A laptop that’s good enough for a pro
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Intro: After searching for a perfect laptop this fell into my lap. This may just have everything I want or need. In the box: HP Spectre x360 laptop, Power adaptor, Case, Instructions and Manual. Appearance: The HP Spectre x360 convertible has a beautiful design. It is a piece of art because it is well designed with quality in mind. I know it can easily out do or go toe to toe with any of the top competitors. Setup: The Spectre x360 comes charged so you can just power it on and start your setup. It is about 10 minutes for a complete setup. Performance: The Spectre x360 is a 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor and 256GB drive. This is a powerful laptop and it already have the windows 10 installed. I can do anything that I want from quick web browsing to working on a project. I continue finding new features as I dig in. It transform from a laptop to a tablet now how cool is that. This is touchscreen so the possibilities continues with this 13.3 Spectre. The touchscreen is smudge resistant because after using it my screen is still looking great. Everything seems easy to locate and if you are having trouble finding something you can always ask Cortana. Price: It might feel like it’s expensive but you get what you pay for in this case. If you spend the same amount with something equivalent in price you will not get the features and power that this have. Most of the competitors are still not using i7 processor. Features to like: Facial log on, laptop to tablet, Bang & Olufsen speakers, Backlit keyboard. Closing: I love this laptop and I cannot say anything negative about it. Everyone have their own expectations but I will suggest giving the Spectre x360 convertible a test drive. I do not think you will take it back or have any remorse after knowing how good it is. This feels good while handling it and right underneath your fingertips you have a powerful HP x360 that help you get just about anything done.

Best 2-in-1 on the market
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently received the HP Spectre x360 laptop. Below are my thoughts. Design: This has to be the coolest looking 2-in-1 laptops on the market. The silver finish and sharp edges makes this a slick polished looking computer. The hinge design on the display works pretty well but I do wish it was a littler stiffer to not allow as much movement. Another thing I like is how thin the computer is. It measures 12.03 x 8.58 x 0.54-inches making it the thinnest and lightest 2-in-1 computers on the market. Display: The 13.3-inch full HD display is bright and colorful and looks fantastic. I really like the thin bezels around the screen. Performance: The Core i7 processor and 8gb of ram makes the computer fly. Multitasking and watching movies was a breeze. The computer comes with an intel HD graphics card that gives you decent gaming capabilities. It's definitely not ideal for full time gaming. Battery life has been fantastic on this computer. I'm averaging about 8 hours using the computer during the day for work related activities. Audio: I love the quad speaker setup by Bang & Olufsen. It delivers crisp and clear sound. Keyboard/touchpad: Keyboard is well designed and works very well. The touchpad is a very good size but I noticed that there was not a left or right mouse buttons. That is a huge bummer. Overall this is a great computer with an excellent design, screen, and performance.

This computer is thin and sleek. Great design.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this computer last month and so far so good. I love the thin and sleek design and the fact that I can carry it in my totebag. Great for doing school and work related tasks. I would have given it five stars but I just think it’s a bit pricey for HP and not crazy about the sleeve that came with it. Other than that, it’s a descent computer.

Good Computer. Wish HP made decent peripherals.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer for work because of it's form factor for traveling and it really is just a sexy looking computer compared to the "business" notebooks that HP sells. I really wish that HP made a decent dock to go with this machine for the office. I did purchase an HP universal type dock and it makes the fan run quite a bit on the machine which I've noticed doesn't happen when just plugged into regular power. Overall, I really like it. The screen is beautiful and the keyboard is very comfortable to type on.

So this is what happens...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this is what happens when a leading hardware supplier teams with Microsoft to make a convertible laptop. We end up with a beautiful, high-performance, portable, ergonomically excellent device. The design of the machine is gorgeous, with smooth metal edges everywhere - including the keyboard and palm rest. The tactile difference between this and the plastic feel of most portables is immediately noticeable. The screen, even without the 4K option, delivers a fantastic image that is easy to see. Videos and photos are crisp and clear, with deep blacks and great resolution. All colors are deep and seem accurate. I'm not a gamer, but for all other tasks - from video playback to multitasking images in Photoshop, the performance is first-rate. I've had a lot going on at once with this machine, and it never bogs down. Even with dozens of open browser tabs I can play videos seamlessly. Portability is first-rate. While it's about the same thickness as my Yoga Pro 3, the super thin bezel makes the unit feel a lot smaller. The Yoga always felt a little unwieldy in tablet mode, but the Spectre strikes a great balance. In tablet mode, the Spectre's smaller dimensions feel just right in the hand, and the included pen is a welcome touch. The case also includes a space for the pen, making it simple to transport without getting lost. The sound, provided by a quad-system Bang & Olufsen layout, is excellent for a laptop - and even more impressive for something this small. Sometimes, it's the little things you don't get that make a lot of difference. In the case of the Spectre, what you don't get is bloatware - you know, the stuff that you spend an hour or more deleting from a new machine. Other than McAffee, the system was free of unwanted software. Battery life is astounding, easily lasting through a coast-to-coast trip with a layover and having enough juice left for me to use it at my destination without worrying about finding a plug. My favorite feature, though, is the keyboard. Not since the old IBM ThinkPad days have I seen a portable keyboard that offers this level of tactile feel. Part of it is attributable to the feel of the metal keys, but HP has managed to get a reasonable travel length in this thin case. Ports are excellent, with a single USB-A, a pair of USB-C, and one micro-SD slot. And this takes us to the complaint section - a couple of very minor complaints. USB-C is great, but most of us are reliant on USB-A connections. Having an second USB-A would have been handy. The power supply is also a bit bulky for travel and requires a grounded outlet. And...that's it. So, when your biggest complaint about the laptop is the size of the power supply, I think it's clear that the designers and engineers at HP have done an exceptional job here. So this is what happens. We get a fast, sleek, powerful machine with great graphics, battery life, and exceptional ergonomics. I've owned (and even still own) and lot of nice laptops. This is, hands down, the best I've ever had.

Beauty and the brains
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. period :) Now, let's get into the details. Performance: With intel i7 8th Gen processor, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB NVMe SSD, this little guy is able to handle anything that you throw at it. Multi-tasking is a breeze on it. I am a software programmer and I am able to run my IDE and dev server along with 20 browser tabs with no issues at all. I don't think this is suitable for graphics heavy games though. I haven't really tested it in that mode though. Keyboard: Love it. The keys are big enough and have a nice mechanical keyboard feel to it. I really like the column towards the end which hosts home, page up/dn etc keys and the up-down-right-left keys at the right bottom corner. The touchpad is big enough and smart enough to not move the cursor when it is touched while typing. It is also smart enough to understand left and right clicks. Audio: It has a quad speaker setup and delivers optimal listening experience in all modes. Ports: It has 1 USB 3.1 type A, 2 USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 and power delivery, 1 SD card reader and 1 finger print reader. This should cover all your needs. Design: It has a very striking design and feels very precise. It has nice hard edges on all-aluminium body and the polished sides provide a great highlight accent to its smooth brushed metal finish. Display: 13.3 glossy full-HD display with super thin side bezels. It's bright and colorful. Everything else: It comes with a stylus. I haven't used it that much but it seems good. The battery life is good. It also has a web-cam and Windows Hello is able to recognize me in all kind of light settings. This is really neat as I dont have to enter my pin or password. I like how it converts into a big tablet and I am able to use it as a big eReader during my commutes. As it is light weight, I am able to hold it in one hand and read books in tablet mode while commuting in Subway. Bottomline: I am really impressed with this laptop. It has a gorgeous slim design, speedy intel i7 8th Gen CPU, fast SSD, quad-speaker setup, wide touchpad, clicky keyboard and bright display. It is ultra-light and portable. The only issue that I have had with it is the heat management. I think for some reason it gets hotter than usual when I am using it on my lap over a blanket.

Glitchy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one had a "glitchy" touchscreen so we returned it. The second one has the same problem. It is too bad because it could be an exceptional purchase. Nice and light and sleek looking but for the money, it should not have the problem it does.

Speedy, Stylish, and Svelte
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ultrabook checks all the boxes. Not only is stunning to look at with a premium metal shell, chrome hinges, and clean underside, it has a premium feel with machined edges. Pros: -Wicked fast. The 8th gen Intel 4-core i7u CPU blazes through tasks. I'm amazed they crammed a U-series CPU in this tiny chassis -Keyboard feels wonderful and has a delightfully clack-y sound -The screen is very clear with good color saturation and contrast -2 Thunderbolt ports on the right and a legacy USB-A on the left mean this is future-proof but still compatible with today's reality. -Two biometrics - windows hello camera and fingerprint sensor. And the fingerprint sensor is on the side so it can be used while the laptop is closed (like it might be when plugged into an external monitor) Brilliant! -MicroSD slot for easy storage expansion -So thin and light -There are raised edges on the bottom that are perfectly positioned for carrying the device (love it) -Large glass trackpad that works very well -Pen included in the box -Charges very fast using HP adapter Neutrals: -Battery life is adequate. Not great, not terrible. expect 5-6 hours of real-life use. -Sound is OK. Not great, not terrible. Considering the thinness of the chassis, it is fine -Right clicking can be a little balky -Two fans to help with cooling so the CPUs can run longer under load. They are not loud, but you will hear them as a 'whoosh' under heavy load Negatives (almost none) -The case flexes a little bit more than an equivalent MacBook, especially the lid. Feels like it would dent easily -Fans run at low volumne steadily if plugged into an external USB-C monitor -HP Bloatware (but easy to uninstall) -Hinges are a little wobbly, but this seems to be true of all 2-1s At the blowout prices in early 2019 this laptop is an absolute steal. I love the look (even Apple fans have complimented it) and the 2 separate biometrics is a very nice surprise. Also love the MicroSD card slot which is unusual.

Beautiful and affordable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have yoga 900 and miix 720, this is better than yoga. This is lighter and smaller than yoga 900 with same screen size 13.3". The design is beautiful, looks like metal, no flex and sturdy. Has enough ports and features, did I say thunderbolt ? checked! Using face to unlock is very convenient, take that Apple X. I am typing this using the laptop. I can play game such as Burnout Paradise but Need for Speed 2016 is totally not playable. No fan noise when using battery. Battery life is very good. Now the negatives, keyboard backlight has only 2 states, on or off. In the dark, on is too bright. Wish it has multiple levels of brightness. The pen is only good for taking notes, it is not for artist as it does not have enough levels of pressure sensitivity and the spec does not have this info so my guess is only 256 levels. The miix has 4096 levels! If you are looking for similar class of laptop, spectre x360 is a very good choice.
