Great to connect to the aircraft video system in lieu of using their wired headphones. I can now use my Apple AirPods with noise cancelling. Easy to connect and so far only used for 2 short flights. The test will be my flight from Florida to Italy. It is overpriced but better than not having it.

The AirFly Pro works without complications and the signal to the Bluetooth headphones reaches easily across my medium-size room. And the wireless headphones sound just as good as my former wired ones.

Purchased as an accessory for use my PS Portal due to their proprietary design to only allow Bluetooth use with Sony PlayStation products. They work just fine say with Apple AirPods or some other non-Sony product. If you're curious, just look up guides on YouTube. It's pretty straight forward.

I love this gadget! It's so simply and I am NOT a techi. I fly often & love it for the movie screen to bluetooth it to my headphones...heaven! The batteries lasted throughout the entire flight including airport time from the US to Ireland.
I bought another one for a girfriend who is very tech savvy. She loves it in her car and for her tablet. The device is so light and packs easily too.

Right out of the box, the Twelve South AirFly Pro worked flawlessly with absolutely no hassle. Pairing it to my Bluetooth headphones was a breeze, and within seconds, I was wirelessly connected to my in-flight entertainment system. No frustrating setup, no random disconnections—just seamless audio transmission. The compact design and long battery life make it a fantastic travel companion, whether you’re on a plane, at the gym, or using an older device that lacks Bluetooth capabilities.
The versatility of the AirFly Pro is also worth praising. Its ability to function as both a transmitter and receiver adds value, making it more than just an airline accessory. The audio quality is crisp with minimal latency, making it an excellent choice for those who don’t want to be tethered to a wired connection. The dual headphone feature is also a great bonus, allowing two people to share the same audio source without any noticeable drop in quality.
That said, the price is undeniably steep for what it offers. While it performs well and does exactly what it promises, it feels like it should cost a bit less. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it does make you question whether it’s worth the premium compared to some more budget-friendly alternatives. However, if convenience and reliability are what you’re after, the Twelve South AirFly Pro is still an easy recommendation despite the higher price tag. If you travel frequently or need a Bluetooth solution that “just works,” this is definitely one to consider!

Several years ago I bought an inexpensive BT transmitter for airplane use. It was an unsatisfactory experience but in part because of the listening product I used at the time. This time as I faced a long direct flight to Europe and not open Apple Max headphones with great noise cancelling I decided to try again. This product wasn’t cheap, nor was it easy to pair the first time around, but once I discovered a way to achieve pairing, AirPods Max headphones sounded fantastic in the plane and I wore them continuously 10-11 hours of both flights. The trick for me was using the reset button to initiate pairing after a reset. I found this ‘last resort’ troubleshooting step the simplest way to initiate effective pairing.

I purchased the airfly pro after finding limited reviews. These are great. I’m not sure why this product has not caught on with all airline travelers using the airline entertainment system. The pairing to my Apple AirPod pro was very easy. That allowed me to have hours of noise reduced blocked sound from my AirPods and no wires. After charging the airfly pro, the charge held for full 7.5 hour flight and I still had charge left. Connects by Bluetooth so any Bluetooth enabled wireless EarPods or over the ear headsets should work. Instructions with the product are clear for multiple type of devices.

Wow! This worked even better than I thought it would.
Pairing was easy, and it worked perfectly. I didn't try to pair two headphones with it, but it worked seamlessly with the one that I did pair with it. The sound was great, what I'd have expected.
But the 'meat' of it is that the pairing was perfect, easy, and all I was concerned about was accidentally leaving it plugged in. I could even leave my iPod Touch safe in the seat back, and still have a solid connection all the way to the restroom on a plane. (YMMV)
The only thing that might be a problem for really long flights is this does have a battery inside, I would assume that it would stop sending audio if that battery dies. I wonder if it can be charged and used at the same time. Don't know the answer to that one.
YES! It can be used while charging. Awesome!!! (It uses a typical USB Micro-B cable)

Connecting apple airpods to windows/linux computers make them impossible when switching to other apple devices later in the day unless you actively remember to forget them from that device first: So I use this as a cross between instead? It makes my life much easier and i’m able to get more of it’s worrh by using them outside of my travels as well. Might purchase another one just in case though.

I had heard about this receiver that can be used on planes with wireless headphones and wanted to try it. It is small and very easy to pair with my AirPods Pros, and worked very well. I also liked that I could use in my older car to play my music. Definitely a good investment.

I love my Apple AirPods Pro. It was so annoying having to switch to the free flight earphones when wanting to watch a movie. Not anymore… These allow me to seamlessly keep the headphones of my choice and not have to plug / unplug when a passenger next to the window wants to get out and use the facilities. Additionally, I get to keep my active noice cancellation!
