Wow! This portable speaker is amazing fully waterproof,sound is great blew everybody on my party you could jam all day long battery easy set up with Bluetooth an one more thing everybody can connect to it also you could pair another magaboom if you have one for a extreme sound we used it as of sorround sound for our Apple TV with Bluetooth cannot said no more awesome portable speaker don’t hesitate to get its great.

Bought dec 2023, to use around the water because, its waterproof daa! I usually research anything i buy for months before doing so, this was no exception. Very happy with the sound and durability thus far. The only thing i would say is it is a lot bigger than it looks in the bestbuy pictures. Yes it does give a measurement but its in metric and who converts that in the USA…… Come on BB this isnt europe. Ive included pictures to give it some scale for those looking to buy this speaker. Sonos roam 6 1/2”, Mega B3 8 3/4” and a qt. DD extra extra also recommended 9 1/2”. Lov it and would recommend this speaker. Mark S.

Excellent product from UE. Priced bit high but provides excellent build quality and Feels premium as well. Maintains good sound clarity and crisp at low and high volume. Waterproof makes it excellent outdoor speakers. Highly recommended for people who are looking for portable excellent sound quality outdoor speakers.

First of all, it’s just beautiful, and feels SO good to the touch. Second, it sounds AMAZING!!! I bought this when I lost my Bose Revolve+ while I was camping. The base isn’t as deep, but the sound quality is better and more clear. And it costs less, and is waterproof.

Purchased this because I really needed a portable waterproof speaker for the pool and beach. This is definitely a good speaker for that purpose. However the price tag they put on this would make you think it's in the same class as a comparable Bose, JBL, Sony, Sonos...etc... unfortunately it's not. The speaker will get loud but it's doesn't have the same full rich sound as those others mentioned and the low end is non existent at lower volumes. Luckily I got this on sale and had a gift card, so I didnt pay anywhere near the $200 price tag...if I had I would strongly consider replacing it with another speaker from one of the brands above. The biggest pluses, good app integration, waterproof, well built and 360 degree sound.

I now have 4 high end BT speakers in the $200-$300 range, they all have strengths and weaknesses. The Mega Boom 3 is the lightest of the bunch at just about 3 lbs, nearly half the weight of any of the others, which weigh in between 6-11 lbs. Then battery life, the Megaboom 3 claims 20h, this is probably true if it's running at 25% volume, as you crank it up it will decrease battery life. 20h in a 3lbs package is truly impressive, my only other speaker that has 20h weights almost 9lbs. The megaboom3 comes with a pretty good size power brick (see picture) USB to micro USB connector. The back of the speaker has a rubber door to hide and protect the micro USB connector. With the USB door closed the speaker is IP67 waterproof (submersible) not just water resistant - wow; probably the best choice for your fishing boat, or paddle board. I'm not aware of any other speaker this size that is Waterproof. The speaker can also be charged with a (sold separately) charging pad (~$40 "PowerUp"). Given the size of the included power brick this might be a nice to have, but I didn't test with it. The speaker also has a nice woven loop towards the top so you can attach it to something. Volume; this speaker can get quite loud, easily my first or second loudest speaker, easily filling a 25'x18' room, maybe uncomfortably. But it really excels outdoors. The 360 degree sound, sounds better to me outdoors than inside. The Speaker includes an app to control it via Bluetooth, from a LONG range, I tested to over 100' no issues. The app also includes a 5 band graphic equalizer, which I found very helpful. The app can pair to with up to 150 UE Boom/Megaboom speakers, could be a lot of fun at a big beach party. Speaking of party the app also has a DJ function that allows you and 2 other friends to connect to the speaker(s) at the same time - pretty nice for a party. The app has a few pre-programed EQ curves, which I didn't find particularly useful/accurate -so they could improve these. SPeaking of improve the speaker's firmware can be updated from the app, so "things could change". The app can import play list from iTunes and Deezer, but no where else (for now). It can also show you your iTunes library/cover art - kind of nice, and it can control the volume from the app. This speaker does not have any fancy lights, only 2 led's on the top, to let you know it's on and to let you know it's in pairing mode (no problems pairing with my iPhone or my wifes andriod phone). The speaker does not have a RCA mini jack (my only speaker without this) so your going to use it with BT. Sound quality... not first or second of what I compared it to. The mids and vocals are not as brilliant or well pronounced as some similar BT speakers, The highs sound like other UE speakers, due to the 360 degree sound the highs are supposed to be reflected in all directions, but this, in my mind is only partially effective. The depth of the bass when cranked up, certainly over powers the mid-range. Used indoor this is particularity noticeable, moving it outdoors really improves the speakers sound. I'm not saying this speaker sounds bad, it's just not as crisp as I'd hoped to hear. When used at lower volumes, like in a dorm room the sound is pleasant but the highs won't impress you. I did some side by side listening with the first Boston album, it was punchy but not airy, I missed the preciseness of their strings throughout. Bringing the speaker outdoors, and moving away from it, it had a better balance. So like I said there are some compromises, this is not the best sounding speaker, but its not bad, and has many other features that may wow you. I missed the RCA connector but was impressed by the app, weight and battery life. It's far more portable than what I compared it to, so depending where and how you might want to use it, it may be a nice fit.

This is my second “Boom”. I have already used a BOOM2 for a while now and really like it. I have never used the “Party Up” feature before and was really excited to try it out. So this review will cover the MEGABOOM3, the Power Up charging dock and the Ultimate Ears app to control the two devices for Party Up. MEGABOOM3 –Do you know this is waterproof (IP67)? This paired to my phone effortlessly (Android Oreo). The sound quality is better than my BOOM2. The bass is significantly stronger. And although it is larger (see pictures) it is not too big in my opinion. Using the volume controls on the speaker work perfectly. Of course you can also use the app to control the volume. These speakers are durable and are perfect for use outdoors. I think they also sound better outdoors compared to indoors. The sound quality is on the bassy side as expected. Many will find this appealing. I found it was a little too much and this took away from the mids and highs. You can also play this very loud. The Bluetooth connection is strong and I kept a connection to the speaker up to about 100 feet away. Using the APP – In the Playstore (sorry do not know about the Apple experience), you will see a MEGABOOM app. DO NOT USE THIS ONE. It will not work. There is and Ultimate Ears BOOM and MEGABOOM app that works perfectly. You can control the volume, use different EQ settings (including a custom one you can configure) and PARTY UP. There is also a DJ feature that I did not use. PARTY UP – As I now had two UE speakers I was really excited to try this out. Once I had the correct app, I was off to try this new feature. I found when I paired my BOOM2 first and then added the MEGABOOM3; I was successful most of the time. If I paired the MEGABOOM3 first and then the BOOM2, I was often unsuccessful. A little frustrating at first. But once I figured it out, this was not an issue. Using the BOOM2 and MEGABOOM3 at the same time was a perfect balance. I could place the speakers apart from each other and fill a large size room very well. Even better when you are outside around the fire. They say you can connect 150 plus UE speakers. I know two works perfectly. I cannot imagine what 150 connected speakers would sound like. Power Up charging station – honestly, charging my Boom 2 was an inconvenience as I needed to plug it in and turn it upside down to charge it as the plug is on the bottom (the MEGABOOM3 plugs into the back near the bottom). The Power up comes with the charging base, AC adapter and charging D-Ring (for BLAST and MEGABLAST). This charging dock can be used for: BOOM3, MEGABOOM3, BLAST and MEGABLAST. You use the charging cable and AC adapter from your speaker. It works very well. I love the convenience of just placing it on the dock to charge! I wish it worked with my BOOM2. Final thoughts – the UE MEGABOOM3 is mega-bass. Overall the sound quality is good and loud. The sound quality is good and most will be happy. The features set it apart and make it a pick over many others - you can pair it with other UE speakers; it is waterproof; and you can connect it with up to 150 other UE speakers. My BOOM2 has been abused multiple times (dropped, left in the rain, etc.) and keeps on working. I recommend this to those looking for a Bluetooth speaker.

The UE Megaboom 3 is the latest version of the Megaboom Bluetooth speaker from Ultimate Ears with a flatter top panel and dual-tone fabric. The speaker comes in two colors at Best Buy Black and Blue. The speaker itself is Big, but will fit in your backpack and is light enough to carry around easily. It’s now IP67 rated, which means it’s dust proof and waterproof in up to three feet of water for 30 minutes, it also floats. This means you can put it in the pool while still playing music! The charging port has been repositioned, so you can charge the Megaboom 3 upright. You can dock it on the optional wireless Power Up charging stand which you purchase separately. A full charge will give you up to 20 hours on medium volume, louder and that will decrease. I really like the “Magic Button” - You can play and pause songs with a single tap, skip tracks with a double tap, and, with a long press, select a playlist. You use the Ultimate Ears app to set up multiple playlists, and you can also skip through them with more long presses. For iOS, you can import playlists from Apple Music or Deezer if you use Android. Other features such as PartyUp (link up to 150 Megabooms or Booms) and Stereo (Two Megaboom 3’s) can also be controlled through the free app. Its Bluetooth range is much better than previous UE speakers (specs say 45m) This speaker sounds great loud without over modulating. The Megaboom 3 has an enhanced passive radiator to give deeper bass with a better lower mid-range giving it a fatter sound. It can easily fill up a large room. If you want a great sounding waterproof speaker with fun additional features and a great look you will love this one.

Purchased the speaker because it’s waterproof and I had a trip to the river planned. Speaker volume isn’t the greatest but maybe the 360 sound made it sound better? Content up until I purchased a second to sync the two to play in the office. The speakers turn into a receiver for the first you connect through Bluetooth but the second speaker, the “receiver” can’t be more than 20 ft from the first. Definitely would expect this from a speaker that costs $169+. I wish I would have went with BOSE.

UE has really done an excellent job on this Megaboom 3 speaker! Once you have it, it will simply be your default portable speaker because of it's clear sound, sleek design, and extreme durability. PROS: - It really has a modern sophisticated look. It is very simple and has that silo design that makes it easy for flat surfaces, cup holders, and there is even a loop to throw a carabiner through so you can hang it. - The size is also ideal. I included a picture of it next to a pop can for reference so it is larger but that is good for the extra sound. However, it is not too large where you can't carry it with one hand easily and throw it in your bag to bring with. - The sound clarity blew me away! I thought I had a nice portable speaker before but this simple is better in its volume output, clarity, and the 360 degree speakers makes it fill a room much better than others. The bass is also solid but nothing wall shaking which you'd expect. - I think it's a must have for the speaker to be fully waterproof, able to float, and as durable as it is. It gives that ease of mind that you can take it outside wherever or by the lake/pool and not worry about it getting ruined. - It has very simple controls! Buttons for bluetooth pairing, play/pause/skip song, power, and volume. It's also nice because if you tap the Volume Up/Down buttons at the same time, the speaker tells you the battery percentage. CONS: - The biggest downside to me is the lack of USB-C charging. UE stuck with the Micro-USB charging because it doesn't think the market is ready for USB C but that's really surprising. The last Megaboom was released 3 years ago and the market is already filled with USB-C devices. In terms of future proofing, I just think they really missed the curve on this in terms of charging and ease of use with other devices. - Although I like the design, there is nothing special about it. It works best being set vertically, doesn't have anything that makes it truly unique. This is fine for me but other's might want more. - At the time of this review, the Megaboom App was not updated for this device to be used. That being said, the extra features or buttons on this are lacking slightly. No party style lights, aux cord jack, and although it has a strap - they did not include a carabiner inside for it to be used with. I think the simple features of this are easier and less complicated but it's nothing over the top for those who want it.

This is the 3rd Logitech speaker I have used and ranks among the best of them. First, as always, sound quality is at the forefront of my mind and should be for anyone considering purchasing this model. As with all Megaboom models, it gets LOUD. Despite it's medium-ish size compared to other popular models, the sound can get plenty loud and cover a large area indoors or outdoors. The sound quality itself is very good, but I did slightly prefer other Logitech models like the Megablast. Other key features include the extensive battery life, listed at 20 hours. I've used mine for about 8 so far without needing to recharge. 20 hours will last you an entire weekend in most circumstances so it's nice not having to worry about having a place to plug in. Did I mention this thing is waterproof? I'm normally scared to take any electronics near water, but this speaker can not only float, but can also be submerged for up to 30 minutes. That's pretty cool and should make for excellent pool parties. This model has an optional charging station that you purchase if you would like to use it around the house and then just grab and go when you need to take it elsewhere. I imagine the charging time will be much better with the dock so consider that if you will be using the speaker frequently. My favorite feature of this model is the "magic" button. It's easy to locate on the top and can quickly be used to play/pause and skip songs with double presses. Also, if you want to fine tune your audio experience, the partner app allows you to use an equalizer to tweak to your favorite bass/mid/treble levels. At this price range it will be difficult for you to find a better all-around speaker with the features that this one has. My four star rating is only because I've had better audio quality at loud levels with other Logitech speakers in the past, but by no means is the audio quality poor.

Was looking for a Bluetooth speaker to use out on my pier during the summer. However when you have 2 kids, their friends and a dog all running around I was concerned about the speaker getting knocked into the river. Many Bluetooth speakers are Water Proof ( or at least water resistant) but the UE MEGABOOM 3 is on of the few that float. So no if t takes the plunge, I send the offender in after it :-) Battery Life is long enough that you will either be a waterlogged raisin or sun burned before it dies, so long enough for my use. Volume is good, bass is sufficient for normal (background level) music use, and 360 sound makes placement less critical while still offering good coverage. For the Price its a solid buy.

Beats the jbl system, I'm using it right now. Sounds great, plenty loud, use it in the shower, literally, it's completely waterproof. It even floats, but 200 is steep. I would say 150 max but i paid 99$ and i wouldn't see getting rid of it anytime soon. Great battery life as well, only needing a charge every 2 days or so and i use it all day, workouts, drives, studying, shower, cleaning. It's a great well built speaker and the 360 sound really will blow your mind.

I have not really had any portable speakers in the past that are worth mentioning, so getting this was a big upgrade for me. Before I purchased this speaker it was pretty much just me listening to things through my phone speakers. Which worked for me fine for a while but I enjoy music and have people over for get-togethers. So having a speaker for being able to take outside and be able to hear was important to me. This speaker is surprising to me with the amount of sound it puts out. The sound quality is very good. I also like how you can tweak the sound settings through the app, it is a cool feature to have. As far as this speaker is waterproof, I haven't tested that part out yet. I do use it outside frequently so it is nice to not have to worry about potentially getting water on it. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a portable speaker in this price range. I looked at some other speakers but was impressed by the battery life on this one. It is pretty true to the battery life shown on the specs.
