    The cons outweighed pros

Pros: Wireless; 7.1 DTS surround sound; clear, crisp audio Cons: The hardware design was inconvenient as I couldn't plug the transmitter in the rear USB port of the PS4 console while also having the console hardwired to my modem. Sure, I could have gone WiFi with the console, but I prefer not. Nor did I want to take up one of the two USB ports in the front for the transmitter. So I set it all up with the transmitter being connected to the TV instead. However, this only gave me sound from the desktop PC and the PS4 through the TV. They would not broadcast sound if I were actually watching television.

Bought specifically for use with Xbox One

I bought these for use with my Xbox One for those late night gaming sessions and occasional movie watching. The set doesn't specifically designate it works with the Xbox One but you can make it work. There is an optical out on the rear of the Xbox One that you will use to hook up the headset module to. I have my Xbox One setup using HDMI for normal sessions but when late at night I go into the Xbox One settings and change the HDMI Audio to Off, Optical Audio to Bitstream Out, and lastly change the Bitstream Format to Dolby Digital From DTS Digital Surround Sound. Once I do that I power up the headset and I am good to go. Overall I think the headset is very comfortable and the sound quality is great. You have to play with the different surround sound and tone settings though to get the best experience based on if you are gaming or watching a movie. You can bing or google to see what people recommend. Quality appears to be good and the battery life has been great. My longest session has been about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs with no discomfort or loss of battery life. I believe it is rated for 12 hrs of use. It does make the connecting tone one time a few minutes after I turn them on but it hasn't disconnected yet on me and I haven't experienced any issues. For the price I got these when they were on sale it was a great deal. They filed the need I had and have performed very well on each occasion. I can't speak for the mic on them because I don't usually like to chat with other people when gaming online and it requires an additional adapter to use. If I had one complaint it would probably only be that I can't remove the mic. I just have it pushed up and it doesn't really bother me that much when gaming. If you can snag a pair of these for under $100 I would definitely recommend them but not if you are in the $150 to $200 range there are others out there with a lot more features and sound field sertings.

Great sound, but not really wireless

The headphones are very comfortable and have great sound, but they require a cable to connect them to the PS4 controller for the mike to work. The cable is extremely annoying while playing. There are separate game and mike volume controls on the left ear piece, but then the cable has separate controls for the mike. I often find myself unable to hear the game chat because either the headset or the cable controls have the chat sound turned down from the last person in the house who used it. Overall, I found the Sony PS3 (truly) wireless headset to be far easier to use and adjust, but since it isn't compatible with the PS4 I had to get a new one. I would never pay the full list price for this headset, but as a Black Friday deal it is decent.

The headphones are great. Amazing sound, long battery life (8 or more hrs of continuous use/play), very comfortable around head and ears. A must have no matter what type of game you play, but definitely for shooter games like Battlefield (no more sneaking from behind). It's not compatible with the Bluetooth of PS4, therefore you need to have the headphone connected to the controller to use the microphone. If you are using these headphone with a PS3 or Xbox 360 you shouldn't have this problem. Overall, the Turtle Beach Ear Force PX4 receives 4 thumbs up (2 from me and 2 from my husband). :o)

The sound is awesome, Bluetooth is a cool feature. My 2 year old loves to wear them and dance to music and is amazed by the ability to hear herself in the microphone. Only complaints I really have is that they don't have a very long range and when walls come into play they loose total signal. They also have a problem staying fixed in one spot on my shaved head and after a few hours they tend to get a little warm around the ears from body heat.

The headphones are great. They are comfy and sound very good, especially for gaming. The wireless box that sends the signal to the headphones is good, but should be updated to be a little bit more user friendly for changing the settings. If these are on sale, it's a good purchase. If not, spend a little more for something better.

Sound quality is amazing!! Comfortable enough for long sessions, mic does a great job of picking you up with no distortion, bluetooth works well. Set up is easy enough. If the buttons were raised just a little more so you could easily feel them with the headset on it would be better. Playing games and talking on the phone at the same time works well. Overall great buy!

These headphones are great. Ive been looking for great headphones for my PS4 for a very long time an i finally found them in these babies. The battery life says it all these bad boys last a very very long time and thats always a great thing. the quality is up there as well great sound and surround sound features. There is one problem though. These headphones need to be plugged into your controller to talk to your friends. if you want to watch a movie or play by your self you dont need to be plugged in but if your a big talker like me you will need to plug them in. That means bringing them where ever you go in the house if you want to talk.

Love the sound quality, the mic is very sensitive i have to put the mic away from my face or everyone hears me breathing. The only other complaint is that when using the PS4 you have to plug a wire that connects to the headset to the controller to talk to people in game. I connected my phone via bluetooth and you can play your game listen to game and turn down the volume in game chat too. Other than than I was glad I purchased it. I have gone through 2 different ps headsets both crapped out within a year. I hope these will hold up

This is an amazing set of headphones. i Use it primarily for epic Battlefield matches and COD. Initially difficult to setup as the instructions that came with it did not describe PS4 setup, however online manual and forums cleared it up. Once set up these have multiple level setups and 6! (yeah 6) different surround angle setups. Trust me you'll eventually find the best combo for you. For the price totally worth it, wireless, multi link bluetooth (yeah listen to your game/movie and use your phone). Battery life never crosses my mind since its so long. For movies i recommend angle setup #4 (pushes rear noise to greater angle) and level setup #4( both bass and treble are pushed up) For games try angle #3 and level #2. Oh and please ensure your in FRONT of the screen. The headphones are wireless but they dont follow your head movements as some have complained. Overall totally worth it. Especially late night movies, i no longer have to worry about the volume =)

Long Battery Life, Good Sorround Sound & Mic

This headset is being used with a PS4 so that is what I will be focusing this review on. The set-up took around 15 minutes to set-up and working. The longest part is testing if the unit works because the instructions don't state exactly how the unit should respond. For example, I couldn't tell if the lights should be solid on or blinking. Turns out that the transmitter should have FOUR solid lights on when the unit is functioning with surround sound on. The light on the headset should be blinking if working correctly. I mostly have the headset with default settings so I can't say what any of the buttons do or how well they work on the headset. The virtual surround sound works very well. Using the unit while playing The Last of Us factions, I can tell where other players are by listening for there player's footsteps. The mic also works well. I have not had any other players complain or point out that I am not heard or sound bad. The only complaint I have about this units mic is that to use it with the PS4 I have to plug it into the DS4. This is a minor annoyance and I knew about it before buying, just want everyone to know about it.

I purchased this headset for my son to play on his xbox 360. I favored this headset because it's wireless and it was supposed to work for xbox 360. Even though the box says it works for xbox 360, and it comes with a cable for xbox 360, it's not a talkback cable, which prevented us from controlling the chat volume heard via the headset. The volume controls on the headset are just for the game volume, not chat. As the cable that came with the headset for the xbox 360 was useless for us, so we had to purchased a turtle beach talkback cable from Amazon, which worked great. Now we can control the chat volume via the talkback cable and the game volume via the headset. As for the charger, it lasts forever and so far, we haven't had any issues with battery running out in the middle of the game. However, if it does, the charging cable is so long that we can continue playing and charging at the same time if necessary.

Best sound quality headset I've owned. However, the chat volume control doesn't work on my particular set. It's very comfortable, great for extended play hours. Battery life is as good as advertised. A little on the expensive side but since it's rechargeable the return comes on the cost of batteries. Downside- not compatible with XBOX ONE.

Great sound and battery life. Easy to set up. Nice feature set, works with anything with an optical out. Blinking LET'S cannot be turned off, nor can the blue tooth search when the headset powers on.

These headphones work great for playing games on the PS3. The microphone is awesome and the sound is superb. There are several different tone settings on the unit as well as surround sound settings so it is quite versatile. That being said I would love to have been able to use these headphone for something other than the PS3. I though being blue tooth that I could connect them to my laptop, blue tooth capable, and my phone. They do connect, but they work like a phone headset with mic, i.e. mono sound. I bought the turtle beach surround sound module hopping that I could use them that way but it has to be connected to the wireless base, which is already connected to my PS3 and behind my entertainment unit. Other than that, great headphone.
