconds the base empties the vacuum and starts charging the vacuum. This is truly a grab and go vacuum, back to the base and you’re done. The battery life, per full charge, is good, vacuumed approximately 600 sq. ft. thoroughly, incudes under beds and dressers, chairs, etc. on one battery charge. Only concern will be battery life and battery replacement cost, at least you can replace the battery.

    Too short of battery time

Not designed for a long cleaning time. First and foremost, this vacuum, when fully charged will only last for 15 minutes. That’s the reason for the 3 stars. It will take more than 1 hour to charge. There is no alternative for a spare battery. So you better be prepared to have another vacuum in case this one is running out of battery. If you use this vacuum for a quick cleaning, this could be the ideal tool. Since the vacuum is pretty light, it’s easy to navigate around the room. The two attachments that came with it will help cleaning certain areas of the house. The one called “duster crevice tool” can be used to reach out a small areas. I used this attachment to clean corner as well. This is a very standard tool that comes with other vacuum cleaners. I really wish that they would provide a different kind of bristle tool that can be more effective in cleaning corners or baseboard. The other tool that is designed to pick up pet mess can be used to clean corners as well. I found that the vacuum is pretty good in picking up small materials and dust off of the floor or carpet. Again, because of how light the vacuum is, it’s easy to navigate around the house with this vacuum. One of the best thing about this vacuum is its ability to empty the dusk directly into the charging base. We hate emptying the dust into the trash can because no matter what, some of the dusk will be flying/scattering in the air and will likely end up somewhere in the floor. As you can see in the picture attached, the dust will get sucked in completely into the charging base and the container and the filter looks really clean afterward. I was worried that the container is too small and will get overflow. Of course that could happen if it picks up big stuffs. But with the limited 15 minutes running time, I would doubt that this will fill up that quickly. Besides, just in case it does, the vacuum can be easily put back into the charging base. Unless they can come up with one with longer running battery, I would not recommend this product.

    Ultra lightweight vacuum!!!

The Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System, Bagless Cordless 3-in-1 Cordless Stick Vacuum! A super portable ~2lb vacuum that is great for quick cleanups. The vacuum is ultra lightweight and does not disappoint when it comes to suction power as it can easily pick up most debris on the first pass. Because it is so lightweight, it’s very easy to maneuver with one hand for quicker cleaning with less effort. The self-cleaning brush does indeed work as intended, and I have yet to find any hair or strands stuck in it after using it multiple times. The self-empty feature is also quite convenient and I can already see maintenance for this vacuum will be very effortless as the machine does most of the work for you already to ensure it stays in tip top shape. The Wandvac comes with a crevice head, small brush head, and bigger squared brush head. These additional heads make for versatile cleaning for stairs, sofas, cars, etc. The only cons that I can think of are related to battery life and the noise level of the self-emptying feature. The battery life is not that great, so don’t expect this to be your go to vacuum if you need to vacuum your entire house in one go; it’s more fit/suited for quick cleanups and from my experience, it lasted ~20 minutes per charge. The self-emptying base station noise is super loud and takes ~10 seconds to fully empty the Wandvac; it isn’t any louder than an actual corded upright vacuum, but gets near that level of noise. Overall, the Shark Wandvac is a great little vacuum that will always have you reaching for it instead of other vacuums for quick cleanups! I have a Dyson V11 and this Wandvac does very well to keep up in terms of cleaning quality and takes it to a whole new level when it comes to maintaining the vacuum itself. I would highly recommend this vacuum to anyone, but especially those who may have mobility impairments, as it’s super lightweight and easy to use!

A decent vacuum for small jobs

The Shark Wandvac is an interesting device, but if I'm being perfectly honest, I was expecting something more powerful, especially for something marketed as being capable of handling pet hair. It does a great job of picking up small, lightweight objects on hard surfaces, like cat litter and crumbs off a tile floor, and that's really sort of what it feels made to do. When I try to vacuum something like pet hair off my couch or a rug, it does a mediocre job at it, often picking up less than it leaves behind. The battery life is relatively short, lasting a few minutes at best, but again, it doesn't really feel like it's meant to vacuum an entire house, just to clean up small, incidental messes. I do feel that if I dropped a glass object and it shattered, this would be powerful enough to suck up all the tiny shards without worrying about stuff being left behind, so that's a definite plus. I did not find it capable of handling pet-related messes, apart from tracked out cat litter. In line with the general nature of the vacuum, the dust chamber feels small and is clearly meant to be emptied often, which the self-emptying system works well for. It quickly evacuates everything in the chamber (though some hair tends to get stuck) and keeps it charged and ready to go for the next mess. The filter keeps even the tiniest objects in. As for included accessories, the brushroll is easy to clean and seems resistant to hair getting caught. It's very effective on hard floor surfaces, but not so much on soft ones. The extension is nice for reaching things like fans and blinds, and the crevice tool makes it easy to get in between furniture. It feels very agile in use, it's easy to turn the brushroll and it seems well designed for fitting into tight spaces. The base is compact which makes it easy to find a storage space, and it holds a surprising amount of debris, so you're not constantly having to empty it. It's a decent vacuum for someone who lives in a smaller space or who doesn't have the need to clean up large messes frequently. It does a good job with small debris, I really just wish the suction were better.

Perfect companion to a vacuum robot!

This attractive little vac is the perfect companion for folks like me with vacuuming robots. Sure, robots are great and, in my home, do most of the regular vacuuming. But when you want to do a quick touch up, or you’ve made a mess they’re a bit overkill and difficult if not impossible to just do a small, confined area. That’s where the Shark Wandvac comes in handy. It’s light and easy to maneuver but has enough suction to get the job done. The base keeps it charged and ready to go at all times and after a job, it automatically cleans out the dirt compartment. I originally wrote this feature off as just being lazy but the more I have been using it the more I appreciate it. It’s nice to have the vac ready when you are and not have to worry about it getting full for weeks. It assembles quickly (and permanently) and after a short charge you can go from unboxing to cleaning. I found the packaging and instructions easy to follow (as with most devices from the Shark/Ninja team) and the build quality solid and impressive. I have a full-size Shark upright vacuum that’s well over a decade old and while I don’t use it as much since I got the robot vacuums, it has always simply worked. I think that the new Wandvac will fulfill the uses that the upright used to handle so I’ll be moving it to the second floor. I like the fact that the power brush head attachment is powerful but also low profile. So far, I haven’t run into any situations where it could clean under or go around something – I major plus in my book! I love the storage options for the accessories, but I wish they’d provided some kind of storage for the fabric brush as well. (I’m just going to add a bit of Velcro to the brush and the base though!) In fact, the only negative thing I could mention is that with the wand vacuum attached to the power head, it’s almost impossible to get it to stand on its own; you’ll likely end up having to lean it against something if you are moving furniture around when vacuuming and need both hands. But in my experience, this didn’t happen that often and if you need to stand it up for any length of time you can always detach the wandvac and clip it to the bracket near the bottom of the tube. It’s a small price to pay for the convenience and feature set in my opinion. I feel like the price is super competitive versus the competition even though I’d be willing to pay more for a Shark/Ninja brand. I’ve always had success with their products and continue to be impressed by their build quality and features. As with all the Shark/Ninja other products I own, I’d definitely recommend this one!

The Shark Wandvac is an excellent little cleaning system with great features and a small footprint in your home. Self emptying system: 10/10. It is so easy to use and is a nice addition to have. Very simple to empty, just press a button to pull the bin out and dump, them push it right back into the base… Done! The best part is, its all sealed and has a HEPA filter system so you avoid that cloud of dust when emptying. Battery Life: 9/10. After a full charge the Wandvac was able to clean about 80% of my downstairs. I did have to empty the vacuum collection bin 2 times, but I do have 3 dogs so their hair adds up. The Wandvac has very good suction power, so there is no issues with it picking up at all. Suction: 10/10. For the size, the Wandvac has power, it has gone from hardwood flooring to area rugs to furniture (using the provided attachments), with no problems. The collection bin isn’t very big, but its big enough to get through your average rooms. The self emptying system does have a quiet mode feature so it wont empty automatically when you put the wandvac onto the base, this will only empty the vacuum on your command.

Less than a year later - battery is shot

Vacuum is pretty good, although as other reviewers mention, suction works most effectively with forward motion, not back and forth like most vacuums. The big problem with this vacuum, however, is the battery. After less than a year, the battery will not fully charge (there are 3 three "charging lights" which light up in succession to indicate the battery is "filling" with power). Only two of those lights now even light up, and they glow constantly as if the battery is trying to fully charge but constantly failing. The run-time reflects this inability to charge, and lasts a maximum of 5 minutes, less than 1/3 of the manufacturer's specified run time of 16.5 minutes. If the was battery worked properly, I would give this 4-5 stars, because the weight and handling is wonderful, suction is sufficient, and the self-emptying canister is excellent.

I love this vacuum! I was very hesitant at first, as I have had many “stick vacs” in the past. This one surpassed my expectations and has great suction. I love that it’s easy to empty from the base, and the attachments that it comes with are handy and functional as well!

This is a great stick vacuum especially for the price. I also love that it’s so easy to empty the base. My only complaint is that the vacuum itself holds basically nothing and I find myself having to return to the base multiple times per cleaning session. It also doesn’t do the best job on carpet, but when we bought it we were living in a house with all hardwood and it was ideal for that.

Pros: - the Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System is great. It will empty the on-board dirt cup every time you reattach to the base (or not if you choose the mute option). This system not only makes for a dust free emptying of the vacuum head every time, but also seems to "compact" the collected dirt, dust, hair, etc. in the collection bin, so that even that seems less messy than with other stick vac systems - the Shark Wandvac head is by far the smallest & easiest handheld vac of any I've used & is designed to be used as a handheld vac without having to use any additional attachments. You can use attachments is you want, but it's angled and set up in such a way that no attachment is needed- a super easy plus! - I seem to vacuum up at least a cat's worth of fur every day & the Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System, Bagless Cordless 3-in-1 Cordless Stick Vacuum has so far proven to be up to the task! - the fins on the Shark Wandvac's powered head are MUCH better at picking up messes on hard flooring- in my case cat litter and/or paper shreds from tiles. The fins seem much better at directing this loose material into the vacuum (vs. out from under the vacuum which often happens when using more brush-like heads) Cons: - there are no "modes" or adjustable power settings. This hasn't explicitly been an issue, per se, but I do use the modes occasionally an another stick vac that I have

I am conflicted with this vac; it works fine on hard surfaces. Looking at the claims, it will live up to them on hard surfaces, but transition to soft, like carpet and couches, no bueno, especially for pet hair. The vac does not have enough suction power on carpet and when switching to wand with attachment it doesn’t have a roller brush/lint style attachment so it cannot pull the pet hair out, it can only try and suck it out. I feel like Shark is a little misleading in their characterization of this vac given the box pictures and claims. I cannot recommend this if you have a pet on two fronts one as stated its not powerful enough. That is not to say it doesn’t pick up pet hair, but it takes multiple passes to feel like it has been cleaned. The second reason is because the canister is so small. While the "no dust" canister is great, the mechanism that collects the dust will at some point require dumping and then it will have dust. I cannot recommend if you have a lot of carpet. Again because it doesn’t have enough suction power and it requires multiples passes. I cannot recommend if you have a large home. For reasons listed above, it is not going to clean your whole home in one go. I CAN recommend this if you want a vac for cleaning small spaces with all or mostly hard surfaces. Honestly, my first impressions was simply the old Dust Buster that every home had in the 80’s and 90’s. They were great will you spilled the dry cereal or had a some dirt on your shoes, etc. The Shark WandVac is definitely a huge upgrade over those old vacs, but still fits that niche of use. I would see this as an Assistant to the Manager, has it use, but not the main vac in the house and never will be. Hope my 2 cents help!
