Very smart TV.....even better as a pc monitor for me.. Just finished building my latest Semi gaming PC a few weeks ago, So I was looking to upgrade my monitor to a 4k display...my old monitor is a Samsung with a 1980 x 1200, it was impressive years ago before 4k resolution came about, but now, not so much...my first choice was the Sony 49 inch F series.. it is on sale for about 1K, and the second choice was the Samsung 49 inch QLED 6FN series which is on sale for 700 dollars.. but then I came across this E43-F1 Visio model and I studied the specs and I was impressed...but the 2 things that sold me were the "full array dimming and 120 Hz refresh rate, which you can only get on other big brands like LGs, Sony etc when you get to the 55 inches and up..and spend more than 3x, so I went to my nearest Best Buy store and pick one up and lucky me it was the last one in their inventory that day, set it up and the picture quality stands out... now I look at my raw photo files and I could not believe how sharp they look... so there it is I am really satisfied... Oh and added bonus the Visio free tv channels and movies are excellent ... I cut my cable months ago and now I am using an indoor antenna but with the built in free channels I can watch albeit delay games and sports talk...and some live games too, so even though this is a primary pc monitor I found myself switching to the streaming section a lot... so consider me impressed ...if there a knock for this tv, it would be legs, they are a little bit too low and somewhat flimsy and I would prefer the center support as opposed to the separate feet, I did change it with a pivoting universal tv stand, and it is now perfect, I have enclosed a photo, I would highly recommend it ..for the price I doubt that you can find one equal to the features of this model.

Was looking at monitors for productivity and gaming and found this monitor based on online recommendations. Didn't need a crazy refresh rate so 60hz 4k was good enough for me. Can have multiple windows open even at 125% scaling and contrary to the reviews, this monitor is bright enough for me (most of the time I have it set to half brightness or less to save energy). Game mode is great and the local dimming and blacks are also superb. Hope it lasts as long as my QNIX2710 which I upgraded from. That lasted me for almost 5 years and is still working.

Visio is an excellent brand; I bought an open box but did not inspect it; just took the salesperson's word that it had been inspected and was in tip-top shape. When I opened it at home, I saw a scratch on the glass screen. It is irritating to see when the tv is off. However, when the tv is on, it is not noticeable at all. The scratch can be seen on the right hand side...a jagged vertical line just to the left of the shadow of the entertainment shelf. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO POST THIS REVIEW AS I AM TOTALLY HAPPY WITH MOST OF MY DEALINGS WITH BEST BUY...THIS IS JUST FOR BEST BUY'S INFO.

My household is just breaking into the 4k world. We came across this TV on sale, and after many reviews of similar products we just couldn't pass it up. Here's my experience so far, pros and cons included throughout. Unboxing was super easy. Thanks to the incredibly lightweight design, there was no need to cut the box open as the unit easily slid right out the top. Next was assembly. The two included leg stands slid freely upwards into the base and secure with two screws each. Here found a slight issue, as the screws would not tighten correctly. They do still hold the legs in place, they are just not tight and it makes it feel like an unsteady and loose fit. Don't fret though, once the TV is on a flat surface it's stable enough to not worry about the screws coming out, and even if they did, the legs have long enough connectors that they work regardless. Setup was also quick, there are simple prompts to follow using the user-friendly remote. You'll be asked to connect to WiFi to enable the free smartcast service and access to other streaming apps. Optionally you could connect directly with an Ethernet cable instead. There are typical updates and then you're good to go. As you move through menus there are brief tips and tricks that pop up to help you customize your unit. They were all helpful, and appeared in a paced manner and only when applicable-you won't be endlessly bombarded by tutorials. We immediately connected a PS4 and tried to get into 4k viewing. It was not a clear process to any beginner, but a quick Google search and use of the TV's digital manual (conveniently located in the settings menu or through the smartcast app) we figured it out. An unfortunate realization was that the companion app is practically required for proper use of the TV. Some picture options, including enabling HDR on game consoles, is only accessible through the app on a phone, tablet, or other compatible wireless device. A minor inconvenience at most, but it was frustrating that the TV's settings we but completely available using just the TV itself. A bonus though is through the app you can easily control the TV entirely, and searching for things is much more fluid. Now the juicy bit. The picture. WOW. Just wow. Once 4k was in action on the ps4, I couldn't imagine how I thought it looked nice before. Admittedly it took some time to hone in the custom picture settings, but it was worth the time. Games felt immediately more immersive, and new visual subtleties appeared in even the most familiar game worlds. The preset picture settings are adequate if you don't want to mess around with it, plus each mode offers a toggle switch for gaming mode, which helps avoid any delay between inputting a game command and seeing it happen on screen. I highly recommend gaming mode be set on for even casual gamers, thought the delay was not too noticable with it off. Let's talk sound. The stock speakers are more than enough for an average living room setting. Standard customizations are available, and without blasting the speakers you can generate a full, powerful sound. If you're picky about your sound, chances are you have a sound bar or something already, which is easily compatible with this TV. Again, the companion app for the TV makes setup a breeze for any external sound system. Remote. Clean and efficient. There are bonus quick-load buttons for common apps like Netflix, and they are customizable. Sure, if you change for example the Vudu app button on the remote, it will still have Vudu printed on it, but any app can be assigned to it. I would have preferred simple colored buttons instead of branded ones, but at least they can be customized nonetheless. There are also power, input, and volume buttons directly on the TV as well along the right screen edge, tucked away behind it. I could go on for pages about the features and customization of this TV. You can even connect a Google account to use with the built in Chromecast service, or cast your portable devices' screen into your TV to use it like a giant monitor. Google play games on your Chromebook- welcome to the big screen. Overall I highly recommend this TV. It's user-friendly and more then worth the price, with outstanding picture quality and suitable audio. If you're debating on a similar size TV of a different brand, stop here. The search is over. -SirMerchant

This tv is made in China. The Chinese routinely use cheap parts to build electronics with a failure rate of 1/100. I purchased this cheap tv for an exercise room. It worked great for two days then would no longer connect to my WiFi. After 45 minutes of their customer service tech yelling at me and rushing my every move they concluded what I already know. The tv is defective. The resolution? I let them put a credit card hold on me while they send out a new tv, that or have them send out a repair person to fix the one I have. Now I will have to remove it from the wall, switch the two out and package and send the defective tv back. No apology. Nothing but a hassle for me and a full week without the product I paid for.

    Great Entry Level 4K TV

Choosing the right 4K TV is alot of pressure when you don't own any and unfamiliar with the different terms used in the descriptions. After doing a week of research, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. My first piece of advice is that whatever TV you decide to purchase, make sure that is has HDR. This TV delivers in that the fact that it contains 2 different modes of HDR. The default found on most TVs is HDR10. It produces great colors and can be utilized through devices such as the Xbox One S, FireTV, and any other device or app that supports UltraHD content. The best part is that this product also contains Dolby Vision which is next level HDR and an important feature to have so that your TV is future proof. Currently, Dolby Vision is only found through Netflix, VUDU, Amazon Prime, and certain purchases on the Apple 4K TV. Support is minimal now, but I guarantee you that purchasing a TV containing this version of HDR is important maintain satisfaction with this TV (or any tv for that matter) for years to come. This TV also contains local dimming zones which is also important for a 4K tv to have as well. Cheaper brands such as TCL, Hisense, Westinghouse, and others typically don't have this. The more zones a tv has then the better. There are only 10 local dimming zones on this TV, but at least Vizio provided some. Sound is great and the picture quality is amazing (especially in the Vivid preset).

As a Sony fan I decided to give another brand a try for a TV I wanted to install in my exercise room. I purchased this particular Vizio model for two reasons 1) it has a built-in ATSC TV tuner - something Vizio seem to skimp on in other models and 2) a VA panel that produces a vibrant picture with very good contrast. In a side-by-side comparison in the brightly lit store with the equivalent LG 43UJ6300 (my runner up) which has an IPS LCD panel, the picture from this TV was just better - especially when viewed off center. I prefer LCD TV's with active full array back lighting which this unit has but the LG does not. Fast motion on the Vizio also appeared more natural than the competition. Sound is clear but not that great from the downward firing speakers. Then again most LCD TV's lack great sound however there is no lack of I/O options for video and audio on this TV. Finally the remote control needs work. Tiny flush buttons are difficult to push. Unfortunately it would seem you can't examine remote controls in Best Buy stores before making a purchase. Maybe they tend to get feet and walk away... Overall you will not be disappointed with this TV and, if paired with a faster streaming device such as a Roku Ultra unit, you can achieve the best of both worlds - a great picture in a faster, smarter streaming package.

I had been watch various 43 inch tv's since july, reading what information i could find and many places say the Visio had the best picture (not necessarily the HDR) even over The samsung 6900 and 7100 series. With older Samsung tvs i had multiple problems using calibration programs. The Visio has more inputs then the Samsung 6900 and about the same as 7100. Visio has some smart apps (all i needed and has built in chromecast) but they aren't as many as samsung but adding a Amazon fire tv solves that. It supports Amazon Echo and Google home, which i had to find info to setup but once i did it works great. The remote feels a little cheaper than some i had but its functional and works, there are 6 quick start buttons for Vudu, NetFlix, Amazon, Xumo, Crackle and Iheart radio. I ran hardwired ethernet (it does support wireless) and it's connect to an OTA antenna. I also plugged in a Amazon FireTV 4k stick because in some spec online i found Visio was not in the supported list to receive Amazon Prime 4k with HDR, just 4k. Picture looks great in 4k, in lower resolutions it looks fine, i could not see any issues even though i found a few reviews that complained about it. The only issue i had was trying to use my Chrome Browser in windows 10 trying to cast to the Vizio, it sees it but when it connect i get a blank screen. I've also ran a hdmi cable from my windows 10 computer with no issues.

Got my first E43-F1 as a replacement for my E43u-D2 that was un repairable. Hooked up DirecTV, Amazon FireTV and blu-ray home theater system to it. Same equipment that was on the E43u-d2, and worked perfectly. This time, things didn't go so well. Got video and audio on DirecTV, but no audio with the others. Swapped out HDMI ports with no luck. Once in awhile I got audio working on FireTV. But when I changed program, audio dropped. No luck with Blu-ray. Returned tv and ordered replacement. Got replacement and hooked it up. Same issue. But after some switching some audio settings back and forth, got audio working on FireTV. Strange part is that the current settings are the same as when I first set it up. Waiting to see if Blu-ray audio kicks in on it's own. Not a big issue since audio is supplied by separate speakers. They also dropped 1 HDMI port and installed OTA tuner. 4th HDMI input would be very nice to have. Ability to have USB port supply constant power is nice for supplying power to FireTV and saving an outlet. Overall, for the price, it's a rather decent tv. Built in Chromecast and 4k HDR on All HDMI inputs is also a step up from the 2017 model.

Did a lot of research before this purchase of this outstanding 2018 E-series Vizio TV. This tv was rated the best for the $ and I can see why. Picture quality is outstanding. Vibrant colors and very deep blacks. Just be aware this is a VA panel so if you're viewing off center the picture quality degrades. (IPS Panels are better is this regard so I've read.) Not an issue w/me as I put little felt pads under the stand legs and rotate the tv for a better viewing angle. (I really wish this had a rotating center stand as my old LG 43" TV had.) Sound from internal spks is OK but nothing special. (I use my int. amp and Paradigm spks. for sound duties.) One really great feature of this TV is that it has Analog Out RCA jacks .3 HDMI inputs as well. Remote is easy to use and was very easy to set up the tv for first time use. Overall, this TV is excellent except for the viewing angle. Very highly recommended. Thank-you BB for having this in stock.

Vizio TVs get a lot of bad reputation I think due to their questionable quality control and Smartcast app, but I think one thing that is unquestionable is that the pricing and actual picture quality of their panels is really good compared to competitors! This particular model is definitely part of their older series, budget series and it falls in line with the specs you'd expect from a model like that but if you curb your expectations, you're going to get an awesome value Bedroom TV. The picture quality and HDR brightness is absolutely sufficient for bedroom, casual usage, and it has all of the modern connections you'd probably need from it. The build quality is proven I'd say as I've been using it for about 2 years now and it's still going strong. The one downside I will say is that the Smartcast app is definitely the worst I've used in a smart TV app. It can crash or lose connection or just be all around slow. Use a streaming device and you can probably circumvent what is probably this TV's only weakness for the price. I bought this for around $329 in 2018 and found that to be a great deal, so it's probably an even greater deal for less.

I love the image my new 4K set has. Watching Netflix titles in 4k is as good as it gets. I'm not overly impressed with the Apps that came with my new Vizio. Quite simply, there are not enough of them. I'm used to ROKU and I think ROKU sets a high bar and has many apps that Chromcast does not have. I did not buy this set so I could stream my favorite apps from my phone and in the few short weeks I've had the set the YouTube app would not open even after software updates. Don't know what's going on there. I have another set with ROKU built in so I got a little spoiled by it. So I ended up buying a ROKU Ultra for this tv. This has been a really good match. I am delighted with the tv and like it even more with ROKU.

I needed a replacement TV for my bedroom. Because I didn't want to put it on the wall, my choices were limited by size. I really wanted a Samsung but the smaller Samsung's did not have the ability to use the 5g wifi. This one can use either. This is a big deal when considering others in the home will be streaming/gaming at the same time. Initially, I was disappointed in the TV. The picture wasn't as good as I had seen previously (my brother has the larger 65 or 70 inch in his living room). Once I upgraded my cable box to HD, however, the issue resolved. I'm very happy with the picture, the number of connections, etc. I've had this TV for a couple of months now and haven't had any issues with it. Setup was relatively easy (I had an old TV, so there was a learning curve). This is a good TV, especially at this price point. Would recommend and buy again.

Purchased this to replace an outdated Sony we were using in the home office and am very pleased with it so far. When I went into the Leesburg, VA Best Buy they associate listened to what I was looking for and pretty much said for my budget and what I was looking to do with the monitor, the E series Vizio was the best choice and I believe he was right. The color (after I found the right setting) and brightness are good (not as good as my 55" Sony in the living room but I wasn't expecting it to or needing it to be). I'm considering purchasing another to use as my desk monitor for my 4K laptop (I'm testing it through HDMI right now writing this review and it looks at least as good as the Dell 34" widescreen I will be returning, if not better). Can't go wrong with this one, especially for the price. Now if only I could find a 50" to put on the wall and use the 43" I have now as my monitor...

Great picture with no backlight bleed and very acceptable viewing angles for a set this size, thanks to a VA panel. Can do 4k + 60hz + HDR + 4:4:4 simultaneously over any of the 3 hdmi ports. Acceptable input lag for casual gaming and overall a great display to use as a PC monitor. For 400 or less this is the best 40 class UHD HDR TV.

I chose it for its ability to be controlled by Amazon echo dot and google home. Back then i hadnt decided which one i wanted but i knew i wanted to have that voice control. I chose Alexa and i can turn it on and off. This model has FireTV capabilities i have yet to explore. Works excellently for playing with game consoles. My only complain would be that sometimes the Smartcast menu doesn’t pop up or takes long to load. But by far, my favorite part is that i can seamlessly use the integrated chromecast to watch videos from my phone or ipad on TV. No need for cable with this bad boy and subscription to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. 100% recommend.

Recently bought this TV to replace the older Visio I had in my bedroom (the older Visio ended in my guest bedroom ;-D). My older Visio didn't support HDR only 4k. I have to say the color palette is much better. It is compatible with Dolby Vision which is said to be the best HDR format. The image quality is very good, although it is not going to compare to higher end LG OLED or Samsung QLED models in picture quality it sure has a bright color saturated image. The price is the bug factor with this TV. You get very good value for what you are paying for. Highly recommended as a secondary TV!
