I had the wonder boom 2 and liked it so much, I bought this item to stuff in my wife’s stocking. She brings it to work every day, charges it for about an hour in the office, then takes it on her route that takes 3 hours to run and it fits in a backpack, which is a plus. I have found the r best sound, and overwhelmingly loudest, you can get out of these is to download a FLAC file from hdtracks.com, send the files to Doppler which will organize and show media and has an iPhone app, then play in the shower cuz the hoe is waterproof.

Ive had the model before the boom3 and it lasted me 4 years. I can only imagine that i will get the same from this model. I love that they added the Bass Boost to model. Light weight and great sounding for the price. It dowant get much better than that for portable/quality sound.

Has great sound and can withstand high heat because it was left in the car a lot (sorry lil guy). The battery is amazing and also has a outdoor mode so it gets louder we have him inside to have as background noise.

Great speaker for in my car and dorm room. Chunky little guy doesn't fit in my cupholder like I hoped, but he's got good sound and is easy to set up and use. The battery life lasts me a work shift, drive, or a study session just fine, and it comes with its own charging cable.

I was looking for a new speaker for the pool that I work at. I have bought other brands before and I thought I would give the Wonderboom 3 a try, I liked the fact that it had a 14hr battery life while others had only 10 or 12hrs. It has been a few weeks and it has performed great so far, good rich sound quality and easy to pair with phones.

Verdict: When I received the Wonderboom 3, I was disappointed with the small size and I expected to also be disappointed with the sound. I was so wrong! This little speaker performs quite well for its size and price. This speaker actually hits all the right notes for us: small, powerful, rugged, and well-priced. Initial impressions. It is small. It looks rugged with the rubber ends, rubberized buttons, sealable charging port, and hard mesh. The giant “+” and “-” are a cool design touch. The small blue and gray lanyard looks good while also adding functionality for holding or for clipping the speaker to a bag. Setup. The setup is standard: turn-on the speaker, locate the speaker in your device’s Bluetooth settings, select the speaker, and it works! Sound. The sound is remarkably powerful for the size of the speaker. The mids and highs are quite good: clear and crip. The lows are ok; I would say sufficient for most types of music, and not sufficiently lacking to make an issue of it. At 50% volume, the speaker fills a small to medium room nicely. For a large room or outdoor, we use the speaker at 80% to 90%. Even at max volume, the sound was good. The sound emanates evenly from around the whole speaker (360-degree sound) so it does better when it is placed in the center of a room or a table. Buttons. There are three buttons on the top side of the speaker: one for Bluetooth connection (upper button), one to play/pause/skip (center button), and one to power on/off (lower button). On the bottom side of the speaker, there is one button to toggle on/off the “outdoor” mode. This mode boosts volume and clarity to better suit open outdoor spaces. However, the lack of base becomes more apparent with this mode… we did not like it, and don’t plan to use it. When this mode is on, the “outdoor” button will be lit up. Things I like: - Compact form factor but plenty of power - Rugged design so you can take it everywhere; the rubber and mesh protect the speaker while also looking good - IP67 rating! It can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes! It can also withstand falls, and… it floats!! - I couldn’t test this but it can be paired with another Wonderboom 3 to double the sound, or use as true stereo. We may actually pick up a second one of these to use them in tandem. This is really nice feature! - Long battery life (14 hours) and great range (130 feet) so you don’t have to keep your phone right next to it - The small lanyard adds functionality; the speaker can be clipped to a backpack for example Things I don’t like: - The buttons do not have any identifying function markers on them. While I know what each button does, family members and friends can’t tell what buttons to press to turn the speaker on, connect Bluetooth, or play/pause/skip. It would be better if the speaker permanently showed what was on the removable sticker (when the speaker came out of the box - see photos). - The charging connector is Micro-USB. The new standard for electronic devices is USB-C. I have only a few (older) devices with Micro-USB. It would be great if new devices finally adopted USB-C so that we could carry only one standard cable for all electronics. - For the next generation of Wonderboom speakers, I also recommend including a plug adapter and adding a smart speaker function. Overall, this is a really nice little speaker, with ample power and ruggedness, and at a fantastic price point. Despite the Micro-USB connector choice, this is the speaker we now pack on outings and vacations. I would rate this speaker a 4.5 (rounding up to 5 stars).

UE's latest WonderBoom includes all of the same features of the previous generation and adds additional battery life. The UE WonderBoom 3 comes with a built in non-datachable band, a Micro USB cable for charging, and the speaker itself. The UE WonderBoom 3 is built to stand the elements of your small party or gathering where you are willing to take it. Having an IP67 rating, it is able to withstand dust, water splashes, being submerged in water up to a little over 3 feet (1 meter), and even floats on water. Being made of hard plastic around its edges and a nylon type material surrounding the internal speakers, it can also withstand drops from 5ft (although I dont recommend you do so). On top of that, UE rates the battery lasting for 14 hours. Being a small and compact speaker, it fits in the palm of my hand and packs a decent amount of audio in such a small package. I was surprised at how loud it was for it's size and can see how it is perfect for small parties at a park, cookout, or around a pool. () Compared to other smaller speakers I've owned and used in the past, the WonderBoom 3 produces audio from 360 degrees and wherever it is left, you will be able to hear the audio from all sides of it. On the bottom of the speaker there is a button to enable an Outdoor Boost mode. From my experience, this makes it sound like the audio was given a small boost and vocals in music sound slightly clearer. Another neat feature is the ability to add a second WonderBoom 3 and play audio from both, simultaneously. While this speaker is relatively loud for its size, I found the audio quality lacking in some aspects. Mids and highs were a tinge on the tinny side and slightly muffled. Lows were decent and more pronounced as compared to the higher frequencies. If you were looking to adjust the EQ levels, you would have to do it from the device you're playing audio from, as the WonderBoom doesn't offer any EQ adjustment settings. While audio lacks the details mentioned above, altogether the audio sounds good and is what you would expect from a small speaker. Additional hardware downsides I found include no aux support and the fact it still uses Micro USB versus the new USB C standard. Overall, I enjoyed using the WonderBoom 3 and recommend it to anyone looking for a compact speaker that can get loud and also can withstand the outdoor elements.

For something that is a bit bigger than a softball, this thing puts out some sound. Compact enough to take with you just about anywhere and waterproof to boot. From just listening around the house to the beach, this thing can handle it and keep up with the amount of time you may be out there with 14 hours of battery life, depending on usage. I even tested out its claim of floating and even trying to sink it, it comes right back up. You might have to shake some water out of it to get the sound back to normal. But, it never stopped playing. Connect it just like any other Bluetooth device and off you go. The built in elastic band seems pretty tough to handle most hooks or even a handlebar on a bike, but it doesn’t stretch far enough to get around more than the end, so you may want a carabiner or something to clip to bigger areas. The environment button on the bottom makes a huge difference in sound, dropping bass for more highs. However, outside that makes it travel further and you really don’t notice unless you are up close to it. The volume buttons can’t be missed, but for as big as they are, they adjust the volume pretty slowly, which is fine for small adjustments, but when you want to turn the volume down quick, best to use the connected device itself. Overall, I am really shocked at how loud, clear and rugged this Wonderboom 3 is. It will be going many places with me.

The Wonderboom 3 is an excellent compact, go anywhere Bluetooth speaker. With light weight and handy size it is easy to tote around the yard or on a trip to the beach. Is it a powerhouse for rocking that rave or house party? Probably not, but it is quite nice with a few friends or just for yourself around the house or yard. Very similar in overall look and feel to the previous gen model, the Wonderboom 3 has some small improvements to the build that seem like they were thought out rather than changes for the sake of changes. For example, the previous generation Wonderboom had a simple loop of cord to hang the speaker from something like a carabiner or a small hook/nail. The new model has a piece over the cord material to provide reinforcement and I can see how it would prevent the loop from becoming easily frayed, especially if you frequently put the speaker on and off a hanger. Another nice change was the size and feel of the physical buttons, which are much more prominent and have a more natural push to them. The fabric wrap around the body of the speaker is a little more raised and tactile, and I personally found this made holding the speaker in one hand easier is it was less likely to slip. In terms of sound, I found it quite acceptable for such a small package. With the volume cranked up to max on my phone and the speaker it was capable of putting out an impressive amount of sound without distortion. I’m and no bass fanatic and prefer a good balance of lows and highs, but I personally thought that at very high volume the high end overwhelmed the bass a little bit, making the overall sound a bit thinner. At lower volumes, where I will almost always be using the speaker, the bass was enough to balance the sound just fine and the overall tone was much warmer. Clarity was never a problem at any volume. Sound projects fairly well around the speaker, but I would not go so far as to call it a true 360 degree projection. The sound seems to primarily emanate from the “back” of the speaker, the side opposite the plus/minus control buttons. This isn’t really too noticeable unless you are at a pretty low level and close to the speaker, but it will influence where I would place it in relation to other objects or structures. As of now I just have the one Wonderboom 3, but I am considering picking up a second that I can pair with the one I do have. When using two of these you can create a stereo pair rather than just linking multiple speakers playing both channels. Not always necessary, but still nice when you want it. Connecting the speaker to my phone was a snap, and operation is extremely simple. There is a nice little quick start guide included with the speaker and it covers all the basics of operation quite well. It would have been a plus if this speaker cam with a USB-C or fast charge option, but it comes with just a small micro USB, and it felt like it did take a while to reach full charge out of box. That said, battery life seems to be excellent, and I have been using it on and off for days and it still has significant life. I tend to run it at what I would say is about 50% volume so mileage may vary at higher or lower settings. This sucker FLOATS! To test the claim that this speaker is safe to use around or even in the water I went ahead and dropped it in the pool while playing. 30 minutes later it was still playing just fine. No water made it past the charging port cover, but a lot seemed to get trapped by the porous fabric cover. I would be concerned about the amount of water the cover seemed to hold causing damage if the speaker gets repeatedly or consistently wet. Still, if you place it on the edge of the pool to play music and someone knocks it in, it won’t be ruined as long as the charging port cover is secured in place. I rate this speaker as 5 stars in its category as protected from the elements and highly portable for music on the go.

360 degrees of great sound. Sound does come out of I from all the way around the unit. The tweeter is located only in 1 spot. This little speaker cranks out high volume for a small speaker. Setup was a snap. It paired with my phone without a hitch. Sound is nice. Nice deep base and good highs for a small speaker.. Size is good compact. Super simple operation. On off. Loud button. Pair button. Color is nice. Black and simple design. Charging was easy. Uses micro USB. I wished it was USBc. Hours of operation for battery life is good. It lasted all work day for me. 10 hours and still good. And Did not die. The fact that it is water proof and it FLOATS..... Great to take out in the ocean on a stand up paddle and not be scared to drop in the ocean. I do wish that the little holder was a little bit bigger or had a D ring or something that was a little bit longer to be able to latch on to a water sport device or something. For these reasons I would recommend this product.

I was quite surprised at the size of this unit when I got it, it's much smaller than you might expect at about the size of a 4in cube! That said, the sound it puts out does not disappoint. Controls are a bit confusing as the single top button can supposedly be used to play, pause, fast-forward, and rewind the source; however I only ever got it to play/pause so I was probably using it wrong. It paired easily to both my PC and my Phone and played music without issue. "Hidden" on the bottom of the unit is "outdoor mode" which, frankly, simply cranks the treble of the music. It does get a *bit* louder but not by much. The thing that impressed me the most was its waterproofness! I actually tested this out as I wanted to see if it hurt the sound at all. Remarkably, the designers thought this through and the unit is weighted in such a way that the speaker faces out of the water when it's floating - brilliant!. The weight of the unit is great, it has great battery life and is easy to charge with any existing micro USB connection - I wish they'd have chosen USB-C here but no real big deal as it comes with its own cable.

Be a fan... that's what I am going to say. I've had Bluetooth speakers since I think speakers started featuring Bluetooth and I am always searching for the right one for the right scenario. I have the Wonderboom 2, so it was an easy decision to also have the Wonderboom 3 join the family. ESPECIALLY since you can pair the two by linking them (imagine surround sound but outside at a family gathering or watching a movie while camping and creating speaker system to wow your friends). Wonderboom 3 doesn't disappoint with it's very long lasting battery life, charging could take a bit longer, and boy do I wish they would upgrade the charging port to USB-C. Anyhow, it isn't a big issue and after a full-charge you have hours and hours of music, or sound. The features the word boom and boy does it have bass for such a small speaker. I often use the Wonderboom for traveling. I have been to so many hotels and no matter how comfortable the bed sheets, or accommodations, the walls still seem pretty thin. I love playing white noise sounds to sleep and Wonderboom fills the rooms I stay in with the perfect pitch and sound that I need. I wish there was a way to record and allow you to hear what I hear because I am very pleased with my Wonderboom. I love their family of products and dream about the day I get to upgrade for the larger speaker in the their line of speakers. This is also an ideal speaker for the college student dorm-life or apartment life. It's easy to manage, very durable, and water proof. I have taken my Wonderboom on tubing trips on the river and I use a carabiner to secure it to my tube. By the end of the first hour I have a group of people near or around my group because the music coming from the Wonderboom is that crisp and full of sound. No matter the genre, the movie type, or sound... you'll be pleasantly satisfied with the Wonderboom 3. Oh and give that outdoor boost a try, I love waiting a bit to turn that feature on to get people talking, or to stop talking if they are too loud I tap the button and the sound becomes even fuller. Oh and I’m glad this one was built using recycled material, lots of companies are doing this and it feels good.

I bought this mainly I could listen to podcasts and news from my phone while working in the garage without needing earbuds. From that standpoint it works great, since the volume is much higher than my phone. It's base-y, good for music but actually makes some voices a hair garbled sounding sometimes. It's ok for music. It seems to have good sound quality to my untrained ear. You're just limited that all the music is emanating from the same location. It does float as advertised. Battery life is good. Overall it's exactly what I was looking for.

I really like the long lasting battery life. I've been playing this speaker here and there for the past week and the battery still going. The loud bass and clear speakers are the best I've heard within this price range. The minimal and small speaker is great for any occasion. I took it in my small backpack and it didn't took a whole lot of space.

Great overall sound. Definitely LOUD with plenty of punch in bass for what it is up to like 80% volume then starts to clip off afterwards(at least with my unit). I use this speaker at work and it’s been taking the beatings pretty well and lasts pretty much my whole day at work. I have not tested it’s battery life but it’s definitely playing for a little over 6 hours. I should’ve gotten the pair since it would’ve been AWESOME to have this as a “surround sound” while working on big projects bit it handles pretty well on its own. It’s normally attached on my climbing harness and it gets banged around quite a lot. It’s the second unit that I have. The other one lasted about a little over two years and it failed only because the retention spring on the carabiner that was attached to the speaker failed and it slipped out and fell about 350ft. The speaker still works but it’s shell broke lol. I still have it in my room as a decorative piece.
