I purchased this unit to replace the original radio/navigation unit that was in my 2003 MB ML500. I had the unit installed by Best Buy and it works perfect using both Android and Apple.. I continue to use the original Bose speakers that came with the car, the only change being the sub woofer is disconnected. However, you would not notice the lack of a sub woofer as the sound is great. The unit boots quickly, and the backup camera I had installed with the unit turns on right away as soon as I go into reverse. Considering the price an excellent unit.

Works as expected, sound quality much better than stock, and apple car play is a huge improvement over Bluetooth. Car play does only work with a wired connection, which wouldn’t be a big deal except usb on this device does not support fast charging. That’s my only complaint.

Sony gets a bad rap for their stereos, and in the past I've personally seen them go bad. But for apple carplay and android auto its hard to beat the price. I have a kenwood that cost $200 more and I like the way the sony functions more. They all sound the same at this level and the speakers make more difference anyway. Also why can't I get a silly volume knob on any other apple carplay radio...geeezzz. I love the volume knob on this too they should have more options though.

What I like: 1. Compatible with Android auto and Apple carplay. 2. Good to go with navigation and any audio I need to use. Great interface with promising updates in the future. 3. Nice finished look when installed--looks almost factory after installation. 4. Reasonably priced, picked it up on a killer Black Friday deal. What I don’t like: 1. Screen resolution could be better. 2. No auxiliary cable option. 3. Not readily compatible with factory installed USB port (I drive a 2015 Mazda 6). There are still ways to do this—expensive ways. . . . Overall, well worth the money I paid.

Great head unit at a fair price. Installed in my nb mazda miata. Clean interface and android auto works great, only issue is you have to ground the parking brake sensor.

Put these in 2 of my Highlanders (2003 and 2006). Work and look great. Knocking it down a star for the annoying warning screen you have to dismiss every time you turn it on. Love the interface and look of the radio. The actual volume knob was my deciding factor. Like it more than the factory radio in my 2015 Sienna, integration with Carplay and AndroidAuto is very nice.

Committed to making the big jump to getting rid of all of my CDs in my truck! The stereo ties in with my iPhone seamlessly. I enjoy the sound quality from Sony, I also upgraded the factory speakers prior to installing this stereo at the Best Buy store. The phone microphone sometimes misses some of my words, but I am using the factory microphone installed in my Ford truck. The volume dial is a nice feature, but it does not crank up the volume quickly as I would expect it would.

Good basic touch screen radio. Car play works good iPhone interface gets clipping on incoming calls . Also missed the boat on prestored channel description naming current song or artist from meta data in rive letters always displaying under station number. Also missing scan and store for local station like when traveling . Touch screen is responsive volume knob kinda of small hard to turn next to dash bezel in my application

I've been using this receiver for about 6 months now and it has been great. I love how the bluetooth automatically works every time I get in my car. Easy to use, almost too easy. Looks good and functions fantastic (most of the time). However I'm not a huge fan of the interface in general or the way things are layed out. It does have limited control over settings. Android auto seems to have some issues every few weeks. Apple car play has never caused any issues and I highly recommend it for use with iPhones. The back up camera option is wonderful even though you need to buy it separately. The safety message that pops up every time you start your car can be a little obnoxious but it is there for everyones safety. The safety message supposedly can be removed with an operating system "upgrade" if you search online. Overall a great piece of tech with limited control over settings.

Looks great in my F250 dash. Easy to use. I love the actual volume knob instead of virtual buttons on the touchscreen. You can keep your eyes on the road. Integrates perfectly with my google maps and bixby through Android and other users have said similar about iphones. Great value!

Very pleased with the quality and looks of this unit. Bought it primarily for Apple CarPlay and enjoy that very much. I also enjoy the matte finish, has a more OEM look to it. I wish the EQ was a little better, but you get what you pay for. The Kenwood I was looking at was twice the money and had all kinds of features I would never need. This Sony fit my needs perfectly, got BT and Apple CarPlay! Siri call home.... calling home.

This is one of the better and affordable CarPlay receivers you can get. Sony keeps it simple, does not add a lot of extra junk some of the others do that you never use anyway. It’s wired, which some may see as a downside, but if you plug in your phone to charge it anyway, then it’s not a big deal and always more reliable than wireless anything. The screen is resistive touch, but is very responsive and has the nice effect of not having any noticeable glare when in full sun. The screen is still totally visible even in direct sunlight. I was worried a resistive touch screen would feel clunky but turned out to be a non-issue. It was also pretty easy to install if you’ve ever done any car radio installs before, this is pretty simple. Overall great product, works well with no issues.

I have 2009 Camry and have been using my Aux to listen to music. A few months ago my Aux port stopped working. I originally was going to just get the Aux port fixed. However I figured that would of cost almost the same amount of installing a new radio. I chose this Sony unit over other units because of the clean look and the volume knob. Also it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. My only issue is that I order to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is that you still have to plug your phone up to the unit. I hope there is an system update soon to Bluetooth CarPlay. However you are still able to Bluetooth music and listen to directions if you don’t feel like plugging your phone up to CarPlay or Android Auto. Your directions just won’t be present on the screen like CarPlay. Overall this is a very nice unit and I’m glad I brought it.

Love the look and easy operation. Apple play is outstanding!!

We purchased this for our son since the older truck he was driving did not have Bluetooth option. Although living in Texas, it is NOT legal to be driving and texting, this system has allowed our son to be HANDS FREE and accept incoming calls. A GREAT perk when you are trying to reach a teenager. The installation with Best Buy was great. We had the installation done in Lewisville, Texas, and our son has had this for over a year and NO issues. Worth the price - yes. It's a Sony so typically a little on the higher side but with NO issues and surviving a teenager, well - it's been worth every penny!

Just had this installed in my Honda Element LX. For the price it is hard to beat! I give it four stars instead of five simply because of the resistive display rather than capacitive. The UX design is crisp, clean, and modern, whereas most other stereos on the market look clunky and outdated today to me. CarPlay works like a charm. And it has a volume knob! Imagine that! I get that people like the sleek look of an all display interface, but for a car like mine that doesn’t have built-in steering wheel controls, having a volume knob is much easier and safer to use than fishing for a button or a software volume button on the display.

It's a really nice Sony head unit. I love the clean interface. Apple CarPlay is awesome. And you can't beat having a rotary volume knob. Very pleased.

I have been wanting Apple Car Play for a while and this Sony unit has exceeded my expectations. The back up camera feature works great with the camera the Best Buy auto technician recommended. Had it installed at my local store and they did a fantastic job. Highly recommended.

I did my research and found the Sony with high marks and great reviews. I bought this unit with modest expectations to install in my 2015 Prius. And, am so glad that I did. It sounds and works amazingly. Apple Car Play is genius. No more risking lives to listen to Music or a Podcast and use a Map Ap, texting Ap or calling Ap at the same time. Best Buy also met the best price that I found on the web and the staff who sold it to me and installed it was awesome. High marks all around.

Purchased as a birthday present for my son, who has a 2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Helpful reviews on line. Great in dash head unit with Apple Car Play. Fit and finish look as good as the factory unit.
