I would rate this TV at 5 stars hands down except for an HDMI input issue where it doesn't recognize our Tivo sporadically on HDMI 2. I wanted to be sure it wasn't the Tivo so switched it out with my Roku and the same thing happened. Message across the screen stating NO SIGNAL - TIVO, etc. So I have to unplug the HDMI cord which is new and rated properly, plug it back in and then the Tivo gets recognized. We never turn the Tivo off so I know there is definitely a signal going to input 2. It's just doesn't always show a signal being found. I imagine I should get in touch with someone about this but because it's sporadic not sure they can help with it? Other than that minor inconvenience this TV is FANTASTIC! I have owned many Sony TV's, LG, Samsung but honestly the coloring on this 75" knocks your socks off! I am a VERY VERY fussy buyer as well. I scrutinize everything. I am knocking on wood but as far as screen issues I have not experienced any of the problems some others are saying. I did adjust the settings to my liking, different from the factory, and it looks amazing! I got this at such a fabulous price too. Having 5 HDMI ports is wonderful...we are using them all. The Vizio P Series is awesome and this company has come a long way in improving their sets! We own 2 other Vizio 2016 model 60" TV's ... lower end quality but still 4K ... and they have lovely pictures as well. I did buy a 4 year extended warranty just in case but for now if you are in the market for a really great TV at a good price, grab one of these while you can!

My wife and I purchased this television and I am extremely happy with it’s picture. I am very picky and notice a lot of things. Even the sound coming from the speakers are quite impressive. I have the television hooked up to a A/V receiver and would be happy if that wasn’t the case. The only drawback is the lack of 4K programming.

There is a lot of competition at the 65" size, but there are very few 75" sets, if any, that can compare to the 2018 P75-F1's quality at its normal price point. This original price point of $2,299 is often lowered with weekly deals to make the purchase even sweeter. PICTURE QUALITY Now even though television technologies such as LG's OLED and Samsung's QLED can clearly outperform the P75-F1's picture quality, it is usually only noticeable by the most discerning eyes. So, for the other 99% of the population, you are going to be more than pleased with the visual performance of this VIZIO model. It has great contrast with very deep blacks, and it has an amazing amount of vibrancy throughout the color spectrum. It is capable of being used in every lighting situation that I have thrown at it to this point. Whether it be movies, games, television, SDR or HDR, I am continually impressed by the visual performance. The only thing I was even remotely concerned with was what I heard about viewing angles. But no worries, because since it is a 75" model, we have not had any issues in our typical sized room. FEATURES The P75-F1 has a wide variety of port versatility, so you should have no problem hooking it up to pretty much anything. While it doesn't have any physical AI features, such as a remote you speak into, its built in Chromecast works pretty darn well with most of the commands I send to my Google Home devices, including my phone. DESIGN Whether you have it on a stand or the wall, when you have this size tv in a room you are obviously trying to make a statement. This is why you will not be upset with the very slimmed down bezels around this unit. With the exception of that bottom little strip it is pretty much all screen. In addition, even though it is not a super slim set, it is by no means the thickest either. The materials used on the rear don't have a super premium feel or look, but they are solid, functional, and a welcomed sacrifice for the savings. And unless you have it in a place where people can walk behind it, there is no reason to see the back anyway. SOFTWARE At the current moment, the software is probably the only current misstep by VIZIO. There are definitely some stability issues when switching between inputs from time to time, and for my personal experience these seem to be a result of the latest update. An update that has added a FREE input that can give cord cutters another outlet for media consumption. This input dubbed WATCH FREE has access to some molded TV channels that range from News, Fights, Movies, and Music. Furthermore, VIZIO continued to to leave this SMART TV void of any type of applications store. However, it does come pre-loaded with every mainstream content viewing app that I have ever used or wanted to use on a SMART TV. So, depending on what digital content you use, you might have to dip $50ish into the money that you saved by buying this TV, to get a ROKU, FIRE TV STICK, etc. The only other thing I feel that software related that slightly bothers me is the inconsistency of the internet connection speed. The lower than expected MBPS speed, while it's not instant, I don't have to wait very long for content to load. Maybe 10-15 seconds on average. I didn't want to condemn this model by a whole star because it is obvious that this is something VIZIO is continually working on, and these issues, for me, have been merely minor nuisances. SOUND I haven't used any TV's built in speakers since flat screens became popular, so I am typically underwhelmed by all television speakers. I was able to hear everything without issue, but when I want that movie theater style experience I usually used my soundbar/surround sound/subwoofer setup. (Another potential use for your savings) OVERALL I have truly enjoyed consuming media on this mammoth display. If you are looking for 75" inch with amazing picture quality along with the absence of a mind blowing price tag, you can stop looking right now. And unless you are in the small percent of picture quality snobs that love to say "My TV looks better than yours!" but spend double the money for a fraction of quality improvement, then you will be thrilled with the P75-F1. For instance, there were a couple TV's that I was looking at with slightly better picture and features, Sony's 900F and Samsung's Q6F, but the former was $1,000 more and the latter $1500 more. So, it was ridiculously easy for me to make the decision in terms of quality to price terms. The only concern I had was with the reliability of this more budget friendly model. But fortunately, VIZIO has packed a whole bunch of value into the P75-F1, and with my savings I was able to afford an extended warranty for some peace of mind. And I still have savings to spare along with no issues to this point. If you are able to get your hands on one of these models, if it performs the way it is designed to (mine has!), you will not be disappointed.

    Bad Vertical Banding

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: Great blacks. Excellent picture Quality. Great Build Quality. FALD is great. Cons: User Interface is slow, Switching inputs is a pain, subtitles on movies are way too bright because of FALD (no firmware fix yet) Maybe I got a bad panel but here's my experience: I got bad vertical banding with my TV from the start. Also, after 1 month, Input 1 is flickering on me now. Toggling thru the inputs, it may select the wrong input because the interface is lagging. The apps menu is slow as well. Sometimes the TV would freeze and reset itself. Also, you cant watch movies with subtitles because the words are way to bright. The Full Array Local Dimming is making the words too bright. There's other reviewers with the same problems. I didn't want to take the risk of getting another bad Vizio TV so i went with Samsung QLED instead. I could have dealt with everything else except the HDMI input 1 flickering and the Vertical banding so I had to return it.

Did a lot of research before buying this tv and compared it to Sony and Samsung. The specs are great and so are the reviews in other websites. VIZIO has come a long way in their TV's, since I would never buy one before. I had MITSUBISHI, SONY, etc. but never a VIZIO. However, reading about this TV and comparing pricing and specs to other TV's, this was a great buy/value! Black blacks, vivid colors, great contrast, fast moving TV, etc........you will be happy with this TV and their other newer ones that have come out after this one. Only recommendation to VIZIO would be to make a better remote and one where the keys illuminate so you can see what you are doing in the dark. Happy Viewing!

I found this TV as an open box item with a nice discount. The Vizio P series is notoriously hard to track down as it's very popular, so I jumped at the chance and drove an hour away to pick this up. After barely getting this behemoth of a TV in my car and getting it home and set up, I am truly happy with my choice. I was looking at either this or the Sony X900f. The difference in picture quality truly isn't worth the $1k difference between the TVs. I haven't put the TV through its paces yet, but I have it reasonably calibrated and paired with the Sony ST5000 soundbar. 4k bluray looks absolutely perfect on this set, especially with Dolby Vision content. HDR10 content looks equally as spectacular, and video games from the Xbox One S are stunning as well. The Smart features on this TV are light years better than some of Vizio's past offerings, and the Smartcast app for the phone is exceptional and easy to use. Apps on the TV open quickly and smoothly, and there is a ton of content to choose from. A bit of maybe unnecessary criticism here, but Directv content is somewhat subpar. That's mainly due to 1080i broadcast and the sheer size of TV processing a somewhat weak signal. So you can't necessarily fault Vizio for it. That said, this TV will mainly be used for Blu-ray and digital content, and for that, you won't find a better big TV for the price. If anything arises, I will update my review, but if you are looking for a midrange 4K TV, skip the Samsung and Sony models and go for the Vizio P. You won't be disappointed.

Samsung and Sony level performance less $$

I will be the first person to admit that when it comes to technology, I am far from being cheap or frugal. I absolutely value the performance of latest pieces of technology over great bargains whether its TVs, audio systems, cell phones, etc. I spent at least 36 hours (cummulative) researching TVs when I knew I was planning on making a sizable investment on a new 75" TV four my bonus movie room. My previous TV, which was being moved to the living room set was a 2016 Samsung KS8000 one of the first more affordable 4K sets at the highest end of the spectrum (this was pre-quantum series offering). I say this because I first too to checking out the Samsung TV lineup as I had LOVED the KS8000. I was a bit disheartened to find the new latest and greatest 8-series in their quantum lineup was over $2600 for a 75". After reading the reviews as well, one TV kept popping up on rtings, cnet, toms guide you name it - the Vizio P75-F1. It seemed in some ways the Vizio even OUTPERFORMED the samsung and sony top of the line units for close to $1000 less. I say outperform loosely because Samsung and Sony don't formally publicize full active array dimming zones while Vizio does (this has to do with ability to get high levels of contrast in black/dark scenes and reduce "blooming"). After looking at the TV in store, I thought it looked the part and even better I was able to price match to a sale Costco was having on the set for about $300 off normal list price. After getting this TV mounted and settings dialed in, I was astonished at the picture quality. While not necessarily as bright as the Samsung quantum offerings, I openly welcome any Sony or Samsung loyalist to watch a 4K blu ray on this TV and tell me it isn't as good if not better than any top of the line brand name model. Note: I exclude OLED TVs from my consideration because I was still hesitant about burn in risk and the absolute cost craziness at the time.

This is the 2nd Vizio P75 I have bought, the first being a P75-C1 from 2016. I liked the features from the 2016 and was hoping for a similar TV. The older one is in a media room, this TV replaced an older Vizio P70 in the living room. There are a few grumbles which apply to most LED TVs like slight dirty screen effect but otherwise, it is a really nice TV. It has less zones in the dimming than the older TV but I can't really tell the difference for general TV viewing. I like the ability to stream 4K HDR videos through YouTube which the 2016 could not do. The built-in apps are a bit slow but otherwise seem ok when you start to watch anything. I have connected a Dish Network Joey 4K, an Apple TV and a lightly used XBox One S, with sound through a connected sound bar. They all seem to work fine on the various HDMI inputs but I wish that when you finished streaming a video or music through the GoogleCast, it went back to HDMI 1 instead of defaulting back to the Cast screensaver. Overall it was a nice TV to upgrade to. There are probably better TVs out there but they are much more expensive and to me, not worth the extra given how soon they start to become obsolete.

This is a high quality tv, especially for the price. Colorful, bright, beautiful picture(especially for movies); features both types of HDR(hdr and Dolby vision), and a decent(but not excellent) streaming/smart tv platform. Compare this to the Sony 900f, and there is virtually no difference picture-wise. At hundreds of dollars cheaper, this is a value-priced tv with high end features.

Solid set for the price. Not nearly as good as the c8 or 900 series series but outperforms the new RU series. Picture over cable is pretty good, sound is ok if you run high volume but it through a audio system. DVD / streaming the 4k picture is good but not superior. The screen gets black similar if not slightly better then the 900e and 900f but nowhere near as good as the c8. The screen gets bright but not brighter then the sony but brighter then the Samsung RU in my opinion. Video games the tv is great. I think it is similar to the Sony, and inferior to the c8 and RU due to response. Picture is crisp and the tv responds fast enough I notice no issues in casual gaming hardcore gamers may say otherwise. I picked this set up on close out for 1500. Set up is super simple. For a budget 75" this is better then the RU or tcl but it does match up against the 900 series or the c8, c9. Got this set to sit in my basement and play games or watch sports and it does well. When I want better images quality I move to my 900 series or oled but the vizio is now the biggest set in my home and I do have things that I will only use it for - games, and sports with a group of people. Worth the buy for due to size vs price vs quality. Not a center piece tv but it also isnt on the price scale.

I returned my Samsung Q7FN for this. I will miss the software and the remote control the Samsung offered. The Vizio software is sluggish and the remote is embarrassingly boring in comparison. I do appreciate the full array panel the Vizio offers however and this is why I ultimately returned the Samsung. I couldn't handle the bleed from the edge panel of the Samsung Q7 (I couldn't afford the Q8). Overall I'm very happy with this Vizio television.

This TV has Dolby Vision which I personally love, and has a really good contrast which makes colors pop. You will notice some color bleeding through from the back lighting when the screen is black and there's a moving white object but I only notice this when Netflix is loading. For everyday viewing and the ocassional movie night this blows similarly priced TV's out of the water! For a comparable Samsung you would pays hundreds if not close to a thousand more. I got this TV on sale during Black Friday (via price match) and am glad I did. Get the insurance though, since I've read mixed customer reviews about materials/quality control with this particular model. The interface is the same as the previous M model Vizio I owned, which I like, but the interface is just a tiny bit sluggish compared to "high end" TV's. Overall this is in my opinion the King (or Queen) of mid-grade televisions.

This TV is stunning. There is not a TV at the 75" size that can match the features for the price point. The "Smart TV" functions are not best in class, but I much prefer an external device like the Roku anyway.
