Great bike
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I personally purchased the bike to commute 2 miles to work. I got tired of Uber going up and down on prices and this lil puppy gets me to work within 5 minutes. For me well worth the purchase. Im 5”11 240 pounds and I believe the maximum weight is 265 and i have no issues with hitting max speed and tires feel strong and durable. All around great bike, and makes me feel like early teens all over again lol.

Expected a bit more for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The bike is nice in appearance, almost hard to tell it is an electric bike. Fast and good break. With pedal assist it is a nice transition to electric. So far major downfall is my son has only had it 20 days tomorrow and we had to already replace the back tire, tread was practically gone, and he had got a flat from glass but had replace it all instead of just the tube which ran $120.

Maxing the limits
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good for a kid but not powerful enough for a 200lbs adult. But may be too heavy for a kid. Pedals and other components are not the best. The finish is nice and looks low key. Less likely to be stolen. I had a $300 Kent eBMX and a that had a removable battery but definitely didn’t have the range or power this one had. Both equally at fun except for the twist throttle. Not sure if that feature is worth $500. But not looking like a fool on a pink bike. Priceless

Awesome Bike and Customer Service
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a solid, well made bike. My 13 year old son loves it. Unfortunately, 2 days ago he was the victim of a hit and run driver who ran a stop sign, leaving him injured in the road with damage to the bike's controller. I contacted SWFT about purchasing a replacement controller and they are sending us one free of charge. Fantastic customer service! The bike itself is so well made that outside of a few scrapes, there was no other damage to it at all. This is a very good bike and company to do business with.

Fun, sleek, multi-purpose e-bike!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary —-------- This is a very sleek, fun and light-weight e-bike (40 lbs / 18 kg) that despite its rather small size, as expected for BMX bikes, can be used not just on BMX tracks but as a commuter bike. It’s very well designed with unique features such as the ability to use in 3 different ways: as a “normal” bike where you pedal unassisted (which is a great feature when the battery is dead); in “assisted-mode” where you pedal a bit and the eclectic motor kicks in to help you go faster without much effort on your part; and as a “scooter” where you simply use the throttle and you don’t even have to pedal! Some caveats include its rather small size if you’re comparing it to a city or mountain bike, although comfortable enough for me (I’m 5’ 9” tall), and that if you intend to use it as a scooter without pedaling on hills, you will get disappointed as it can slow down to a crawl. Given this is an e-bike and not a scooter, this shouldn’t be a big deal as when pedaling in the highest assisted level 3, it makes the hills very easy to climb. Details —-------- The good: + Bike looks very nice and sleek with its all-black design. It looks like a regular BMX bike and not a ‘bulky’ e-bike + Light weight (40 lbs / 18 kg). It makes it easy to transport. Good for people who have walk-ups + I LOVE the fact that if the battery runs out, or if you just want to use it as a regular bike, you can still use it as a single-gear bike. It feels almost as if you were riding a regular bike if only just slightly heavier. This is not the case in other e-bikes I had tried where they feel super heavy when they run out of juice + It has a throttle if you just want to cruise without pedaling (although slow on hills where you would most likely have to pedal a bit) + Not a sudden start. You have to pedal once or twice before the assist / throttle kicks in. I actually prefer this as in other e-bikes I’ve tried, just a little push on the pedal makes the e-bike take off and can take you off guard. + Bars are wide and comfortable, although low. It is easy to change the assist speed, brake and use the throttle + You could easily use it as a commuter e-bike that you can carry and use as a regular bike if it runs out of battery. It looks like you could also put a bike rack on it. + It has 3 assist levels. For someone who does like biking, this is nice. Level one gives a small assist, level two is a lot faster and level 3 you are passing all the bikes and flying up hills (we live in a pretty flat city without large or steep hills). You could even use a level 0 (no assist) if you want to exercise more / use it as a regular bike. + My family and I are not BMXers but took it to a BMX park, the pedals did not hit the ground and the assist helps it go fast. We did not do any tricks so were not able to test the bike out in that area + Good on dirt trails, grips easily + Headlight is nice and very bright, enough to feel visible riding at night (but it has no rear light, only a reflector) + Controls are intuitive and function well + Back-lit LCD control panel with large numbers, so it is always easy to read and see your speed, battery charge level and assist setting, even at night + Fairly easy assembly instructions, though I let a friend of mine give assembly a try first and she had some trouble. It took me around 30 minutes to assemble, mostly due to reading the manual. If I had to do it again, it would probably take me about 15 minutes + Fun to ride! The not-so-good: - It's smallish, as a typical BMX bike, but the seat post is long enough for a ~5'11" rider - Low handlebar. This is also like any other BMX bike but I wish its height could be adjusted - Not an quick adjust seat making it hard to share the bike like we would want to - Not a quick release front tire - Bike slows down when not pedaling (as if you were pressing the brakes slightly). However, you could use the throttle to stay at a constant speed if desired, or you could use the “cruise control” feature when biking at least at 5 miles per hour. - The manual seems incomplete/incorrect. For example, it mentions a front brake, which the bike I got doesn't have at all. It also has no mention at all of a power button at the bottom of the battery that you need to press for it to work at all. I had to call customer service because the e-bike wouldn’t turn on after having charged it fully. They told me about this button and said it's mentioned in the quick start card. I verified it is mentioned there, but why not also mention it in the manual which is the one we need to follow for assembly?? - The electric motor seems kind of weak. While riding in my neighborhood, I started using the e-bike as a scooter by just using the throttle and not pedaling. This worked great on an even surface. However, when I took a not-very-steep hill, starting at full speed (~20 mph) and keeping a full throttle, it slowed down to a crawl. On the other hand, taking the hill in the highest-assisted mode and pedaling made it fairly easy to climb, certainly way easier than with a regular bike instead of an e-bike (as one would expect). - No rear light!! I cannot believe that after designing it with such a nice headlight, they neglected to include any rear light at all. They did include a reflector though. - Headlight is mounted on the frame, so it doesn't point towards where you're turning the handlebar. - It doesn't have much shock absorbance if you are used to a mountain bike. It isn't horrible going over some bumps in the road, but if you wanted to take it on a more serious dirt trail, it wouldn't absorb as much as a mountain bike. This isn't what the bike is meant to do so it is not a con, but good info to know if you are wanting to take it on beginner mountain biking trails or do serious tricks as a bmx bike. - Brake is a smooth stop but it doesn't brake super fast like some other bikes

FUN TIMES!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for something fun, fast and exciting, then look no further. The SWFT BMX eBike is full of fast paced fun, excitement and gets your heart racing a bit. I am not a BMX rider, but even I was able to bring a little bit of joy into my life. I am not new to eBikes and of all the ones I have tested so far, this one takes the cake. So, let’s go over the PROS, CONS, and the features of the SWFT BMX. Setup: The SWFT BMX eBikes will require some assembly and all tools are provided. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything put together and get the bike charging. You will need to install the handlebars, front tire, pedals, and pegs. Once the installation is complete, place the bike to charge and get ready to have some fun. The bike will take about 5 to 6 hours to fully charge the battery. ***THE BIKE HAS A SAFTEY SWITCH AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FRAME WHICH PREVENTS THE BIKES’ BATTERY FROM DRAINING. BE SURE TO TURN THAT ON BEFORE YOUR POWER THE BIKE*** I had an issue with this and I kept trying to power the bike on and it wouldn’t until I saw the switch on the bottom of the frame. Features: Paint: Love the matte black paint job Light Weight Design: This eBike is probably the lightest eBike that I have tested so far. The bike weighs about 40lb and has a weight capacity of up to 250lbs. Design: The SWFT BMX eBike has an amazing design, even though it is an electric bike it does not look the part. All the wiring, battery, and components have been built beautifully into the frame, so nothing sticks out and it looks just like a regular old BMX bike. Speed and Distance: The SWFT eBike has a maximum speed of up to 20 mph and is capable of traveling up to 15 miles with pedal assist and maximum distance of about 35 miles. The eBike uses a grip throttle system for acceleration. You will need to push off first before you can start using the motor to assist. The motor has three assistance levels, 1 being the lowest and 3 being the highest level of assistance. LCD Control Panel: The LCD panel on the bike controls everything on the bike. Holding the power button for 3 seconds will turn the motor on the bike. The assistance levels can be adjusted using the up and down arrow keys. Holding the up arrow key will turn on the bright headlights and holding the down arrow key will activate the cruise control mode ( Must travel over 5 MPH before activating), and using the throttle or the brake to disengage. All of your pertinent information is displayed on the LCD panel as well, such as your speed, Distance, MPH/KM, battery status and even your error codes. PROS: Light Weight Design Low Profile Fast MAX 35 miles on a full charge Overall, just fun to use. CONS: There was only one thing on the SWFT BMX that I was not a big fan of and that was the placement of the charging port and the safety switch. The charging port and the safety switch are located at the bottom of the frame and even though the port has a cover, which I am sure none of us will forget to put on before we take off riding, will eventually fill up with dust and junk. I think it could have been placed up a bit higher to avoid any issues further down the road. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the SWFT BMX eBike. I honestly can’t get over the fact it does not look like an eBike at all and how well everything was designed to fit into the frame of the bike. I love the build, the performance and how easy it is to operate. This is simply put an amazing and fun ride. I would highly recommend anyone in the market to definitely check this out.

A stealth E-BMX for the masses.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Back in July of this year, a family vacation to NYC included a bicycle ride in Central Park. As we rode around the park on a very hot day on rented conventional bikes, we had a limited time to cover the park and see all the areas we wanted to see. Watching a wide variety of E-bikes zooming by, seemingly unfazed by the mild hills and the temperature, was a wakeup call. During the rest of our stay in the city, we noticed E-bikes everywhere. Many were used commercially, some were used for commuting and I am sure some were used just for fun. It looked like all the people riding them were enjoying their rides and many of them were riding aggressively through traffic and up and around objects. So, would the SWFT BMX fit in here? Absolutely. Was it designed for here? Probably. Does it appeal to traditional BMX riders? Possibly, if they are open to a new interpretation. The SWFT BMX offering is a bit heavier than a conventional BMX bike and has the limiting factor of attached cabling to the handlebars that would limit doing certain tricks with handlebar spinning, etc. So, this bike is a bit of an oxymoron in that the emulation of a BMX bike can’t truly be achieved without the ability to do some tricks and because of the tethered nature of controls and comparatively delicate components on board, that’s hard to guarantee. But, it poses well in that area in other ways, as you may need to assume the aggressive posture of a BMX rider to fully drive and enjoy this bike considering its smaller frame size. Let’s face it; the posture required for casually riding around on this bike versus a traditional E-bike is a bit different. Oh, since I haven’t mentioned it yet, this SWFT BMX bike is a very good looking bike. Kudos to the design team, for not only making it look great, but for also stealthing out the E-components. Excellent job! Unboxing: The bike was pretty well packaged for the degree to which it was already partially assembled. Unfortunately, on the bike I received, there were several plastic parts that didn’t travel well. The front light assembly had a big chunk broken out of it and didn’t work, and the plastic housing of the handlebar-mounted accelerator assembly was also broken. Fortunately, neither inhibited the operation of the bike, but nonetheless need to be addressed for long term safety and reliability. A quick email to SWFT set the wheels in motion to get the parts sent out although they also have a form on line that serves the same function. They were very responsive compared to a lot of companies. As this apparently is a new model for SWFT, I would recommend either a sturdier material for these parts like nylon or another material less subject to damage when exposed to cold weather or shock as well as a change in procedure of packaging. I also found used tie wraps and packaging material that were just sitting in the bottom of the box that were no longer attached to anything. Assembling: The bike presented few problems in assembly other than the typical vagueness of the manual which undoubtedly was created with multiple models in mind and not edited sufficiently to solely pertain to the bike it is shipped with. (A very common issue.) References to a front brake assembly and optional parts that do not pertain to this model only serve to beg the question about why this model doesn’t have some of these features, or at a minimum as an additional cost option. Also the handle bars require a lot of tightening force to keep them staying firm, they need some form of knurling or traction help on the bar so that it doesn’t rotate or require so much force on tightening that it might break a bolt. Threaded bosses on the frame for a water bottle would also be welcome. I understand that SWFT is working on making more accessories beyond the helmets, battery packs and chargers that they have now. Hopefully there will be some interesting new parts available in the future. Safety: One of the areas of concern about E-bikes is the battery. Recently, a popular consumer reporting magazine did a story about the risk of lithium batteries in devices that are used in personal transportation such as this E-bike. To paraphrase their findings, they concluded that less expensive devices are more likely to have lower quality batteries that are typically not inspected by outside entities to insure quality and safety. The danger is spontaneous fires that may result in personal or property damage. Thankfully, SWFT has valued its customer’s safety by having their products inspected by Underwriters Laboratory and this BMX model proudly sports that logo on the axle of the front tire and the manual. So, if you were looking to compare this bike to another model that was less expensive, make sure you factor in safety and choose the one that has been inspected for component quality by a non-biased entity like Underwriters Laboratory. Conclusion: Although the weather has been inhibiting extensive use of the bike, when we have had it out, it was fun to ride, had smooth acceleration and seems like its going to be a great family addition. This bike will most likely be well received by most people that would consider riding a BMX style bike. It’s not for everyone, but almost anyone can ride it. Another positive aspect is the ease at which this compact design lends itself to carrying the bike up a flight of stairs at the end of a commute or into the back of a car or truck for a more distant ride. This is not as convenient for storage or transport as a foldable bike, but it is probably lighter and easier to carry than a conventional one. Two of our college-aged household members that have used the bike and whose viewpoints are incorporated into this review are vying for its commuting and recreational use once it’s a little warmer outside. Can’t wait to get out there and use it!

Spunky all arounder for commuting or just fun!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SWFT BMX style bike is a Class 2 e-bike – Throttle e-bike with an optional pedal-assist with a assist speed limited to 20mph. (Please check your local laws regarding what class of e-bike is allowed where.) In other words, the motor will only assist you up to 20mph but since you can still pedal it’s possible you could attain a higher speed. As stated, this is a BMX style e-bike. In other words it looks like a BMX bike, but isn’t designed for “tricks” like jumping or freestyle/stunt riding. BMX bikes generally tend to be a 1 size, and you don’t requiring “fitting” like a standard city/road/touring bicycle. The only adjustments available are the seat height/angle and the angle of the handlebars. This model bike is not designed for full leg extension while seated whether it’s an e-bike version or not. The bike comes partially assembled with the required tools, except for an adjustable wrench. I’ve worked in a bike shop for years assembling and repairing bicycles, and I can honestly say this was the easiest “out of the box” assembly I’ve ever completed. The 1st step is to unpack the box, and attach and adjust the handlebars using the included hardware. The rear wheel/motor assembly is already installed, so you only have to attach the front wheel using the included safety washers and nuts. There is no front brake so there are no other adjustments required other than making sure the wheel is straight before tightening it down. Axle foot pegs are also included should you choose to install them. Next you install the pedals which are labeled “left” and “right”. The bike has a rear disc brake, and every single disc brake bike I’ve ever assembled required adjustments to the mechanism…but not this one. I don’t know if I got lucky or if this is the norm, but based on how well the “pre-installed” parts were assembled I would guess this is normal. The seat post is then inserted and tightened at your preferred height, and the front and back angle can be adjusted. The all you must do is mount the included reflectors, double check all the nuts and bolts are tight, charge the bike, put on a helmet (please) and ride! I’m using the bike to commute to/from work, so I utilized the braze-on (pre-drilled) mounts in the rear frame to install a cargo rack to hold my computer bag. This is a great all around get me there and back and have fun doing it e-bike! This e-bike has a hub drive motor in the back wheel that has 3 power levels. Level 1 provides about 20% motor power and level 3 is 100%. Unlike a mid-drive e-bike motor, How fast you pedal has no relation to how much the motor assists you but it can increase your speed and extend your battery life. You can ride the bike with no power or pedal with power assistance or just start pedaling to engage the motor and then stop pedaling and let the motor do all the work. The power control module allows you to turn the display on, adjust your assist level from 1 to 3, odometer functions including per trip, distance in Miles or KM, battery status, cycling time, switch for the integrated headlight, speed and a walk assist mode to make pushing your bike easier. The throttle also has a cruise control feature! The stated charging time for the battery is 6 hours and the max range is 35 miles between charge, but that will vary significantly depending on how much you use the motor. While there is an integrated headlight and front and rear reflectors, I’d strongly urge you to invest in a rear taillight and use both the front and rear lights night or day!

Excellent eBike with minor personal issue
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I'll start this by saying, this is a nice quality bike, and one that's unique in being a "BMX" style eBike. You won't be doing any barspins due to all the cables, but they're necessary, as they accommodate the disc-brake bar, throttle, and control LCD display. It came mostly assembled, with just the front tire needing attached to the frame, as well as the handlebars. Brakes, chain, and even wired connections were already attached and pre-calibrated. The other minor attachments were the pegs, which just screw on (they ARE front and back specific), the seat/saddle, and the front/rear reflectors. Overall it was about a 20min assembly. Once I went to ride this, I spent a half hour trying to turn it on, reading the manual front to back, and completely baffled, the LCD wouldn't power on following their directions of "holding the LCD power button 3 seconds to turn your bike on/off". Apparently, they failed to note in their manual that there is a main power push button on the underside of the battery, by the charging port, that will allow power to the LCD. Something so simple to note, yet so frustrating for a customer. They do note this in their online section about the battery, but no where in the actual paper assembly and operation manual, meaning you have to get irritated before finding the answer through further research. Moving on, this eBike features 3 assisted speeds(shown as 1-3) , engaging the electric motor from 20% at 1, up to 100% on 3. It should be noted it's "assisted" acceleration, meaning you'll need to have the bike moving for the throttle to engage. So it will accelerate only as much as you are. For example, I like to pedal a couple times and pull the throttle back, it then let's me coast by motor at around 11-12mph, but if I pedal, I can get it up to the 19.8 it lists, which is quite fast if you aren't used to it on a bike. And while we're on the topic of riding, it's fairly strong and responsive. I'm over 6'2" and a solid 215lbs, it accommodates me just fine with no hesitation in throttle response. Braking is sufficient, I find myself wanting to lounge on it more than BMX, but that shouldn't deter you, as the pegs are substantial enough and solid enough to either rest your feet forward onto the front and ride like a cruiser with no effort, or stand on the rear and pull back an endless wheelie. The latter of which I'm still perfecting! Overall, the freatureset it nice for the cost involved. Tires have good tread and balance, and all pieces feel well thought out and of good quality, and it shows in the enjoyment in ride that I and my family get out of it. This bike also has a headlamp built in, which is a nice bonus. Sadly, I can't offer any insight in quality or illumination capability, as my unit was somehow damaged, so the entire light housing was cracked, and while showing it was engaged in the LCD after holding "up" for 3 seconds, it would not work and there was no power to the device using an ohmmeter. I engaged support, which is simply an email return form on their website. We'll see if they cover it. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the SWFT BMX eBike. It offers a great ride and ability to do unique tricks that you can't on other eBikes. As well as solid speed, comfort, and longevity.

Fun, electric bike!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a fun addition For myself, and the family! Set up was fairly quick took about 30 minutes to attach the handlebar, front wheel and bike seat. I then let the bike charge over night and proceeded with activating a bike the next day. Most difficult part of the set up was finding the power button which was not explained in the manual. Finally, after flipping the bike upside down, I found the power button on the bottom part of the bike, which was not easily seen. The manual did not describe this but after some due diligence, I found it and I was in business. Next the power button on the LED turns on the electric motor, and I was off after that. I found it very useful and great that the LED screen can allow you to switch to several different “gears “or electric motor assist, depending on your preference or how you’re feeling at the time. The higher the gear, the faster there’s baby rides. got up to 20 miles an hour and I felt pretty fast on this. The LED screen also tells you speed and mileage, which is very useful. Between me and my two sons, we’ve been having a blast with this electric bike over the past two weeks. One thing that surprised me is how long the charge holds. You can casually peddle every once in a while and use the electric motor as you feel, and it hold a charge for a good while. The throttle is really easy to use and it’s right next to the brake. The bike is really easy to use and ride and between myself and my two sons or 15 and 12, we had no problems. Some of the neighborhood kids had a turn on it too and they loved it as well. Great gift and really fun.
