Customers are saying

Customers love the Era 300 Smart Speaker's exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and solid bass. Many appreciate the Dolby Atmos feature and the speaker's sleek design, while some find the setup quick and easy. However, the high price point is a common concern among some customers, as is the need for improvement in the accompanying app.

Unfortunate return for a GREAT SOUND

The speaker sound GREAT! The first couple of days we had it, it worked perfectly. Then there was a firmware update (which ended up to be 3 in total over roughly 2 weeks). It was ruined at that point and would not work as we want/it did originally with Alexa devices. We waited to see if Sonos would support and fix the problem. But with a little research we discovered that ALL Sonos products were suffering the same issues. Others were commenting on how they contacted the company and went MUCH further than we did to attempt to MAKE it work. All other posters were returning their items if they could. Like I said, WONDERFUL sound! Perfect size for what we needed! Unfortunately, no support from Sonos and no fix over the holidays led to a return.

Speakers are awesome-Best Buy not so much

So I bought a pair of these and matching Stanus stands. The speakers hooked up to Sonos almost instantly and added amazing depth of sound in Atmos on streaming and ps5 even without the front speaker working as surrounds. My problem was with Best Buy in Fort Collins. I purchased the speakers first thing in the morning and was told they would be at the front counter when I come back in 2 hours. Two hours later I go to the front counter and see the speakers in the back. The customer service assistant gives me the stands and one speaker. I ordered the speakers as a pair. She said only one was on the order and at this point the Manager was called over. He then explained to me that someone online must have ordered a speaker at the same time that I purchased mine. So he wasn’t going to give me my speakers in the off chance the other customer came by. After 30 minutes of arguing I finally left with the speakers, but this should never of happened. I bought a router the week before in Loveland and it was an excellent experience. Just won’t go back to Fort Collins anytime soon.

It's not easy to setup with Arc. Compatibility issues with its own product when switching between different audio source . Good sound but bass is too much to handle

I admit i'm biased as i've had bad experiences with sonos. I already returned these to best buy. Sound is great. The app to run it is drek. You can connect via bluetooth easy enough which to me works better than the stupid app. Again, sound is great. But not worth it.

My origianl sonos system was the playbar sub and two play ones the original ones. Over time i have upgraded to the arc and this was the next upgrade play ones to era 300. I was hesitant because i mainly use mine for TV but after all the reviews that said these are outstanding i pulled the trigger almost $1200 with the new stands. I was underwhelmed to say the least after hooking them up. True play made a difference but ultimately i couldnt justify the purchase. Also we have an open concept living room and these speakers are kind of ugly when on the side of our sectional couch. My wife kept saying they look like ET’s head. The spacial music sounds great but is it $900 better them my old play ones… absolutely not. Returning for the ERA 100’s if anything just for the look

I am a huge Sonos fan and have owned all of their products over the years. The Era 300 came with a decent amount of hype that for me didn't turn into reality. A pair of the Era 300s really struggled to fill a larger room. The Atmos (spacial) really added little except more of an echo type of effect. I can see these for surround speakers. I put Play fives in the same positions and they were fantastic, night and day difference. The Era 300 would probably work in smaller rooms, but I just didn't see the value.

The speaker is great, let's get that out of the way. It sounds exactly like you would expect a speaker in this size and price bracket to sound. If you happen to be swimming in money and buy two, im sure the Stereo festure of the speakers would be nothing short of great...That said, Sonos as a company is very tight-gripped about how you use their products. It says something that you have to buy a speaker at this price point to be able to have a Line In connection and Bluetooth capability - and even then, only through a first party Line In connector which is $20. Sonos tries too hard to be a chic one-stop-shop and really wants to rake in the cash from being a gated community - similar to Apple.

I love Sonos products and was really excited about this speaker coming out. I watched all of the in depth interviews, etc. For the price point, the speaker lacked punch. It will sound good in smaller rooms and used for rear surround speakers. I will be returning my Era 300 and will wait for a possible ERA 500 (upgrade from the Sonos five that i really love) .. disappointed

Purchased for a 150 sq ft home office that was recently renovated. The construction quality and controls are very good, however the audio quality is not very good... especially compared to a competent pair of bookshelf speakers being decently driven. My experience with other Sonos products is that usually performing the TruePlay tuning improves things quite a bit, but even after trying that and trying the speaker in four different locations in the room I just couldn't get what I would call "good" performance out of it, especially at this price. Vocals sound compressed and there's a tendency for the mid-range to resonate off of anything near the speaker creating unwanted acoustic reflections. The speaker is designed for Dolby Atmos which also limits the options for placing it. For example, it won't work well if you put it in a bookcase. Sadly I will be returning this. Probably get a Sonos Amp and hook it up to some decent bookshelf speakers.

Great speaker if you’re looking for a middle of the road speaker in terms of its size on the sonos lineup of standalone speakers but I must say, the 3 star is for sure because of the audio quality compared and the price tag. They dont match… for $100 more you can buy a sonos five that can rock the picure frames off your walls - the era 300 cannot. Im sure some of that cost has to do with its capabilities that previously launched speakers dont have but I couldnt fathom the price tag for the audio quality im after. Even in my home I wasnt all that impressed with the immersive up firing audio, I still felt like it was no match to my fives.

The Speakers themselves are topnotch. The app on the other hand, not so much. It doesn't let you use them to their full potential when in surround. Returned.

We purchased 2 of these speakers two weeks apart. The first was a cinch to set up, the second is nothing short of a nightmare. No matter how many times I reset to factory settings it will not register. When I call customer support the wait time is at least 60 minutes.

Enjoying my speaker when paired to my record player but when I pair it to my phone I have to unplug my speaker and move it close to our network tower in home or else my music cuts in and out while listening. If it wasn’t for this I’d give it 5 stars. Just think an almost 500 hundred dollar speaker shouldn’t do that.
