PROS: Exceptional picture quality, loves to see 4K videos really crystal clear in LED TV cost. CONS: little bit weird remote control not designed aesthetically, specially when you use for APPs return button and up/down/right/left buttons are very close. But all are forgiven for best in class picture engine and screen colors

The 40" SONY smart TV is very nice. Great color, loaded with extras that I wasn't aware of in the store. Only thing I don't like is the remote control. For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to put channel and volume controls at the very bottom - almost need two hands to use it.... but, it is a wonderful picture!

Good picture. Disappointed that the remote includes regular and analog stations. Wish all instructions were printed in booklet. Would like to have the stand lift the TV another inch or two.

Nice picture. Easy to set up. Works well. Remote control is not quite as user friendly as I would like. Overall quality is up to Sony standards. Recommended purchase.

Bought this tv to replace and older Vizio tv. What a difference! Great picture and good sound with built-in speakers. Built-in apps for Netflix and Amazon Prime are great. My only complaint is with the remote control which ( like many others) is confusing to use.

The picture is very, crisp with vivid colors. The only component that could be better is the remote. My older Sony had a complete keyboard which was nice to be able to key in the letters. With this remote, you have to use the arrow keys which is very slow for me. Overall, I am very happy with the unit.

I love this TV! The picture quality is superb! The remote operation is not as good as I wood like, but has all the bells and whistles that I love..

The TV is fine. We think of it as having an internalized Roku for streaming Netflix, Hulu etc. The Internet browser (Opera?) inside the TV is a big disappointment. There are so many things it cannot do. It is extremely rudimentary. Also, learning any new remote can be a pain, but I suspect the ergonomics of this one is a bit off. It is very easy to hit the wrong button and get way off task. We discussed returning the TV but I don't think other smart TVs have better browsers.

got use one had a laptop charger instead of tv hook up took it to store .They gave full trade in value for new Sony well you no it got bigger one with all the toys on it. had ordered 2 of the used ones 2nd one came in well it had wrong remote set it up with the other remote did not care for it took it back to store got full credit on m y card .Just think No other store would take every thing back an treat you like a real person. WELL BEST BUY HAS ALL MY BUSINESS FROM NOW ON.

Pros: TV pciture quality is excellent, Sound is good, Plays Youtube perfectly without a streaming box as it is gaming model. Cons: Bulky compared to other models, Take a lot of time to load Smart Apps, Remote does not have a backlight. Search is not intuitive, Apps are limited. Still not a bad TV to use.

Nice picture. When you first turn on the tv, remote takes a while to work. Disappointed that the tv only comes with certain apps on it, and free sites like PBS or regular Hulu (not Hulu Plus) are not available, and I've searched for ways to load my own apps on the tv but have had no success. I have also tried with no success to manually type in sites and to select and watch videos, but have had no success.

Really like the tv, it is being used in a museum gallery to showcase photos of visitor projects. The Play Memories app makes it really easy. Great picture and color. The only downside is the remote is a little confusing.

Very happy with this tv. It takes 10-15 seconds for the remote to work after turning the tv on, but not an issue for me.

I got the KDL40-W600B online here for $429.99, with free shipping to store, plus tax. I've had it now for three months, since 9/14/14. I write this review because reviews here helped me to know what to expect in real homes, not just store displays, and helped me decide on this TV. I'll mention here primarily the items I wasn't able to find in reviews when I was shopping. Yes, the picture is excellent, but requires a few tweaks. Using calibration gear, I arrived at the following custom settings; backlight=Max, picture=85; brightness=50; color=47; hue=0; color temp=neutral; sharpness=20; everything else off or 0 except reality creation=Auto and in the advanced settings>white balance menu, R-Gain= -12. This gives a well balanced picture across all TV channels and DVDs, and prevents red "clay facing" so you can see faces and not just exaggerated makeup. Try these, but your results and preferences may differ. Technically this reduces color over-saturation, particularly the in the reds. This TV's over-the-air reception is by far the best among four other TV receivers we have, but tuning is slow. Smart TV features work fine, but i have a PC for that and find them easier to use on the PC. A few gripes, but I'll mention just two. No sleep button on the remote. Although the last channel plays within seconds after the TV is turned on, all features are not available until about 30 seconds when the TV is fully powered on. I bought this TV mainly for its excellent picture quality for the price, and for that it delivers superbly.

When I hooked the TV up my only issue is that the direct tv remote volume controller does not work with the TV. I have to use the remote that came with the tv to adjust volume.

Overall good. Could use a faster remote and User Interface
