Pros: resolution of the video is clear with a pretty quick response alert for if someone walks past the camera. You can choose if you want to pick up far, close or middle of the area of the view. It already comes with a chime and batteries included. Easy setup with the Swann app. Cons: doesnt come with a micro sd card and the camera requires 2.4ghz wifi which sometimes can be buggy but overall good experience.

This Swann EVO Wireless Doorbell was purchased due to packages missing from my neighbor’s porch. I wanted something that was wireless and portable. This has a clear picture, motion sensing and sends alerts to my phone. It has two-way audio which is great when someone approaches the door. The night vision is fantastic also! I also love that I can record if I ever feel the need. I haven’t had it long, but so far, I’m very pleased.

Replacing my old doorbell with this was super simple because it has the wiring sockets in the back already there, so I just had to remove the old one and put in this one. Plus, setting it up via the app was easy as well. The video quality on this is great as well. I can see clearly every time someone rings the door bell and I can hear and see crystal clear.

I upgraded from a previous Swann doorbell and moved my older model to another entrance. The camera on the newer model is much nicer, and it charges using a USB-C port instead of the older mini connection. The setup was easy, and the camera displays live in the Swann app.

Installation was simple and straighforward. Provides a wide angle view and video quality is great. The two way audio is a fantastic feature allowing me to speak remotely via the app to whomever may be at the door.

I really like this doorbell. With it being election season I can talk to the solicitors through my phone real quick instead of having to listen to everyone’s speech on why I am ruining my families lives by not voting for their candidate. The battery life on this door bell is great! The one thing I am not looking forward to is when it dies to remove the doorbell from its housing you have to remove a very small screw that I almost lost about 20 times when I was installing it. Other than that the doorbell is just what we needed.

The Swann-EVO Wireless Doorbell and Chime is a solid, no-nonsense choice for home security or keeping an eye on pets. It’s super easy to set up – no fussing with wires or complicated instructions. The wireless camera and chime are flexible, so you can place then wherever you have need. If I am expecting a package it place it out my front window. If we are headed out of town, I use it as a pet cam to watch our fur baby and keep tabs on the pet sitters. The micro SD allows for video recording without a subscription. Overall, it’s a reliable, straightforward option.

My neighbors have a video cam doorbell and i became jealous! I purchased this a bit on a whim and am very impressed with how sleek and premium the packaging and the product was. I found it very easy to set up and connect to the app and am very glad to have swann protecting my home!

This doorbell is a cinch to get set up. It comes with a few ways to mount on your house, I chose to use the screws in my stucco. The bracket allows easy placement and I can take it off for ease of charging. The kit comes with an SD card so there is no need to pay for the cloud storage, unless you are looking for more features. It allows for sound and has a great picture. I'm finding it may be too sensitive as it's picking up trucks on our street. I like being able to view videos of activity and feel like it's a great security piece. It can be a little pokey to bring up the live view at times but that could be related to my internet. Overall I'm very happy with it!

This is a really nice and compact doorbell and it comes with the chime too. You can place the chime anywhere and the doorbell is easy to install.

Overall, this is a good video doorbell if you don't want to pay subscription. The design, software and connectivity are pretty decent but there's a good number of opportunities it can improve on to be worth keeping. INSTALLATION The box comes with the doorbell, its plates and screws, and the chime. Instructions are pretty straightforward and the components are easy to put together. I was able to easily place the mounting plate over my old set up, except that the height is a little shorter, so I had to drill an extra hole. The doorbell wires can easily be screwed on and in roughly 12 minutes, including the drilling, the doorbell is wired and on the plate. It works with my old setup so the wires charge the Swann Evo and it also triggers the original bell. I did not know if I needed the chime, but I paired it anyway. I placed the doorbell farther from the original bell so I make the most of alerts from visitors. I already had the Swann Security app so I was familiar with the app navigation. Adding the doorbell to my setup required a couple of attempts because of my 2.4ghz signal. It was up and running in half an hour in the app. HARDWARE The doorbell itself looks good. It is a little bulky but I guess the case needs that space to allow SD card functionality and the stand-alone capability to not need a hub. The finish and design looks premium and has good quality. As I see it, it will last, and based on a week of it being out, it does not show dust on the doorbell. The lights (recording and access lights) are very visible even on a bright day. I do have a little problem with the doorbell audio though—the pre-set prompts are not loud enough to be heard (my front door is perpendicular to a busy street) and the sound coming off the microphone is too loud that it cracks, making it hard to understand. Even if I adjust the volume levels on the app, the sound output of the doorbell needs work. The chime is a cute little add on to the set up. Like the doorbell, it is not loud enough. I was happy to learn that it has a barking dog sound, which sounded pretty real—only if it was loud enough to make it seem that we actually have dogs. APP and CONNECTIVITY I love it that Swann as a system comes up in Google Home, although I cannot see the stream on the Home App. It does show up on the Swann Security app itself, so that's good. My issue though is it takes a while to wake up the doorbell. I have gig internet at home, and a mesh router is less than 10 feet from the front entrance where the doorbell is installed. So wake up time is much to be desired. Even on live view, it will be faster for me to go to the door and look at the peephole if someone rings the bell. For any activity that is stored on the SD card, it also takes time, but I usually don't have that much urgency to look at it, unlike a person who presses the doorbell. I had two packages that arrived that the delivery person rang the doorbell. The doorbell was not fast enough for me to talk to the person over the system—of course, this is assuming they understand me through its speakers. I had an experience where the doorbell was stuck to red light for a while, since it seemed to be loading simultaneously after a visitor press. So I would say, the doorbell needs some speed. Video quality is great, by the way, even at night. I know, part of the speed to access is because I put the settings on max. I was not afraid to lose battery because the doorbell is wired, however, quality comes at the price of speed to access. On the app, I like it that the playback is stored by calendar days. My other camera has playback stored for a week however, for this camera, since it is not subscribed, does not have the playback log listed. Instead, there is an indicator for access to the storage menu and that's where all the activity is seen. This is one of the good features because, again, I do not need subscription to use it. It does take a little longer to access the stored files, but it's not a deal-breaker. Speaking of activity, I like it that I can define the zones for detection, and the settings for it are pretty customizable. Again, video output is nice so that's a huge plus for this doorbell. The app actually has a good interface and I applaud Swann for how they organized it. It has so many good features that actually make the devices, in my case, a video doorbell and a flood camera, easy to use. Overall, this is a great alternative to other doorbells that need subscription especially that the quality and features alongside the app are good. If you can live with a little less video quality to have a snappier performance, then maybe this will work for you.

It was very easy to set up the Swann EVO wireless video doorbell using the Swann Security app but be aware that it only works with 2.4Ghz network connection. Installation time was about 10 minutes, from installing the app, connecting to Wi-Fi and mounting the doorbell in the desired location. I installed it eye-level on the window frame nearest the bottom of the porch to be able to capture the entire front walkway and stairs as well as the walkway leading around the side of the house to the backyard. I recommend installing a 256GB micro-SD card in the included slot to avoid subscription fees. You are offered a free 60-day subscription trial if you prefer to go that route. Swann does integrate with Google Home, but the stream itself seems to only be visible on the app. A couple of great benefits of the app are the customizable detection zones and motion detection settings. The included chime is a plus, but I need it to be louder so that I can hear it over the volume of the TV when it’s on. The barking dog sound is a cute touch though. The video and sound quality of the doorbell are average, and the night mode works okay. I like the wide viewing range, which captures the full body and more of my property. I can now monitor an area that was a blind spot for my previous camera. However, there are delays in the live view feed, which causes missed events from time to time. If you’re able to live with the minor quirks I mentioned, this doorbell is a great cost-effective way to monitor your property with a very user-friendly app.

First off this was remarkably easy to setup. Literally took like 10 minutes to load the app and pair the unit including linking it to the doorbell. In my application I didn’t have a existing doorbell where I wanted to install this on our cabin property’s door. So I wanted a battery operated option and this is USB C rechargeable. Note that you do have to remove it to access the battery port on the back of the unit. It’s easy to remove though – just unscrew the tiny security screw at the bottom and lift up. According to the documentation it can take up to 6 hours to charge depending on the power of the charger you use. (It comes with a USB C cable, but not a charger.) In my case it took about 4 hours to fully charge. Time will tell how long between charges, but that’s very dependent on how much activity it picks up and records. In my case I don’t expect a ton of activity, so hopefully will last a while between charges. The alerts fire immediately and the live video shows quickly on my phone via the app. The video quality is decent (Note this is the less expensive HD version vs. the 4K version) so I wasn’t expecting super high definition video. However, in good lighting you get HD quality video and image of who’s at the door or packages etc. The doorbell has 5 or 6 chimes options including one of a dog barking that I actually may use so that someone thinks there’s a dog inside when we’re not there and they ring the bell. Note that it does require 2.4Ghz WiFi to connect so it won’t work on a 5+ Ghz only WiFi network. My router is mixed mode and supports both and it connected very easily. Motion detection works well as objects approach the doorbell and I receive alerts on my phone withing 2-3 seconds which is great. There is an option for cloud storage (for a monthly fee) and comes with a free 60 day trial. I opted instead to just install a 64GB micro SD card to store the recordings locally and that is free. (Supports up to 256GB micro SD card). Note that if you go this route and someone ripped the doorbell off the wall you’d lose the recordings as they are stored in the physical memory card if you install inside the doorbell. That said - when you connect to it, you can download any of the recordings to your phone from the doorbell to save a backup of any of the recordings. I like that the videos are date and time stamped and you can also look at history of doorbell rings, motion detected, pets detected, cards detected, etc. You can turn on/off Do Not Disturb if you don’t want to get the app alerts and also set home/away modes and schedules. All in all, there are a surprising amount of features in this easy to use doorbell cam!

Everyone will have different use case , so for me, I have this indoors for my therapists. I have a child who has autism, and we have a dedicated playroom for our child. We have therapists that come in and out, so we have this in that room so we can watch our child, but also our therapist can ring the bell to let us know if they need something, if our child needs something, etc. Firstly, the set up was easy. It does take a little time, but it is well worth it. I would say no more than 15 minutes, and I'm a slow reader. Basically just open up the packages, getting the camera to pair with the chime, and then camera to be paired to my wifi. After that downloading the app then register, done. After setting everything I am very happy with the results. I can track activity, I can peep in for a live stream. I'm not allowed to show faces, but the quality of the images speak for itself so I can see the emotions, the mood my child is in through this camera very easily. Very good quality. Although the room is most of the time brightly lit, sometimes when the children play in the dark, the camera automatically goes into night mode and I can clearly see my child's face as well. The chime sits on the second floor where I'm doing my work, and the bell and chime connects easily without problems. The various options and settings in the app is great. You can change the quality of the camera if needed. If you experience choppy video or degraded video, decreasing the quatliy can help decrease the bandwidth and improve the stream. I'm on a basic network and I'm using high quality, I have no problems at all. The app also lets you check in on activity, as well as recorded clips. You can pay for a subscription, or you can use this WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION which is fantastic. Like all other Swann products, you can have a memory card in the device, and it'll record locally and you can review it on your smart phone of all the clips recorded without a subscription. This is the best feature yet. Not only do you not have to pay extra money for a subscription, but data is stored locally so there's no fear of privacy issues. Although most people will be using this for outdoors, for my specific use case, it fits the bill perfectly. I can't recommend it enough!

I recently added the Swann - EVO Wireless Video Doorbell to my home security setup, and overall, I’m quite pleased with its performance. Here are my thoughts after using it for a few weeks: Installation and Setup The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions provided. However, I encountered a hiccup when trying to add the doorbell camera to my existing Swann account. I had to re-install the app to get it to show any recorded video’s in the playback tab. This was a bit inconvenient, but once I got past that, the rest of the setup was smooth. Note, you do need to add a Micro SD card (not included) It can operate 100% wire-free with the rechargeable battery or connect to your existing doorbell wiring. The battery option provides you more installation options for those doors that don’t already have doorbell wiring. I do wish there was a bit more blank space behind the doorbell for the wires to fold into. I had to cut mine real short to get the doorbell to sit tight to the mount. If not perfectly flat, you cannot get the safety screw on the bottom to line up with the hole. (Pic attached of the screw I mention) The indoor chime is nice and offers 6 melodies to choose from. Features and Performance The video quality is good, with clear and sharp images both during the day and at night. The two-way audio feature leaves a little to be desired, when communicating with visitors the sound is very quiet. A little hard to hear from their perspective. Also, the audio on my side was hard on a windy day. Motion detection is quite sensitive, which is great for security purposes, but it can sometimes lead to false alerts from passing cars or animals. However, once I turned down the sensitivity, and properly highlighted the detection zone, I have had no more false triggers. App Experience The app interface is user-friendly and offers a range of customization options for alerts and notifications. Despite the initial re-installation issue, the app has been reliable since then. I appreciate the ability to review recorded footage directly from my phone, which adds an extra layer of convenience. NOTE – I have been running the Swann Hub with three camera and view all playback videos under the playback tab. The videos for this doorbell do not go to the cloud so they do not show up in the default tab. You must press the blue Storage card icon on the bottom right, then select the Doorbell and view them there. Design and Build The doorbell has a sleek and modern design that fits well with my home’s exterior. It’s also weather-resistant, which is essential given the varying weather conditions in my area. Overall Impression Despite the minor installation inconveniences, the Swann - EVO Wireless Video Doorbell has proven to be a valuable addition to my home security system. Its high-quality video, reliable performance, and user-friendly app make it a solid choice for anyone looking to enhance their home security.

I was looking to get Video doorbell but wanted a wireless one so that I didn't have to do any wiring and this Swann EVO wireless doorbell & chime ended up being the perfect fit for me. It has a very nice look, sturdy build in hand. It doesn't feel cheap at all. You can insert a micro sd card to save playbacks as well. The Swann app is very well put together and easy to use and navigate. It has 3 different modes, Home, Night, and Away. It also has a Schedules setup where you can set times for it to go into different modes which I thought was really cool. There's two different ways you can schedule, Basic or Advanced. Basic gives you a general setup for weekdays and then the weekends. Advanced gives more precise individually daily selecting on how you set the mode and specific times on each day. Under Summary it even breaks down what alerts were what for instance, motion, ring, pet, car, or package. Free coverage only covers Motion and Ring, you'll have to purchase one of the secure + packages to see the rest. The app also allows you to control multiple devices if you have other Swann products. It has a live view option. It has a do not disturb option where you won't receive push notifications if you're sleeping or are somewhere where you need silence. They have multiple coverage plans: Active Response, $4.99 a month or $49.99 annually, Extra (free trial for 90 days)Unlimited (free trial for 90 days) , Extra, Pro (free trial for 7 days), Pro Video (free trial for 7 days) Overall I was quite pleased and would highly recommend this to others

I have been using a paid subscription doorbell camera for years. The price kept going up so I decided to look into alternatives This Swann EVO Wireless Video Doorbell Chime meets my needs in every way. We put it on our side door. It is 100% wireless so it was quick and easy to attach to the area beside the door without worrying about having power for it. It came with a mounting plate to safely attach it to the outside wall. It was easy to add a MicroSD card to secure recording of people who ring doorbell. It has 2 way audio so it is so easy to tell someone I am unavailable or I will be there is just a few minutes. The HD Video resolution is very clear. In fact it may be clearer than the doorbell I have a paid subscription with. It is even viewable at night with night vision. It advertises "True Detect" heat motion and person sensing for reliable alerts. I didn't find this to be the case with mine. I had false alerts when the hurricane hit and the wind was so strong. I do not know who far away the chime unit can be and still pick up on the doorbell. We just laid ours on the top of the bookcase in the next room and it worked perfectly. I love that it picks up on people who are outside my door without them ringing the doorbell. I feel much safer with this doorbell & chime set up. I love that I can use my iPhone to receive notifications when someone is outside the door. It is a great video doorbell but don't forget to pick up a microSD card to record on as it does not come with the doorbell.

There are so many door bells on the market for buyers to pick from so making the right choice for your home is really an important decision to make. First and foremost Swann has been around for a long time. I have owned about 7 of their DVR systems and have tested them over the years. This was my first time to test one of their doorbells. Setup. So setup was a bit tricky for me. I have a stucco exterior wall and that means I don't have much room to tuck wires. I know that Swann was trying to be neat and clean with the installation but I wished it.came with some base plate that allowed for some space for the wires to be tucked in. With that in mind, I had to use my other doorbell base so I could install the doorbell. I guess I could have searched on line for someone who could 3d print something for me but that would have taken some time for that to happen. Also to this can wire to an existing doorbell DC system but it will not work on the existing chime unit. It will only work with the wireless chime unit that it comes with. Ok moving on to software and setup. After I hung the doorbell, I went through the setup process with android play. That took about 5 to 10 mins for wireless connection to step through and all that. Also I had to disable my higher frequency WiFi signal so I could use my 2.4 GHz to connect it to my WiFi. Over all use was easy. I already had an account for my 2 other systems so it recognized my device pretty fast. Toggling through all the options was super easy. Video quality was decent. I wished it was a bit higher in quality but for a budget doorbell with the option to not have to subscribe to their cloud services your can't beat that... 1 note on SD card. It requires a higher grade SD card. I initially used a lower grade SD card and it did not like it. It recognizes it. It allows me to format it but it will not record to it. After I figured it out with customer service it worked fine. Anyway. This is a great budget doorbell and I would recommend Swann as they are a solid company that has been around for a long time. Keep in mind my installation notes above.

This was a pretty amazing substitute for the full-sized HD camera I was using. This device's wide angle and the remote chime box, which is put anywhere in the house, work well together. The front porch security camera is a high-quality camera, but this one's perspective is even better. The doorbell button is brightly lighted, and the motion detector is precise. The speed at which technology is developing and offering services that are necessary for my requirements never ceases to astound me. There is a choice of door chime bells, and I choose one that even my senior mother can hear. The entire house is covered by the excellent Wi-Fi as well. The house has plastic siding and requires special screwing methods that don't sit very well. The only issue was installation, which can be challenging for someone who are semi-disabled. Other than that, everything works well and there are currently no issues. It took a few extra days to receive, mount and secure the product, but it was worth it because it only took a hammer and a finer-tipped Phillips screwdriver. My old camera's battery runs out in a few weeks, this camera seems to be easier and may last longer between recharges since it is not triggered as often by artifacts in the background. This is my third Swan camera installation, installed several decades ago for the VHS store. At the time, they were the market leader, and I installed a full system for them. With the innovative technology, its range of use for personal and business products has expanded, and it doesn't require a monthly service fee to perform the basic functions. It even comes with a memory card slot to record your videos. It's small, but it's still an advantage in its own right. Let's hope this doorbell requires less recharging than the larger camera that does almost similar functions, aside from ringing the doorbell.
