Feels great on my head. Thats where the fun stops.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About the only thing this headset has going for it is that its expensive and is comfortable. Outside of that, its crap. I purchased the headset on July 30th 2020. Ive had nothing but horrible connection issues with the Xbox One S and X, Xbox Series X, and the Xbox USB adapter, as well as with Bluetooth. Crackling, cutting out, and out right disconnecting... let alone the atrocious range. Line of sight is about the best I get and that's maybe 10 feet at best. Ive had nothing but issues with this headset. Even after the latest firmware update, I sill continue to have issues and SteelSeries refuses to acknowledge the issues let alone placate us by saying they are even working on it. To top this all off... I went to put on my headset a couple of days ago and heard plastic floating around in the right side. I pulled the headset off and to my surprise the plastic around where the hinge is, is broken. 6 Months and the hinge breaks at the weak spot. What makes matters even worse, aside from not being the only person on the internet with the issue, SteelSeries refuses to help either by RMA'ing the headset and or at least offering to let me buy parts to fix it myself. So now I'm stuck with a $200 pile of garbage. I took a chance on the headset because after reading all the reviews and watching all the review videos on YouTube. Someone said, give it a chance. So I did. I should of listened to all the people complaining on Reddit, YouTube, and basic review sites. But hey, SteelSeries got there $200 out of me, they don't owe me anything. I guess I'm going back to Turtle Beach. At least my Stealth 600 v1 lasted a few years before falling apart and had MUCH better range and connectivity.

DO NOT BUT THEY WILL BREAK
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could give this product 0 stars I would. I will preface this by saying that the sound quality on these headphones and general comfort was top notch but after 6-7 months of light to medium use the joint holding the ear cup to the headband cracked (pictured) and this is something I only learned is a fairly widespread issue in this product after I'd experienced it myself and researched ways to solve the issue. One earpiece has since completely fallen loose from the frame. SteelSeries support wouldn't honor their warranty either and gave 0 guidance as to why they failed my RMA. Horrible customer service experience with them. If you plan to buy these just know they sound great but you should buy the best buy warranty because they will break and the manufacturer does not care to assist so you'll have to get another pair from Best Buy

DO NOT BUY
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as a gift to myself after a successful semester with the help of a friend. Initially I was in love with it because of how easily I was able to set it with my PC or Xbox. Around November I heard a snap sound when I put on the headset, then a few days later the cup snapped off. You can see how cheap the plastic is and how brittle it became after a few months of use. I tried contacting customer support to see if they could help me get it fixed. I was told that they do not cover "accidental" damage. I am by no means rough on my headsets. A headset this expensive should not be this cheaply made. Having on one support point on each cup is just asking for total Failure. This interaction with the manufacturer plus the quality has turned me off completely from this brand and will never purchase one of its products again. I advise anyone looking for a good headset look for a more reliable brand that will not turn their back on you after making such a cheap product.

A PATHETIC JOKE @ 200$
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oh my god. These have been the opposite of worth it. I legitimately hate these headsets. Belive me when I say STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE AS POSSIBLE. I was looking for the best wireless mic money can buy for xbox. These were made with microsoft specifically for the xbox connect system. Wow is this trash. Sound quality is really basic, as in my over ear anker soundcore life q20's sound better. (Go look em up real quick) but my problem isn't with the incredibly average mediocre out of box eq mixing. My issue is with the fact that these cost over 200$ and not only do they have connection issues but they could not stay connected for even 1 full game of overwatch! Wow! I've owned these for 2 days (one weekend) and they have completely disconnected and powered down by themselves in the middle of a game, MULTIPLE TIMES on full battery. My gen 1 stealth 600s from 2 years ago that I'm REPLACING work better than these out of the box. And after all that I figured maybe the wifi interference had something to do with it, WRONG. I removed every wifi device from my living room just for this garbage headset (and it was VERY VERY ANNOYING) and still, disconnects while loading a game from the home screen and powers off. This product has been such a turn off for 200$ not only do I say steer clear from these specific headsets, but if you want a headset for xbox, avoid steel series all together, the only good products theyake are for pc and playstation.

Fits nice, sound is 3/10
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for Christmas and my boyfriend finally had a chance to use it. However, the sound spectrum isn’t there. It sounds like a $20 headset with a $200 price tag. It fits nice and the quality of the material is good.

Greatest disappointment in gaming headsets ever
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Couldn’t be more disappointed. These are incredibly uncomfortable. I must have a miniature head because this is the first gaming headset that not only covers my ears but also sits on my jaw, which becomes very uncomfortable quickly! Worse than that the right ear piece just broke at the pivot joint within 2 weeks, completely useless now! Waaayyyy to expensive for what you get. Interface is not intuitive!

Not charging and support not covering it.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Steelseries support is terrible. I had an issue 6 months after purchase of headset, it stopped charging. Submitted to support my problem. They send instructions including where to get the serial number and what to do if the serial number is warn. You take a picture of the warn serial number and serial number on the box. The sticker serial number is under the headband which will get sweaty and rub against the sticker. The reply they can't do an RMA because the serial number is warn off. Other then the charging issue and serial number sticker the product is in great shape. I have receipt, box and pictures of the device which is in great shape. If I did not have the box or receipt with the warn serial number I would understand. The location they place the sticker is likely to wear which they can use as a reason not to provide support. For clarity I forgot to get the Best buy support plan, this is steelseries support.

Hinge is fragile. Don’t waste your money.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hinge on mine broke after a couple years. I now realize how common this problem is. You can easily see how often this hinge issue occurs with a quick internet search. The broken hinge is not easily DIY fixable either. I wouldn’t waste your money on this.

Not worth the money

Cheap materials for $200
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst wireless headset I've ever purchased. Thin plastic around the cup swivels broke 3 months after purchase. Ear piece is literally dangling from the headstrap.

Dissapointing
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is OK. My biggest problem is that you WILL get random disconnects (both from your Xbox and Bluetooth device) or random Shut offs...A LOT. More on this later. I was hoping a firmware fix would address and fix the issues, but a year later...NOTHING. I 've read on their website that there could be interference from Wi-Fi Routers, microwaves etc. but I've troubleshooted and moved things around, but I haven't solved my issues. Positives: They are VERY comfortable. The ski goggle band idea is genius. The foam cups are breathable and you can wear them for hours on end no problem. Battery life is VERY good too, the microphone is good quality as well and they have a premium feel to them. Back to the disconnecting issues. This doesn't happen every time you use them, but I would say that it happens in spurts. When it starts to happen during a session then you can count on them to continue disconnecting and/or turning off over and over during that session, the next day or the following they will work perfectly. Then after a few days you'll get again the random disconnects or shutoffs. Its like the headphones throw a fit. For the price I would find it hard to recommend these headphones. If they didn't have issues, I would have no problem recommending them. Forget about connecting these to a desktop or lap top via Bluetooth. They are unusable with a PC because they disconnect so often. The only reason I didn't return them was because I started encountering these issues after 3 months of use, so I'm not sure what changed but obviously something did to make them start performing bad. Look elsewhere.

Static and connection issues.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love these when they work. They are so comfy, the battery lasts forever, and the audio is great. Plus, no base station and no wires. BUT, they only connect sometimes, and almost always have interference issues. You can't talk or hear teammates because it cuts in and out. There are similar complaints online. I tried disabling all wireless devices on my router 5g and 2.4g and the issue persists. Also, disconnecting and reconnecting crashes most games. Will return these today and go with the Astra A50.

GREAT headphones....BUT...
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm so torn about these headphones. I've had them for a while, and I've got to admit, The sound quality is solid, and its great playing FPS games with them because of how precise the directional sound is. I've also never had a more comfortable head set in my life. you forget these things are on, even for loooong gaming sessions. 12 hours plus and my ears were feeling great. the controls/interface are...adequate but could be better. it has a fairly long charge time....although it only tells you when the battery is close to dying versus any type of high low notifications. the charging features for this head set could definitely be improved. Here is where everything great about this, stops mattering. it disconnects CONSTANTLY. From both my Xbox and my PC. not from distance either, when i play my Xbox, the furthest away i sit is 6 feet. Generally its a lot closer. With my PC, the headset is generally within 1 to 3 feet away from my tower. and yet it generally disconnects from my Xbox at least once a gaming session (typically 1 to 3 hours) and has disconnected as frequently as 5 times in a 30 minute period. On my PC it outright disconnects slightly less frequently, but i lose connection integrity all the time. people sometimes start to hear me as garbled, and hear me off and on. And they start cutting out for me. Also, trying to reconnect this headset is a pain in the butt as it can take multiple try's to get either of my 2 Xbox's to pick it up sometimes, (it isn't as big of a problem with my PC). As good this head set could be , great sound quality, amazing comfort. solid battery, none of that matters when i have to constantly stop gaming to reconnect it or i can no longer understand the other people in my party. if your not spending 200 dollars on headphones, i suppose this might be acceptable for a more reasonable price point. but if your gonna pay out this much on top notch head phones, i would recommend looking at different options.

Bought February 3rd Stopped working March 1st
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Title says it plainly. I switched from a Rig 800LX headset after the Microphone started getting static-y after repeated use 3+ years. It was one of the best wireless headsets I've owned. Super comfortable, great sound, better in every way than the Arctis 9x besides the connectivity (used a dongle) and no bluetooth. I looked around researching best Xbox headsets and many websites featured these headphones. The volume levels suck on them, the headset is on the tighter side, even after adjusting. The muffs are comfortable, but not cooling like my old headphones, and these were $50 more expensive. On top of that one day the headphones just stopped working completely. I looked up how to fix it, charged it over night, switched chords, switched outlets, made sure that it worked and nothing. I found out that you can do a factory reset, and that didn't work either. I was willing to let go the fact that these headphones were not like my old RIG headphones, but now that they stopped working in less than a month I'm switching to another brand. Hopefully Turtle Beach comes through for me like old times. I would buy another RIG headset, but they stopped making them. I take very good care of my devices, as they are expensive. They get hung on a mount daily and stopped working without notice. Thankfully I bought the Best Buy protection plan. Don't buy these headphones and don't buy into the hype. They're not great, even if they do work for longer than a month for you.

Disappointing Headset
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The comfort and sound quality is great, but the connectivity is very poor. Range is about a few feet, regardless if it is PC, Bluetooth, or Xbox. If you lose Xbox connectivity it will also turn off your Bluetooth connection which is very annoying. All around very disappointed.

Very bad connection issues.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor connection with xbox one. Sometimes they work great and really do have great sound quality. You need a computer to really set the sound quality and mixing to your liking. There is no Xbox app at this time. But the poor connection. Sometimes I turn it on, it immediatly boots up, I can hear and talk for 20 to 30 seconds and then it just turns off. That usually only happens once. But midgame randomly I alone will get extreme choppy sound, my teamates say I sound like a robot when it happens. Its stops and then I get an xbox notification that says "Headset Assigned". Sonetimes thats it. Sonetines its non stop. Would not recommend for more than $50. TL;DR: When they work, they work great. To really get them to work great you will most likely need a computer. The downsides of this headset make it (IMO) not worth the price.

Sound quality and disconnection issues
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Regardless of the price a company that puts out a product that has average sound quality and disconnection issues gets a one star in my book. Looking at mixed reviews, I decided to give the Arctis 9x a shot. Day one I had no disconnection issues but my caving for an immersive experience was not satisfied due to the subpar sound quality and lack of surround sound that this $199.99 headset does not support. The days that followed is when the non stop disconnection issues started. While in game the audio would sound choppy and/or just cut off completely leading me to resync time after time. After trying all the troubleshooting instructions that steel series had on their website( including disabling the 2.5 Ghz WiFi) I had no luck and it was time to return the product. Other things to note that was not that big of a deal was the adjustable head strap. I just could not get the perfect fit, it either went to low or too high which lead to an uncomfortable experience after playing for a few hours. Having ears on the smaller side the ear cups strangely touched the sides of my ears which was another downside. Aside from that the build quality was good with its, I’m assuming, aluminum body design and it was pleasing to look at. I was excited for this headset but unfortunately as previously stated I returned them.

Dont buy these
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy these wireless headphones. While the sound quality may be superior, the build quality is very poor and I can promise you that they will break. Not only will they definitely break, customer service at steelseries will not offer you a way for them to fix it or replacement parts. I am a very careful person when it comes to my electronics and even so, the plastic that holds the York up to the headband snapped and now I have no way of fixing it. Had them for less than three months when this happened and yet my wired Razer Krakens are still in perfect shape 2 years later

Awful.....
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved them when I first got them. They felt great on my head and I thought they sounded great. But they were always cutting out and disconnecting for 5-10 seconds at a time...the worst. I had to get rid of them. $200 down the drain....
