Very good sound quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased a Bluetooth speaker, and I am extremely satisfied with my choice. This speaker has exceeded my expectations in terms of sound quality, design, and functionality. Firstly, let's talk about the sound quality. The speaker delivers rich, clear, and immersive audio that truly fills the room. Whether I'm listening to my favorite tracks or watching a movie, the bass is deep and punchy, while the highs are crisp and detailed. The overall sound balance is exceptional, allowing me to enjoy a wide range of genres without any distortion or muddiness. The design of this Bluetooth speaker is also worth mentioning. It has a sleek and modern look that easily complements any decor. The compact size makes it portable and easy to carry around, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. The build quality is sturdy, and the controls are conveniently placed for effortless operation. When it comes to functionality, this speaker doesn't disappoint. Pairing it with my devices was a breeze, thanks to its reliable Bluetooth connectivity. It also supports multiple input options, such as AUX and USB, which adds versatility to its usage. Additionally, the battery life is impressive, allowing me to enjoy hours of uninterrupted playback on a single charge. Another noteworthy feature is the built-in microphone, which enables hands-free calling. The speaker picks up voices clearly, and the call quality is exceptional. This functionality has been particularly useful during conference calls or when I want to have a hands-free conversation with friends and family. Overall, I highly recommend this Bluetooth speaker to anyone in search of an excellent audio experience. Its remarkable sound quality, stylish design, and user-friendly features make it a standout product in its category. Whether you're hosting a party, going on a trip, or simply relaxing at home, this speaker will undoubtedly enhance your music listening experience.

Best sounding speaker with bass
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sonos 500 has amazing base. I was concerned that most of the speakers i was gonna buy had high Treble, but this one has such a rounded sound and strong Bass, that it made everything sound beautiful highly recommend cannot wait to buy another one. Super easy to set up definitely the way to go to surround sound in the house or apartment.

Next step up from Sonos Play – missing Google Asst
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker sounds great. It was super easy to setup and add to my Sonos app. Took literally just a minute or 2 to add. I have other Sonos speakers so already had the app downloaded, but adding it is a breeze. What’s great is after you name the room you have it in and setting the bass and treble to your liking in the app - you are ready to rock, literally. Bluetooth connectivity was a snap and the Sonos app easily lets you push your music all over the house to this and other Sonos speakers flawlessly and in sync. I tried all kinds of music and whether it’s bass heavy rap, rock, alt, dance, acoustic, jazz, classical, etc. they all sounded great and it’s a significant sound improvement over the Sonos One. It’s a bit bigger (maybe twice the width) of the Sonos One but has a much more spatial and a “full” sound to it. One note on placement - I tried it on a kitchen island and the bass was a little underwhelming. Then I moved it to near a wall to let the rear of the speaker have something to bounce / reflect off of and that's the bass magic. So recommend setting or mounting near a wall or corner for it to really reflect off of. So far 2 cons for me: 1) There is no option for Google assistant. We’re a Google house and this only supports Alexa and its own Sonos voice control. That said – I can tell my Google Homes and Sonos One’s via their Google assistant to play music to this speaker. 2) The other is I’ll have to upgrade my Sonos home theater Playbar with the new Sonos Arc to take advantage of the 7.1 Dolby Atmos that this speaker can pump out. If you are just setting up your home theater and going with the Arc, you’ll be happy with these as your Atmos surround. If you just want this as a great sounding spatial speaker in a room it really fills it up on its own.

Excellent Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent speaker. That really sums it up. I am not new to the Sonos ecosystem. I found myself lucky enough to get a Sonos powered Sonance outdoor/maritime speakers set a couple years ago. So when the opportunity came up for this, I knew I would be getting a high quality unit with superior sound. And indeed I did. First off, Sonos is a brand leader in the upper-end consumer accesible speakers. They do one thing (provide excellent sound quality) and they do it very well. In addition to providing great sound, they always deliver a very handsome package that fits into most environments and decor. The new Sonos Era 300 is quite possibly one of the best sound-engineering designs available to mass consumers. They have included 2 subwoofers (left and right), 2 tweeters on either side and a center channel tweeter. They also included a unique upper firing tweeter that provides Dolby Atmos for directional sound. Pretty imressive design. One unique design feature that Sonos includes in almost every speaker they make is in the interoperability among the Sonos family. To put it another way, you could take two of these speaker, combine it with one of their several soundbars and then put a couple Sonos One speakers into one ecosystem to get a truly immersive Dolby Atmos television experince. Or use the same speakers as a room filling music system. IN this case, the Era 300 also makes for an excellent stand alone speaker. The lows are rich, accurate and smooth. The mids are crisp, clean and clear. The highs are perfectly delivered and clean in every way. In all, an excellent room-filling speaker in a relatively small foot-print. The Sonos app is simple, solid and inclusive. Most all popular music services are supported and the integration is a natural transition into the Sonos app. You can also custom ize the EQ on the app if you have a preference for sound set up. Controls are great on the device too. A "sliding" touch on top of the speaker for volume. Play/pause and FWD/BKW are also via touch on top. You can also turn off the microphone completely via a switch on the back. End of the day, this is an excellent choice for almost any residence. I would whole-heartedly reccomend to a friend!

Ahead of it's time?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sonos Era 300 is an impressive smart speaker that’s been designed to take advantage of spatial audio. Even if your favorite songs don’t have a spatial audio version, the Sonos Era 300 still delivers a rich wide enveloping sound backed by a satisfying punchy bass. The price of admission it’s a pricey one, but for the type of sound quality coming out of this mid-size speaker in my opinion it’s well worth it. Coming in with 6 drivers (2 woofers and 4 tweeters) that have been arranged to provide an expansive soundstage. Right off the bat, I noticed how rich the music sounded and the bass not expecting it to be punchy like the way it hit. The highs are bright and the bass has some strong depth to it that doesn’t overpower everything else. The quality of music coming out of a single Era 300 is impressive can’t imagine how much better it would be with 2 of them paired together. If you happen to have a Sonos Dolby Atmos soundbar it can easily be integrated to provide a true theater-like experience. Even on a Bluetooth connection it still sounds amazing. You won’t be able to listen to any spatial audio music over Bluetooth. For the best audio quality, Wi-Fi is the way to go. Sonos does sell a line adapter that will allow you to plug in audio devices via an aux jack over the USB C port. The USB C port also supports an ethernet adapter if you prefer a much more stable connection. For set up there wasn’t much to it besides the plugin in the power cord and download of the Sonos app. Not only does the app provide firmware updates, and equalizer options but a neat feature called quick tuning that will tune in your speaker using the built-in mics. IOS users have access to advanced tuning that uses the mics from the IOS device instead. The Sonos app also allows you to set up voice assistance like Alexa or Sonos voice assistance. Unfortunately, there’s no support for Google Assistance or Siri. If you have any privacy concerns there’s a mic switch in the back that kills the power to the mic. The app also gains you access to some streaming music services like Sonos Radio, TuneIn, and iHeart Radio. You also have the option to add additional music services like Apple Music, Spotify, and many more. The app is not perfect though. When I added my YouTube Music account none of the music showed up. Even after multiple time removing and adding my account, I could not get it to work. For my Spotify account, I did not have any issues. Some of the shortcomings I’ve experienced are AirPlay connection dropping and no audio even if it shows currently playing with the volume not being on mute. For Android users, you’re left at the mercy of the Sonos app for Wi-Fi streaming. If your choice of music streaming is not compatible with the Sonos app you will have to fall back on Bluetooth for playback. Of these issues like drop connection, I’m not too worried about them since a firmware update can take care of it. What I would like to see in a future update is support for Cast Streaming and Google Voice assistant. Overall the Sonos Era 300 is an amazing-sounding speaker that will quickly have you falling in love with it. More songs are being remastered with Spatial Audio so sooner or later there’s a high chance your favorite song will be. Wi-Fi has become my favorite way of streaming music wireless due to its reliability and overall higher audio quality. The door is wide open for new features to be added via firmware updates. The future is bright for the Sonos Era 300.

Fills the room with sound!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one hefty speaker for the size. Filled with a bunch of speakers and amps. Setting it up is pretty simple once you have the app installed. You could just go straight to using the USB-C aux or Bluetooth, but the real advantages come in once the Sonos Era 300 is set up on WiFi and you get other options in the application. This speaker will fill any room with crisp, clear and loud music. Just by default it sounds amazing. Though the setting is buried several layers in the menus of the app on Android, you can control bass/treble and enable the Trueplay Tuning which plays a series of tones to help optimize the sound for the space you have the speaker. Though subtle, pending the environment, it can help give a better surround effect. Though I didn’t find any music to test out the Dolby Atmos, I could tell it was definitely taking advantage of the multiple drivers. With it streaming straight from WiFi, you don’t get the interruptions you may normally get with using Bluetooth on your phone. However, you can still control all of the music with your phone, with the touch sensitive controls or voice. The Sonos voice is simple and straight to the point. If you want more control like a smart home device, then you can enable Alexa and control more. Even though the music is streamed straight on the speaker, it still wants to keep the application running on your phone, which I found kind of odd as the speaker still allows control. Overall I find this speaker to be a lot more than just your typical smart speaker. Unless you listen to specific songs on Apple or Amazon Unlimited, there are only a few that make direct use of Dolby Atmos. But, the multiple speakers and surround effect of all music is what fills the space more than I have ever heard from a single speaker.

Sounds like a winner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Era 300 is the smallest standalone Sonos speaker to have an upward firing speaker, enabling Atmos and “Spatial” audio content. On its own, the Era 300 provides fantastic stereo audio and impressive spatial audio from a single speaker. While I roughly knew the dimensions before it arrived, the 10.25” W x 6.5” H x 7.25” D hour glass didn’t quite blend in as hoped. After finding an acoustically engineered location determined by my wife who was not impressed with the size, I put the chonky fella in our dining room. After updating the Sonos app, I was able to easily set up and tune the speaker. It is nice that the Era can tune itself, which I thought provided a nice tune that was more convenient than the traditional TruePlay. Still, I opted to perform Trueplay so that I could wander around the room like a drunk wizard. I played various Apple Music spatial and stereo mixes to see how well it sounded compared to a smaller speaker like my HomePod and quickly realized they aren’t in the same category which is not that surprising considering the Era 300 is physically larger. Immediately I was impressed by the sound stage, which I found to be wide and balanced. I found the audio to be very clear and well defined even at lower volumes. If you were so inclined to push the drivers beyond a whisper you will find they are more than capable of filling the room with expansive, distortion free audio. The bass is rich and punchy but not over shadowing the mid-range. Though I found the audio mix usually to be good, it is great that Sonos provides an EQ to tune it to your liking. They even provide an adjustment for the height channel, which I initially found a little soft even for my dungeon like 8ft ceilings. While listening to spatial tracks, you find familiar songs produced to take advantage of the format for better or worse. Listening to Pink Floyd’s Us and Them, the Era 300 enveloped the space with rich details that brought out the individual instruments bringing the feeling of being in a larger room with the band. Fleetwod Mac’s iconic Landslide sounded incredible, layering acoustic and electric guitars with the Nick’s soulful voice carrying throughout. Of course my 3-year old daughter found the speaker faithfully reproduced the soundtrack to Encanto just as she remembered it yesterday. If you happened a second Era 300, you can stereo pair them or add them to an existing Arc setup for the complete 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos experience. Overall I am left impressed with what you get even considering the size, which it would take a stereo pair of any other brand smart speakers to compete. If you are looking for a single speaker setup or have the space for two, the quality and performance of the Era 300 is hard to beat.

Great Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Sonos Era 300 black, It seems to be well built, sturdy, its physical appearance is a little unusual, like an hour glass look. It has a set of touch controls on the top panel, a USB-C port for line-in and ethernet ( optional adapters required), a Bluetooth toggle and a switch to physically disconnect the microphone on the back. Setting up the Era 300 is pretty simple, you’ll need to download the Sonos app to your phone and set up an account, from there, the app will look and see if there are any speakers to add. You’ll also need to log in to your audio services of choice. If you want to try spatial audio, you’ll need either Apple Music or Amazon Music Unlimited. You can search for and play music through the Sonos app, but there are also a bunch of options if you’d rather stick with the music apps you’re used to. It also has a feature called Trueplay, that tunes your speaker’s output based upon where it’s placed in your room, you can use this feature in the Sonos App. The Era 300 is a great speaker, It’s crisp, loud, and has lively bass. It's a loud, powerful speaker with deep bass. You can use it for multi-room audio with other Sonos speakers, and they can also be used as surround sound speakers with a Sonos soundbar. If you like using voice controls, you can also add a voice assistant to the Era 300, Setting up the Sonos assistant is a little easier than Alexa, because you don’t need to go linking your Amazon account. Overall, it is a good premium speaker that does a great job filling a room with sound!

An outstanding stand-alone streaming music machine
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been impressed by the quality of sound from this stand-alone streaming speaker. Excels at spatial audio but also sounds great reproducing “stereo” tracks. This has better clarity of voices and frequencies through the entire range than some other Sonos speakers (Move, One, Beam, e.g.). Everything sounds more accurately reproduced and less muddy or digitally sculpted than some Sonos products (see above). The bass response is impressive and fairly tight and clean. I tried pairing this with both the Sonos Sub Mini and Sonos Sub (Gen 3) — at separate times! — and neither sub added to the sonic experience. In fact, the Era 300 sounds much better by itself (including bass response), and I think this is because everything in its audio engineering and design is directed toward that use. I find it has plenty of oomph to fill a fairly large room well. I have it on the fireplace mantle in the corner of our 20’x20’ great room, and this speaker fills all of that just fine without straining. Oh, and I also like the distinctive and functional design/form of this speaker! Of course it’s got the great Sonos 2 app and Sonos interconnected audiosphere going for it. I recommend the Era 300.

Bang for your sound!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got a pair of these in the holidays, paired them with an Arc and 2 Gen 3 subs, boy oh boy they make a bang! Pros: Excellent sound quality: The Era 300s deliver clear, crisp audio with rich bass and impressive soundstage. They're particularly well-suited for Dolby Atmos content, providing a truly immersive listening experience. User-friendly Sonos ecosystem: The Era 300s seamlessly integrate with the Sonos ecosystem, making it easy to control them using the Sonos app, voice assistants, or your TV remote. Wireless and versatile: The Era 300s are completely wireless, so you don't have to worry about messy cables. They can also be used as standalone speakers or paired with other Sonos speakers for a surround sound system. Stylish design: The Era 300s have a sleek and modern design that looks good in any home. Cons: Expensive: The Era 300s are quite expensive, especially when compared to other wireless speakers on the market. Limited bass: While the bass is generally good, some users find it lacking, especially if you're used to a subwoofer. No HDMI input: The Era 300s don't have an HDMI input, so you can't connect them directly to your TV. You'll need to use an optical audio cable or connect them wirelessly through a Sonos soundbar. They have to be paired or unpaired in the app to listen between stereo (music) or Surround (movies), small inconvenience, but nothing major.

Seriously Breathtaking
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally got one of these as it fit the bill for what I was looking for in a smart speaker, and it blew me away. Dolby Atmos aside, it’s seriously impressive how well this speaker throws out sound to the sides, and honestly has a more defined L + R than a lot of soundbars that put the physical drivers much farther apart than on the Era 300. It also has a lot more bass output than you would expect for its size, especially given that its just 2 small woofers and 4 tweeters. I now have 2 in a stereo pair, and Atmos tracks on them are just mesmerizing, and even without any Sub I can get very impressive output in and below the 40HZ range. I really can’t belive these can be used as rears in a soundbar system, given that a single Era 300 blows a lot of soundbars themselves out of the water let alone the cheap rears most soundbars give you. I’m now looking at adding an Arc and 2 Gen 3 Subs, and hope that Sonos will add support to use an additional 300 pair without doing the crazy grouping method to make it happen. If you’re considering it, do it.

Unbelieveable sound
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a stand alone speaker for playing music in our dining room. From there, we can listen to music in our kitchen and living room as well. The Sonos App allows us to play music from multiple sources allowing us to play a huge variety of music. Installation and setup was a breeze. Playing music is just as simple. The sound is unbelievable. Bass is solid and strong, sound distribution is terrific and clarity is unreal. You would think we have a full audiophile system. But all of that sound is coming from this one small speaker and the Sonos App. The speaker looks great, and the form design and modern and pleasing. I can;t say enough about this speaker, other than to say get one. 5 stars from me.

Sonos Sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this open box in excellent condition for 20% off making it a better value. The speaker was shipped in the showroom box without a protective outer box and it had evidence of miss handling... so maybe it's better to get open box products directly from the store. Luckily the showroom box protected the speaker from damage. I'm using the speaker together with two Sonos One Gen2 speakers in a 400 sq/ft room to listen to streaming music. In general the set-up does well to create an immersive sound. The side firing drivers are like having two speakers back to back. The forward and upward drivers seem a little weak in comparison giving a less of an omni-directional feel than I had hoped. The base is tight and the sound is bright. It is excellent for being a wifi speaker, the best I've heard, however it lacks rich fullness of a good bookshelf speaker. The app is easy to use and setup is quick, but be ware that it want's access to your location and forces you to create an account (Still better than the HomePod which requires an iPhone to set-up).

Impressive Speaker!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So i give 5 stars when something exeeds my expectations. This does so. Okay, so I was interested in Sonos for a while now. I like the idea of linking them and using them differently depending on the situation. Prior to this though, i wasnt that impressed with the sound. It was good but not worth the price to me. I bought this after demoing a few stand-alone bluetooth enabled speakers at Best Buy. It sounded as good or better than most I tried. Of course this was complicated by the fact the demos are not set up to hear the same music from demo speaker to demo speaker. Still, the demo wasn't that impressive as it is in a big wide open space and cannot use its room "correction" software/magic, more later. First the sound, it is pretty good. There is enough of everything, bass, treble, and mids, that music sounds good. However, it does seem to be a bit softer in the mid range. This is where the app comes into play. The app is so full function, i dont know the half of it. This is how one can link multiple speakers, set up room correction, adjust an equalizer and the more I haven’t played with yet. This one little speaker is impressive, especially after set up and going through the room correction. Once the room correction is complete, the speaker becomes magic. It is impressive solo with music with decent bass, not bass-head bass but nice and tight for "regular" music. After the room correction though, something strange happens. You can walk around the room and the voice sounds like it follows you around the room. It is wierd and wonderful at the same time. This made me want to go get a second one immediately for two reasons; one, I really want to hear what this could do in stereo, and two, I want to play with this as part of a home theater. Good job Sonos! You converted me to your updated speakers. I suspect my next several speaker purchases will be Sonos so i can connect as a whole house system and play with home theater setups. This should be fun. Still a bit expensive though.

Setup was easy using the Sonos app. The bass is so good i dont think i will be getting an Arc sub. I do have an Arc soundbar that is paired with the Eras 300 and neither one over powers the other. Best speaker, immersive sound, incredible bass!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Sonos Era 300 and Apple Homepod 2 and the Era 300 beat the Homepod 2 in sound quality and build quality by far. I use the Era 300 on my desk and while the Era 300 provides plenty bass, it doesn't vibrate my desk, unlike the Homepod 2 which vibrated the desk so much it was uncomfortable resting my hands on the desk/keyboard. Most of the sound comes out of the top and sides creating a very immersive, less direct, sound. I also have the Sonos Move and this sounds so much better than the Move. Highly recommended!

All I need is this system with two ERA 300.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.IMHO these two speakers are all we need for great sound from any source. I replaced my Bose system (Soundbar 600 + subwoofer and two surround back, which the two bricks). Even without a subwoofer, those two emits great sound and bass. I tested the system by including a Sonos mini subwoofer, I didn't find any differences! I've been a hardcore Bose products for 35 years, but now Sonos captures my full attention. I have three home theater systems, one Bose's and two Sonos plus one ancient 7.2 wired for the living room. So far these ERA speakers impress me the most.
