WOW!! Coming from a Sony 60" DLP to the Sharp LC-70TQ15U is just AMAZING! I have replaced the lamp on the Sony 3 times and the Sharp by far has a better and brighter picture. This is the BEST 1080p TV out there currently that does 3D (no glasses but you can get them around mid $30) and SMART tv. The 3D is bright and SHARP, no ghosting. Love the fact that it upscale 1080p to almost 4K. Sitting 10 feet away, my eyes will not be able to distinguish the upscaling. 4K is good if you sit like 4 feet from your TV. HA HA!! The SMART function is pretty good. There are a lot of apps and multiple streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Cinema Now, Youtube, Pandora to name a few). Also there is a fast button on the remote for Netflix and 3 that you designate on the remote. I love the SHARP APP for the iPhone. It makes my iPhone into another remote and does more than the remote by giving a TV guide and suggestions. Set up was easy. I have the following connections: 1 HDMI to Directv box; 2 HDMI to AppleTV; 3 HDMI to PS4; 4 HDMI to PS3; Components to Wii. All connected to my old trusty Yamaha RX-V661 (mostly for surround sounds. I like to have a direct connect from source to TV for video). All works flawlessly. I hard wired my TV with my Linksys Powerline system (no buffering or lost connection). I went to the AV Forum for calibrating the TV picture setting but where my TV is placed, the USER default is perfect. I can't ask for anything easier than that! I bought the LC-70TQ15U on sale and the following week it went up $200 still "on sale" (Nicccceee....I just made a profit! LOL). I have mine on the same entertainment center that the Sony was on. The Sharp is about 1/2 inch further than the base of the entertainment center. I like the fact that the TV base is squarish and is in the center. The TV is 90+ pounds. I noticed the LC-70SQ15U was sold by non Best Buy Store. So what the difference you may ask? The TQ (Best Buy exclusive) has a 15W sub woofer with two 10W speakers. The SQ has two 10W speakers. The TQ has a brush aluminum bezel and SQ has a plastic bezel. The bezel and sub woofer accounts for the weight difference of the TQ and SQ (70+ pounds). Overall, I am impress with the LC-70TQ15U. I am going to call Sharp about the IR blaster to "control" the Directv box. The IR blaster connects to the USB connection in the back. I have not notice any blurring and pixelated screen yet. The PS4 looks vivid, bright, clean and SHARP! This is a PERFECT 1080p Hybrid LED TV on the market! Sharp, you hit a HOME RUN with the LC-70TQ15U!

We had this TV installed and wall mounted. This TV is absolutely amazingly spectacular. 4 hdmi inputs, 3D, netflicks, etc.. I can't help but to stop and stare at this TV as I walk into the living room. If one word can describe it, it would be "GASP". If you got the wall size to fit this TV and the money, definitely a MUST BUY. We got 4 pairs of 3D glasses and it is just like being in a movie theater! You will want a sound bar because no flat screen I have ever heard has much for sound so my expectations were low for sound. Although, that said, the sound isn't "bad", but the Sharpe sound bar we got makes this TV go over the top for satisfaction.

When I first turned this TV on I wasn't very happy. I went through all the pre-set picture modes and couldn't find one I liked. Before returning it and buying a Samsung I decided to order Disney's WOW TV Calibration DVD. After following the DVD instructions and calibrating all the video settings I can honestly say I have the picture exactly the way it should be and I'm very happy with this TV. One thing to note is Sharp has a Film Mode setting in the Advanced Settings. It was turned on by default. I watched broadcast TV and a Blu Ray disk and the picture had that strange soap opera effect and I began to get dizzy. I went through the picture settings and found Film Mode and turned it off and the problem went away. It seems these manufacturers add features to their TVs that really are unnecessary and for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would watch this TV with Film Mode turned on. That being said I can honestly say that, once properly calibrated, this TV produces one of the best pictures I have ever seen. I still haven't played around with its Smart TV features or watched a 3D movie on it yet and feel these are just added bonuses to this wonderful TV. It's definitely a keeper!

Couldn't be happier. I replaced a 55" LG to this 70" Sharp, and the difference is night and day. Super clear picture, and paired with a 4k up-convert Sony Blu Ray player, Blu Rays look even more amazing.

Having just experienced my 60" Samsung 700 series fail, it was time to look for a new TV. My initial interest was getting a Vizio 65" 4k TV. Rather then buy one line I went to the Warwick store. I did have a budget and its very easy to get stepped up $200-250 from one model to the next and one brand to another. I did want a minimum of 65" and ideally a 70" if possible. The very patient and well trained BestBuy sales person was very helpful in showing me the features, benefits of one brand vs another. The Vizio 4k was eliminated with in a minute as the image has a washed out look compared to a Samsung or Sharp tv. I looked at every model up to a price point of $2000 and kept going back to the Sharp Aquos Q+ 70". The image was spectacular and to be honest I did not see any difference between it and the $2600 dollar 65" Samsung 4k. The decision was made I selected the Sharp, unfortunately it was not in the store so I would have to wait three days until it would be delivered. The day arrived and the installers were very professional, they did not bump or bang the huge box on the floor or any of the walls. Once set up and turned on the picture was BETTER then in the store. I am in awe, the detail and depth perception changes your entire idea of what watching tv is all about. Keep in mind this is only with a Dish 1080 signal coming into the set. I have watched a half a dozen Blue Ray DVD movies and am astonished, the detail, sound and easy of use of this Sharp make it by far the most enjoyable purchase I have done in many years. So far I would give it 10 out of 10 stars and the helpfulness of the BestBuy employee 10 out of 10 also. Overall a fantastic experience from purchase to installation and the enjoyment thus so far is vastly superior to my expectations.

    Excellent picture... after tweaking

Originally, I purchased a Samsung 65" 240hz 3D smart tv from costco. I ended up returning it because it was a little too small and I wanted a 70". The picture on the samsung was a dynamite right out of the box. the remote was very concise and simple; useful. Unfortunately, samsung doesn't make a 70" and 75" was too big and over twice the price. So I compromised with the sharp. I still paid almost $1000 more for it, and i'm not sure the price was worth it. But i love the way it looks on the wall and overall, I'm satisfied. As for the tv itself, right out of the box, the picture seemed almost blurry. It bothered me greatly and I thought i would have to return it. But first, I tried playing with the picture settings. After a few hours of tweaking, I finally got the picture to look the way I wanted. There are several preset picture settings to choose from and each can be tweaked however you like. This is a nice feature since different inputs may need different adjustments. I had to turn the backlight all the way up on most of the presets in order to make the picture look crisper. Otherwise, it seemed blurry to me. But, after all the adjustments, i still think the samsung had a better picture. this tv is wall mounted on an ultra thin tv mount, in order to hang as close to wall as possible. the back of the tv has a few contours that limit how close to the wall it'll hang. the samsung didn't have that issue. Some sharp models have a huge box in the back to house larger speakers; i chose this model accordingly. I like that it has 4k capability, but have no way to test this feature. i bought the 3d due to the 240hz refresh rate. side by side, it is much crisper that 120hz. the problem is the soap opera effect, but that can be turned off if you prefer (as i do for movie viewing.) It seemed like the samsung accomplished this more effectively, plus it was easier to do. I like the one button access to netflix. unfortunately, pandora does not work well. For some reason, it keeps skipping or it'll just stop playing and you have to grab the remote and skip to the next track to start it up again. this is apparently a known issue. i just access pandora via my blu ray player. there are several other apps on the tv, but amazon is missing. seems odd, but i can't seem to find it anywhere. In regards to the remote, I wish it could be programed to have quick access to different inputs. Instead, i have to scroll through the inputs to change. But there are shortcuts on the remote that are programmable for different apps and channels. overall, its a little tricky to quickly use the arrow buttons without actually looking for them on the remote. I think the layout could've been designed better, but that obviously is not a deal breaker for most. Overall the samsung was 5 stars, so i gave the sharp 4. maybe 4.5, but it took a loot of adjustment to get there

This tv has phenomenal quality! The only problem I had was you have to have the TV within 10-15 feet of the wireless router or it WILL NOT be able to connect to the Internet to use its smart features. The display looks best on dynamic or dynamic (fixed) but you will not be able to use that setting when playing video games as it slows down the response time for some reason making your movements lag behind the input of the controller. The sound isn't great but it can be fixed by using a sound bar or surround sound system. This tv is HUGE and HEAVY! I don't suggest mounting it unless you want some wall damage. The TV is great for the price but it is still lacking compared to a 4k tv, it's pretty dang close but you can still notice some of the blur when scenes are moving quickly. If I had no budget I'd go with a Sony 4k first but for under 2k and 70 inches you can't beat this tv!

I haven't gotten much use out of the 3D features, but that's because I don't particularly need it. It's cool to have but there isn't a big selection of 3D titles for the genres I like anyway, so for me it's basically an extra cool feature. Plus having to wear 3D glasses when you wear specs can be a pain. Anyway, on to the good stuff: this TV is amazing! Now, even though I saved nearly $800 buying it right after Christmas because it was on sale, and I received some cash and gift cards that helped, it's still worth its original price. The sheer size, the true 240hz, the Smart TV features, crystal clear picture and sound, bright colors, deep blacks, I couldn't be more satisfied to be honest. The gentleman that helped me in my purchase said, and I quote, "it emulates 4k." And I take that as it's not actually a true 4k television, but it's dang close. Close enough to be the ONLY tv on display that was playing the same stock footage as all of the actual 4k ultra tv's!! ...and 4k ultras are very pricey...and cable TV isn't broadcasted in 4k anyway so if you're looking for a top-of-the-line 70" class TV, simply, here you are! This one is certainly my first recommendation. Also, I believe there's a couple different sizes of this same tv if you don't need the monster 70". Either way, it's outstanding!!!

This tv rocks! I am talking awe-inducing gaming. My wife and I got Finding Nemo in 3d and it was fantastic. A lot of people want to diss on 3d, but I don't know what the heck their issue is, it was very cool and looked smooth and beautiful. 240hz makes anime, Pixar movies, and video games sooo much better. Best TV at this size at a very reasonable price. Trust me, buy it and be happy!

After a bad Saturday morning I had with BB delivery crew... I decide to upgrade from Sony KDL70W850B to SHARP AQUOS Q+ and personally decide to handle the deliver myself...long story.! Now let's talk about this Q+ HDTV and what I can say from compering to my 55” Panasonic Viera plasma TV...I am sorry but you can't compare any LCD LED TV with a PLASMA TV. If you just want a large 70" screen for your living room this Q+ is just the LCD LED TV you may look for. I am not that happy with the black level and super bright colors that this screen can make, but is decent till we all can afford an OLED TV. Also no 3D glasses came with the TV !! Now this TV is just close to be amazing except that the TV stand was scratched out of the box :-/ ( see pictures ) and the back plastic stand cover that after you screw it in is lose and wobbling !! Maybe this is why I decided to mount this TV on the wall. Sound on this TV is like every LCD TV...poor and it does need a sound bar.  Be aware that this TV is heavy and getting it out of the box it may require a friend or your neighbor…don’t ask your wife or your kid to help you with this TV because you ask for trouble. It’s too heavy! The instruction manual is available for download @ https://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx The remote control is capable to control your Cable box, DVD/B-ray and if you lucky your Audio . Enjoy and don't go crazy on full 4K technology Ultra HD TV it may be 7 years till this technology will be fully implemented.

Bought this TV because I wanted a large screen at a decent price point, but the room I put it in wasn't able to accommodate a good projector system. The picture is sharp, much better than my previous 55" plasma. The sound is decent for a TV, but as much as I hate it, they build these things expecting the consumer is going to purchase a separate sound bar or surround sound system. I haven't yet, so I'm stuck with the TV sound for now. Setup wasn't the worst experience in the world, but it really could be much better. Some menus were intuitive, but some were "let's see what this does" kind of choices. The feature I dislike the most is that the menus pretend to be able to control your cable box (change channels), but they really can't. That limits my use of the Smart TV controls to only when I want to watch Hulu or Netflix. It hasn't diminished my love of the television, but it limits some options. Even with this problem, it could all at least partially be remedied if they would have included a universal remote, which they do not. Anyway, it seems like I have focused mostly on negativity, but the positives far outweigh the negatives, and since I can't rate 4.5 stars, I will still give it 5.

After a big disapointment with Walmarts Vizio 65" from Black Friday last year, i was decided to spend more on a TV that was really going to look great. Having the Dish, several of the channels We watch are stil on Std definition only, but this Sharp Q+ make them look really good after some little adjustments. Needles to say the HD channels look awesome, With the Vizio could never make those HD's look even descent. BDs, Video Games PS and Wii U, look absolutely beautiful. Only downside is the angle view, colors get whiter when watched from more than 70 degrees on any side. All and all... we love this BIG TV!!

I choose this TV because the picture was brilliant at the store. Ok, the 4k TVs maybe have a better picture, but I think not much better. And they are more expensive. I bought the 70'' and the TV is great. Big brilliant picture. We watching brighthouse and also many movies from HDD or Blue ray. What should I say. The picture is really amazing. The 3D also is perfect. I use glasses from an other brand, not the sharp ones. It's like watch a movie in the cinema.

I choose this TV because it had more technology then the Samsung. but I believe that the Samsung has batter picture quality. But again I also believe that you get more tech. with this option, like the 4k up-convert technology and screen size 70" plus the 4th. led yellow this is good for the $2,400 price range!! not to mention it's also 3D TV. But still all in all the Samsung clear motion seems to me to give a better picture quality!! but this is just my opinion. The end result for me was more tech. I'm a tech. junky

THIS FLAT SCREEN TV COLORS AND CLARITY IS AWSOME. THE SOUND ON THE TV SPEAKERS ARE OK. THE REMOTE CONTROL BUTTON ARE SET UP KIND OF FUNKY AND SOME OF THE KEY BUTTONS THAT CONTROL THE INTERNET CONTENT ARE SMALL AND HARD TO USE. THE TV DOES'NT COME WITH A PAPER COPY OF THE OWNER'S MANUEL, IT COMES PRE-INSTALL IN THE TV HELP CENTER, OR YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE WEB SITE AND PRINT IT OUT. BUT OVERALL IT'S A NICE TV AND THE PICTURE QUALITY IS CLOSE TO 4K ULTRA HD LIKE IT SAID ON THE BROCHURE. SO GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PURCHASE.
