Good sound, stays decently balanced at max volume so there’s no fatigue listing to it for extended sessions. It’s best at maybe 80-85% volume when you need to go loud but not necessarily max. Fits in cup holders, which is nice. Can pair with, or without, the app which is also nice. I might buy a second one when there’s another sale. Loses points for still charging micro-usb.

I bought this speaker on a whim and it was so worth it! It is loud and I typically use it in the shower. I love that it is waterproof so I never worry about it getting any water damage. The only con is the charging port stopped working for a few weeks but it randomly started working again.

Great the first year I had it, but then stoped charging. I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that I just had a defective unit, but luckily I had the geek squad coverage and was able to get me store credit. Loud and nice sound for the size, however I am not a fan of mini usb charging.

The was so easy to set up - I carry it around with me as i work on house projects ...easily "blue tooth" it with my phone. A little bit of a pain to get the charging cable in there but not a big deal.

It really is waterproof. My husband dipped it in the pool to show me. Then I had it fall over into the pool by accident, no problem! I can't always tell when it is on, so the lights to indicate that could be better. It charges fine, but I wish the charging wire that plugs into it was a different shape. I had the same shape of charging wire connection with the Bose we bought before, but that stopped charging because of the charging port. So hopefully that doesn't happen with this one.

great sound, easy to use. would prefer a charging unit you can plug into an outlet instead of just a USB. but overall great product.

Easy set up and a nice sound for a portable speaker. Battery seems to last a long time between charges. I have to knock off a star for older style battery charging connection.

I enjoy listening to music on my Boom3 speaker. Great quality, sound is clear and crisp. Only hardship is when it’s time to charge, the prong is difficult to fit into the charger and I worry about damaging the inlet. But otherwise I’m very satisfied with my purchase

Love the Sound! I would give it 5 stars but my husband has had to return it 3 times because it wasn’t charging. The last time the rep there told him about the little charger he could buy to plug into instead of the speaker itself. So we’ll find out before long if that worked! Stay tuned!

Speaker has great sound which is a plus. Downsides are it doesn’t last as long as it says battery wise and it doesn’t play while charging if it’s “dead” even though it’s clearly plugged....pretty annoying to have to plug it in quickly if I think it might die soon. I think I just expected more from this brand.

I've had this speaker for 4 days I'm ready to take it back. The sound quality is great if you're in an enclosed area, you get in an open area forget about it. The battery, the battery says 15 hours of play time, nope. I'm very disappointed for spending this much on such a poor quality. The charging port is in a great location if you have access to an outlet to always keep it on a charger. But, the door to access the microUSB port will eventually separate the sodering from the port to the board it attaches to on the inside with the amount of pressure it presses down. It does have the option for a wireless charging base if you feel like spending the extra $30, which makes it nice to stay in one place.

Excellent speaker for the deck or pool. Can be linked to another UE device. Very happy with the battery at how long it lasts before recharging is necessary. One negative, the charger port is ridiculously difficult to plug into. No idea why the manufacturer just doesn't make it a 'C' charging port instead of an older 'A' port. Stupidly irritating.

Sounded good until it stopped charging and had it for just a few months

We own a UE Boom 2 so I was curious what improvements UE would make to the Boom 3. The new look is nice with an iridescent mesh scheme all the way around the device instead of only mesh accents. It’s also nice that in addition to being fully waterproof and submersible, the new Boom 3 now floats. Operation is mostly the same with the exception of the new magic button on the top that can be used to start, stop, advance and rewind tracks. Volume is still controlled via the app or the large plus and minus signs on the front. Sound quality is good and the volume gets loud enough to make the Boom 3 ideal for small parties or get-togethers. You can daisy chain speakers together using the block party feature of the app. Like the Boom 2, the Boom 3 isn’t particularly strong with bass, at least to me. The bass is there and music sounds nice but it’s a bit flat, especially if you like bass heavy music. The high and mid frequencies are nice and crisp and sound great. Sound can be adjusted and tweaked via the Boom app. Battery life and charging time are both good. The charging port is now on the side but is still micro-USB. I was a bit disappointed UE didn’t move up to USB-C like most manufacturers are doing. The speaker comes with a micro-USB charging cable but no wall adapter. You can use a micro-USB phone or similar adapter if desired. The improvements are nice but if you own a Boom 2, I’d say hold steady for the next release unless the new ability to float is super important. Even with the new lower price, I can’t see any new features compelling enough to ditch a Boom 2 and upgrade. If you don’t own a Boom speaker already, the new features and lower price make this absolutely worth it. Just make sure to have realistic expectations if you’re a bass head.

This product worked great! My son loved it and the sound was great too. However, after 4 and a half months, the speaker won't charge. It is plugged in and there is no indication of it being charged. The speaker won't turn on either. Rather disappointing.

I received a similar potable speaker as a gift a few years ago and liked it very much. It died recently and I tried to find another one just like it. No longer available. I bought this speaker to replace it. I like it but there are two differences compared to the previous one; the sound is not as robust and there is no charge feature for my IPod. However, I enjoy having it. I use it almost everyday.

Speaker would not charge, even after trying multiple charging cables. I found many negative reviews about this exact issue on several websites when trying to troubleshoot the charging issue. I also emailed Ultimate Ears support about the issue with no response back from them. Instructions that were included are vague and not helpful. Also there is no USB charger included with the speaker, only a USB cable. Don't waste your time or money with this product.

Liked the 360 degree sound. Charging port was defective out of the box. Since they do sell their own proprietary dock, I sort of think the charging port defect might be purposeful. Purchased for $80.
