The controller is built very well. Seems to fit in the hand naturally. Buttons, triggers, d-pad, bumpers, and joystick work smoothly. Connection to Bluetooth is easy. Overall great product.

If you're a guy like me who doesn't like the on screen controls for games like GTA and Bully on the iPad. This is a great solution for that. Feels just like an Xbox 1 controller and plays majority of the games on the App Store. Especially all of the Rockstar games. Easy to setup too. Just connect to the controller via Bluetooth and you're good to go. Games tested that work: All of the Grand Theft Autos Max Payne Modern Combat 5 Bully Crimsonland Into the Dead Dead Trigger 2 Asphalt 8

I really like this controller for iOS devices. It works with my Apple TV, iPad Pro, and iPhone 7 Plus. Makes playing most games a lot better. Has a quality feel to it. Battery lasts a long time per charge and charges with lightning cord. Wish it came with a clip for the phone, but there are other options for clips online.

I was impressed with the feel and quality right out of the box. This was the first game controller I had ever touched, even after decades of computer use dating back to DOS and mainframe days. I like that it has an internal battery, which charges via a Lightning plug. It paired quickly with my iPad Mini 4. Also, the packaging box has foam cutouts that make it a good protective storage case. It has ample control functions to operate X-Plane Mobile, and is way better than using the touch-screen controls.

this is a nice controller. If you prefer the feel of using a standard controller over the remote (even for a single button) it's worth picking up. It's also worth purchasing if you plan to use it with other devices beyond the Apple TV, like the iPhone and the iPad. In comparison to other Made for iPhone Bluetooth-enabled controllers, the SteelSeries Nimbus has a solid build quality, a good feel in the hand, an affordable price tag, and it's the only one of the controllers that can charge using a Lightning cable, a benefit that's highly convenient. In short, if you're planning to buy a controller, this is probably the one to get.

I probably should give this three stars because it didn't function correctly with my Macbook (on one game the right joystick didn't work and on another the left joystick was inverted both up/down and left/right and couldn't be corrected), but I bought it to use with my iPad while I travel and for that it was flawless. It has a sturdy build like an Xbox controller (only the joysticks are located together rather than one up and one down), and is comfortable in my hands. It charges with a lightning cable and holds a charge for a long time. (I played for hours on a train from NYC to Niagara Falls.) The bluetooth set up was easy.

I love this. It connected immediately to my Apple TV with no issues and connects every time on its own afterwards. I love that it charges using the regular Apple iPhone charger (lighting) so I don't have to have a separate random charger lying around. Very responsive and fun to use.

I bought this to play games on my iPad easier (playing on a 12.9” iPad Pro I suite difficult) and while this is an upgrade from my previous Moga Rebel, the analog sticks were not pressed (how the PS4 and Switch are) which is why I took off one star but besides that, it’s an awesome controller.

I purchased the controller to play 2k and Grand Theft Auto on my iPad. The controller is comfortable with familiar feel. Easy to connect and has a great battery life. A huge plus is you can use your ipad’s Lightning cable to charge.

I purchased this controller for my nephew to play MineCraft on his iPad and he loves it. I purchased another one for myself to play GTA San Andreas on my iPad and it works great. Pros - Controller feels nice in hand and does not feel cheap. It feels like an XBOX controller. I love that it uses lightning cable to charge. Cons - Analog sticks don't have aditional buttons, no L3 and R3 buttons. No vibration motors in controller. They don't make an iPhone mount for controller.

This controller does exactly what you’d expect. I don’t notice any lag at all, and I use it to play Minecraft on my iPad Pro 2018. I have yet to charge it and I’ve played with it quite a bit. It’s super nice that it charges via lightning so I just charge it with my iPhone cable. The right and left sticks don’t press in, but that’s not a big deal. Most games have a different option to replace the action. Great controller!

My fav for Apple TV and iPad Pro gaming

I've recently gotten interested in playing a few games on my Apple TV and iPad Pro, but I'm coming from a PS4 and PC and I prefer a mouse/keyboard or at the very least a proper game pad. I had been aware of these MFi controllers since Apple announced the support for them. I purchased a Mad Catz C.T.R.L.i controllers and like the products from my Playstation 1 days, it was really Really REALLY bad. The thumbstick/analogs were super stiff, but one you engaged them deeper, they became super loose, no in between. It was annoying attempting to play FPS games with it. Also, it needed AAA batts. The Nimbus has a rechargeable battery. I had been aware of the Nimbus, and decided to try it after playing around with it in the store. This controller is perfect for gaming on iOS. Feels and responds like a proper gamepad and I just love it. The one thing I like a lot was that it charges through a lightning cable, which is super awesome to me. Although, some would rather prefer the non-proprietary route. However, this controller was made for iOS, so I wouldn't worry about NOT having a cable as you like should have one of these anyway. I deducted a star from an otherwise magnificent product for 2 very specific reasons. What if a person DOESN'T have a lightning cable? Why would the controller cost so much and not provide one to you? Thats the flaw here, theres no charging cable. What if you were using all of yours or lost one? You'd have to buy a $20 cable for charging. Second issue is that there are NO "R3" or "L3" functions. For those who don't know what this is, I'll explain. R3 and L3 are buttons on pretty much any controller with thumbtacks. Pressing the Right or Left thumbtack reveals an actual button beneath the sticks. These buttons are actually quite important for FPS games, but also play a role in pretty much any game I've ever played that required thumbtacks. This limits the controller. As you're now down 2 of your very precious command buttons. Too few buttons spells trouble, as likely the reason why you'd want a controller is because of the too few controls you get with onscreen setups. It is understandable that its for iOS and theoretically have no need... but I see this as a case that either devs do not code R3 and L3 into games because of the platform, or simply because NON of the MFi controllers actually have R3 and L3 built into them, so there would be no reason to do so. Considering the Nimbus is the #1 controller for iOS, I'd think further future proofing was in order. In that including the R3/L3 buttons, incase devs start to change this or Apple makes a change. Also, this would cause all other manufacturers to follow suit. Bottomline, we want a FULL functioning controller for an immersive experience. But, as controllers for iOS goes, this one you'll be hard pressed to beat. Hope my endless typing helped.

I have tried a few MFI controllers. I had the moga rebel ($80) controller as well. This is HANDS DOWN my favorite. The button layout, weight, and responsiveness are the best. (The moga would disconnect often but the nimbus never does.) The response is great. The only thing I liked more about the moga rebel was that the r2/L2 had more resistance, which I like for racing games. (I mostly use this with Real Racing 3). I use this on the go with my iPhone 6 Plus and iPad mini 4. I bought a "Nyko Xbox one smart clip" it attaches to the nimbus and can hold the iPad mini 4 in the apple silicone case! That is insane! I love this controller. (I haven't had the battery die yet!) Buy this controller and a Nyko smart clip, you'll thank me (in between games of course!)
