Because Thor Is My Furry Soulmate!

I have always loved my dog Thor so much, that his safety and well being are paramount to my approach to the doggie/guardian paradigm. I dig spending time with the little fluff and the feeling is mutual. I might be a bit of a helicopter dad, but I strive to teach him through 100% positive reinforcement and love-while respecting that he is a dog, and needs to be a dog. That means that he might one day be so excited or startled that he may not "come" when called and slip the leash or escape the fence. Being that he is 4" off the ground, he may get lost and not recognize paths he travels every day. The Whistle 3 ROCKS! I've had it for 3 weeks and we're still on the initial charge with 38% to go. Knowing he has the Whistle 3 on him means he's traceable if he gets out (and he hasn't), and when he's in, I can rest a bit easier; I probably give off a more serene vibe in lieu of a ball of unnecessary anxiety to Thor which makes us enjoy adventures to the river, camping, or walks around the block more and makes the time spent together far more enriching and less likely to manifest "the WORST CASE SCENARIO". It's durable, has an intuitive app, and is very inexpensive. The health tracker would be slightly more useful it could filter out or be set to ignore car rides. That makes the "pedometer" feature wildly inaccurate-but I didn't buy it for a Doggie Fit device but a tracker. I strongly recommend this product as an animal lover. Dr Jeremy Riddle

I have two of the Whistle 3 Pet Trackers and they are fantastic! Perfect for my two adventurous cats. The customer service and support is outstanding! If you have any questions or concerns they are on point to get it fixed. I highly recommend this product. I've attached photos of my sweet kitties wearing them so you can get an idea of size and fit.

This device works very well. It shows the location of my dog, and if alerts me if he leaves our yard. It will also track him if necessary. I tried the tracking part out when he rode in my car.

It actually works. I was skeptical at first, but quickly pleasantly surprised. Setup was simple and it cost less than $9 a month. I paid for a year of service at once, and got a discount, and found it way cheaper than anything else out there. Always works, easily detaches from collar to recharge, charge lasts at least 10days, gives me text updates when my dog leaves her zone, gives distance from home, can set up multiple zones, can change the refresh time from standard 6 min to 1 min in track mode. My dogs like to chase deer and we let them get out and run. It’s a huge peace of mind to always know where they are. I had called my Border Collie and she wouldn’t return (older and getting stubborn/rebellious), she couldn’t believe it when I walked 200yds and shined my flashlight on her! Busted!!! Only negative is that you cannot play a sound on it. Ordering a second one for my German Shepherd tonight. Highly recommend. It works.

Whistle fan since the 1st generation came out a few years ago and still impressed. So much keeps changing from the app, services and connections. GPS and activity tracking is on point and love that I no longer need the home base plugged in for this to communicate back and forth. Service plans are reasonable but wish the prices was a little cheaper or a discount if combined with Pet Insurance or something. All in all I love this for tracking my dogs status and location. Great investment.

    Cell coverage is key

The product features are great, including the relatively small form factor (no clunky device hanging off my dog’s collar). I had to return it, however, because it could not get a cell signal. It works off AT&T’s network, which must have poor coverage here, because it was unable to track my dog either in our yard or at the park - which are the two primary places I need it.

Not hard to set up. Works very well. There is a little delay sometimes in tracking, but it always catches up and pinpoints. It updates itself every minute. Be aware that you will have to purchase a year of Garmin access to make it work after you actually purchase the unit. You will need to recharge every few days.

If you have a pet that tends to run away, this is a must. I had the previous generation model, and recently purchased this one since it was on sale and it seemed smaller. In reality, it's almost the same size as the previous gen model; but, without the weird antennas on the side - so it's still a bit bulky if you have a small/med sized dog. With that said, I do find that the battery lasts longer and also charges quicker on this model. Now, for the important parts - for the device to work well, you should have decent WiFi coverage and live in a place where AT&T wireless gets a signal (the Whistle uses AT&T service) - having bad WiFi and poor AT&T service can mean draining the battery quicker. Alerts are not instant either, there's an alert when the dog is about 400 feet away (doesn't mean from the property; but, the boundary that was set) - if you have a fast dog, or the dog was picked up by someone the initial location can be inaccurate. I find that depending on where I am, the updated locations can be accurate or a bit delayed - thankfully I have only had to use the location features 3 times in the last 2 years. In rare occasions (and I mean rare), there will be no alerts - I have found this to usually be my fault - like being in airplane mode or do not disturb; so if at all possible, you do want to be aware if your pet ran off asap, and begin tracking asap. Overall, I am happy with Whistle, and it is better than nothing. The battery is already pretty good; but, in the next version I'd love to see an improved battery with a device that actually makes a sound to make it easier to locate the pet, notify people there's a lost dog on the run, and potentially scare off predators if needed. On one occasion I also had someone who thankfully picked up my dog ask what the device was, so people do notice it - it would be nice if Whistle offered customizations or small nameplates to put on the device with a phone number or maybe even info on going to a website and entering in a number or something.

I have a Sheltie that is super hyper active and I had read up on ways of locating him if he ever gets out. My dog is chipped, but I wanted a little added insurance. They were sold out at my usual store, so BestBuy called around and found me one. Even though my dog hasn't escaped, if we go for a RIDE?, he knows what that means, I barely get out of my neighborhood and I am being texted on where he is. I love it.

It was a great investment however, there are a few glitches. The first time my dog got out. It worked. The second time not so great so I had to exchange the device.

I like how it tells me her daily minutes of activity. It also will tell me if she has left my property, but not as quickly as I would like. Sometimes, we get in the car and I'll be a fourth of a mile away from our hone before I get a notification.

What I like most about the Whistle 3 is the ability to exactly set my dog’s safe zone. The ability to set multiple places is an added bonus. Although I have limited AT&T coverage, the unit has been very reliable. The GPS refresh rate is set to 6 minutes by default. I’ve changed mine to 3 minutes but it can also be set at 10, 15 or 30 minutes to save battery life. Half of my yard is out of WiFi range where my dog goes daily and battery life still lasts at least a weak. Unit charges quickly. I purchased the Link AKC GPS unit and returned it after a day. Have been using the Whistle 3 for 6 weeks and love it.

This tracker last about one week of full charge with taking my dog on walks twice a day, charges in about 4 hours, sends to updated location to your phone or email every 60 secs if you want to actively track your dog but it will us up your battery faster. No where on here does it say that you have to pay monthly or annually fee for phone satellite tracking. I paid 108 annually to try it out since my dog is a puppy and could easily wonder off...

I purchased the whistle pet tracker for a family member while she was traveling. She really liked the security of knowing where the dogs were as she did not want to lose them away from home. The only thing that we noticed was that this tracker needed a longer battery life. Other than that this product performed as described. Which made us satisfied with the purchase.

It's pretty accurate as gas as the GPS but this thing needs an audible siren or noise so if your pet scratches it off somewhere you can retrieve it. Maybe whistle 4 will have an add on.

My dog is fast, real fast. He gets in these moods when he rushes the door, chases or gets distracted and soon he’s out of sight. My anxiety is actually tolerable when this happens knowing I can locate him. It’s simple to set up but I’ve had a few connectivity issues on cell towers. There’s a cell shadow in some areas, and that cost the overall service a star. But the interface and electronics get FIVE STARS. Customer service gets FIVE STARS

I bought this right before going on a trip that I could not take my dog along with me. I was worried about leaving her at my family's house because although the yard is fenced, she is a very curious dog and could get out if she really wanted to. This product works great as it allows you to set up parameters of where the safe zone of your pet is. Once the dog is out of that area it instantly send you an alert and you can start tracking your dogs whereabouts right away. One thing you should know is that this thing runs on Wifi. While away on my trip the wifi was rebooted which caused the product to alert me. Although the dog was still in the safe zone, since the wifi was off it thought that she had left the safe zone. So even though you set the parameters, it is really picking up yout wifi signal and using that as your safe zone. Overall I think this is still a great buy because if she had gotten out I would still be able to locate her. Buy it now!!

Hello, People of the Internet. 1- Customer Service is heartless, I'm in a budget since the Hurricane, So I returned my device, I called and Even post on Instagram I don't want the service. I post the picture why. but your are lock in a contract after you sign on the month to month subscript. I called twice. Fist time whem I return the device and Another one today since I still been billed. 2- the device is made poorly. Is chewy toys harder than this plastic with rubber. be aware you need to buy extra Rubber to holl the device in place, since the remplacment rubber take 3 to 4 weeks to arrived.
