BEWARE DOESN'T WORK NO SUPPORT DON'T RELEASE MY NU

Much like their name their service is unreal. And I'm talking both network service and customer service.
This is not a real carrier but a voice over IP.
I have a master's degree in computer science and I still didn't find their set up to be easy. So if you think of getting their SIM card to your mom then forget about it altogether...
After I was finally able to set up their service real problems started.
Half of the times I'm trying to make a phone call it doesn't go through. Tells me there's a problem with the number. I tried calling a different number the same problem. So no the problem is not with the standard 10 digit numbers I'm trying to dial. It's with unreal mobile network.
And vice versa people who try to reach me tell me they get weird error messages like my number is not connected.
Their customer service? Unreal...
Dial their phone support in the specified hours. Says they're closed.
Try dialing a bit earlier. Getting a half hour lecture on how I can do everything from their website. The only option where you actually have a chance to get a person on the line is if you choose activation. But even then most of the times you just choose activation and they hang up on you. Automatically. Not even a tiny efforts to transfer you to someone or put you on hold. You just press 1 for activation agent and the call pretty much ends there.
You have to also send messages through their app. The app is so sophisticated that it can only send one picture at a time. oh and if you're getting pictures from your friends and wants to delete them to save space? You can only delete the entire conversation with the person. Not a single message or single picture
So I gave up and wanted to switch to another carrier. Bought a SIM card. Activated it and provided all the required Port out information.
The deadline I get is 3 days ago. And guess what? Unreal mobile website reports status as business as usual. Like they didn't even received a request. of course u want to call their customer service and ask for help but trying to do that a few times, they just hang up and hung up and hang up.
So please do yourself a favor and avoid this this company at all cost. I wouldn't even use their services for free, unless it's for a hotspot (internet works well because it's not theirs it's AT&t...
My new carrier can't even reach them they don't respond to tickets there is absolutely no way to reach them. Their activation line doesn't answer their sales representative said they cant help and transferred me back to the automatic system.
My number is held hostage and I have to pay double now.
I wouldn't even recommend this to my enemies

Cheap plan but poor network

19.99 USD for 3 month is very cheap for unlimited minutes, sms and 1gb data. But there is a catch- you can not use your phone's calling app. You have to download their app which makes phone calls only when you have internet connection. NO CALLS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE INTERNET. If you are home and connected to wifi you can make calls but if you are hiking, there most likely you wont be able to call if you are lost. Overall, it is a very good deal if you have access to wifi all the times.

The Service Is Good But The Setup Process Is Bad

The service is through AT&T and the data speeds are good and there is always a strong signal but the problem is the setup process is terrible and Unreal Mobile makes you run all your text messages through their app. You can’t use Google messages you have to use the Unreal messaging app. All in all it’s a budget service and it works.

Cannot use basic phone functions (i.e. call&text)

This product does not contain a regular SIM card. From the outside, it seems as though this is a good product and at a great price. However, this is not a regular service plan. You can NOT use the calling or texting app build into your phone with this service. You must download their app and use their single app for both calling and texting. While they have the ability to sync contacts, all notifications will only display the phone number and not to whom the phone number has been saved. Since this does not use the native functions of your phone, you MUST have the internet to call or text. It also uses data to call thereby draining data to have a conversation. If calling while walking or moving the connect is sporadic as it is constantly trying to connect. The calling quality is below sub-par, there is a disturbance and high pitched noise when calling. When texting it does not sync with previous conversations, so prior sent messages will not be displayed. When calling the functionality of the phone is limited you cannot call and text simultaneously. Do not buy this product if you want to use the normal functions of the phone. After calling their customer service, I learned that if you want to use the native features such as the calling and texting apps built it you must buy a premium service and a different SIM card. This service is truly 'unreal', they are charging customers for an internet service that is below any basic standard for phone service. If you want to have a decent conversation-forget it! The unreal mobile calling&texting app often drops a call or is unable to connect in the middle of a conversation. The texting sections often take much longer to send or receive texts. The packaging and product description is deceptive. I would not recommend it; if possible I would give this product negative stars.

Cheap plans. But support too slow. I had issue with incoming call and LTE signal. But no help from Unreal yet for 4 days. Need help soon since SIM card with no receiving call and no LTE signal is garbage

I got this to try out the LTE built into my Surface Pro X. Popped the SIM in and registered it, changed some APN settings and I was up and running.
Speed is adequate for surfing and working. Can’t comment on phone calls since I’m not using it in a phone.
One note: their website is really amateurish looking and difficult to navigate.

The cheap sim card includes the months of plan. But TBH, that's what's worth it. Nine out of ten times I cannot make a phone call. I've never been able to receive any phone calls either. The customer service would let you sync the app but it does not solve the problem.

This is the perfect simple low cost 4G phone service for my kid. If you have a good 4G connection in your area, on AT&T network, this could work for you as well. Just download the app to an old unlocked phone, insert the SIM, and register it with unrealmobile and boom... you have a functional phone and no overage charges. Also works with my audi q5 sim slot for my car's hotspot since it's on the at&t network, as required by audi.

Had a few hiccups setting up the APN for this but I think it was the service just taking it's time to validate my account. Tracked my data use and had to delete an offending app but after that everything has been fine. I don't use it for phone or text, just data. This was the old sim that runs off Freedom Pops APN, btw. At $4.50 / month this was a deal

This is VoIP phone number. Basically, you get a virtual number, NOT a real one. This number can NOT be use for Viber, etc where a phone number is required. We have a problem seting up, call them, no answer. I them sent email to support for help, and waited 5 days. We decided to contact them again, and finally resolved the issue. Originally, I want to move my family over to them, but not anymore.

Unlimited mins and txt that u can’t use because your phone is newer than 10yrs I didn’t even know the 2g network is still around. Basically it’s a WiFi call/text app except u pay rather than it b free. Not worth the setup let alone the price

The price is good. Internet is fast, but the calls are through VoIP, the calls depend on network. Use google voice is better.
