I also got an AC2600 TP-Link router was extremely happy with the results. I would recommend that anyone who wants a performance increase get this combination. (Keep in mind distance and walls will lower the performance. My wife's setup is 2 walls and 3 times the distance, so, she is getting 800Mhz(Of course we both are hard wired to the 1gig connect - got to have backup!!).

I purchased this wifi card and an AC 1900 router. I maintain a constant 40ms ping while playing online and notice no drops in speed vs ethernet connection. Reliability: Other than very occasional dropped connection (once in a month at most) which can be cleared by quickly turning off Wifi and turning it back on, I have no issues with connection. Speed: Speed is not an issue. I don't even think I would have better performance with a wired connection. Installation: Because it is configured with a small PCI-e connector, you can pretty much choose any PCI-e lane to use with this. Remember to screw in the provided external antennae. I installed the driver from the DVD provided first and then upgraded it from the TP-LINK website. The provided driver installed on my Windows 10 computer without issue and the updated driver was easy to find on the website. With any network, your connection is only as strong as the weakest link. This should be purchased only if you have a compatible router or plan on getting one. Keep in mind, though, that having a high-capacity router does not guarantee the best experience. You should take the time to set it up properly or getting it professionally set up.

Can't say enough good things about the speed, reliability, and range of this network adapter. It's downstairs and a couple rooms away from where the router is and I still get phenomenal speed and constant connection. No issues!

This is a review of a free product received from TP-LINK as part of the review program When I first opened the packaging of the TP-Link Archer T8E AC1750 Dual-Band PCI Express Network Adapter I was amazed at how great it looked. It looked like a high quality adapter. The black on black look of it is awesome. It has a very large heat-sink that I'm sure does some great cooling when under a load. It also has 3 external antennas. Installing the Archer T8E was really easy using the quick installation guide and the Driver and Utility CD that is included. the instructions are well writen and straight forward. Took me no time at all to get my Desktop computer up and running again. The upload and download speeds are blazing fast now compared to my old Wireless N network adapter. I am also able to access the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz band. I was unable to access the 5Ghz band prior to installing the Archer. The T8E is capable of reaching wireless speeds of 1300Mbps on the 5Ghz band and 450 on the 2.4Ghz band reaching a combined speed of 1750Mbps. Since installing the Archer T8E I have had no problems, lag, or drops. I am really impressed with how this wireless network card preforms. I will certainly be recommending the Archer T8E to all of my family and friends.

I did not have an Ethernet run at the new location for the desktop PC, so decided to use T8E to access my network and internet. Installation of the hardware was as easy as any other PCI card – open the case, remove one screw, put the card in, put the screw back, and close the case. Note: this card uses the short PCI-E slot. Windows 10 does not have a driver included for this card, so I just downloaded it from the TP-Link website on another computer and installed from the USB stick. There is a CD included with the driver, but I wanted to make sure that I am using the latest version of the driver, so downloaded it from the web site. Once drivers installation was complete, the card became operational right away, and no reboot was needed. Within minutes the desktop was connected to my network and internet. Browsing internet and playing media from my NAS feels as if the PC is connected via Ethernet. When I ran the speedtest.net test, I’ve received same results as when I ran the test via Ethernet wire. It is also worth to note that although it is not advertised, this card works under Linux. Following instructions found on the internet I was able to get it working under Linux Mint.

I bought this to install in a Cybertron PC that I purchased at Best Buy that didn't have a wireless internally and is working perfectly. I had the Geek Squad install when the PC came into the store.

These cards are the worst WI-FI cards I've ever seen, they will ONLY see your 5G network router if it is on a very VERY low channel (4 or 8) anything higher and forget it using 5G. Technical support is a total joke, I kept getting Chinese women that I could not understand, even when I called the open hours for the California site, I had them 4 days and returned them ..... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!

This is a review of a free product received from TP-LINK as part of the review program. I have used countless WiFi adapters over the years & it's been my experience that there was little difference between cards & USB versions. Well, that changed when I used the T8E. The first thing you notice is the compact nature of the card itself. Next the build quality is very solid & has the weight you would expect from a card used in the corporate IT world. Another standout feature is the heatsink that covers the front of the board. That shows the card is a high performance component indeed. Yet even under heavy data load, the heat produced wasn't enough to be concerned with. The heat dissipation is outstanding. The 3 antennas are not intrusive at all & even fanned out can't be seen from behind the computer case. Performance with the T8E is outstanding! It maintains a solid connection & is able to transmit as well as receive at full power without the slightest drop in either. I was able to stream HD video without the slightest glitch. Playing online games was a smooth ride as well. I was also able to place the the PC using the T8E anywhere I wanted within my home & never hit a dead zone or experienced a drop in signal or throughput. All in all, you can't beat this card for the selling price. It's definitely a win win & a no regret purchase.

A “Solid” Wireless Card with Great Performance!

This is a review of a free product received from TP-LINK as part of the review program. The first thing that you notice when opening the Archer T8E box is how massive the heatsink feels on this wireless card – there won’t be any problems with this card overheating and dropping off in performance like some others do. The box contains the card with three antennas, a spare short bracket (for HTPC mini-case installation), the install CD, and a printed Quick Installation Guide. The CD contains an extensive User’s Manual, with detailed information for advanced applications, such as using the card in “Soft-AP” mode as an Access Point in Windows 7 or 8.1. After physically installing the card in a PCIex X1 slot, it is recognized when the CD runs, and you can choose to install just the wireless card driver or to install both the driver and the TP-Link Wireless Utility. The TP-Link Utility may provide more network information in an easy to use format if you prefer it over the standard Windows Network Connections utility. The User Manual provides screenshots of the utility. I use both, in addition to several other wireless network monitoring utilities that provide meaningful performance measuring capabilities. I installed the T8E in my wife’s computer in the laundry room, which is located one floor above and about 50 feet away from my router. There is no Ethernet cable to the laundry room (??), so I have been using a three antenna, Dual Band N900 card (450Mbps max on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands) in her computer over the past year. I now run several wireless networks, after recently upgrading my old router to an AC1750 router, which provides up to 1300Mbps on the 5GHz band and 450Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. So, I was eager to test this T8E wireless card in this worst-case location, since the T8E spec’s match my best router’s capability. After installing the T8E, I measured the signal strengths of all of my wireless networks, and decided to perform some data transfer tests on the 5GHz band from my new main router. My old wireless card showed a -56dBm signal from the router at this location, and this improved to -49dBm when using the T8E, as measured using InSSIDer. That means the T8E signal reception is 4 times stronger than my old card when using the same 5GHz channel router signal. Windows Network and Sharing Center shows that the old card connection speed varies from 144Mbps to 450Mbps; and the T8E varies from 702.5Mbps to 1.1Gbps. These minimum and maximum readings were observed over time, and the variability is likely due to interferences present at any given time. Internet download speeds are not a meaningful measure of data transfer performance, so I use LAN Speedtest to accurately measure the write and read speeds for 1 Gigabyte of data file transfers to my network server. The 1 GB files are transferred wirelessly to the router, and then by (1GB) Ethernet connection to the server and return by the same path. I performed multiple tests, alternating between the two wireless cards in order to ensure the same router signal strength to both cards. The average result of 9 transfers done at three different times (on both cards) were: For the old N900 Card: Write = 58.5Mbps and Read = 129.2Mbps; For the T8E Card: Write = 125.4Mbps and Read = 298.2Mbps. So, the T8E wireless AC1750 card provides at least twice the file transfer speed when compared to my old Wireless N900 card, when used in my worst computer location. I was planning to evaluate the T8E in one other bad location, but my wife has other plans. I thought the old card was working OK for her video, but she has noticed the definite improvement with the T8E, with no more dropped signals or buffering delays. The TP-Link T8E has much better performance than my old card, and we are definitely loving it!
