Amazingly bright and vibrant colors, much better than most other led strips. If you are looking for leds that really look like neon lights these are it. And if you are debating because of the price they would be 100% worth it in my opinion they are probably the best led lights that i have. They also come with papers to help you mount them easily in certain designs. The images dont show the true colors that they can make but they do show one of the designs you can make with the paper.

I have used cheap battery powered LED strips a few times before with pretty good results, so I was concerned about the value of these. After using the Twinkly Flex for a few days I can tell you that they are worth it. I was really impressed with the build quality and the phone app used to control them is extremely well designed. Pros - Well built - AC power supply with a long power cord (around 11ft total with a little under 6ft from the LEDs to the controller and almost 6ft from the controller to the wall plug). - Bright LEDS with a great range of colors - Easy setup via app. I was able to link the lights to Wi-Fi for remote control quickly and map them using the phone’s camera so I could start customizing. - LEDs respond quickly to inputs and offer excellent control via the phone app. You can turn the lights on/off, set a timer, adjust brightness. Plus, there are a ton of options for custom and pre-arranged motion effects, patterns, and color options down to the individual LED. - The kit includes a variety of plastic clips for mounting the tube. Things to Consider - I like the protection and durability of the flex tube, but it does not retain a shape on its own (it must be clipped or tied down every so often) and it is much thicker than a regular LED strip. - At 6.6ft you might come up short and want to use more than one set, but they can not be daisy chained so you have to find a way to hide 2 wires/controllers. - The controller and power supply are bulky and permanently attached. Meaning that if you have to route the LED tube thru holes or tight gaps you have to start on one side and weave the entire strip thru.

These are awesome! Lights themselves are very good quality! The app on the other hand need some attention! It actually works with Alexa with changing to solid colors but, you cannot access custom settings

Easy to use but requires some creativity to fully utilize its potential. Twinkly provides a few templates to try out. Google "single line drawings" for further inspiration. I made a violin but had to make (3D print) my own mounts to capture the pegs.

PROS - Hanging hardware included - Flexible - Long cords - Great app full of customization options - Can pair with music and make your lights dance with Twinkly Music device (not included) CONS - Not moldable (hardware required) - Difficult to work with OUT OF THE BOX Everything was packaged quite elegantly and you immediately get the sophisticated vibe Twinkly is going for. Minus one hiccup the setup was simple. You need to turn on "location" on your phone for some reason for it to find the device so just a heads up. I really like how it offers the option to use your own wifi or use it's own direct wifi in case you don't want to add yet another device to your router. Twinkly was nice enough to give 4 full size design templates to use to help you hang. At the least, it gives some inspiration for your own ideas if you don't choose one of them. Good luck if you do though, but more on that below. The Flex has an elegant look to it. It's smooth like an old neon light and no bulbs are visible when off. The LED's are very bright and vibrant and look beautiful when lit up no matter if it's day or night. They were very generous with the cord length too which is a big plus. APP The app is where the product really shines (ha). There are a bunch of effects preinstalled or you can download more from the Twinkly store. Since there are some seasonal effects I assume the store will be updated from time to time. Almost every effect can be further customized, too. While that already gives you an array of options, you can also completely create your own effects (based on a few templates) or even by painting all 200 lights. Combine these features with the design mapping tool that scans your design in real time, the possibilities seem endless. There is a lot of fun to be had here. What's also nice is the Twinkly has it's own memory storage so it doesn't take up space on your mobile device. FLAWS As cool as it all is and sounds on paper, it could have been executed a little better. I thought it would be flexible as in it being moldable but its only flexible in terms of holding it in place with the mounting hardware. If it was just a little more pliable it would be significantly more helpful. You essentially have to screw the mounts into the wall which is a shame unless you don't plan to change your design later. I'm not keen on putting that many holes in my wall in case I'd ever want to. I have absolutely no confidence the mounts would work with just 3M strips so that idea is out, too. The light is too tough and continuously tries to unravel so they won't be strong enough to hold. This makes the product which is potentially limitless, also kind of limited. I don't have much faith in the screws they give you to stay in the wall either, unless you get enough of them into studs because of how much resistance the Flex has. Since I didn't want to directly mount the light on my wall I had to get creative. I used the hardware to create a design on a thick piece of cardboard I had. After a lot of finagling I did manage to create a theropod (dinosaur) footprint, or rather, the best I could to make one. The Flex is tough to work with and it took a while just to do what I did (see picture) but I got it done and I'm pretty happy with the result. My thought was I can now hang the whole thing on the wall with some 3M strips. I'll be switching out the cardboard for a similar material or a light piece of wood later for a more elegant look. At the very least I can use the cardboard with the screw holes as a template. I recommend doing this for your own design, especially if you are looking to make it permanent. The product itself is very well made and has amazing features. If you plan on having just one permanent design on your wall than the potential flaws won't be an issue for you. You still need the patience to draw out your own template and get it up on your wall, though. Otherwise, you'll have to get creative like I did. The value for the price starts to dip once you go that route since you have to spend money on some kind of mount (IE board, frame etc...) and possibly hanging hardware. But aside from these issues, there is a LOT of potential with the Twinkly Flex.

At first when I received the tube lights, I thought what a pain to mount them. BUT... they did come with four patterns, and the clips are well thought out for bending the flexible tubing. I chose the "love" pattern and decided to mount it on a board, rather than a wall. The pattern was easy to follow. When I finished and turned on the lights... I was impressed with the colors and how fun they were. Very vibrant. I downloaded the app, chose the colors I wanted in a playlist, and set a timer to come on each morning for 1 1/2 hours. The only negative about the flex lights is that I wish the tubing was a little longer to spell out longer names and/or more complex patterns (I have not searched to see if longer ones are available). Overall - these are very fun for adding to decor or for entertaining!

Flexible, bright and very colorful neon like band it can add a splash of color to anything inside of a house. For now i choose to keep mine on the hallway under a bench but you can use it under your desk for a greater gaming experience or anywhere you may think of. The app is great and very versatile It works good with my Alexa app It’s a great addition to my smart home gadgets!

The Twinkly Smart Light Tube-Flex 200 RGB LED Gen II is a pretty great piece for an entertainment, gaming, or special area in your house. I have heard about the greatness of Twinkly for a while and this is my first personal experience with the company. I could obviously see what I was getting into before purchasing it, but I was impressed when I first opened the box. Inside I found the flexible light tube, the instructions, several templates that you can follow, and then the bracketing/tape pieces to put it up. It was pretty easy to assemble, set up, and adjust for the most part. When they say “flex”, it really lives up to billing. It will take a little bit to get it out its original coil, but after that, it’s good to go. The Twinkly application is simple, but does have a few flaws. One big thing to pay attention to is the frequency of your Wi-Fi. I usually run my phone on the 5 GHz , but I had to shift over to the 2.4 GHz because that’s the only supported frequency for things. After getting through that, it was easy to change the colors, set the timer, or check other options. One thing that I still can’t get to work is the mapping of the lights. I am encountering errors every time I try it and I haven’t found a resolution yet. I’ve updated the firmware, rebooted the phone, disconnected and reconnected the network, but I still can’t get the light to map with the app. It would be nice to check out more of the functionality with that in place. Taking that away, I am actually pleased with the app. It would be nice to take the timer out of 24h format though. Very minor, but still something the developers should consider. Also on the app front, I am working on getting it to pair and work with my Razer Chroma Studio. That one is a little tougher to figure out, but it does work. It will be cool to have it synced with everything at some point. I am in the middle of remodeling my gaming area so I haven’t mounted it on the wall just yet. However, I did play with it and it’s pretty easy to maneuver. You will need to use the brackets to hold it in place. I look forward to figuring out my design and making it happen soon. Until then, I am using it for ambient lighting and fun when the kids use the room. All in all, it’s pretty cool and functional. I can’t wait to have it up permanently and maybe have it as a talking piece for meetings. It will certainly help to create my own “brand”. I will definitely look at Twinkly products more in the future after my maiden experience with the Twinkly Smart Light Tube-Flex 200 RGB LED Gen II.

I’ve had a fascination with colour-changing light strips for quite some time now. These Twinkly flexible tube light strips satisfy that fascination in many ways. This 7 foot long light strip can be shaped into different patterns, a square, a triangle, a circle, or just let your imagination go wild. The device comes very well packaged. The light strip which is a plastic-encased 7-foot long strip includes a controller box and an outlet adaptor that requires you to insert your plug to match worldwide locations where this product will be used. Also included are curved and straight wire holders with 3M peel and stick strips and screws. The box also contains 4 pre-built templates to help you decide your pattern of choice. There is the Christmas tree, the saguaro cactus, a music note ♫ and a pattern that spells “LOVE”. To make use of this led light strip, the app is required. Installing the app requires only seconds, but getting set up took me a bit longer. Bluetooth is required in the initial setup, but you can connect to the controller via direct-wifi or link it to your home wifi for added convenience, which also happens to be the preferred way to connect to your lights. Once you have chosen your pattern and mounted your flex strip light, be it one of the four templated patterns or your custom pattern, you may begin the customization. The app allows you to precisely control the light colour on your pattern is a bit clunky to use as you map the pattern of your flex tube light, but once you get a hang of it, it’s actually easy. The app though is where this really shines and the limitless customization is very entertaining. If you don’t want to use the app, the button on the controller offers 5 different default lighting patterns to choose from. So what could you use this for? Well, it’s good for accent lighting to your home or office. It is good for teenagers who want to add some flair to their room. Add multiple Twinkly Flex Tubes for even more variety. Overall, quite a nifty product. It is not outdoor rated and cannot be daisy-chained (wish it could be daisy-chained) but one just needs to buy more units. It is also a tad bit short as 7 feet of flex tubing is a bit limiting, I would have liked about 10 feet. My biggest gripe with this product is the inflexible flex tubing which makes installation a huge hassle, wish it was easier to thread it through the curves. The printed documentation manual that accompanies the product is rather sorely lacking.

This light strip is very customizable and easy to use. The options on how to set patterns and animations is very unique and creative. You use your camera to show the app how the lights are currently configured and then you can draw colors onto the light strip to dial in exactly the configuration you want. That feature along with the animated patterns make these some of the most customizable light strips I've used. I also like the option to have the lights react to music, a nice touch. I did have a minor issue during setup that once I had the lights set up in the app, they sort of got stuck, and I was unable to do anything with them. However, I followed the manual's instructions on resetting them, and haven't had a problem since. Another great thing about this light strip is the included mounting brackets. These are perfect for creating the exact layout you'd like, whether it's on the wall, or in my case I'm currently using them to add some backlighting to a shelf (which I've added some photos of along with this review). It includes some right-angled brackets as well as straight. There are also some premade templates you could use to make something like a music note, or a Christmas tree. One final thing I've been having some trouble with is getting the lights to work with Google Assistant. My account has been added and synced to Google Home, but after issuing a command, it doesn't seem to be able to control them. Pros: highly customizable, easy to use, great features Cons: minor hiccups during setup, Google assistant control doesn't seem quite right just, double-sided adhesive on clips doesn't seem to want to stay put

Twinkly sure shines with the Flex tube. Definitely not the cheap LED lights you usually see at the typical big box store. I download the app and discover the things you can do with a tube of lights that you probably never thought of before. App setup is very easy. Just follow directions. First the build quality is top notch. The color saturation is vivid and bright. I looked around on Twinkly’s web site and it says the Flex has 200 RGB LEDs but doesn’t mention if it has any white LEDs mixed in with them. To me it looks like it does but I could be wrong. If so, that would explain why you can have a pure white look without a hint of color. All RGB LED lighting devices operate the same way to create different colors by additive mixing of Red, Green and Blue and an equal amount of all three to create white. I can usually see some bleed of color and usually still see the individual colors on the LED chips with most RGB lighting I’ve dealt with. Twinkly is probably using LED chips with 4 LEDs (R G B W) and that’s one of the things that sets it apart and makes it look SO Good! The app lets you use preset patterns or you can download more. You can also make pretty much any pattern or sequence you can imagine if you don’t find anything you like. The app tells you take a photo of the Flex tube’s layout to tell the app how to sequence the LEDs to make the patterns. You can shape it into anything from a Christmas tree to a pretzel or whatever and the app will make the patterns work and look like they should. You can change the speed, colors and brightness on any pattern as well. While you can’t physically daisy chain Flex tubes end-to-end like Christmas lights, the app supports chaining them as if they were connected in that manner. Indoor use only I set the app up on my iPad and also with Alexa. Alexa worked well for turning it off and on, brightness and speed. It’s also compatible with Razer Chroma RGB which is a plus for gamers. Maybe they will also make it compatible with Asus’ Aura gaming RGB lighting. It comes packed coiled up in a black box and the black ink rubbed off onto the Flex rope in a few places. Isopropyl rubbing alcohol easily removed it. The Flex tube has clear plastic mounting hardware included with it and some design templates. The tube is pretty stiff and I wouldn’t recommend doing tight corners or tight U shapes with it. Use of double-sided tape might not be strong enough to hold it. While at Twinkly’s website I discovered they make a lot of LED lighting products for about any use you can think of. Commercial grade lighting too. Plenty of lighting for Christmas decorating and trees. Although not cheap, I would assume it’s all built and works pretty much like the Flex tube. So, I would think that Twinkly is worth the money and would outperform the cheaper alternatives. If you’re a musician, DJ, photographer or anyone in the creative field in need of high-quality controllable lighting this might be what you need. I can’t say how well it would hold up on a tour but for part time use on gigs I think it would do ok. If you set it up and leave it in a single location it’s obviously no problem. I was wanting to use it a gig this weekend around my keyboard set up but the weather got the outdoor gig canceled so no photos that I had waited to take and use for the review. So, I had to get a bit creative on the fly. Draped it across the back of the keys of one of my keyboards. I certainly wouldn’t play it that way but it looked cool. It was to around the edges of my set up. I coiled it up in the bottom a stool for a 3D look. Lots of possibilities! One year warranty and their products work with each other via the app. I highly recommend the Twinkly Flex tube!!!

The Twinkly Smart Light Tube made me a hero with my kids. RBG color LED lights act as a night light for their room. They love the fun designs and decided on the tree. Its a great idea to light up any room in your house. Syncing to my phone was easy and designing the tree was easy as well. Just follow the template on the instruction given.

The concept of the flex lights had a lot of potential, the execution... could have used a little bit more love. I was really excited to get my hands on the flex tubes... although they do flex fairly well, you would need to use the plastic hardware to actually mold them into place. And even then, you'd have to either screw them into your wall or another board in order for it to work. So for renters out there (that includes me), I'd stay away from this product. At 7 feet, there isn't much you can actually do with it either if you're looking to cover a large space. However, the lights work really well and you do have a lot of customization capabilities once you download the app. As far as the packaging, I knocked an extra star seeing how it arrived with a few scuff marks on the wire and dents. Though it doesn't affect the actual function of the tube, receiving a product that seemed to already have been marked before customer use didn't sit too well with me.

The flex is like no other LED string: Instead of the usual LED string that's made to be hidden away, this is flexible light pipe. All the lights blend in just right for form an uniform light output. The LED string is (only) 6.6f (Actually, 2M) and is packed with 200 individually addressable RGBW lights. The controller is attached via a long cable, which attaches to a power socket. The cables are white and not removable. To control it, needs an app for either iOS or Android (I use iOS). The controller uses Wi-Fi with Bluetooth for initial setup. I was at first hesitant to add this to my Wi-Fi since I didn't know what security practices they use. So I did a little bit of research and the company that makes this is an Italian company and have been in business for some years, with a good track record and active user community. Initially had to retry a few times until the Twinkly app could find the lights and then I had to re-enter our Wi-Fi password a few times, but eventually it worked and everything went on smooth after that, and I had no connectivity issues whatsoever once the initial setup. Because it's a light bar, it resembles the old neon lights used on storefront signs, which I think it's the main appeal on this type of design. Besides the light, the packaging includes a series of clips that can use either small screws or 3M adhesive sheets. It also comes with instructions and four different templates. I always wanted a cactus neon light on my home office, so coincidentally this came with a cactus template and so I went with it, but instead of affixing it to a wall, got an MDF (wood) board about 17x24 inches. This is about right for the cactus template. Putting it together took a few minutes and was very simple. I never seen an app like this for smart lights. The coolest feature for me is that the app can learn the exact shape in which the light is placed by using the phone's camera while sending different color patterns to it. This worked really well. Then one can apply a combination of multiple colors or effects that are part of the app or from an online library of light effects, and it's also very easy to create custom effects and patterns. After playing with several effects, it was very simple to just draw the colors and effects in real time to the LED lights, like finger-painting. This is very well accomplished. The lights are not expandable, but multiple controllers can operate in sync, and the pattern detection from the phone can detect multiple controllers at the same time. For this to work, one also has to be signed into the app with username and password (It accepts Sign-In with apple and others). Integrations: - Out of the box it works with Amazon Alexa and Hey Google. - It did not work natively with Apple HomeKit. - There are several integrations on Github, including support for Homebridge, NodeRED and HomeAssistant. I was disappointed that this did not support HomeKit although BestBuy lists it as supported, however the Homebridge module worked great as expected. What the integrations with voice assistants and others do is to turn it on / off, brightness or turn on solid colors. It's mostly for the convenience of turning it on and off. For full functionality, use the app. Also the controller has a push button to change some basic settings. Razer Chroma: I did not use it, but Razer Chroma support is advertised for these lights (light effects while on certain video games on PCs). Overall it's fantastic. My kids liked it so much I installed the app in one of their phones and let them play with it. It's customizable beyond my expectations, and the pattern tracing feature on the app is just spectacular, so the lights sync according to their coordinates (width, length), not just their sequence. The Twinkly Instagram account showcases some interesting designs.

It's an unusual LED strip, it's main purpose is to be made into some sort of "neon tube" form :) You can certainly use it as a regular RGB strip of course, but It's main purpose is to be bent into some kind of a fun shape. Hardware and 4 templates are included with the kit but you are only limited by your imagination. I've used one of the included templates and a project board to make a mockup to see if I like it or not. As soon as your shape is complete - head over to the app and make it glow! App comes with a bunch of pre-programmed effects and ability to download more effects from the Twinkly "store". Setup and remote control is very easy using the app. I think there is also a Python language library that can control Twinkly lights so home automation enthusiasts are covered as well! What I did not like is that LED strip, controller and power brick are all hardwired together, which means if any part is damaged like a power brick - you have to replace the whole set. You can't add more LEDs to the strip nor cut the strip to your liking, all you can change is the shape of it.

Lights randomly turned off one day. Unplugged/plugged back in, defaulted to it's base light scheme and not my custom one, couldn't be found on network. Attempted to reset them by following the reset guide by holding the button and plugging them back in, but that did not work at all - the led on the controller just flashed randomly and the lights never turned red. Lights are completely unresponsive at this point and cannot be reset with the controller. Also want to mention that in the past 6 months, at least a few times they would randomly disconnect from wifi and never reconnect and you would have to delete/set them up again. Very frustrating.

The functionality of the app and the product are without a doubt amazing. The ability to customize the light and pattern is what I truly bought it for and it did not disappoint.

Great lights, but I had to buy 22 dollar double sided 38 lb tape and the use little holders it came with to make a rigged system to make it stick. Its just too heavy for the sticky 3m glue pads they give you. I imagine if you screw in the holders the little holders would work great. (If your material allows it.) The software is a little iffy to navigate, but once you've got the weirdness of it down you can navigate the app easier.

These LED lights are grate for like making designs on your walls TBH. Also maybe the only bad thing is that it’ll take your wifi space on your phone and instead of just turning it on, on the app
