This is the 3rd pair I have purchased from this brand. 2 for my pops and 1 pair for me. The rumors are true the bass is lacking. The reason my pops had to purchase a 2nd pair was because he would sweat but not be mindful to have the device dry while charging and he would be drenched in sweat and it would go into the multi fuction button pictured in the default product picture. Another thing to be wary of is that this uses SBC (not ACC or APTX or LDAC) so if you want sound quality these are not the headphones for you. However there are a lot of upsides especially if you have frequent ear infections like myself or need to have situational awareness while being on a call or passively listening to some light music. Another useful feature is where you can pair this up to two devices. The battery life is also very good I can listen to these headphones for 8 hours from my phone just constantly playing music.

Sound quality for music is not top of the line but very good overall especially considering that this is waterproof, I use it at the gym, in the pool, steam room and hot tub. Battery last for days even when I forget to turn it off.

Sound is good. Range is also good. Hover the earpiece does not always seem to fit properly in the air. I think it is a little too small. I like the look and lightness of it. Sometimes if I have it around my neck I forget that it is there. The battery life on it is also great.

I am absolutely thrilled with my Shokz OpenRun Bone Conduction Headphones! These headphones have completely transformed my running experience. First and foremost, the open-ear design is a game-changer. I can enjoy my music and stay aware of my surroundings while running, which adds a significant safety element. No more worries about traffic or other potential hazards. But it's not just safety; the sound quality is exceptional. The bone conduction technology delivers crisp and clear audio without the need for in-ear buds. It's like having a personal concert without blocking external sounds. Battery life is another area where these headphones shine. They seem to last forever. I can go for long runs without worrying about them running out of power. They're a reliable companion for extended workouts. In terms of durability, Shokz has hit the mark. These headphones are sweatproof and built to last, making them perfect for my active lifestyle. What's even more remarkable is that I had an older version of Shokz headphones for about 2 years and loved them. It was just time for an upgrade, and these OpenRun headphones have truly exceeded my expectations. Lastly, the comfortable fit is worth mentioning. They stay in place, even during intense workouts, and I sometimes forget I'm wearing them. Overall, the Shokz OpenRun Bone Conduction Open-Ear Endurance Headphones have exceeded my expectations. They're a must-have for any athlete or outdoor enthusiast. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

    Excellent wireless headphones

Excellent wireless headphones with the added comfort of being light weight and above average sound quality. I purchased these AfterShokz 12 months ago for my Christmas present, primarily to use as a hands-free while driving and listening to music or pod casts, or while I workout, walk the dogs, biking, work around the house or anytime. At first I was skeptical of the design, but the comfort and functionality won me over. These will probably not win any awards (compared the the $250+ range headphones) for the most awesome sound quality and base, because if you listen with the volume on the headset too loud, it will vibrate your ears in an uncomfortable manner. This was expected, I bought these AfterShokz so that I could listen to ambient/noises around while enjoying music or phone calls. For this, they are perfect, and better than others I previously purchased. Sometimes I play with the volume on my phone and lower the volume on the headset to get it more comfortable. Sometimes ear buds that insert into my ears give me problems - like irritation in my ears, infections from sweating, vertigo, etc. I have worn my AfterShokz for 3+ hours at a time and they still feel comfortable. I have used many different type of ear buds, over the ear headphones (like Plantronics Backbeat FIT, Bose SoundSport, etc.), and I like these AfterShokz the most due to the comfort and sound combined with long battery life and simplistic design. I've never had an issue with these getting tangled with my COVID-19 mask or using the unique, magnetic charging cable. I highly recommend these to any outdoors enthusiast.

These are my first bone conduction headphones and I love them. I previously had galaxy pods that I overused to point of my ear bleeding, and these are the perfect alternative. The sound quality is very good, perhaps in ear headphones are slightly clearer. The Bluetooth connection is much more consistent than the $20 over ear bluetooth headphones I had. Battery life lasts you an entire day on the computer. These come with the massive plus that they don't hurt my ears or my head, which is what happens when I wear in ear headhones and over ear headphones, respectively. I love these bone conduction headphones, they are amazing.

Best all-around all-day wearing sound solution

This is not your average ordinary "earbud". It has a very different and unique use case which perhaps the low rating from Consumer Reports is not fair in comparing apples to apples. I have purchased numerous (25 +) headsets/earbuds over the past several year. Most of my purchases have been higher end such as Apple, Beats, Bose, Jabra, Jaybird, etc. I use wireless earbuds all day and even at night to help me sleep. In my opinion, there is no perfect earbud. I wish I could combine certain features into the ultimate earbud. I was very skeptical buying the AfterShokz Aeropex but extremely glad I tried because they are hands-down my favorite earbud. I currently have 5 major use cases for earbuds. 1. General All-Purpose Walk-Around earbuds 2. Listen to Music and drowned everything out buds 3. sleeping earbuds. 4. water resistant workout/walk/run/bike earbuds 5. conference call and business application buds. The Aeropex fits 1, 4 and 5 of my uses above any earbud I've every owned. The AFterShoz are extremely versatile and now my go-to buds that I use the most (replacing my AirPod Pros). What makes the Aftershokz great is I can wear them all day sometimes even having to feel around my neck to make sure they are there. There’s absolutely no ear fatigue since they do not go into the ear or ear canal. They are great because unlike other in-ear buds, I can hear everything around me and not have to take them in and out when someone comes up to talk or I divert my attention to something else. This is a great feature at the office, home, in the car or going to the store. These are also great for business calls. They are fantastic for working out especially running and biking where you need situational traffic awareness of your surroundings. They also are low profile and do not create an air vortex while biking. This is an issue with the Bose and Jabra which stick out of the ear. These are not my buds that I use to immerse myself in music. They are fine for listening to music while working, but I turn to my Bose or AirPod Pros if I want to relax to music. These are absolutely the best solution for podcasts. They are not as good for sleeping in or laying down. I use my Beats X for that since they have a very small in-ear bud. The water resistance very good and withstands the shower. They sync up quickly and easily with my iPhone. Pros - Extremely comfortable and surprisingly feather weight. Forget you have them on. - All day wearable with no ear fatigue - Great battery life - Multiple applications and uses. Best “All-Around” general use purpose. - Don’t have to take them in-and-out or off-and-on to talk with someone - Great battery life - Can use conventional earplugs to block out external sounds if needed - IP67 water resistance rating - Stays in place while active. - Very low profile. Not as noticeable to others when wearing. - Very little sound leakage (the sound can’t be heard by someone standing next to you) Cons - Battery takes 2 hours to fully charge - No way to turn of the notification beep that indicates you’ve been disconnected from your BT device - Battery notification only has high, med, and low indicators. Would be better to have power percentages in 20% increments - Bluetooth signal reception is not as strong as advertised. - Has a some physical vibration at the sound levels 9 and 10. Level 8 is sufficient for most uses. Not a deal breaker. - Switching between low and high modes is a bit difficult (pressing two buttons at once) while wearing and does not indicate the mode you changed to - Battery level indicator only has three levels (high, medium and low). Would be better with percentages in 20% increments. - Not as portable as true earbuds. - Sometimes you can’t tell that you have them on and have to physically feel for them to see if you are wearing Applications Great for: - Podcasts - Biking, running and walking (there is no wind vortex sound created like with other earbuds and has the best situational awareness hands down) - Sports practice (football, baseball, basketball, etc.) - Business setting, shopping, general walking around day-to-day use. - Phone calls (surprisingly good microphones) - Driving (if legal in your state) (again, you can hear your surroundings at the proper sound level while using) Good for: - Showering (IP67) - Music (fine for most people while exercising and working at the office) Not good for: - hard core music lovers - Bench pressing during weight training - Lying down flat - Sleeping - Teenagers looking to drown everyone out around them while listening to music Bottom Line: These are very worth trying. I was skeptical at first but highly highly recommend for the uses mentioned above. They are now my absolute favorite general all-purpose wear all-day sound solution. It is a very unique product with a very cool sound projection. The experience is similar to having your phone on speaker, but with much better, louder and clearer sound. They are great for business, shopping, running, biking, etc. Great taking phone calls, listening to music and podcasts while working throughout the day. You can use convention earplugs with these headphones if you’d like to block out the sound around you. If you’re looking for something to immerse yourself in music, look at Bose or AirPods Pro. If you’re looking for something that immerses yourself in music while working out and won’t fall out of your ear, check out PowerBeats3. If you’re looking for something to use to fall asleep, check out Beats X.

I broke down and got me a pair. As I have said with every review, I feel they are tight on my temples. They are an excellent choice in our industry in that we need to have our ears free and clear. The full size I don't like... too much band sticking out the back, I would suggest the mini's.

I recently bought the Shokz OpenRun Bone Conduction Headphones, and I must say, they are an intriguing piece of audio technology. First and foremost, the comfort level of these headphones is exceptional, however if you wear them as often as I do, they can become uncomfortable. The lightweight design and the absence of earbuds or over-ear cups make them incredibly comfortable to wear. Plus, they stay in place during physical activities, making them ideal for sports or outdoor use. The sound quality is surprisingly good. While the audio doesn't match the depth and richness of traditional headphones, the bone conduction technology delivers clear and crisp sound. The open-ear design allows you to stay aware of your surroundings, which is a significant safety advantage, especially for outdoor activities. However, in noisy environments, the sound can be affected by external interference, slightly compromising the listening experience. The built-in microphone ensures clear call quality during phone conversations. Battery life is amazing. With a single charge, I was able to use them for 16 hours of continuous playback. The charging process is hassle-free thanks to the included USB cable, and the quick charging feature provides a decent amount of playback time with just a short charging session. One draw back is that the bass response is not as pronounced as that of traditional headphones, which might disappoint bass enthusiasts. Overall, the headphones offer an innovative and comfortable listening experience. They excel in terms of comfort, connectivity, and battery life. If you prioritize situational awareness, such as during outdoor activities or while working, these headphones are worth considering. However, if you crave deep bass and complete noise isolation, you may want to explore other options.

They are comfortable. I waer them every day all day. At work, at home, at the park and in the car. They dont get in the way and can hear what I'm listening to as well as what is going on around me. Whenusing the loud dryers at work, (I groom dogs) I put in ear plugs and keep listening. Works as well as safty noise reduction earphones! They stay put even when dealing with uncooperative dogs. Oh, and I like the dound of these headphones better than my car speakers. Really last 8 hours while listening and longer if connected to my phone, but not actively listening. Calls are clear on both ends.

This is an all-around improvement over the cheaper OpenMove variant in terms of comfort, battery life, audio quality, and construction. In objective audio measurement tests, it even outperforms the OpenRun Pro due to more accurate mids and treble. But why oh why did they have to ruin it with a proprietary charging interface??? Now I have to carry an extra cable with me everywhere and have to constantly pack and unpack my cable everyday so I can charge both at home and on the go. If they had chosen USB-C as the charging interface, this would've easily been a perfect product. That aside, note that this is the best in class for every aspect. Understanding that weak bass is an inherant flaw in bone conduction tech today, the rest of the audio frequency range is spot on. Just note that your preferred listening content will make or break your feelings on the tech. Orchestra, acoustic guitar covers, podcasts, YouTube videos, Livestream, and calls are all great options for this; EDM, Bass n Drum, R&B not so much. Anything that relies on anything but the highest of bass frequencies is going to be practically non-existent from the mix. One thing I did note however is that plugged my ears with varying amounts of pressure could actually improve my perceived bass response. Those who use this alongside hearing protection is manufacturing jobs may very well find the bass to be better than other users.

This item is pretty good and exceeded my expectation of battery life. Day one: I left it playing for 8 hours straight, then turned it off. Day two: I let it play until it died (5 hours). Result: 13 hours of music play time. Sound quality isn't bad. I like it for working out, doing house work, working on my car/motorcycle. It's nice to be able to hear other things besides music/phone calls since it's not an in-ear headphone. Not good if you're looking for something with a lot of bass. Now to the bad. It has a proprietary charging cable. If you lose it then you'd have to buy another one. It's nice that it came with 2 charging cables, but having a proprietary charging cable makes it lose a star for me. They could have used either a USB-C or Micro USB connection. Also it's pretty pricey. If it were cheaper by $20 then I would consider that reasonable.

For me, these open ear Shokz are awesome. I wear glasses and a hat, and they don't get in the way of these Shokz. I have played singles tennis with lots of running and jumping, and these stay put. After a lot of sweating, you can easy wipe these off with something like a disinfectant, etc. The sound is not as intense as a closed ear headset, but that is expected and it fits my needs, because I want to be aware of my surroundings as well. I have worn them all day a couple of times, listening to music and answering calls, and no issues for 6-8 hours. I placed them on charge only because I thought I should, not because I needed to.

I bought this to solve a specific problem. When traveling, I like listening to podcasts or recorded books. My wife prefers to read. The radio annoys her and I don't like wearing ear buds while driving. These hit the sweet spot. Many of the reviews I read were spot on. These are great if your primary listening content is vocal. If you to listen to music and want the full range of frequencies, earbuds are the way to go. If you are participating in an activity where you want to hear everything around you but would like to hear music in the background, these "might" be suitable for you. The volume can get loud. At max you will feel the temple piece vibrating. (This is a physical transfer of sound to your temple bones, not to your eardrums.) Since I do not care to listen to high volumes this is not an issue with me. Other reviewers are split on this. One thing to note is when it comes to volume, your hearing will give priority to the eardrums. This may be an issue if you are using these in a noisy environment. The headset has a built in microphone. It is not smartphone quality but is good for short conversations. I have had mine for almost a month now and find I use them more than I thought I would. The fit is comfortable and I forget I have them on. (They come in two sizes, normal and small.) The controls are three physical buttons (+, -, multi-function) and are conveniently laid out. The basic button functions are simple. The User Guide reveals a greater functionality for the buttons. The battery life states 8 hours. I have use these close to 7 hours at approx 3/4 volume a couple of times without issue. I have not tested the blue-tooth range but surprised myself when I walk out a warehouse and over to my car to grab some tools. I noticed the connection cutting off and my phone was about 20 ft away and inside the building. My one complaint is the charging connection is not any of the current standards. They do provide two charging cables. So if you lose one, you still have a backup. Just don't loose both. Would I recommend these. Last week I thought I lost mine on a site I was at. Was considering buying another set (they are not cheap.) Luckily I found them. Would be nice if the included a find me feature.
