Tapas Smart Plugs Review I recently had the opportunity to try out the Tapas Smart Plugs, and I must say, they offer a seamless blend of functionality and convenience. Here’s my detailed take on them: Design & Build: The design of the Tapas Smart Plugs is sleek and minimalist, which blends effortlessly with home aesthetics. They are compact, ensuring they don't block adjacent sockets, which is a thoughtful design feature. Installation & Setup: Setting up the Tapas Smart Plugs was a breeze. The companion app guided me through the process, which took less than a few minutes from start to finish. They easily connected to my home Wi-Fi without any hitches. Functionality: Once set up, the smart plugs are incredibly easy to operate. I could control my appliances remotely via the app, set schedules, and setup HomeKit integration. The ability to set timers and countdowns for each plug added a layer of automation that I found very useful, especially for managing power usage. Performance: In terms of performance, the smart plugs have been very reliable. They respond quickly to commands, whether from the app or via voice control. I also appreciated the energy monitoring feature, which provided insights into the power consumption of connected devices. Value for Money: Considering their features and ease of use, Tapas Smart Plugs offer great value for money. They are competitively priced compared to other options on the market, making them an attractive choice for anyone looking to add smart capabilities to their home. These are the only smart outlets I have experience with. I have owned them almost a year now, and created device schedules (On and Off at fixed time of day), Smart Action shortcuts (tap to turn On, but automatically turn Off some time later), and Automations (Turn on 1 hour before sunset and turn off based on an other condition), etc. I added them to Google Home (only the devices transfer, not smart actions) and created some automations in Google Home. For just automation and device schedules, Tapo app is more capable than Google, just cannot use voice activation or integration with non Tapo devices. 4 stars because of that and requires internet for automation, which is typical for most platforms. Device schedules are local to the device though, and Matter hubs with local automation are coming. Has no power/energy use monitoring, which would be interesting, but is not needed for automation, and would add cost. Smaller than any traditional plug-in timer and much more capable. Very good value when on sale.

These little smart plugs have been great in the few weeks I've owned them. Setup is simple, takes less than five minutes. I like that they're small so they'll fit in most places. I've been using them for a couple lamps in my bedroom and being able to turn them on and off from my phone so convenient. Hopefully they will come out in different colors in the future as not all my outlets are white.

While it was a cheaper price than the Amazon type, it works as well. It took a little longer to get working, but now I can not tell any different with any of the other plugs in my house.

Theses little plugs are great. I use one for my training center (virtual bike trainer, fan, screen. It’s attached to Apple Home, so I tell Siri to “turn on the training center”. No more individual switches. The other turns a “dumb” reading lamp on. Cheaper than a Hue bulb or smart outlet at half of the 2-pack price. They’re stupid simple to set up, and can be moved anywhere.

Easy setup and easy to use, i configured with tplink app but I'm using it with Alexa for manage a night lamp, works amazing. Best of all you do not need to do any electrical job. And can be manually turn on/off with side push button

Great plug that works with SmartThings hub. Super easy set up using matter. Originally bought one for Christmas Tree lights- it worked as designed so I purchased a few more for lamps, iron, etc. Haven't had any issues with it losing connection as it's setup via matter. Overall definitely worth the price.

Easy to use, quick response time. The smart plugs don’t get hot and work with my apple Siri stuff

I tried a box of 3 and liked them so much I bought more, they work great and are very easy to set up so if your thinking of automations to your home or ??? Pick up a box of these I think you will find for yourself what I'm talking about and you to will buy more.

I have previously used the Roku smart plugs and they were constantly malfunctioning and needing replaced. I have used these plugs with NO ISSUE. My new favorite brand and I am looking forward to purchasing more products from this company.

I have these linked to my Alexa to control the lamps in 2 seperate rooms. I love the convenience.

Tapo is great. One of better companies. Have it set up with my HomeKit and I haven’t regretted it. Easy use and turn off anything from my phone.

Used the smart wifi plugs to control the Christmas lights inside and outside of my home. “Alexa, outdoor lights on”. Did the same for each room in the house as well. What a convenience! Then I decided to power up my new lionel trains as well. It all worked flawlessly for our Christmas Holiday House Tour.

Perfect little switch for my garden, which lives in a subterranean environment. Besides being able to control it from a device the software also has timers, time on/off, and my favorite feature is that it can be set to the sunrise and sunset.

Tapo smart plugs are great. I went out of town and these work great. Price for three make it very affordable. Will definitely give this product a thumbs up.

I have several of these - i have them hooked with with alexia i use them for lamps, lights, fans and even the christmad tree. They work great for winters when i need plant loghts indoors!

Easy set up, and very configurable. I purchased to use for Christmas light window decor. You can set up the device to go on and off basically at any given specific time of the day.

Works as described. I got it when I bought a router, I have no idea why but works great. It even works with home assistant; with some set up of course.
