It's OK, not as good as the Sony
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because I like android, and its capabilities were intriguing. I got it home and set it up, and it was very easy to configure. During setup, it programmed the remote with the codes for my TV, and sound system which was nice. There was also a software update, so i installed that. Once all that was finished, I started testing everything, and it was sluggish. The is IR and Bluetooth, and there are times when the unit would not respond to key presses. The built in track pad, was annoying to click. You had to tap it like a laptop track pad, but most of the time the mouse moved instead of clicked. You have to constantly move the cursor back to where you wanted to click multiple times before it will click. The keyboard has no back light, so it is initially hard to use in the dark. The Google TV remote App works much better than the remote and adds voice search. The unit itself froze 4 or 5 times in the few day I had it. I did a factory reset, and that did not fix the freezing issue. Unit does not have a light to indicate that it is on, but it is not required since it is always on. I returned mine due to these issues. I bought the Sony NSZ-GS7 and it works much better and smoother.

Great for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love google tvs. I have 3 including this one. this is very compact, as many features as my expensive sony tv. Not limited to any brand tv. hooks up to any tv with hdmi plug. (not included). also has a slot for a usb dongle that you can access your files and videos from. If you're looking for a player for Hulu or Netflix you get the extra benefit of Chrome internet browser with this. (worth the $20-$30 bucks more that a roku style box). Pretty innovative controller, it uses both sides. Keyboard in one side and more traditional tv remote on the other. It's bogged down on me a couple times and takes a little recovery time, but a good value when you consider the price. Go get one!

Great device for watching Plex
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little device for watching your personal library. I bought it mainly for the purpose of watching my digital library via Plex. I bought my first one two weeks ago for the living room. I have since bought two more for the bedrooms. It is a lot less expensive than buying smart TV's. And being an Amazon prime member, I can also watch movies there, as well as other places via apps from Google Play. The remote is full featured, but could be a little better. For instance, you can set it up to control your TV and cable/satellite box, including turning off the TV, but you can't turn off your cable/satellite box. There also is no light on the Co-Star indicating that it is on, so you have to wait on the TV to come on to be sure the Co-Star is on. I have only used the web browser once, but it seemed to work just fine. All in all, I would recommend the Co-Star to everyone. Don't forget to buy another HDMI cable if you want to route it through your cable/satellite box. That is the best way to get the full experience. You can get two Dynex brand for under $35.00, and they work as good as any high dollar cables.

A value priced google tv option
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product intending to use it primarily to stream videos through the chrome browser. I have a Sony Google TV and am using that for this same purpose in another room, which works perfectly. I found the interface to be a bit clunky, and the remote control was difficult to get use to, though I suspect the remote would improve over time. I had consistent network connectivity issues with the device, both over wifi and hardwired. No matter what I did, my network speeds were a fraction of my available bandwidth and seemed to have serious issues with latency. I could not stream for more than a minute or so without the video having to stop and buffer, and it often did not recover gracefully once the buffering started. It improved on the hardwired connection, but I still ran in to plenty of issues and since running a 75' cable through my home to this device to stream video is not very practical, i returned the device.

Better than the Logitech Revue it replaced.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my Logitech Revue that was acting up. It is much smoother and faster than the review by far. However the remote is too compact and I touch the mouse pad when I don't mean to which becomes tiresome. I also wish Hulu was on this like they have on the Vizio tvs but I got around it with as PS3 on the same tv. It plays nice with my media player wired through it as well. I am enjoying it way better the more I play with it and find new features.

A great way to experience Google TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to see what Google TV is all about, this is a good way to do it, until a "pure Android experience" device comes along. Some of the players are rough around the edges. The Amazon video app can't register with your Amazon.com account. I spent about 45 minutes on a call with a tier II tech and we couldn't find a workaround. I since learned that a recent update broke the registration process. The YouTube and Google Play Movies & TV players are decent. Google Play Music works very nicely. I won't write yet another Google TV review, the web is littered with them. If you want to experience Google TV, this is the best way to do it.

CoStar is cool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's very cool. No computer required for streaming anymore and this guy comes with a remote that has a touchpad mouse and keyboard. You can also easily use an iPhone or Android as a remote. Functionality can easily be expanded by downloading apps. Basically, it turns any tv into a smart tv; an Android TV. The only downside is the Chrome browser is not updated to the latest version of Flashplayer so you cannot stream content from the browser. An app is required from the content provider IF available. Other than that, I love it.

Good Features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to surf videos on a tv instead of having to use a computer for my in-laws. It works well, but the remote control has a mouse touchpad that is difficult to use because it is not very accurate. luckily, you can use the arrow keys to navigate around, but there are still a few things the mouse pad has to be used for and that caused some frustration. Overall, I find it better than the Roku because of the browser.

Completely satisfied.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I am completely satisfied with the co-star. There are still some bugs that need to be worked on, but with time and more people using Google TV that will happen. I do think there should be a power indicator on the front and a back-lit rechargeable remote control. The unit does tend to get pretty warm but I haven't had it shut down due to over heating as of yet.

Adds a lot of features to a non smart tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great way to add most all the features to a non smart tv at a very reasonable price. It would be even better if you did not have to call your cable company to get some of the setup codes required to let one remote operate all of the features of TV. Cable box and Vizio streaming box, also works well with Roku 3, some of the services are duplicated .great all around addition to any tv that you will enjoy without having to buy a smart tv system and utilizes one remote.

Great addition to a basic entertainment system.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box and hook up was easy. Netflix and other Apps are blazing fast compared to using the old smart Blu-Ray. Great flexibility with Google Chrome web browsing and Play Store apps availble for installation. I'm a little disappointed that no component codes seemed to work with my Sony sound system or my Samsung TV - gotta keep extra controllers out and availble. Rated it a Good value at the regular price. For me it was Excellent when I used Rewards bucks to make it cost even less.

Good for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had mine for 2 months, and the main problem is some of the apps are too big to download. I don't have cable so I wanted to stream Project Runway from the site, but not enough of it would download at a time to have a good picture. I watch it on my iPad. Also still looking for a way to update any apps it has. Music plays well, but you have to reload the flash drive in the USB every time you turn the machine back on, which gets annoying when everything else just has space to store music to play immediately. But what can I say, it was cheap.

Good streaming device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought one for my sister's birthday. After she liked hers, I bought one for myself. My sister uses hers in her living room and it is connected to her router. I use mine in my bedroom and it is connected to wi-fi. My sister has no problems with connection or picture. My connection is a little slow and the picture is a bit pixelated. I believe this is a good device when connected to the router and an ok device over wifi.

Lacking features I'd expect from 2012 device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this falls directly on the average of GoogleTV devices which have been released since the Logitech Revue, but like all but the Revue, lacks the Harmony software's ability to control home theater devices properly. this is also (like every other GTV device currently out) lacking in in many modern and just plain ubiquitous codecs. this natively supports playback of only MKV or MP4 as a container, x264 video, and MP3, AAC and WMA audio. by the time this was designed, built in support for AVI and WebM (yes, technically MKV, but its not recognized) containers, Vorbis, FLAC, AC3 and DTS audio, and VP6(F)/8, Theora, and Divx/Xvid video SHOULD HAVE BEEN STANDARD ISSUE. GTV Chrome has sucked since the beginning, but this is known to be planned to be fixed with the GTV 4.2.2 update. hopefully, at least most of my other gripes will be fixed, as well

This thing is great! Compact and better then most
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my girlfriend has a Sony google TV and this thing is so much better the remote is simple and much better. I will say the touch pad could use a little tweaking but I have found myself using the Google Remote app on my Android phone... wow. It will play most flash videos and HTML5 videos. I have watched many youtube videos in HD and they look great. The Amazon OnDemand is beautiful and streams great. Have not tried Netflix for I am an Amazon Prime user and Netflix is a dying breed. Spotify would be a great addition and then I would be the happiest person alive.

Not a bad product for $70
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot complain about the cost or my satisfaction with the device. The setup was very straightforward. The unit is compact for discrete placement in tight spaces. The remote's standard function + "mouse pad-like function" and QWERTY keyboard make for optimal convenience and functionality and I only wish my SMART TV remote was a functional. In case it helps to know, I mounted my 32 inch flat TV in the kitchen on the wall and I needed a compact+strong unit since my wife likes TV so much but doesn't like to cook so much. I think I have found balance for her wants and mine. In close, if you are new to these type of devices, choose this one; It is very simple to setup and maintain and it is quite the bang for buck.

Good product to make your tv a smart tv.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to turn my living room tv into a smart tv as I didn't want to buy a new tv just yet. So far so good. I am able to watch the shows I enjoy from the enclosed apps such as netflix and crackle. It's also useful to surf the net if I don't want to turn on my computer. Other than that It does what I want it to do, and that is to stream media.

for $99.00 its good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this device when I travel. So I use it in hotel rooms. On hotel wireless systems you need to login on a web page to do so you need access to the browser. But you need to be logged in to register your device. Makes it a hassle. Other than that its a great little device.
