Great sound, poor build
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is amazing and it's extremely comfortable to wear. The problem is the it's made of thin plastic. My headset broke in the same spot as 2 of my friends. Definitely needs some reinforcement.

Broken
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read the reviews on the headset and thought they were really good. I like the fact that you can retract the mic when not in use and muting it with a button rather then flipping up a mic all the time. Downfall is I had the same problem with this headset as my turtlebeaches I had which was from putting on and taking off both sides broke where they attach on the sides and they only lasted a couple months. My turtlebeaches lasted longer and I used them more then I used this headset. Wouldn't recommend this headset for people that play a lot of video games.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely terrible sound and quality. For $200 this headset is not worth it. I’ve owned many different gaming headset and for this price you can get much better quality headsets with customization options. Biggest issue with this headset is there’s only four EQ presets and they’re not that great. The quality of the material to make this headset is very cheap and the ear muffs start to hurt about an hour into gaming. If you play any kind of shooters that depend on sound these are not for that. Go with Astros.

When they work they're great.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros- When it come to comfort these headphones are hard to beat. The quality of the sound is clear and excellent in my opinion. The mic works great, I haven't had any complaints from my friends when using chat. Build quality is also pretty good. Cons- The control wheels and buttons are in a terrible place. When putting on/taking off the headphones or trying to hit the mute button, its really easy to bump the volume knobs. While the sound is clear and great for gaming, it is a little lacking in the bass department. Wireless range isn't that great and once it disconnects it doesn't reconnect automatically (at least mine doesn't). It pops and loses connection pretty frequently. Price is way too high for this product based on what my experience has been. Overview- when these work they work great. If I could get a solid connection 100% of the time I could live with all the other faults these headphones have. However I would not purchase these again. For the price i expected a much better experience from these. My router is far from my xbox, I have a clear line of sight and sit within 6' of the xbox and still lose connection about once or twice per hour. I do not recommend these headphones in their current state.

Do not buy if it is for console.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of problems with connectivity. The sound is pretty decent, it does lack a bit in the bass frequencies. Would give this a 5 star for comfort. Definitely did a great job with the top strap. This is all well and good, but it has tremendous problems connecting to xbox one. It will constantly drop and i will have to turn it off mid game, and turn it back on. Typically 50% of the time it will turn back on the sound, but then that chat function wont work. So you have to try again. Repeat this process over and over again until you finally give up and dont enjoy playing games anymore. I would have returned it if it was not in the middle of covid lockdown when i made the purchase, it has been too long at this point i believe. Do not buy this to use with an xbox, you will be greatly dissatisfied. And yes, I have tried everything online with fixing myself and turns out a lot of people have this problem, and it is a known issue that will never be resolved from what I understand.

Enjoy it while it lasts
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these in March 2021 and just recently stopped working. I turned them off, came back a few hours later and they just won't turn on anymore. At first I was using them with my Xbox One and the connection was awful it would disconnect 2-3 times and I would have to turn them off so they could pair again, but after reading some reviews saying that the issue is the Xbox one and it works best on the newer Xbox series x/s so I kept them until I got my series x. There is no disconnecting with the Series X, but now it just stopped working... For a $200 headset the sound is great, the mic is good, no echoing, comfortable, charge lasts long, footsteps are heard, but it didn't even last a year. If you can get it on sale go for it, but this headset should be around $130.

Great sound. HORRIBLE build quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would not recommend these after purchasing my second pair due to the first ones cracking at the joint where the ear muff meets the headband. My second pair i figured id be extremely careful with them and maybe it was my fault the first time around. Well doesnt seem to be the case. The headset sits pretty tight on the head and there is no way to adjust the band, because of that it seems it puts a lot of strain on the single and fragile joint connecting the two. I will not be purchasing a third pair which is unfortunate considering they are one of the only ones on market with the ability to bluetooth a phone as well as the Xbox so that i dont miss any phone calls while playing my game. Also the sound quality and mic are great as well. The cracking and breaking issue eventually renders these headphones useless within a year and at this steep price they should have top notch build quality. For that reason id say stick to something else. For around the same price i would stick to the Astro A50s who have a solid build quality and great sound and audio quality just no bluetooth

Bad connection issues
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound on this headset sounded great. They were very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. My Mic was crystal clear. The problem I had was that it would just randomly disconnect after a few hours of play. Once it would give me connection issues, my Mic would then get really bad (static and cutting in/out). This would happen randomly after an hour or 2 of continuous play. It wouldn’t be every time I played, just purely random. It would show a full charge when this happened also. When I would be chatting my teammates, they would say they couldn’t hear me at all. What was weird was, they would work perfectly for long periods of time and then randomly would just stop. There was no rhyme or reason as to why this would happen. Nothing in the room changed, I didn’t move positions, there were no other Bluetooth devices added to the room? I would reset them and reset my box and sometimes it would help, other times, it wouldn’t. The only thing that would help every time would be to stop playing for an hour or so and let them Re-charge to a full charge. I bought the Astro A50’s and have not been disappointed.

Sound great but horrible wireless connection.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are top rated for xbox. Bought them on sale and am very disappointed and i know why they wree heavily discounted. They sound good and are comfortable but the wireless connection is atrocious. I am only 6-9 ft from my xbox and the signal keeps dropping out. From what i have read online this is a common problem and the solution is to shut off your hone wifi…nope. I bought Audeze Maxwell and am 100% happy.

Extremely comfortablw but unreliable connection
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love this headset as far as fit, sound quality, and literally every detail EXCEPT the connection. After about 3 months if very gentle use now it drops the connection from Xbox a couple times a day. It has for over a year now. I did upgrade to an Arctis Pro for myself since i got a PC and have had no issue with those but i gave these to my husband and he has issues every day. Its frustrating and im at a loss and feel like a wasted so much money on these. I wish i had remembered while these were in warranty because i would have been sending them back. Unfortunately my husband was deployed so they sat for 7 months unused and now that hes home im kicking myself for forgetting to do it. I will still recommend steel series especially since my new pair is amazing but this specific one i would advise against unless they can fix the connection issues.

Useless after a year
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My headset has had problems I bought them in July of 2022. They sound great and fit well. I have no fatigue over long hours. But that doesn’t make up for their poor connectivity. Most days, they just disconnect from my Xbox randomly. I could here game chat but the game would go silent. It’s like they are still on but not connected. It happens multiple times in just a few minutes and then the rest of the night I can’t use them. It is the most frustrating thing. Now, they won’t even turn in anymore. I have had them hardly a year and they are dead… can’t power on or anything.

Terrible connection with Xbox, bad sound on PC
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is great when connected to my Xbox series x. Sound is mediocre at best when connected to my PC. It also drops connection with my Xbox if I'm more than about 10 ft away from it. I've tried disabling things that may cause interference and eve moving my Xbox and it still disconnects. It doesn't make any sense. The Mircosoft headset did not have any of these problems, the only reason I replaced it with the Arctis headset was comfort. But I may go back to the Microsoft headset because this is getting very annoying.

So many positives, with a huge negative
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So many features that are great. The bluetooth is something you will want in every headset. You can listen to music while playing your game, take a phone call, etc. However, the range is pathetic. I would walk 10 ft from the Xbox and they would start disconnecting. I was sitting on my couch, 8-10 ft in front of the box and they would disconnect in the middle of a session. I returned them and went with another brand. Bluetooth is awesome, very comfortable, horrible range.

Worst buy or worst luck
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The audio is good, no issues with that but there are a issues that making it not worth even buying them. Biggest issue is that it constantly disconnects from the Xbox and you'll have to turn them on and off multiple times while in game. Almost seems like it happens at the worst time possible. 2nd is the game/chat mixer doesn't stay were you put it. You constantly have to keep moving it back to place. 3rd I recently started connecting to my phone and you can literally see it and hear it disconnecting from the phone. 4th customer service is not every helpful. They say cause of Microsoft tech, the headset can pick up slight interference. Their replies are very cookie cutter and basically want you to remove anything with a signal away from you or the reset button. The interference is not slight, it's major! Every single night a play i have to mess with 2-6 times in a 2 hr period. 5th after disconnecting 4 times last night, they just won't turn back on anymore.

Started out great, but lately a train wreck
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these as a replacement for Astro A50 Wireless which had begun to cut in and out detrimentally. These started out nicely. The connection to xbox, although physically simple (as in there's nothing to do), getting them to actually connect was hit or miss, but once finally connected they were just a matter of on or off and good to go. Recently, however, they have incurred HORRIBLE stutter. I'm described by others in the party as robot voice at best, and more often they will not be able to understand me at all as my mic cuts out so frequently. On my side, I here a terrible static cutting in and out of party chat and game audio mixed up with static white noise (sort of, lack of a better word). I tried resetting them (which is, btw, a TERRIBLE design as the ear pads have to be removed to access a pin hole reset port....). That did nothing. I tried connecting to a different console. Did nothing. Removed 100% of all wifi and bt devices on the entire floor where I game. Did nothing. Changed from Windows Sonic to Stereo Uncompressed. This initially solved the problem completely. INITIALLY. Only took a few days and the same shenanigans are back. I am very disappointed in this. I've read other users on forums with similar issues. Not sure if it was an early build issue or what, but it's made my set all but unusable. When they work they really are nice with good sound and comfort. But I can't recommend these in the scenario that I have experienced. Gaming today is quite technical, even a brief lapse of audio can be detrimental to the outcome of the game and to the team.

Great with a major defect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very comfortable and good sound quality. I would lose connection a lot and it doesn’t always auto reconnect. It became so annoying (in 3 weeks) that I returned for a different headset.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awful. Yes this headset may be comfortable but barely. I cant control its sound settings in my xbox, I have a range of 6 feet and I start stuttering. The mic is mid, and the battery life is half decent. But the fact that it was released in 2019 and has usb micro b? Awful. My $120 Astro a20 was WAY better than this.

Could be a heck of a lot better.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arctis 9X are very average. Sound quality is great. Comfort, great. But the connection issues with these to the Xbox Series X are crazy bad for me. A lot of drop outs that were extremely frustrating. Hope others have better luck than me.

Issues coming quick
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had these for a little over a year (ordered Nov 2023, and I have already started having frequent problems with them. From a quickly dwindling battery life, to constant disconnecting, to audio consistently cutting out, these things went from the best purchase I made to a nightmare in about a year.
