I thought the price was a but too good to be true, but I thought that a refurbished item bought through Best Buy would at least be getting some form of QA. First, immediately after opening this, I was struck by the fact that it didn't look refurbished. It looked used... quite heavily. The wear to the rubber around the power button gave that away. As soon as I turned it on, I did a battery level check, which is an audible, spoken notification. It didn't sound right. Nothing like my other Megaboom. The sound was thin and much lower in volume. After pairing with my phone, the issue became obvious. The speaker within is either damaged or blown. It distorts heavily and basically sounds nothing like my other Megaboom, which I bought new. Oh well. Now I need to search around the BB site to figure out how to get my money back. I sure wish that process was as easy here as it is on Amazon. Why no option in my order history to just exchange/return?

The product was OK but came defective. When asked Best Buy to replace the store try to charge me lot more than the deal I got so I was forced to accept a simple refund and end up without my speaker. Disappointed of Best Buy

Do NOT buy this item refurbished. I pushed it and was sent a UE with a blown speaker. In addition, this device also has issues with the battery/charging. You are much better off buying this product brand new. Best Buy will not do anything to fix this and UE doesn't offer a warranty on refurbished products.

My wife already had a Bose Soundlink Mini 2. I bought the Mega Boom for myself on the Deal of the Day. After hearing it, my wife decided she would keep the UE Mega Boom and I could have her Bose. The Mega Boom is much louder with a deeper bass. It also has almost 3 times the range as the Bose and it's waterproof. Considering purchasing another one to take advantage its multiple speaker pairing feature.

At first I was pretty skeptical about buying refurbished speakers, especially due to the fact that this refurbished Megaboom was barely listed, so it had no reviews. I received the speaker today, and it is pretty much like new. These are one of the best portable speakers I have ever used. One of the best at the original $300 price mark, and the absolute best at this refurbished price. Great sound, very sturdy, and gets very loud as well.

The speaker lasts over 5 days of use at 1-2 hours each day. Very impressive battery life and the sound is pure and emersive. At $150 it's a fantastic deal considering that you can pair with other UE Megaboom and Boom speakers to create a ~ Sonos household sound experience. At $300 the options and alternatives open up considerably, not sure if if I'd pay more than $200....

Refurbished megaboom does not have a scratch on it, looks brand new. Sounds great. Charger and cable are great.

Despite their claim of a 2 year warranty, UE will not support warranties on refurbished products. It seems these things are extremely unreliable and die often, for a $300 speaker, this is unacceptable. Mine arrived blown out and sounds awful - I contacted UE for replacement and after a few weeks of back and forth their reply was: We regret to inform you that after carefully reviewing the information provided; we have to decline the replacement of your product since it is refurbished We apologize for the inconvenience. At this time, there aren't any exceptions to be made. We appreciate your business and thank you for your patience during this process. This is my second Megaboom Purchase, I was hoping for a bit of change with the updates but so far nothing has changed, the speaker at full volume distorts a lot and there is so much compression going on that if you have a bass heavy song you would miss halve of the song. This speaker is made for R&B or hip hop songs, If you listen something else make sure not to max the Volume. None the less the best thing this speaker has is the App although the equalizer is none functional the turn on/off feature and volume up/down is a plus for my since there is not need to touch the speaker something that no other BT speaker in the market offers.
