Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the 65" Class 6 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Roku TV, particularly its picture quality, price, and Roku operating system. Many customers rave about the superb 4K HDR picture quality and find that it offers great value for the price. The Roku OS is also widely praised for its user-friendly interface and rich HDR content. However, there are some concerns about the remote control's quality and the TV's durability, with a few customers reporting issues such as vertical banding and a short lifespan.

    TV stopped working

Very disappointed my TV just stopped working for no apparent reason. It’s been mounted on the wall since we purchased it and one day we came home to turn on TV like usual and it wasn’t working. Very disappointed that this happened after a few years of having it. I have had TVs out last this one, this is very disappointing.

We purchased this exact same model from Best Buy back in September 2019 when it was on sale. We absolutely love the TV. It's picture quality and features are clearly superior in this price range. In fact this current sale is even better, which is why we purchased it again. The 4K Ultra HD is stunning and mesmerizing even six months later. While the remote on the 65R15 is dependent on line of sight and can be a little finicky at times, it's not anywhere close to discouraging us from this TV. The vibrant colors and built in Roku are well worth the price and any minor remote issues. I highly recommend this television to anyone who values quality at a very affordable price. One thing to keep in mind if you are going to mount this TV, and we have mounted this one. It's a vesa 300x300 for mounting purposes and mounts on the lower third of the back. That means you will have to adjust your mount down to get it to where you want the bottom to hang. I adjusted mine down about 10 inches and it lined up perfectly. Also because the screw holes for where the mounts attach to the TV are a little recessed you may end up needing to get slightly longer screws. The screws are machine screws M6-1.00 x (your needed depth). The screws that are in the TV are 15mm long, so figure that into the length you need with whatever wall mount you use. I had to use a spacer because there is a small ridge on the very bottom of the TV that interfered with the bracket. The TV weighs just under 45 pounds. I am very happy with everything about this TV and I'm glad to have it mounted where it really does brighten up the room.

This tv has an amazing picture. The colors are so vivid it's like the movies and shows are in 3D! The remote is easy to use and the smart TV interface is easy to use as well. I can definitely see the difference in picture with 4K UHD QLED. This tv is most definitely comparable to the other TV's in it's class, yet it sells for almost half the price!

I own the 55" version which i love, so upgraded to the 65". Expected for everything to be the same. Some things a LOT better: Goes without saying, but 55 to 65 inch move with this tv, will blow your mind by how much more you'll see. It's literally %40 more screen, at 4K at that. Crazy. Gaming, movies, youtube 4K city tours, etc. felt like I've never seen them before. 4K quality, colors, deep blacks - all excellent. Some things I've learned: With bigger LED TVs, some things are more noticeable. Motion feels different, "bloom" effect around all bright objects like all text, titles and even the volume in the corner, etc. against a black background are definitely noticeable and can't be looked passed. Check around, did research - turns out it's due to the dimming zone of TVs of this sort. I believe this has 120 of them. The rest of the zones turn off giving you those deep blacks, but the bright ones bleed over, hence the bloom effect of bright objects. Turns out, it's even worse on some more expensive brands, so can't fix it, unless you're going with a QLED or OLED. So not TCL's fault entirely. Dirty screen effect was also noticable, but less of a problem. Get their top tier line and all problems solved. Overall, I'm happy, but looking forward to upgrading to the new line of TCLs they showed at CES 2020. Exciting stuff. Love the brand overall for being able to afford a tv easily compared to and even rivaling the likes of Samsung, Sony and LG.

Great looking UHD/HDR picture for the money. Good brightness and color accuracy. Nice feature set too (local dimming, Dolby Vision, auto-game mode). Software quality control not the best. Audio output from TV to AV receiver lags behind - apparently a common issue with a lot of TCL models. So, I have inputs going through AV receiver first. Thankfully, my AV receiver supports 4k, HDR10, Dolby Vision.

This 65 inch, 4K TCL 6 series has an effective refresh rate of 240 Hz. That means amazing picture quality and true motion. Deep blacks and bright whites with truly astonishing color. I’d expect to spend over $1,000 easily for this kind of TV but, at $750 it is an unbeatable value. It looks great sitting above my fireplace and my whole family loves to sit around and watch our favorite shows and movies!

This is my third TCL purchase and each time the product is even better than before. The 6 series looks great inside and out. Picture quality is amazing and Roku is great. You can’t be the value of this set with any other brand out there. There is no need to spend hundreds of dollars more for a so called top name brand. This set does it all. Extremely happy with my purchase and you will be too!

TCL 6 Roku TV = Outstanding Deal

I jumped on the 4K TV bandwagon a few years ago before the Super Bowl and purchased a Westinghouse "SMART" TV. The size and picture quality were a major improvement over what I had. However, the picture would jump and the TV would randomly freeze. It would not recognize my Roku Streaming Stick and occasionally my Blu-Ray player would not show up on selecting the input. I started looking for a new TV about two months ago and after reading many reviews narrowed down to the Vizio P Series, Sony X900F, and TCL 6. The TCL ended up being the least expensive and had the Roku system built in which was very important to me. I waited until the recent price drop and purchased the 65". The hardest parts were getting it home in my car, attaching the feet, and lifting it onto my stand. I tested it out with OTA NFL games, standard DVDs, and finally with The Greatest Showman and Mission Impossible Fallout 4K UltraHD Blu-Rays using the Dolby Vision setting. Wow! Worth every penny! I have noticed some uneven or slightly darker patches on white screens during commercials but that does not bother me. Overall an outstanding deal for $899.00.

I was extremely happy with the ease of using this TV. The remote is small and simple. Easy to navigate. The ROKU a dream to use. Everything is right in front of us in big bold icons. The picture is clear with lots of options for settings to suit your tastes. Really pleased with this purchase. We did a lot t of shopping and think we got the best product for the money

This is a great TV. But, you already know that. It's worth the five stars and with the $30 Enhanced Roku Remote, the day-to-day experience compares quite favorably to more expensive brands. Why they didn't just include that remote is a mystery to me. The one it comes with does not feel like a Roku remote. It is slow and actually started to degrade after just a few months. I have seen one strange issue very rarely which is that one of the dimming zones will seem to get "stuck" at a slightly darker level than it should. Turning it off and on again fixed it the two times I noticed it and a firmware update later I have not seen it again. I would not hesitate to buy it again. I wanted something that would be good enough for me to use for games and when my wife is watching something on our main OLED TV. This TV isn't nearly as nice as that, but it looks so much better than any LED I have ever owned that I can't believe how much cheaper it was than our other TV. To get feature parity with our "fancy" set I had to add an external Bluetooth transmitter and the remote I mentioned before. These missing features don't equal a star reduction to me as the picture quality and price provide more than enough value.

I was looking for a TV with Dolby Vision and happened on a review for this TV. I couldn't believe that it was this good for the price. I figured I'd try it and probably return it, but it is just incredible. Everything looks 3 dimensional and the color is unbelievable (even without HDR or DV) so I am definitely keeping this.

Overall a great TV for the money! I've had it for about a year and a half now and still looks great. I Replaced a top of the line Panasonic 60" 3D plasma TV that cost triple the price of this TV. I did LOTS of research on different TVs before buying this 6 series and how they perform so I would definitely say I'm not an "average" buyer, as I care about many specs (things like local dimming / SDR and HDR brightness/nits etc..) for the money this TV is such a great bang for your buck. The picture quality and brightness of this TV is fantastic.. I have a 4 series in the bedroom which has been great as well but this 6 series blows it out of the water in terms of brightness and HDR picture quality. I liked the 6 series so much I got this same TV in a smaller 55" to have in the den for gaming, also replacing a Panasonic plasma. When I feel like I need to upgrade this 65" to a 75" I'll be looking at whatever 6 series TCL has again ( currently the 635 is out and is even better than this 2 year old 615 model). Also the roku platform is the best I've used - I recommend TCL 6 series roku TVs to everyone now.

I narrowed my bedroom TV search down to this and the Sony X900F. Both had similar ratings and although the Sony had a slightly better picture the cost of the TCL convinced me to go with it. Build quality was decent, the Roku interface was outstanding and quick, and the picture quality was very good. I liked the TCL so much I ended up buying a 4 series for the guest room. Unfortunately a month into ownership, the home screen began flickering. A few days later the home screen went black when I started it up. I tried unplugging and the issue persisted. I then tried the reset button and the screen showed green and white bars and it stayed stuck on that despite additional efforts. Thankfully Best Buy had excellent customer service and exchanged it towards the Sony.

had no issues... easy to set up, great picture and ROKU based! Can't beat the value you get for the price. I just didn't want to shell out 1000s of dollars for a family room tv that will be used for general network and sport watching.. the 65" screen is crystal clear and I can't tell the difference compared to higher priced items.

After seeing this TV review so well by CNET, I decided to give it a try for myself. Traditionally I have been a Samsung consumer, and have found that other LED manufacturers cannot compete with the picture quality; however, TCL has proven me wrong here. It has exceptional picture quality, great black levels, and is very affordable.

TCL is known in the electronics world for poor quality control on their panels. Knowing this going into buying a TV at Christmas time helped me to understand that if I wanted an above-average performing TV for a minimal price I needed to pay attention. Sure enough, the first 65R615 had serious banding issues, it actually looked like a chessboard! However, this is one of the reasons I buy from Best Buy. They took it back due simply to my description and gave me another one. I will tell you that the hype about the picture is true for such a low price (I paid $500 for the 65-inch model). It is a fantastic TV for the bedroom. I calibrated it with TCL iPQ Engine Mobile Calibration and I am very pleased with the results. Great value, great picture, not sure you can get a better value than the TCL when it is done right.

Surprisingly, this tv has exceeded my expectations overall for a set at this price to be honest. It looks gorgeous, colors are bright, HDR and Dolby vision look spectacular and the roku interface is awesome. Couldn't have asked for a better set honestly. Definitely worth it compared to the more expensive qled sets.

While still in the honeymoon stage of this purchase, I am super satisfied with this TV. The image is great and the Roku works seamlessly. If you are considering the S405 vs. this set and are wondering what's the difference, this set has local dimming (120 zones) vs. edge dimming on the 4 series. This greatly improves the black/white contrast across the screen and makes a huge difference, particularly in dark scenes. You're already considering buying a TV that stretches over 5 feet across, the extra couple hundred bucks is worth it. The online reviewers all agree that this set is the best mix of price and performance. The only drawback so far is that the remote does not have voice control even though TCL sells an otherwise identical version elsewhere for $30 more. It's not a deal breaker, but a nice extra that some might consider. I have a feeling these "different" models ensure BB doesn't have to continually price match. Cheers!
