Being able to rely on the recordings from your Ring Spotlight Cam Pro is an essential feature of the device. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern that you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. As the weather gets colder, you may notice some condensation forming on your Ring camera lens. Rest assured this is normal for Ring devices. To remedy this, we recommend using an anti-fog product on the lens to prevent it from reappearing. While there's not a particular product we can recommend, some of our neighbors have found success using Rain-X products which should help with the condensation you're receiving from the cold weather.

To ensure that the "Night Vision" feature works as intended, make sure your Ring Spotlight Cam Pro's infrared light is toggled on in the Ring app. The infrared light control is in your Ring app under Video Settings. Enable "Color Night Vision" in the Ring app to help improve clarity at night.

To turn the "Color Night Vision" on or off, follow these instructions:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the device you want to adjust.
Tap "Device Settings."
Tap "Video Settings."
Toggle "Color Night Vision" on or off.

Check your Ring device's signal strength.
If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection or video issues.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the "Menu" (☰).
Tap "Devices."
Select the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the "Device Health" tile.
Scroll to "Signal Strength" under the "Network" section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.

Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.

It sounds like you experienced some connection issues with the device. Usually, missing recording is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss.

To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In edition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance.

A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.

If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.

The Ring Solar Panel for the Ring camera is a solar power source that can be mounted behind your Ring device. With just a few hours of direct sunlight per day, it can keep your Ring Spotlight Cam Pro fully charged in most cases.

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the Bird's Eye View feature. You can set up Bird's Eye Zones for more precise motion detection and more relevant Motion Alerts up to 9 metres from your Ring Spotlight Cam Pro. To set up Bird's Eye Zones, follow these steps:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.
Tap your device's Settings.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Set up Zones on the map at the top or Bird's Eye Zones below it.
Tap Set up Feature.
When prompted by the app, enter the location where your camera or doorbell is installed.
Drag the map until the device icon is in the right position, marking the location of your device as accurately as you can.
Use the slider to rotate the map, marking the direction of your camera’s view.
For cameras only: For optimal motion detection, set the correct mounting height and tap Continue.
Tap Edit to adjust your zone so it only covers the area you want to monit. If you choose Skip for now, a default zone will be used.
Tap the zone and drag the circles to define a new area.
Rename the zone and tap Done.
Tap Start test to test your Bird's Eye Zones, then tap Confirm to complete setup.
