I wanted a larger screen TV for my apartment - but not so big as to overwhelm the living space. I found it in the Sony Bravia with a 49” screen. I love the sharp picture and I trust the Sony brand. I paid to have it delivered, and to have the technician brief me on this smart TV. I am more than satisfied with my purchase, especially since it was on sale.

This TV was easy to setup. Once hooked up to cable, the colors are incredible, even without the enhanced signals.

I'm a Sony man. Always have been. So, when I need a t.v. I go straight for Sony! I never even consider another brand. We got our Ethan Allen t.v. stand as a wedding gift 35 years ago. We didn't want any larger tv. Because it wouldn't fit the stand. We're not getting rid of the stand. It has sentimental value! This is the perfect tv for us! It's got all kinds of adjustment and features! Thanks! Sony and Best Buy you've hit a home run!

I don't normally go to Sony, but in talking with a store rep and comparing brands side-by-side, I decided to go with this model. Very happy I did. The picture is excellent. Colors are vibrant and true. Interface is easy to get used to. And set up was a breeze! The TV automatically picked up the external sound bar, and the TV remote controls the volume. No need to use the sound bar remote! Overall very satisfied with this purchase so far.

The set has an excellent picture but we find it to be sluggish in responding to the remote. The remote itself is weak as well. If you trying using it with anything in front of the ir, the tv fails to detect it. Even when it does, the set takes up to 10 seconds to respond. Trying to find features is also laborious, like trying to use the picture in picture feature. There is little instructions of help guides. There seems to be more emphasis on getting you to use or load apps than making it easy to use. Also tweaking the picture to your liking has been severely restricted. We have a KDL-32L5000 which allows us to adjust the color to our liking, we can even turn the color all the way down to black & white. This unit remote doesn't suffer the same weak IR strenght. This set has a 60 hz refresh rate. The picture comparison between the two is frankly not a disappointment. Sony has never been lax in making sure their tv's picture quality is superb regardless of model from the very least expensive, to the top of the line. Though the quality of picture in the X800 is definitely richer. This set replaces my old Mitsubishi 65" which was a disappointment from the outset. We purchased the projection tv brand new and the set broke down 3 times in 6 months! Though Mitsubishi made good by contacting me directly via land line and in writing, extending the warranty to 2 years and promising that they would replace the set if it broke down anytime within that period. We've never had a Sony set break down, even the 13 inch we purchased in 1985 still worked till we gave that set away. I hope this helps.

I purchased: Rocketfish 4' 4K Ultra HD, part #SKU:3720002 Peerless AV 32-50 inch TV's part number SKU:34570203 Sony 49 LED model XBR49x800G part# SKU:6326673 Reading other reviews, you can program the TV to come on to the same source every time even after weeks later. Yes the DirectTV remote will turn the TV on and off and work volume. Anything else like Netflix will require the TVs original remote. The way you program the DirecTV to run the sony TV, is use the DirecTV menu and program it that way. Not getting the TV to recognize the DirecTV remote.. Took only a minute for this. Delete the old TV and search for the new TV brand and model. I actually have my cable plugged into the 4th port by mistake, you have the option to name that port, mine is called "receiver" now. So don't let the reviews bother you.. It will take some time to get the TV set up. So go slow, even if you program it wrong you can go back and change what the TV (receiver) turns on to. The cable $9.99 Rocketfish 4' 4K Ultra HD, part #SKU:3720002 I have no complaints, it works like a champ and the picture is awesome. I'm glad I didn't pay a fortune for any other. The TV mount. $49.00 (think that's right the right price) Peerless AV fits TVs 32-50 part number SKU 4570203. Again this fit my sony TV like a glove. It isn't that hard to mount to a wall with the two large wood screws provided. My tv weighs around 25-30 lbs. so this is well within the weight limit from the manufacturer. My only problem is there was two screws missing that keep the TV from tilting side to side. They screw trough the arm bracket into the plate that bolts up to the back of the TV. Mine is in a corner so it can't tilt. But on a flat wall it might get old straightening the TV if something bumped it. It can't fall even without the screws. But it would allow the TV to tilt sharply. Again I'm so happy I didn't spend a lot of money I haven't contacted the peerless folks about this yet. All in all what I purchased works like a charm. Just remember when reading reviews some folks just don't understand how things work.

The picture right out of the box is great. The color and contrast are well balanced and life like. It's used as a bedroom tv so the sound is more than adequate. However, if used differently I would get a sound bar. My only complaint is the lack of adequate instructions on setting it up. If you're a techy I'm sure you would have no problem. But, if you're not it can be confusing. A little more in depth and step by step instructions in a manual would be a great help. Overall a great tv for the money and would highly recommend it

I am a Sony lover...every tv I've had has been a Sony...they last forever...I've only replaced them because newer ones come out. This tv is a new one this year...and is available for a great price...and gives you a superb picture...sound is also good...but sound bars are available that are compatible...if you are into surround sound.

I like Sony products. Yet, this is the first Sony TV I have ever bought. The image is excellent and my DVDs and Blu-Rays look great. I am very satisfied with the size which is very convenient for my small living room. As of the date of this review, I have had it for a short time, but so far, I believe it is a great purchase.

I bought this tv to replace an older tv. Love that everything can be streamed at one spot with one remote. TV is nice and bright and doesn’t have any dimming looking viewing it from an wide angle. Loved that it was light enough and small enough to fit in my back seat and I didn’t need to have any help to move it. Super easy to set up as well.

This model was a replacement for a 48W650D Sony model purchased from Best Buy only 3 years ago; I had a 5-year service/replacement warranty, but had to pay the difference in price (about $250) in order to stay with a replacement model from Sony (an upgrade to 4K) and not settle for a Samsung 4K replacement. I love the picture and sound quality with Sony, but was disappointed that the earlier model I had had such a short life before its breakdown. (Picture went blank, while sound stayed on--very strange, and it apparently stumped the technicians who came to try to repair it.) Hopefully this one will be more dependable. If not, I'll be changing my long held Sony customer loyalty!

This is the third in a series of Sony 4K UHD TV purchases for our home. This one was for a guest bedroom and happened to be chosen because it fit perfectly into an alcove or niche. It was easy to assemble, set up and activate the perfect choice.
