I’ve had this tv for 1 week so far and am very satisfied with my purchase. I was going back forth quite a bit between this and the Vizio M7 75” or the TCL Series 6 Mini QLED 65”. After not a lot of help from the people of Reddit, I decided to go with this to save some money and get the larger TV. Also I had a great experience with my TCL I got in 2018. The biggest thing I want to address is the complaint about brightness and glitchy software. Absolutely zero problems with either of those things. The brightness is fantastic and besides the software being a tad slow at times, I’ve run into not glitches so far. Picture is a big improvement over my old 4K tv and the 75” is awesome for sports and movies. I will say Good TV is just fine. Roku is more simple and clear, but I read they made the screen brighter with Google version of the Series 5 so went with that because the operating software isn’t a big deal (and I still feel that way). The two pieces of criticism that are valid is the sound is still meh (get a Soundbar) and the coloring out of the box isn’t great. But switch the display to “movie” mode and that should fix it pretty well. Pros: Picture, brightness, size Neutral: Google TV Cons: sound is still mediocre Overall if you’re looking for an affordable TV upgrade from a standard 4K tv or worse, this is a great buy.

Great television with good picture. The menus are a bit slow and the apps lag, but overall the TV is good value for the price.

Great tv picture wise. Can be a bit buggy with the android os. Sometimes the voice to text won’t work at all. For the price it’s good.

This TV is awesome. The picture is clear and the Google TV interface is awesome. I can control TV volume from my phone, YouTube and other Google apps connect seamlessly. The voice remote works very well. We used the Bluetooth feature to connect our sound bar which was convenient.. with that said, the TV speakers sounded pretty good on their own. Recommend this TV for $999.

Got 2 defective sets - horribly disappointing

Extremely, extremely disappointed in this product. TLDR - 2 different sets both with defective screens. Ended up buying Hisense U6G. More detail - I purchased this TV based on the budget price point and decent reviews of the picture quality. I had also seen reviews about the buggy software, but figured updates would alleviate those over time. My problems were strictly with the hardware. The first TV had an issue along the top edge of the display screen. Hard to describe, but as you see in the attached photos, there were 2 "bumps" that came down into the image about 1/2 inch. Each "bump" was 2-3 inches wide. They were definitely not reflections, visible from any height/angle, and with different images and videos. On closer inspection it looked like one of the internal layers (polarizer? substrate?) had popped forward and misaligned with the rest of the screen edge, creating the bumps. I arranged for a replacement of the same model. The second TV had an issue flickering to black periodically. It would happen regardless of input, display setting or source type. Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, cable, homescreen all flickered. Sometimes every 5-10 mins, sometimes multiple times within 1-2 minutes. I did at least 2 factory resets, made sure the internet connection was strong, software was up to date, even the tried and true "unplug it and plug it back in after a bit". Nothing fixed the issue. Don't have pics of this as it's hard to capture a flicker. But I have one video where the picture is practically strobing. After 2 fails with this model, decided it wasn't worth trying a third time. Couldn't have had a worse experience and should've heeded the hesitations some pro reviewers have had with fully recommending this new first-year TV model. Didn't even want to try switching to the Roku version.. Done with TCL manufacturing. Switched to the other highly-rated budget set, the Hisense U6G.

What I was looking for is Google TV but I couldn't find alot of them with the software built in Sony has a few but not in my price range. After looking at the TCL for some time and looking at all of the review before I posted my own. I thought I would give it a shot. Im really surprised at this TV. Its very good in low light but during the day time it does have a slight glare. It could be because of my living room setup. I was able to purchase this and a new swivel mount and the price was still under 1000 bucks. I will have to update this if I find any other issues for now its a rock solid TV that I think will last a while.

I can’t give a half or no star so one star is my only option. I bought this unit four months ago and the tv is trash. If you wonder why these off brand products are so cheap it’s because they get the cheapest junk components I.e. the processor, motherboards, memory etc. After four months of mediocre performance for the last few days the unit will not respond to the controller. No I don’t mean it won’t change channels or sound, it will not let you access the system screens to perform simple functions like selection of input functions, screen functions, etc. The unit comes on to blank icons for the apps, programs etc. Lots of empty boxes which will not allow you to select say Netflix, Disney etc. Save you money and buy a brand name unit or at the very least get the extended warranty. Junk!

Had a 70” crystal uhd Samsung I bought last year and I thought it was great. That was till I bought this TV, colors are fantastic, blacks are deep and uniform. Normally I have to play around with picture settings for hours before I finally give up and say this will work good enough, the settings on this tv look amazing as is.
