It a good speaker without a doubt, but unfortunately it was not exactly what I expected. It was suppose to sound very loud and it didn't. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the expectation for it's size. I've heard louder from smaller, I feel like I paid a little too much for it. Smh

The UE Boom 2 definitely has my heart, this didn’t perform to expectations. For any Apple Music users I would as surely recommend purchasing a speaker within an aux cord to avoid Dolby atmos sounds. Battery life is definitely over stated - 100% charge lasts just a few hours. The chances I got a bit defected speaker are there, I was extremely excited to make this purchase - quite disappointed I don’t take it upon myself to use anymore. Would definitely enjoy a refund.

If you are only planning to use one of Megaboom speakers the sound quality is pretty good. BUT if you plan to connect them with other Megaboom 3 speakers DON'T WASTE your time or money on these!! If the speakers are more than 6 inches from each other the second speaker will begin to crack, pause and basically fall out of sync with the other. If you try looking for support you will be told it's either a poor internet connection on your streaming device or due to interference coming from pretty much any other electrical device near you. Very disappointed with these for $200.

I bought two of these as a gift - with the intent of using them as a stereo pair. Pairing of the first one to an iphone was ok (could be better). Configuring the 2nd one as a stereo pair was a little involved - and needed the Megaboom app - and not really intuitive at all. The stereo pairing is forgotten if the speaker turns off and you have to configure it from the app again. Basically it was a real pain to use it in stereo mode so I returned one of them, and just kept one. It sounds good enough for the purpose but there are additional glitches. 1. If there is a microwave close by. It completely kills the sound from the speaker. 2. I tried pairing it with a Macbook and a Surface Pro but the connection was spotty in both cases. So, imo, it was released way before it was ready for the World!

hello, I bought this item to be used while on beach, it really underperforms with the waves and wind noises. Then when I crank the volume the life is only 4 hours. I would buy a more powerful speaker, I thought this one would suffice considering the $220 price tag and now I am beyond return date. :( If you offer me a store credit I will upgrade to a larger unit. Thank you

I researched high-quality speakers, and this WAS supposed to be one of the top, but its out dated charging port, and low volume that will be blown out by too much bass isn't really worth it. Save your money and look for another brand.

I am giving this speaker a 2 star rating because I spent a half hour comparing the sound between this and my boom 2 speaker which is half the size. The volume was almost identical, I actually think the boom 2 was louder than the megaboom which was shocking. The megaboom had a bit better bass, but nothing worth the upgrade at all. The features are better, but for just pure performance it is nowhere near being worth buying the speaker if you already have one of the regukar boom speakers.

This was meant to replace another speaker that was on its way out from how much I used it, but I wouldn’t pay full price or even the sale price for it. Sound quality is lacking and is constantly scratchy at any volume. It doesn’t like to be turned up too loud so forget about max volume. There’s no way too plug in the charger one handed and be careful with edges since it’s quite easy to knock it over.

      Hello Tommy,
Thank you for choosing Ultimate Ears and for taking the time to write this review. If you have not already done so, please download the "Boom" app for Firmware updates, sound adjustments, user guides and further support. I am sorry that you have not been pleased with your speaker. I hope you will enjoy your Megaboom3 after installing the "Boom" app, checking adjustments and updates, also please check the audio quality of the music apps that you are using. If your data plan permits, please select the highest audio quality (many apps are not at highest quality by default). Further assistance is available through the Boom app.

I read many positive reviews regarding these speakers so I decided to go with them because I liked how waterproof and though they are. After using these for a couple of weeks I noticed right away and ongoing that there is consistent skipping in the playback. I did some reading about turning off the voice over function to solve this issue but it did not work. Another issue was big volume control delay via Bluetooth. Positives are the ability to pair speakers for stereo sound, waterproof and drop resistant as well as the 360 degree sound. I just can’t look past the lagging volume control and consistent dropping of sound on playback. I will be returning these.

So purchased this speaker thinking it was better quality, on top liked the ability to turn on from app. Unfortunately it was a disappointment because the bluetooth kept on having static. Returned it and got a JBL for much less money and better quality sound.

Hi JD, Very sorry to hear about the battery issue that you're having with your Megaboom 3. It is highly unusual that you're only getting 4.5 hours of battery life. It sounds like you may need to update the firmware which can be facilitated by downloading the Boom app---available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The Boom app opens up a host of other enhancements including powering your speaker on/off with your device, customizing EQ settings, multiple pairing, and alarm. Here's more about the app:  https://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/features/apps.html. Also, I've included the link to the product page for the Megaboom 3 which will walk you through some other features and also give you access to more customer support:  https://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/wireless-speakers/megaboom-3.html. Hope that you found this helpful and that all is going better. Thank you for choosing Ultimate Ears. - Richard from Ultimate Ears/Logitech

Mega boom 3...down to about 80hz. Still not a full range, hi-def speaker. Believe the first gen Megaboom sounds better overall. It’s a no go for me at $199. Have $60 speakers that sound better.

Way overpriced. Doesn’t do the basic functions a Bluetooth speaker should do, esp one like this. Phone cannot be more than a few feet away or the sounds starts breaking up. Battery life is more like 10-12 hours not the 20 it says. Doesn’t show up in the battery widget for apple like my cheap speakers do, and this one is sold on apples website. Both manufacturer and apple each said it was each other fault this didn’t work (I chatted with both of them). No Spotify integration in the app. The “magic” button is a single button that doesn’t respond well to presses. Hard to get it to press once without feeling the need to hit it again and causing problems. Just put on a skip and back button. Also the volume buttons are just tone button at the center of the decal not the full icon on the side. Disappointing.the one good thing is that it does seem to be quite good with being water proof. But that is more of a bonus than a real feature for a speaker. Sounds reliability is much more important. Would return if I could. Would not recommend at this price point. My five year old anker $20 is comparable to sounds reliability. Just get a cheap speaker that will be just as good.

Honestly the girl that told me about it hyped me up to get it for my boyfriend and I wanted to get him something nice bc he works in construction and I wanted something that “last long” and sounds good but it’s terrible. The battery dies fast and now it doesn’t even charge. It hasn’t even been 6 months. The sound was the only thing that was decent. It’s embarrassing to say I got it.

      Hello Drax,
I am sorry that the Megaboom 3 is not working as expected. This battery deficiency may be caused by bad charging due to an inappropriate charging adapter. Hello Mark,
Thank you for taking the time to review the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3. I am sorry that you are not happy with the sound quality and design. If you have not already done so, I recommend downloading the Ultimate Ears “Boom” app for firmware updates and equalizer adjustments. I recommend using this app to adjust the sound settings to your preferences. Please also check the sound settings on the connected device, as well as the settings for the apps that you are using. Most music apps have quality adjustments (the default for music streaming apps is typically not at the highest quality. The reason for this is to conserve data. I recommend using the highest quality option if your data usage permits). Further assistance is available through the Boom app.
