Gimmicky Bone Conduction, But Still Worth While
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy the fit and the comfort of these headphones, but I’m not convinced that their “7th generation bone conduction technology” is any good at all. In fact, after using several pairs of similar headphones, I’m more and more convinced that “bone conduction” is mostly a marketing term that was made up in order to sell a different style of headphones. The sound quality is nowhere near as good as earbuds, or over the ear headphones. Audio sounds flat and there is nearly no bass at all. The 3 built in equalizer options (Vocal Booster Mode, Earplug Mode, and Standard Mode) are not particularly helpful. But, despite bone conduction being a bit of a gimmick, the innovative off-ear fit does make them worthwhile for situations when the user wants to remain aware of ambient / surrounding noise. Instead of sounding best when pressing on the bones of the upper jaw, the audio quality (and volume) most improves as you move the ear pieces closer to the ear canal (even without physical contact). When the volume is low, audio cannot be heard by those around you, but when the volume reaches 75%, noise is noticeable to those not wearing the headset. And, at 85% the vibrations create an uncomfortable tingling sensation. The 6 hour battery life is sufficient and the USB-C charging port is a drastic improvement over Micro USB. The comfort and fit is where the AfterShokz shine. They hover over the back of the neck, but manage to stay in place through running, jumping, and even lying down during workouts. They can also be worn comfortably with glasses and hats. ...Perhaps one of the best features is their ability to connect with two devices simultaneously. While working from home (Due to COVID-19 restrictions) I have been able to have them connected to my laptop and also to my phone - while the off ear design still allows me to hear when my Family needs to communicate with me. (No more having to pull out my earbuds every time I think somebody needs to ask me a question.) The location of the volume controls would be more convenient if they were on top of the right earpiece, but pressing the multi-use / track change button is much more comfortable that wireless Bluetooth earbuds (which have you press an earbud deep into your ear in order to change tracks or answer calls). If audio quality is your primary focus, do not purchase these headphones. If you love bass, these headphones are not for you. If you like your music loud, these headphones will be a huge disappointment. But, if you are primarily looking for convenient headphones with a comfortable fit that allow for situational awareness, these headphones will meet your needs.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good sound. Great battery life. A little buzzy at top volume. Very comfortable and easy to wear. The active voice is very quiet and hard to hear in a noisy environment.

Good but can be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use and unlike earbuds, with this you dont get the weird feeling like something stuck in your ear. Volume and bass are not as high as an earbud but lot more comfortable to wear the whole day.

A solid enough upgrade from Trekz Titanium
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been dealing with my Titanium's for a few years now. They sounded fine, worked fine, etc., But we're very fragile and broke constantly, so I recently picked up a pair of Openmoves to properly replace them. Thus, this review will more or less be a comparison of the two. In terms of fit, they fit slightly different. Openmove is a little tighter which isn't a huge deal and does weigh a little less. Construction is a major improvement. Very little flex in the actual headphones and a magnet moves the speakers to a good position for charging. Speaking of charging the upgrade to USB-C is very much appreciated. My two biggest issues with them stem from sound quality and volume. I listen to a lot of podcasts and they are notedly muffled when using Openmove. You get over it quickly, but it's easy to pick up on. On a similar note, they are very notedly quieter than the Titaniums. On my Galaxy Note9 they're a good audio setting tick or two quieter (As in, Titaniums I used at the phones "max safe regular volume setting" when working out to hear everything clearly, with Openmove they often need to be a tick or two over that line to achieve the same volume). I would definitely consider them a lateral move, but the build quality and charging port upgrade make it a comfortably stomachable one.

Pretty good for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does what it needs to do. Connects well without cutting out sound, but a little quiet to have conversations on while somewhere loud, and if you turn volume all the way up, tickles my ears. Maybe that's just me but i don't like tickles on my ear or anywhere else.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like them. Sound is good. Only watch out for volume because the magnets vibrate and can hurt your ear drum.

not for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure how to classify these. They aren't really all that great from a sound standpoint, but then again that may not be the point. I got them to be able to listen to music and directions during a family road trip. However I found them to be not nearly loud enough to cut through road noise. After about 2 hours of continuous use I could not do it anymore due to pain around my temples.
