Excellent price. Sounds great. Android auto is a must now a days and it works fine. Installed it in my Mitsubishi Outlander and looks like if it was installed in the factory. Very happy with this stereo.

Bought for a 2014 Jeep Patriot. The vehicle doesn't have steering wheel controls but they still had us buy the $99 harness. The unit is narrower than our stock one but the functionality is great! My wife has an iPhone so she loves the apple carplay feature. It makes things so easy. This unit doesn't have gps built in but uses your phone to provide this. This means, when connected to the stereo, you get navigation and elmost features of your phone. (Calling, texts, navigation, contacts, and music). There is no disk player but we have not played a CD in years anyway. Stereos like this take a few seconds to come on once you start the car so it's not instantaneous like stock cheaper units with no screen. Makes sense as it is a mini computer.

I always went with pioneer for car audio units. Ever since the super tuner 1,2 and 3 days. Great price for the headunit itself especially since they were sold out of the cheaper model that I wanted and they agreed to sell this radio to me at the price of the other one. Lakeland store has the best customer service.

After browsing a bunch of aftermarket radios with Apple Car Play I finally found this one and had Geek Squad install it I will add that they installed it within an hour and did a great electrical job. Once the radio was installed I played around with the radio the touch responsiveness is great the Bluetooth auto connect is fairly fast. The light from the screen at night isn’t too too bright but just rite and even better it works with complicated cars like my Volkswagen oh yea and it’s Sony!

This is an excellent head unit, all features listed work. I tried it with my iPhone 5S and immediately started Apple car play. Android auto works as soon as you download the app into your phone. The only issues I have are that while connected to android auto, Prime music does not work, Pandora works just fine, but I use prime music. I have not tried updating the firmware yet. I wish you could use google maps while listening to music from a usb flash drive but the smartphone has to be plugged in thru USB and only one port is available. The sound is really good and it kind of makes me want to upgrade the speakers in my car. It was a very easy install, I did not purchase the USB harness so now I have an extra USB cable and the original USB does not work anymore.

Please excuse the blown out colors in the image -- it is hard to get the exposure right. I installed the head unit myself in a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. I used the following parts: - Metra 70-8114 - Metra 70-1761 - Metra 95-8214TG - Metra Axxess ASWC-1 The above wiring harnesses allowed me to preserve the existing wires on my truck and avoid splicing any of them. After hooking up all of the connections the head unit powered on without issue. I primarily use Apple CarPlay (which is fantastic for what it is); however, even the stock interface is terrific and meshes well with Apple's. The resistive touch screen is responsive enough that you could ALMOST be fooled into thinking that it is capacitive -- it is, without a doubt, the best resistive display I have ever used. As a benefit over capacitive for this use case, you can use the display with gloves. Aside from the above, the display is responsive with good contrast and brightness. The controls are intuitive and straight forward. Featurewise, the combination of a solid base operating system combined with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay represent a great combination. The head unit has USB input as well as an RCA input for a backup camera. The inclusion of these features negates the need for a traditional 3.5mm auxiliary jack or [legacy] CD/DVD player. Unfortunately, it does not include HD Radio (or Satellite Radio); however, for the price this is easily justified. I would easily recommend this to anyone who is looking to jump into Android Auto or Apple CarPlay with a terrific head unit to backup those features.

I bought this unit because it had back up cam, and navigation. But it's not a true navigation, which it's better. It's has the android auto, which 100x easier then most navigation systems. It's good maps! Just say OK Google, and tell it where you want to go, like a stores name and it directing you instantly. I've got a Samsung Galaxy s8 and it works great with hands free calling, reading text message, responding to text, and playing your music on Google play. I've got Google play service so I can pretty much say OK Google play any song there is , and it does. It also has apps like Spotify, Pandora, audible, or whatever you've got on your Android phone. You have to plug it in, but I navigatedon't from Georgia to florida and had it plugged in the whole time and it never overheated like it would have straight plugged to a charger and navigating without this radio. The android auto show you contacts picture on the full screen when they call and it's super easy to use. Only thing I wish could be better is the saved radio station buttons and the channel surfing buttons are kind of small and not super easy when driving.

The auto techs at the Gainesville location helped me to make my decision in purchasing this unit. If you have the space in your dash, and want a simple to use interface, this is it. It looks clean on my 07 Honda ridgeline and still left space for the storage compartment below. I have used this product with both android auto and apple car play and they both work seamlessly. I hate to say it, but I think Apple CarPlay works a little better than the Android Auto. Or it's at least more user friendly. Controls can be done via voice for both - calls, texts, music searches, directions (maps and waze) etc. And you can move seamlessly between the apps via the touch screen. It has been a great improvement in my vehicle and to my driving experience. My stock head unit didn't have capabilities for aux or bluetooth so this is a great upgrade with some of the most recent technology.

This unit is fantastic! I chose this one because it had a very OEM like look to it. In addition, the CarPlay control to me is better than the Alpine ilx-007. I also liked the fact that this unit has Bluetooth in addition to CarPlay. So for the quick drives where it seems unnecessary to plug the lightning cable in, I can still take a call or play music. Installation was very straight forward with the assistance of the PAC harness for my truck. I also like that the unit is not very deep, and did not require any cutting to fit unlike some other units I’ve used in the past.

What I love. Back up camera. Sound quality is a huge step up from the factory Harmon Kardon which was pretty good. Maps on the big screen. I find Siri to be more effective on this in a wrangler than on the phone. Looks great. But that’s not the only reason I bought it. CarPlay could be sooooo cool. Half the time it works just fine. Half the time with pandora and Sirius Xm it just spins and gets stuck. Way too much work to get a station to play. With the positives I will reluctantly recommend this as long as you understand CarPlay is a real challenge

I always go for sony stereo receivers if possible, I don't like the others at all for so many reasons, too much junk to hard to set up ect. I was exited to see sony finally come out with a double din, I love it, it has a knob. not stupid buttons that you have to find in the button field and hit 40 times to turn it up or down when needed. the touch screen works great, camera has adjustable lines, thats cool, sounds awesome as always, easy to hook up. works with apple or android, (hook up all the wires, including reverse and parking brake) youll need those for some features. I can easily black out the screen at night and tap to light it back up, I love this feature. it does everything I need it to.

No matter what stereo your car has now, the Sony XAV-AX100 will definitely offer you much more. This receiver has excellent sound quality along with sharp graphics. It is also very easy to learn how to navigate through the user interface. I would definatly recommend this stereo receiver to anyone that I know.

...and not much else. But that's a good thing in my mind. With the bloat gone the price is about half that of other options. All I wanted was Android auto and I didn't need the frills so why pay for them? It's good at what it does too. This unit comes out on the right side of being inexpensive but not cheap. I have it hooked to a backup camera and it's nice and responsive. Touch screen and interface respond quickly as well. Absolutely zero complaints. If you want tons of features this may not be for you, but if you just want the most cost effective way to get Android Auto/Apple Carplay and a touch screen in your car then this is perfect.

This is a great source unit with tons of features for what you pay. The plain ol' Sony UI is minimalistic and attractive in my opinion -- a lot of the competing source units in this space still have "space ship control panel"-looking GUIs. PRO: Android Auto and Apple Car Play support Clean/minimal design (physical and UI) Good third party support thanks to Open Source Sony kernel Customizable steering wheel control support means you don't need a fancy $50+ adapter for a lot of cars Price CON: No HD Radio No CD/DVD drive No aux input other than USB
