Customers are saying
Customers find value in the OpenComm headset's sound quality, comfort, and long battery life. Many appreciate its lightweight design and the effectiveness of the bone conduction technology, which allows for situational awareness. However, some users experienced issues with the fit and reported that the maximum volume could be higher. A few also noted concerns about the proprietary charging cable and the price point.

Terrible connectivity on PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the good: These work great if you're connecting them to a cellphone. They connected to my phone instantly, and I was able to make a clear call with no drops or choppy, crap Bluetooth issues: zero setup or hassle involved. They're lightweight, comfortable, and aside from some slight pressure that gave me a bit of a headache until I got used to them (which happened quickly), I have no complaints about how they sit on my head. The slight vibration isn't distracting or bothersome at all. They also stay in place even while walking around or shaking my head -- my glasses fell off during my tests, and these stayed put. But now for the bad: If you're not planning on using these on a mobile device don't bother with this trash. I tried to use them on 3 different PC's running Windows 10 and had the same issues on all 3 -- terrible connectivity, sound drops or garbled audio, and most of the time I could only get either the microphone or the sound to work, almost never both at the same time, with the exception of my laptop, on which the audio was so crackly and sporadic even then, it wasn't worth it. Discord could tell they were plugged in, but the microphone never registered any input. Even when they were set as my default audio device it was a miracle if any audio came through them at all. The Aftershokz show up as both a headset, and headphones in the output devices, and I tried every combination of those settings I could, with no luck beyond a few choppy seconds of absolutely TERRIBLE audio before they would disconnect again. After the disconnect, they were often no longer discoverable, and I would have to power-cycle and reset the headphones, then re-pair them to even get them to show up in the device options again. I spent almost 3 hours messing with these things before I got so annoyed I gave up and stuffed them back in the box. I'll be returning them. I need them for work conference calls, so they're useless if they won't connect to my computer, and I don't have hours to troubleshoot audio devices every day before work. My Arctis 7 headphones connect with NONE of these issues -- they're just too heavy to wear all day so I was hoping for an alternative. I expect significantly better at this price point. In short -- great bluetooth headset for phone calls and those walking around with a mobile device in-hand all day. If you want a headset for Zoom calls, or conferencing from a computer, look elsewhere.

24 inch charging cable "Really"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset is fairly good, but all that is great is lost by the fact that the unit comes with a 24" magnetic charging cable which makes it too short to sit the unit anywhere other than on the floor when charging. A single charge will last throughout the day, but the fact that the cable is so short and the company does not offer an extension or a longer charge cable make me believe I'll be looking for an alternative.

Great when they worked
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased mid-May strictly for work calls and they worked great for a while. End of June - Early July, team members kept complaining that my voice was distorted. It got so bad I just went back to using my phone for calls. Decided to try them again today (making sure they were fully charged) and the issue persists. When they worked, I felt that they were totally worth the $$. Now I have $150 paperweight.

The microphone 2 second delay is a no go for me.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love these as I have the OpenMove model without a single issue. There is a sickening long 2 FULL second delay before the mic picks up my voice at all. This happens EVERYTIME I try to do a voice memo, voice assistant, or use the mic option in the messages (texting). It is a full 2 seconds, not approximately 2 seconds. If I counted to 10 in a normal speed, #5 is the first thing picked up. This isn't a BT thing since I have many other BT devices and not a single other BT device will do this to me. All my other BT devices have some sort of microphone noise cancelling technology, but these must have some added firmware that causes this delay. Since there is no way to update the firmware myself and the hard reset didn't fix them, I will have to return them as they are unusable for my needs and actually are dangerous for me to use them when and where I need them. Other than that, the sound is really good. The pads tingle less than the OpenMove by a little bit, but they aren't louder or better sounding than the less expensive OpenMove. Nor can customers hear me any better than the OpenMove model. So, the delay is the ONLY reason that I cannot use these. Sounds are great, the microphone is great when it is working, but that delay is a no go for me because it has required an inordinate amount of time to starting every message over again.

Bluetooth limits
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Limited bluetooth codecs degrades audio quality significantly while using microphone. Sounds okay when only using for audio alone, but horrible when when using microphone which renders it useless more my needs for listening to music while occasionally dictating with microphone.

Good idea but the technology is not quite there
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this headset but had to return it. The base is practically non-existent, highs are so-so, the sound becomes distorted at higher volumes. The idea is good but the technology is not quite there.

Not the best I've ever had!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The volume is not quite loud enough in a noisy environment. People you are talking to on the phone complain about the background noise.

The mic does not cancel out background noise as th
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a mic that works in a louder environment, keep looking. These were terrible. They said they cancelled out background noise, but they don't at all. Otherwise, the incoming sound quality was ok, not great, but passable for phone calls and such. For music it was sub-par. And even at top volume it was not that loud. They also seemed to heat up quite a bit where the device connected to your cheekbones. You absolutely have to have the correct shaped head for these as there is nothing adjustable about them. Sadly my noggin was not the right shape.

Returned quickly
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love this to use for work trainings I give but the microphone was apparently terrible for those on the other end of the calls. I tried multiple phones and networks. Barely adjustable to move the boom too. Also I get it if the design can't be altered for tech sake, but not being able to adjust the back made it impossible with a chair using a headrest. Otherwise i found the audio to be plenty good and loved the open ear aspects. Hopefully 2.0 version fixing these issues.

Not worth the money.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got these to use to work remotely. They connected fine, but after about ten minutes the mic function would stop working. I could hear the person I was talking to, but they were unable to hear me, though they started out being able to. This has happened every time I use them.

Annoying Headset!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you wear a headset all day for work, these can get very annoying. They buzz constantly because of the bone conduction. Also, they can be heard by people around you. They also do not work well qith MS Teams or Zoom.
