First off, I love the stylish look and the beautiful onyx black color. The SmartShell cover is truly the perfect way to protect your MacBook from unwanted scratches and dents. However, I don't quite agree with the full description given by Speck. The description reads: "made of a scratch-resistant material". I don't know about you but when I read scratch-resistant I imagine a material that does not show any type of scratches at all. The day I got this SmartShell I bragged to my wife about how it was scratch-resistant, however when I used my fingernail to prove this “fact” to her, the SmartShell made me look like a liar :o) Take a look at the pictures and you will see a squiggly line to the left of the Apple logo, yes that is in fact a scratch done with my fingernail. I don’t know what caused the other scratch on it. Nevertheless, I’m satisfied with this product however I wanted to give an honest review. I think this item’s description needs to be reworded a little better and not give the impression that the SmartShell will never scratch.

I purchased my laptop before the case was available, I was so happy when they finally came out! It keeps my laptop print free and scratch free, snaps on super easy too! If you were looking for a case to protect your laptop if it is dropped, this one is not you!

This case is great and durable! Love the glittery details! One downside to this case is if you purchase a C-Hub for this particular laptop, the case gets in the way of the C-Hub and you need to remove the bottom part of the hard shell in order to have a proper fit. This is not always convenient especially when you’re trying to protect the laptop or if you’re in a public place and want to do some work that requires a flash drive. Easy fix, just wondering if with the constant removal of the bottom piece, will this then cause it to become loose and will not have a snug fit to keep the laptop protected. Time will tell!

Bought a cover for my wife and I's new laptops and I am very pleased with how well they fit and the amount of protection they provide is exactly what we need! Very Sleek! Only 4 stars because they are pretty pricey, but other than they are 5 stars all the way.

We have used Speck covers for another Macbook for several years and it has been great. The covers fit great and provide good protection. Doesn't add bulk or weight and looks good.

Absolutely love this case. Protects my MacBook Pro very well. Slips on easily. Adds a bit of weight & thickness but well worth it for the protection.

The case was easy to put on, inexpensive and protects my macbook really well. I've actually received compliments on how nice it loos.

This shell fits perfectly to my [13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and Two Thunderbolt 3 ports]. It was easy to apply and snaps right on. Lightweight. Offers basic protection from minor bumps and scrapes. I’m not sure how the shell will hold up against an actual drop, because I’ve never dropped my laptop.

The case is slim but sturdy and protects MacBook from scratches and dents. Easy to put on and not bulky at all.

This fits my computer well and looks great. Provides nice protection at a very reasonable price. Love it.

Good protective case which is easy to install and prevents scratches to Mac. Only complaint is that the usb converter hub BB recommended for my MAC (so I can connect older usb devices, micro SD cards, etc) will not fit unless I remove the case that covers the bottom part of my Mac. Not a huge deal as the case removes easily, however it’s not convenient to have to remove it every time I need to use the hub.

Love this product. I fits my MacBook Pro 13 inch without touch bar perfectly. The case feels little bit heavier, but I got used to it in couple weeks. Couple things I don't like about this product are, it catches the finger print while holding it. Other thing is, you have lift the lid a little bit to charge the computer, the charger (USB-C) itself won't go in when the lid is closed.

buying a very expensive Apple Mac Book can be daunting especially since the purpose of the laptop is to be mobile and be used everywhere you go. But when you have to throw it in a bag, or put on various surfaces the hard case helps relieve a lot of those issues. Was easy to put on, and has helped maintain the life span of the mac book.

This case was perfect for the laptop; it's great!!

I purchased this case before I jetted off to Europe and wanted to protect my new Macbook pro amongst all the travel, this case was great traveling. Fits perfectly on my laptop, doesnt add too much bulk/weight to the slim computer. I've already dropped the computer on the wood floor of the kitchen off the counter, no dings no cracked plastic, no scrapes, case held up computer works fine still. Laptop has also fell off of bed and into a metal nightstand, no cracked plastic, only cosmetic scrapes of paint transferred onto case which will come off with a magic eraser, computer fine and case still in great shape. Would definitely purchase this case again in another color.

This case fits like a glove and doesn't feel cheap like a few of the ones I have had in the past. That said, a small word of caution... I have a USB-C to HDMI, USB-C, and USB port adapter that plugs in against the side of my laptop... the case prevents it from being usable. Make sure you don't USB-C accessories to be flush against the side.
