    Nothing but bad luck

    The first TV I bought from Best Buy arrived without a power cord, power adapter, or remote. They gave me a $25 store credit so that I could buy universe stuff to remedy the problem, even though universal adapters don't work with this TV). Sony wanted $125 to send me the missing parts. So I returned the TV to Best Buy and got a refund (but only after arguing to not pay their restocking fee). Then I purchased the same TV directly from Sony and the TV lasted exactly one week before breaking. Sony promises to replace it. It's been three weeks, and no one at Sony has any clear record of what's going on. Needless to say, I'm a bit ticked off. Sony and Best Buy, meanwhile, continue to send me emails asking if I want to extend my warranty and asking me how much I enjoy my new TV. It's almost funny, except that it's not.

    Plans for this TV won't repair and won't replace

    Okay, I'm not really writing a review for the TV, because guess what? The screen is completely cracked from shipment. Called Best Buy for a repair/ replacement and they say they couldn't because I didn't have the right plan for the damage. Best Buy, you only had two options listed. A two year protection plan and a five year one. None of which had an option for the Accidental Damage Handling. I am really upset about this. Please tell me my options for dealing with this disaster.

    SONY's quality is bad these days. Had 2 BRAVIAs, first worked for 2 years and died. According to fault codes (flashing red light) figured out it was bad power supply. Second one worked for 20 days, died. Fault codes told me that there were 3 possible issues. Had to return it. Best Buy manager was kind enough to give me a chance to pick another brand, although I was 6 days over return policy date. The best advice - TV brand is up to you. But, spend 50-60 more dollars and buy yourself a protection plan.

    Terrible TV do not purchase this at all stopped working on the 29th day. Then we received the run around from best buy and Sony still awaiting a repair service 1 week later.

    Do Not Buy This Product

    Tv worked great for two weeks then the problems started. Called customer service and they were no help. Since it was after the 14 days purchase Best Buy told me they would look at it for a $35 fee and if they found it was defective then they would try and fix it and bill Sony. I've been on the phone with Sony and everyone I've spoken to has said I would get called back which hasn't happened. Do not buy this product.

    I was told it was easy setting up use internet...NOT. Sony makes it very difficult to/impossible to find search engines. I went online for help and found this as a common complaint for the Sony Smart TV's. If I was told this prior to buying, I would have bought a different TV.

    Was not satisfied with performance and ease of the programs. Difficult to set up and was not user friendly. Returned to store and purchased a Samsung with no problems.

    In 26 days this tv intermittenly does not turn on, 2 of the major apps we use do not work, the SONY app to order movies charged us and the movie never played, SONYcustomer service said there was nothing they could do and refused to refund us for the movie and the sound levels change randomly. This was the first smart tv/flat screen I have pruchased. I miss my old tube TV that had no issues for the 12 years I owned it.

    This TV screen breaks without me doing nothing to it and I did not realize this until I took it to the store to have it looked at, that was when I was told, and the store refused to exchange it and the make me have to buy another TV. That is not a good customer service when your associates and techs literarily call the customer a liar. That is very disappointing especially to a loyal customer.

    I know this model before. 1st delivered one was damaged. Exchang arrangement was awful. Second one was one year old made than 1st one. This was worst experience.

    Terrible television. Worked for less that three hours. Turned it off and it would not turn back on. Took it back and replaced it with a Samsung.

    Love the picture. Sound a little weak, but acceptable. However...there is an unacceptable lag between pushing one of the dedicated buttons on the remote and seeing any action on the TV. Moreover, I have had the EXACT same experience as Lostinnh relative to apps that suddenly give me a message indicating lost connectivity with the Internet. To resolve this issue, we typically have to cycle the TV power on and off three or more times. It gets old, quickly--especially when Internet connectivity tests confirm that we have 30 Mbps of active bandwidth available. The only thing that we have not done yet is to swap out our three-week-old TV. Given the overwhelming number of positive reviews that don't mention this type of issue, I suspect a bad batch of processors in a run of TVs. If that's the case, then my suggestion is that Sony track down that run via serial numbers of affected owners, like Lostinnh and myself, and replace our sets with units from a different run altogether, as going back to the same BestBuy for a switcheroo is likely to just result in a swap for another set from the same batch with the defective processors.

    Purchased this tv in December 2014, in July the HDMI inputs stopped working while i was on vacation...I would give it 5 stars as it is a Wonderful TV, but i cannot since it is now useless...I just wish Sony Support was better, After 3 calls to Sony Support promising to send someone to repair it and 11 days of nobody calling me back to setup an appointment, I cannot give this more than one star as I am basically getting the runaround between Sony support and the repair company they want to send out...Very disappointed and getting ready to dispute the charges on my BestBuy card and throw the TV in the trash...

    Don't buy this TV and don't get rubbed for the following reasons. I would have been far better off if Instead of this tv I had bought a non-smart tv and a dongle such as Roku or a Amazon or Chrome donggle . Other than the Netflix app, the rest of their apps are useless. No major networks apps. You are paying $200 extra for it being smart while it is not. You do get netflix and crackle, big deal. You get these tow on any smart dongle as I said, plus with something like a Roku one can watch iphone ipad content on TV You can NOT MIRROR content from your iPhone or IPad on this TV. The mirroring only works with SONY smart phones and Tablets. I personally do not know Anyone who owns a Sony phone in USA. So there again it's a dumb tv for US customers. THERE IS NO BLUETOOTH CAPABILITY. Seriously Sony!!!!??? In this day an age of wireless speakers, keyboards and headphones etc this so called smart tv lacks a major requirement for a smart tv. EXTREMELY SLOW: when you turn on thetv you must wait a few minutes before the TV starts functioning. Changing channels takes for ever ! Final words: you are better off with a non smart tv and a dongle than this tv. The picture is alright, the sound is mediocre. But not a very smart tv

    Be careful if you are to wall mount

    What was Sony thinking when they designed this TV? I purchased it at Best Buy and took it right back the next day. It is probably the worst model if you are planning to wall mount. The power cord is just about 12" long. In my bedroom my old TV (first generation flat panel TV) is mounted at 8 feet high, since that is the correct viewing angle if lying on the bed and watching. My sockets are almost at the ground level and there is no way to power up the TV, Best Buy wanted to sell me an extender for $100 to solve the issue. Secondly, this TV does not have a built in DC converter; it is a part of the power cord, which makes it even more of a hassle. Oh SONY, I am a fan of Sony products, but not this TV!!!

    Remote quit the second day

    The remote started working sporadically the second day I had the TV. Sometimes it wouldn't even turn the TV on. I followed the directions to recover the TV operation, but it did no good most of the time. I returned the set to Best Buy and bought a LG set, which was easier to set up and worked immediately. I have owned LG sets for several years and have found them very dependable. My Sony was overpriced junk.

    And that's where it ends. TV takes forever to do anything after you press a button on the remote. You can actually sit there a press a button over and over again and nothing starts. Biggest problem is the Wifi adapter. I already exchanged this set for a brand new one and they both do the same thing. I will be watching Netflix or VUDU, and the TV loses the connection to the internet. It will be still logged into my network, but not reach the internet. Sometimes it drops it all. I've used manual and auto setup for it. When it stops working, I go into the manual setup, just click through what I previously set and just re-save and it all of sudden works again. Error 1106 or just says it stopped connection not working most of the time. Two brand new TVs that lose their access to the internet. I did all the troubleshooting the forum said and none of my other devices (desktops, laptops and smart phones) lose the internet. Just poor coding on the network cards in these things. Its really a shame since I loved the picture and the feature of playing PS3 games or PS4 streaming from servers or my own PS4. I will be returning this set and probably just stick with LG or Samsung

    I find it crazy that a 450.00 dollar tv does not have the ability to program the remote to use a cable box. Even the most basic tv has this. Packed up in box and going back to store.
