Great 4K for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd Vizio TV. The first one was a 42" 720p. The picture at the time was excellent. The reliability was great as well. I just purchased the 50" 4K Vizio for our Master Bedroom to replace a 50" 720p LG which will go to my office where a great picture isn't necessary. The 4K picture is amazing! Even with non 4k shows & movies. I highly recommend Vizio for both its quality and value!

Great image & features- but this tech is concerned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first 4k and also Smart TV. Up until this purchase, I've had a bevy of devices connected to my dumb TV. I'm a tech guy by trade and I'm all about that, and the features this TV offered. The refresh rate is.. relaxing and comfortable on my eyes. It's a weird, hard to describe difference, but I attribute the lack of strain while watching TV to the refresh & resolution of this TV. Oddly, it's starting to change my dreams, but it feels good! I like the built in android device (chromecast, etc), and that the TV has both ethernet & wifi. I was able to plug in an old xbox with component cables (thus freeing up an HDMI port), as well as hook up (SPDF) my already existing surround sound system without effort. The power usage is great, though I do have it in full-off mode instead of standby (standby allows you to turn it on by casting a video to it). The TV also doesn't make much heat. The price, size & features were what sold me on this product. That, and I desperately needed to upgrade from my 1000BTU, 20 year old plasma TV. However, I have gripes: 1. Smart TV's gather a LOT of your data, and do weird things with it. Seriously, they figure out what devices are coming from your home internet and link them together for advertising and selling to others, and that's like, basic level scary. it doesn't even get into them working with other advertisers to build profiles about you, recording you through a microphone, or basic TV monitoring stuff. Read the TOS of your smart TV during setup - don't just hit NEXT, OK, NEXT, OK -- in fact, you can decline some of the services they're offering. Please look at these menus critically and know that you don't have to have them track you to be able to cast to your phone. 2. Some of the invasive monitoring services you can't decline - and have to be turned off in the settings. The kicker, it's not where you'd expect the option to be, it's hidden, nested in a "reset to factory" menu. This kind of behavior, to me, signifies a companies attitude toward their consumers. 3. The sound from the built-in speakers is bad. I think it's 2x5w speakers. You'll likely want an alternative sound source, especially since you're getting a Ultra-HD TV. The company makes a sound bar which compliments & interacts with the TV, but take that in consideration with the above. Also, the TV worked without any issue at all with a SPDF connection, which many non-portable devices seem to have. 4. Only one of the HDMI ports displays on this model is True 4K @120hz, as well as the casting feature. The HDMI ports are 4k but 60hz (computer shows 59.90) 5. My PC says that it can stream 8K to it, but apparently I don't have a device which can provide useful 8K to the TV to confirm whether it's down sampling. The computer's desktop is tinier, if that's helpful. 6. Not all of the adjustments options are clearly labeled - I've noticed (my friends haven't...) that the TV seems to shift in brightness as the content of what it's displaying changes. I've gone through the settings and can't seem to find this option. 7. They push the smart phone app, which I haven't tried. But I have a feeling it's the key to more features. I also think they're using it as incentive to join their creepy surveillance / people-sales program (smart TV terms of service). I'm happy enough being able to use the 'google cast' feature, which is seemingly, literally, everywhere nowadays.

Not bad for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is not bad for the price. 4k product for this price is wow. But... be careful with the smartcast if you are not good with technology, is a little complicated and not like a real tv, here you will not find anything in your remote control everything is on the phone app which sometimes is not convenient. Usb port is there for for updates you can not use it to play media :-/ and 4k quality is not impressive. Is just a good product for the price you pay.

TV Was Damaged (Screen) Prior to Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got home and opened up the box, took the TV out and set it up. When I first turned the TV on the picture and content on the screen was barely readable. It's obvious this TV was damaged prior to me purchasing it and I am extremely frustrated with the fact that Vizio and/or Best Buy wouldn't have a way of preventing this from happening. I don't know what caused the damage to the TV or when it occurred, but Best Buy should have preventative measures in place to avoid situations like this. I am now tasked with having to return everything to the store. I may decide to purchase a TV elsewhere after I return this TV to Best Buy, as I'm now concerned with them mishandling products in the store.

Great TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this TV in 2018. We got it via open box on a slight discount. It arrived quickly and was easy to set up. It's now 2024 and we are just looking to replace it for upgrade purposes. We kept the unit clean and upgraded the software as needed. We never had any major issues with the unit whether it was on Wi-Fi or direct with ethernet. The TV has lasted quite a long time and will now be used as the gaming TV for our kids instead of the primary TV in the living room. Very happy with the purchase and how long it has lasted compared to other people I know that are buying a new TV every year and a half because they break down.

Good "Basic" TV for Seniors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 50-inch Visio (E50-E3) is a great TV for seniors on a limited budget. It’s hard to beat its $399 price. I found it easy to connect this TV to my DISH satellite TV system; a cable/ WiFi system works just as well. The picture quality and color is excellent. CAUTION: You will need to buy a tuner and antenna for free over-the-air reception. An auto-SETUP narrative appears on the screen when you power up this TV for the first time. Seniors can skip the complex WiFi setup by pressing the “arrow-Enter” button on the TV’s remote (center of circle). NOTE: This system is designed primarily for the “NOW generation” who will connect this TV to their smart phone or tablet. If you skip the complex WiFi setup process, you wind up with a “Model-T” remote controller; that is, a remote that lacks a numeric keypad to select channels. Instead, there is a “+ or –“ button to change channels. But this is OK for me, because I use the numeric keypad on my DISH remote to select desired channels. Aside from the missing keypad, the TV’s remote controller works very well. It has buttons to easily adjust color, sound, aspect ratio, input, as well as a mute, power, and channel UP/DOWN button. My only disappointment is an annoying amount of “pixel flutter” when I watch football games. This only occurs when the camera switches to distant aerial and fans-in-the-stands views. Since I don’t see this occurring in store displays, I suspect the cause is a data-delay in my DISH satellite feed. No pixel-flutter occurs for close-up shots of field activities, players, refs, etc. BOTTOM LINE: “You get what you pay for”. If you want a large-screen full-feature TV with a better remote controller, buy a more expensive brand/model. As a basic no-frills TV, this one is great for normal TV shows and news, as well as DVD or streaming movies.

Must use a second device for streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the picture quality and it was very easy to set up, the only problem with this TV is that you need to have the Vizio App on a second device to cast to the tv to stream netflix and other streaming services. There are no pre-installed apps or any way to install apps for simple viewing. All streaming is through casting and you need the app on your mobile or tablet.. I misunderstood it to be a smart tv, The remote that came with this tv it is a dumb remote with volume and picture buttons only. You can bypass the casting if you have cable, but for the best results and a quality picture, you must use the casting feature, it gets stuck sometimes in the middle of streaming as it is through the wifi and Vizio App. I liked my other Vizio Smart Tvs that had the apps already installed and with a remote that only needed a push of a button. Thanks for reading.

Fantastic 50" 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this 50" tv to replace a 32" 1080 RCA in our bedroom. The RCA still works great but it was getting hard to see well due to the distance between the bed and TV. We would highly recommend this TV. Purchased for $399 at BB online and picked up 1 hour later. Setup is fast and simple. Download the Vizio SmartCast App to your phone, click the menu and go down to "add a new device". The app walks you through step by step and connects to your wifi. From there it's easy to watch Netflix, YouTube, etc. Find it on your phone and cast to the TV. A few findings that make the experience better: choose Quick Start (your tv is on in 5 seconds) and Vivid (colors and motion are great). We've been watching bowl games and action movies, and the screen looks great. No motion issues, screen shows vibrant colors and dark blacks. My only recommendation is to pick up a sound bar. Speakers work well but we have become use to enhanced sound on our Vizio 60" (M70-C3) with a LG sound bar and 10" subwoofer. I think we will get the Bose Solo 5. Net, great 4K TV for $400!

Good deal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good deal on an open box TV. I was looking for a 4K TV for my Xbox one. Pick this one up for $350. The tag said everything was still there and it was in great condition. The TV was in great condition however it was missing the legs to stand the TV on. The Manager at my local Best Buy and Forsyth Illinois was quick to remedy this. The picture is great and as always Best Buy had a great price. I'm not a fan of having to download the remote on your tablet or smart phone but I only use this for the Xbox and maybe some movies so it really doesn't affect it

Best buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this on sale and is very good for the price! - Perfect for my 1 bedroom apartment - The TV's remote is not very functionally useful, but the cable TV remote can be used. Else download and install the Smart TV App to control Chromecast apps via phone / tablet. - Has built in Chromecast apps. - Picture quality is good. - WiFi is needed to setup the TV. - Media can be casted via Laptop also (Google Chrome extension - SmartCast needed)

Price point and Features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so happy to stumble upon this Unit, I was hunting for their Toshiba 49 inch promo at $199 only but sadly it is only available to some states with minimum stocks of 5 I think. I bought this Unit and at first, it cost $399 and there was another tag price beside it says $349 I asked the BestBuy guy to verify the unit and was surprised that the unit cost $349 (Black Friday). I did not hesitate to buy this unit plus the fact that the features I need were all there. 1. Chromecast Builtin 2. Effective Refresh rate of 120 (this is important for me especially you have 4k resolution. 3. Backed up by Vizio App. (Controls, Settings and Streaming via Chromecast) I don't need a smart TV since I have Apple TV though I won't be able to maximize since my Apple TV supports 1080P only, well I don't care since most of the content were 1080P only if there is 4K content but very few for now. The picture is good and blacks were acceptable since they have the dynamic backlighting. You can still calibrate picture quality using the Vizio App. Bought Vizio 2.1 Soundbar at target with great price as well at $129 since the sound of the TV unit does not sooth my taste. Now I am enjoying my new TV in my Room and no need to worry on the brightness since this includes auto backlighting depending on the room light I have. So for the price and feature, I don't need to confuse or create a dilemma getting this unit since I have all the features needed and don't need the smart TV function if you have the chrome cast built in
