I bought these as I cannot wear earbuds for extended period of time due to discomfort and to preserve battery when not in use. This OpenComm headset is perfect for reasons I did not realize until continued use: PROS 1. Battery life - I've spend hours on conference calls and listening to YouTube. 2. Comfort - I wear these all day (with glasses) with no discomfort. I used in home office, car, and playing football with my sons. 3. Call Quality and Audio - Based on reviews and my own personal use, calls are clear on both ends and noise elimination works well. The audio is excellent for low/medium volume media. 4. Solid/Stable Connectivity - I used AirPods Pros and AirPods prior to AfterShokz. Although Apple has technology to sense switching between different devices, it does not work all the time. I actually prefer how AfterShokz require you to disconnect from a device before you can connect to another. 5. PRICE/Materials - MSRP is $159, I got mine during sale for $139. The headset is extremely durable with a soft silicone feel. The case included is high quality full protective hardshell case. CONS 1. Like any bone conducting headset, as a tradeoff to not having anything in your ears or covering your ears, the sound quality at high volume will not be comparable to products like AirPods or traditional wired/wireless headsets. The only time I go back to AirPods is when I want to listen to my music at full volume. 2. Charging Cable - proprietary cable

The AfterShokz - OpenComm Bone Conduction Stereo Bluetooth Headset is one of the latest products from this company. But what’s so special about it? One is that is a bone conducting headset meaning that is doesn’t go to your ears but goes near your ear and sound vibrations pass on to your ears. This enables you to hear your outside surroundings. And while I really won’t recommend this for music, it is still perfect for passive listening to music and being able to hear your surroundings. Being a headset, it has a retractable boom mic which has noise cancelling features meaning it blocks outside noise while you talk which makes it ideal if you make a lot of phone calls as you work. And it does help further that this unit is lightweight too making it comfortable to wear for long hours. It connects via Bluetooth. And I have this with phone calls using both Android and iOS, Skype and Zoom and I must say call quality is good. People don’t notice if I am using a headset at all. And to add, battery life is great at 16 hours. The only downside I can think of is that it uses a proprietary magnetic charging cable rather than a USB cable (whether C or not) though my rating won’t be affected at all. So if you are looking at a headset to use in the office (or working from home) the whole day, I’d highly recommend this headset.

Overall I like this headset quite a bit. I primarily bought it because I'm on Microsoft Teams all day on my laptop and I needed a comfortable headset with decent battery life. My Airpods don't last all day and having earbuds in my ears all the time gets uncomfortable. This headset fits the bill for me. PROS: 1. Good battery life. I can go all day on one charge. 2. Can connect to 2 devices simultaneously (kind of a pain to set up the 1st time, but after that it's way easy), which is huge for me...I use it with my laptop for Teams and my cell phone at the same time. 3. Lightweight and comfortable. 4. Charges quickly. I can get a decent amount of life out of a 15-20 minute quickie charge if needed. CONS: 1. Sometimes I get a complaint from people I'm on calls with that it cuts out. Not a huge issue, but it is there. 2. Custom cable for charging (so when I inevitably lose it, it'll be a pain to replace). Overall, I am very pleased with this headset.

Great headset. Waterproof is real. No issues getting wet while sweating, in the shower or cleaning. Great sound even while being able to hear what going on around me. It's a different experience and not for everyone. If you are. These work great. The battery life is as advertised. I seldom have to charge it unless i am listening to music in the background all night at work. The proprietary charging cable seems a little flimsy BUT....it is well though out and makes a great connection. It won't wear out like the USB cords of past headsets. The noise canceling is 9 out of 10. It works a lot better than most out ther but after having Plantronics set the bar with the Wind Noise canceling t's hard to get a ten. Comfort is great. I forget i am wearing them even after 12 hours. I wear them more than the Plantronics because of the stereo sound. The price is a little of a shock. I was skeptical at fist but not i feel the value is on point with the quality and function. So far the durrability is impressive. I am rough on headsets. I get them wet and take them in rough environments. Kudos After Shocks

I'm not going to lie, I actually expected these to kinda suck. I was very surprised at just how great these sound for calls and the battery life. I have been on a journey for more than a year trying to find the best earbuds that were great for working out/music and great for calls. Really, after trying a whole bunch, they just do not exist. So then I flipped to looking for something great for Zoom/Teams meetings and such. The OpenComm has been the best so far. THE GOOD: I hate over-the-ear headphones as I find them too hot to wear all day and, frankly, hate looking a bit like Mickey Mouse on every video call. Earbuds hurt my ears after wearing them for more than a few hours. I was pleasantly surprised at how good calls sounded on this headset and I really like not having my ears blocked all day. The connection was easy, they appear to be well made, and the battery life is great. THE BAD: The biggest ding I give this is that while my ears do not hurt, the pressure on my head where these rest all day is going to take a little getting used to. I get it, it needs to be in contact for the transmission and I have a giant melon. So, just something to consider. Two minors dings are that I wish there was a dedicated mute button on the mic or something like that and the proprietary charger. Really? Couldn't do USB-C, micro-USB, or something like that? All-in-all, I'm happy with the purchase and look forward to continuing to use them.

These allow you to clearly hear what’s going on around you as if you were on a speaker phone. Others have said they hear me clearly on the other end. My use is primarily with my Windows pc for webconference calls although I use it occasionally on my iPhone for the same purpose. Some considerations: - Connects to one device at a time, but successfully works on iOS and Windows - If you have long hair or a hat, using these will require some adjustment or might not be able to use - The cheekbone are that the device rests on can still feel like they’re on you if worn for hours - It comes with 1 charger/cord which is unique to Aftershokz. As another reviewer noted, you probably want to buy a second one once you confirm these are a keeper - The boom mic is on the left side and not moveable to the other side

This a fantastic headset. I already had some Aftershokz Trekz Air headphones, so I knew the bone conduction system would allow me to listen to music or a podcast while walking or biking, without losing my ability to hear traffic, neighbors, or even nearby birdsongs. But the Trekz Air was not so good when I was on the phone; the other side couldn't always hear me clearly. The OpenComm Headset solves that problem amazingly well. The boom mic is unobtrusive (and can fold out of the way), and my voice can be heard very clearly on the other end. The noise suppression is superb. Once, I even turned on the coffeegrinder, which makes an awful racket, and the person on the other end of the call didn't hear anything at all. Compared to the Trekz Air, the buttons on the OpenComm are a little larger and easier to find, and I think the sound is a little clearer, especially on the bass end. Also, the loop fits a little closer to my head, so that I can wear the headset comfortably even when I rest my head on a headrest or lie down. The only thing I have mixed feelings about is the magnetic charging cord. Yes, it works really well, the magnets snap it into position, and the headset charges really quickly. And there is no plug opening that could let water in. But the cord is a proprietary, single-purpose charging cord, and I suspect if I ever lose or damage it, it will be expensive to replace. I would think they could use something like the Qi system; you can find those chargers anywhere these days. All in all, though, I love this headset. It does everything I want it to. It's comfortable, the mic captures clean sound, and the noise cancelling works very well. I love the that it uses bone conduction, especially since it allows me to maintain situational awareness while listening.

Works better than my blu parrot headset everyone says they can hear me better without any feedback at all and no static. I just wish it had longer charging cable and a little more volume and longer mic.

Excellent sound quality! The mic is also very convenient and noise cancellation works well. The controls take time to get ysed to. I would give 5 stars if only the charging cable was a standard USB-C or microUSB. The proprietary cable makes it inconvenient to carry one more thing while traveling.

Overall the product is good. It's light weight, comfortable, and sounds good. The sound is like any other earphones you would wear. When you take them off you barely hear them, but on your head, it pulses through and fills you with sound. The microphone picks up voice for calls and video calls with no issues. The gel like covering is comfortable and feels good for long periods. It seems like it would fit a range of head sizes. It comes with a carrying case for the headset and charging cord. The charging cord holds in place magnetically. There are only a few buttons on the headset. Connection to Bluetooth or NFC is standard and worked fine. Two issues I had with the headset though. One, with my head not pointing straight ahead the pads would rise up a bit and not sit flush on my head. I tried adjusting it, but the sound would diminish without sitting flush. Also, you could sense the vibrations which could be fatiguing after a while if they were not flush on your head. But, when not turning my head they sat fine, sounded fine, and there was no fatigue. Secondly, the charging cable is custom. It is nice it’s magnetic, but it’s not a USB standard. So, you may want an extra for backup as if you lose it, at a higher cost than a standard cable, or you’re stuck until getting another one. The headset is comfortable, sounds good, and is lightweight. It’s more for voice than music, but it works well enough for both. The open ear design lets you hear from the headset and local environment easily.
