Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent wash quality, ease of use, and capacity of this 3.8 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer. Many appreciate its performance and find it a great value for the price. However, some customers note that the washer can be quite loud and that the spin cycle may be a concern for some users. The presence of an agitator is a positive feature for many buyers.

Having had the same Kenmore for over 35 years, I had to adjust to the new Whirlpool. Initially, I was put off by the need to put laundry detergent in first, before the clothes. And by the need to be more diligent in balancing my loads. And lastly by the vibrations during the spin cycles. Adjust I did and am now very pleased with the Whirlpool. My wash always comes out super clean, I love saving precious water, and the vibrations really don't bother me as I learned they're pretty normal... AND they're quiet. The machine's options and features are great.

We have had this washer for a few months now and it is working very well. I think for the price it is a great deal! We like it better than the front loader we had previously. No bending down, large capacity and gets our clothes clean!

We bought this as a quick replacement for a washer that broke down. We were happy to get a washer with an agitator again after the impeller style of our last one. The capacity is great even with the agitator taking up space and the clothes come out great. There are more cycle and temperature options than we had previously and that is a definite plus.

We have really enjoyed our new Whirlpool washing machine. Nice large tub and an old fashioned agitator, which does a great job washing jeans. Switch to delicate cycle for shirts and blouses, and it slows the agitation. The only thing reason I would not give a 5 star is the machine is a little noisy. But it washes great. And that's what we wanted!

For the most part I really like it, especially after having a washer that only had one cycle left. I got this one to match the dryer I already had. There are almost too many options on the washer. My biggest dislike is that there is no way to control the water level as its auto sensing. I have checked my loads and feel some could use more water, sometimes its not even covering all the items in the washer. Im still trying to get used to the start button and the flashing lights to know when its actually going to start.

This washing machine has so much going or it. First, I don't have to assign the load level, it does that automatically. It is very simple to use...just add detergent, your clothes, and hit start. It does make a lot of noise while it measures the necessary height for the water, but you get used to that pretty quickly. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great machine at a nice price!

I love this washer. I previously had a washer that did not fill completely with water and did not have an agitator. I hated it. This washer has a deep fill option with an agitator. It cleans really well. Laundry is fun again!

Only had this washer since Friday but have put it through a test for sure. The drum is huge! I washed a quilt (full size) and it only took up half of the space with plenty of room for another one. I like the stainless steel drum and the size of it makes it easy to put clothes in. Even with the agitator in the center, it did not interfere with anything. Taking the clothes out was just as easy. It's a deep drum and me being short I did have to stand on my toes to get small things out. I'm use to that and most drums are the same depth. So many washing settings and I tried several of them and was not disappointed. So - stop reading reviews after reviews and go ahead and order this one with the matching dryer. If you don't like you can always send it back but I feel like it will be a part of your family for a long time!!

This was to replace a Kenmore (Whirlpool) I had had for 15 years that had things slowly breaking. I didn’t notice this was HE. I didn’t want an HE, but Whirlpool says that’s all they make now. Because I can’t see the washer fill, and I can’t see soap and bubbles like before, I don’t trust that it’s getting my clothes clean. I’m sure it is. I also wanted a top loader so it wouldn’t lock like a front loader. It still locks. It also makes all kinds of mechanical noises, likely the auto sensing everything (Aka more parts to break). I’m sure it’s fine, I just wasn’t ready to be thrust into 2022 washing machine technology quite so violently. :-). Capacity is very large.

This is the oddest washing machine we have ever owned. It appears to magically work somehow with very little water. We are so used to opening the washing machine lid for whatever reason and see it filled with water. Don't expect it on this machine, it never gets over a few inches, not even over the clothes but somehow it miraculously does a fine job. This really needs to be part of the description of the washing machine. If you read through the reviews you will see people who check the water level freaked out by the lack of water in tub. Yet as I said, it seems to work, just be aware of this "new" way of washing.

Our washer broke right before we sold our house and had to replace it with a comparable unit. Good space and cleans well. It is a little louder then I would have liked and you need to balance correctly so it will not shake to much. Overall a decent lower level option.

I have had the machine for about a month and so far so good. At least I don’t have to babysit it like my last Samsung washer! I have tried both propeller and agitator models of wash machines and prefer the agitator. I think it cleans better and my sheets are not tangled up and making for an unbalanced load.

I’ve always bought Whirlpool(2) so I’m not familiar with the other brands by comparison. The last one I had was over 20 years old. It never needed repairs until the drum stopped agitating so I decided it was time to buy a new one. I read the online manual for this model at Whirlpool's website before it arrived. I knew I wanted to be prepared for all the modern features that were boggling my mind after reading the advert and these reviews. For example, I was very apprehensive about the “lid lock” feature. I want to be able to open that lid any time I want. Water level sensors? OMG. I want to be able to control my own water level. Whirlpool has always been reliable so they’ve earned my trust. I took another chance and they did not disappoint me. This machine is amazing! I love it! I can’t think of anything critical or to suggest an improvement. It’s worth every penny!

I've had this washer about a month now. It works as intended and does a good job. I do wish you could fill the washer first before adding detergent and clothes. If you try to fill the machine empty, it doesn't fill up. The water runs and honestly I don't know where it goes, but even after several minutes there is no water in the bottom. So you are forced to put the clothes in first as it has an auto-sensing water level sensor. But again, it washes well.
