I wanted to upgrade from my 39" Vizio 1080p TV and began looking at deals. After I saw this TV drop to an incredible $299 for Memorial Day, I could no longer ignore it. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and 55" is the absolute perfect size for me. Any larger and it would overtake the room, any smaller and well....we don't want small do we?! For the price alone it gets a 5/5 from me. As for how well it works, it is pretty seamless in its UI and integration and the Alexa Voice Remote is a nice feature. Many other reviews complained of the constant ads via the Amazon Prime home screen, and I can see why. It can certainly be annoying and a bit cluttered, but it comes with the territory. I personally am not all that bothered by it. This gets a 4/5 when it comes to UI. I hooked up my Xbox One X to see what true 4K gaming looks like and was not disappointed. There is certainly a significant increase in picture clarity and color sharpness. The HDR10 compatibility at 60Hz refresh rate is definitely impressive, but I did notice that it had trouble at times keeping up with the console, but it was nothing immersion-breaking. While bright and colorful, the contrast is not very good on this TV and the bright whites and deep blacks are nowhere near as good as other budget UHD TVs, like TCL or Vizio. It also lacks Dolby Vision which further affects gaming quality and picture smoothness when watching 4K UHD Blu-rays especially. Still, it looks good and is certainly a step up from any 1080p T.V., albeit about as good as one can expect for the price point. 3.5/5 for picture quality. The internal speakers are adequate, and even great for the price, but I do recommend purchasing a decent soundbar to really get that home theatre experience. I personally bought a Polk Signa S2 with subwoofer and couldn't be happier. Sound gets a 3.5/5 also, with a strong recommendation for a quality soundbar. Overall, this is far from the best 4K UHD TV you can get. It has all the standards one would expect from a 4K TV nowadays but at the cost of some noticeable quality drops (it's not gonna look like some floor models of slightly more expensive TVs, and cannot even remotely compete with the Samsung QLEDs or the like for an extra 0 at the end of the price). The main selling point is definitely the price. At only $357 with a 2 year warranty, it's a steal for the price alone, which is why I give it a 4/5 overall. I would recommend it to a friend on a strict budget, but would also encourage spending a bit more on a TCL or Vizio for slightly better quality. -Pros- +Ridiculously good price +Standard 4K functionality with HDR10 +Good picture and sound +Amazon Alexa Voice and Prime integration -Cons- -UI is constantly bombarded by ads -Picture quality is not as good as other 4K TVs in this price range, and can't even compete with the Samsungs and LGs for a few hundred more -No Dolby Vision -Sound is mediocre without a soundbar

Unfortunetly my Tv had an issue connecting to the internet but when we used an Apple TV hooked up to it, it worked perfectly with the internet. The next downfall was that every time I powered on the TV, the whole screen would glitch for 10 seconds or so. Then during playback while watching, the TV would glitch every 15 min for a Second. I believe my issues may be because I got it during Black Friday and I’m sure it may have gotten banged up during its way to the sales floor. This also my first smart TV (without using an Apple TV) and since the internet didn’t work, it was a bummer as I wanted to not use an Apple TV on a smart tv (defeats the purpose of buying a smart tv). Besides the bad I do believe if I didn’t have these issues it would be a great TV! I’m an average “watcher” so the quality is just great (when it was working for me) you do get what you pay for and if you’re thinking about buying this Tv and don’t mind a few pixels (especially during dark scenes) this will be just fine. If you want better quality color and sharpness, I’d look else where. Also hoping your Tv wouldn’t glitch and the internet connection would stay.

I found that set-up was easy and the picture is great. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and it is doing everything they say except connecting to my Alexa. However, I haven't found that to be a big problem with the voice activated remote. Besides, that's not the TV, it's mostly a problem with the Alexa app being too difficult to figure out. Really great picture and easy to use remote. I would recommend this TV for anyone who is looking for a great price with solid value.

Good price.Easy to use, remote make navigation easy and has only buttons you need,very simple and easy to use.4k picture is beautiful and good sound,Amazon Alexa voice remote. Overall this is very nice TV.It a good size , has several popular features and is reasonably priced.I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Clear image the remote comes with Netflix psp and more easy to set up with pre loaded apps and you can’t beat the price!!!

We've updated our household with devices that add convenience to our lifestyle, i.e. ECHO's, wifi thermostat, wifi outlets, Chrome-cast devices and Fire-TV stick, so adding a TV that's connected to our internet and has Alexa builtin was only a logical choice. The fact that's it's 4K UHD with HDR is huge also when compared to our other HD TVs. So far, we are really loving this TV!

So I got one heck of a deal on the tv. Brand new for $300 dollars, on top of this a month prior to this I needed to buy a new computer for my wife and opened a account. Well with that I received all kinds of points. So much as to pay for half of the set! Crazy good! So as far as the TV. I put it outside on my patio. The down fall of it , Amazon does not allow a roku or I can’t find the app. Since we stream everything out here I still have to use my Roku. Other than that it’s fantastic

I have owned the Toshiba 55" 4K Smart FireTV for 2 months and I could not be happier. The Picture is outstanding, the speakers are also very good with good volume and clarity. I am also a fan of the Fire TV, loads of free movies and shows. It even has Alexa built-in. You will not find a better quality TV for $379 anywhere. I am thoroughly satisfied with this TV and have no regrets.

Decent picture easy to use and for the price worth the money.

Have only had this new Toshiba for a week, but so far I’m really satisfied with it. Have my Sony sound system hooked up to it. It’s not a top of the line TV but it worked with my budget. I don’t need the beat and most expensive to be satisfied. Have a digital antenna hooked up to it for local channels and picture is great.

55” @ $299...what a deal! I’ve not used fire before so it’s taking getting used to without station numbers. The voice recognition is spotty so 4 stars. Picture and sound are great out of the box. Better than the Samsung I had. Would buy again.

Put together in 10 minutes.Better sound Than My Samsung’s.If You have Amazon Prime it’s a Big bonus.I hooked up My direct TV and the picture is great.You don’t have to buy a fire Stick.

I obviously love the Toshiba brand. This was my 3rd one. They are so simple to use and have worked for me flawlessly. In fact, as I'm writing this review, I have another on the way. Thank you Best Buy and Toshiba!

Amazing deal for $299. I've seen better pictures but not at this price point. I love the fact that you can browse the web on a 55" TV.
