I was so happy to purchase this just to find out that the cabel that’s connected to it doesn’t fit my 2nd generation ring camera even though it says for Ring video doorbell 2nd generation. The plug that’s connected to it is a micro usb and my 2nd generation has a usb c not micro so why would this be for a 2nd generation when 2nd generation has usb c

In full sunlight, the charger does a great job. I live on the Illinois - Wisconsin border and my camera faces north. Also, it is under an overhang. I hope I painted a fair picture of what the solar panel is up against.. When I mount the charger on the southern exposure of my house it does a fantastic job of charging. But not on my north facing main street entrance with the overhang. I want to be fair to the expectations of anyone purchasing a solar charger of any kind. They need fairly direct if not at least a bright exposure to the sun's rays. What I like from an installation point of view is the recess for the connector cable. Perfect!. The rubber ribs (see photos) seal out any water of other elements from the rear of the doorbell. The four (4) mounting holes are nicely spaced. The charger is fairly large so it may not fit most brickmould on most houses. Not a problem if you can mount it in a convenient location on the wall or door itself. Aesthetically, it looks sharp. Carbon forward for those interested in the world of sustainability. I do recommend this for those with sufficient daily sunlight. Since the doorbell's battery can last a long time once charged, hazy days won't affect it.

I knew I did not have the ideal conditions for a solar charger for my Ring doorbell. My porch is covered and faces north but I could not find much information about how well it would work (or not work) in my conditions so I thought I would be the guinea pig. It didn't work for me. It is well made and was easy to install. The section of the doorframe where it's installed is narrower than the unit but I was able to install it firmly with 2 of the 4 screws. I am sure if your doorbell faces south and gets direct sunlight for much of the day, this will help extend the battery life of your Ring!

Installation was easy, but its not the best.. it just won’t charge well enough. Even now, it’s 100F outside, but still need charging. It just helps to add little extra life sometimes

This product wasn't charging my ring doorbell, I thought it was but I had to take the ring down and plug it in for it to show who was at the door.

It didn’t fit my need, the side’s did not fix to be mounted to my home,I so needed it, perhaps you can make solar panel with just the top and bottom, leave side off so it will fit in to the baseboard of the home.

It has held steady but every so often we still have to dismount The Ring and charge it in the house so it is not getting enough charge outside and that was the whole purpose of getting this.

Hard to hook up, Does not charge the doorbell! Had to new holes in house to mount it. Just not impressed . .

Cannot be certain if works. On day one it showed charging, but I cannot seem to catch it working again and already recharged doorbell separately. Going to change location and test, then update

It will only work with the second version of the ring video doorbell, the back panel is different on the original.

built very well good price easy to install unit is more like a battery maintainer than a charger.

Works OKAY as long as it's in direct sunlight. Won't work on a shaded porch or on a cloudy day.

The solar charger is helpful to extend battery life but does not replace the need for batteries.

It barely keeps it charged. I put it in a sunny spot and turned off snapshots. I still have to pull it off and give it a full charge every couple of months.

I use it but I think my porch is big for let the sun, because i have to keep charging my battery. The plug broke when I tried to unplugged it to change it.

Well it charges it but wont last that long what most people expect to do, I wouldnt recommend it for busy street.

It just not keep the doorbell chargered enough i still have to take the battery out and charge it
