Nice Dryer. Easy to use. Quiet. Overpriced.

It's a nice dryer. It's quiet, easy to operate and works very well. The steam function is a nice option and takes out wrinkles while freshening clothing thats been in a drawer or hanging in a closet for a long time. It doesn't have a light inside or a delay start timer. Yet, it's still priced at near $1,100. I know they offer those features on an even higher priced model, but the price it already is, was a non-starter for me. I waited for a sale. It took a several months but eventually, a sale price of $800 arrived. I bought it then. If I didn't specifically want this model of a Whirlpool Dryer, I could've spent $800 on another brand and got a light and delay timer. But, I wanted a Whirlpool. I'm happy with it and the matching washer. Still overpriced at nearly $1,100 when not on sale.

Had a Whirlpool Duet for 16 years that worked perfectly. Decided to replace them rather than waiting for a breakdown. The 3,2,1 start function is incredibly annoying. This is not a mill saw and there is no reason for a delayed start affecting my safety and to wait 3 seconds before starting while I hold down the start button. Dumb feature as I pick my clothes from the dryer over time and am constantly stopping and starting toward the end of the cycle,I leave t-shirts and shirts to the very end. Dryer doesn't get my t-shirts wrinkle free, like the prior dryer did. Does not generate enough heat. I end up with 10 minutes left running an additional 20 minute steam cycle everytime, for nice flat shirts. Gone through every setting. No change.

So far I like the new dryer. I ended up rotating the door. It can be reversed if you completely disable it and switch the hardware (Ie keep the door in the same orientation and switch the hardware Right to Left). The door can't simply be rotated 180°. I ended up stacking them but had to find some rubber squares as the hard plastic leveling feet would slide on the washer below. I just removed the X on one side to make a pocket and so far it has not moved, the X's seem to grip well, and the pocket on the top was easy to cut with a side cutter. Greg

    Bad Vent Placement

Works great except the placement of lint vent in back doesn't leave workability to connect to outside vent. The vent tubing that was the only available type for this dryer is metal so it forces dryer too far from the wall.

    Sprays cold water, not steam

    Posted .

Purchased this dryer in January 2019 to replace my 14 year old Whirlpool Duet dryer. This dryer has option to spray cold water (not steam) on your clothes, and then warm your clothes until the water evaporates. It is like taking a cold shower while standing in front of heating vent and calling it a steam shower. And if you have a small load of clothes, the water spray hits the door and leaks out on to your floor. Regarding dryer design, why is the door 26 inches diameter while the drum opening is only 16 inches? And I still can not figure out which options to use to to get my clothes dry on the first cycle. So I am a little disappointed with this dryer, and I am very disappointed with the companion washer WFW6620HW.

Nothing incredibly fancy, but works great, runs quiet. Haven't had any issues. Love the steam feature - the Steam Refresh cycle actually works surprisingly well for removing wrinkles from just about anything that's wet or dry (just make sure you put more than 1 small garment in when using that cycle to prevent excess moisture from accumulating inside the drum).

Wife and I bought this dryer along with a washer. Stacked them in our new laundry room in order to save space for vacuums and shelves. The dryer has performed flawlessly. We were both amazed at how fast it drys clothes. Having it on top of the washer makes for easy loading and unloading. It is extremely quiet and easy to operate. We have not tried out the steam feature as of this writing, but it will certainly come in handy when we need to use it. We have become big fans of Whirlpool products with this purchase and other purchase we have made over the years. American made products are the best!

As soon as we got the dryer, there was an issue with it squeaking. Whirlpool customer service was time consuming with 2+ hours on hold and then the rep took the wrong report and when the service company they contracted with called, we were told that we needed to pay a service fee. This was not correct and after some time and frustration, this was fixed when we showed them the receipt. It was fixed and it's a good dryer, so no complaints there but this should of been working perfectly to start with. Has good functions and drys well without wrinkles.

Large capacity, several settings (including steam) and ease of cleaning the lint trap. The look is sleek and matches the washer perfectly. Clothes dry in less time than previous dryers I've had, using less electricity.

It is so easy to use, and it is fantastic. Dries heavy towels the first time if you use the towel setting. Maybe that should be expected, but this is the first dryer I've used that does that. It just knows how long to dry things for.
