I have tried so many keyboards over the years, as I have owned nearly every iPad varient. This is by far the best! 2-year battery off a single charge! Backlit keyboard with 7 color options and 3 brightness levels in addition to off. It's heavier than most, due to solid build and long-life battery. But I like that because it has the mass to be stable. It has a perfectly fitted shell that goes on your iPad - u could use just the shell and no keyboard - Awesome protection. The shell with iPad installed mates seemlesly to the keyboard for instance disconnect/ or connect. Solid connection that allows u to open and close the clamshell configuration as if were a laptop. And what is really cool is that you can insets iPad into shell so that it closes screen-in like a laptop, or screen-up like a convertible tablet. Which is awesome for using to support screen on an airline tray table. And far better key action th n the Ultra-thin smart keypads. Everyone that sees this thinks I'm using a MacBook - until I startle them by seperating it.

The title of the review says all you need to know. I use the keyboard all the time and I really like having it, but it does add weight. It isn't terribly heavy, but you'll notice it. The ipad detaches from it very easily when you want it to, yet it stays firmly attached in normal use. I have never had the ipad detach from the keyboard by accident and I have used it daily for many weeks now. If you want a keyboard, this is a great purchase.

The Zagg Slim Book Case for the iPad Pro 12.9 is perfect for people who type or if you want to turn your iPad into a touch screen semi-laptop it almost makes it look like a MacBook Pro in areas this case is also great if you want to take the tablet off too and use it without the keyboard the tablet is held in place by strong magnets that hold the tablet in many different positions on the keyboard and the many different features and backlighting options makes this my go to keyboard case for the iPad Pro

This is the best keyboard I have ever had! The quality is unbelievable, and my 12.9 inch iPad fits perfectly. I only have to charge it up every few days. It's like having a regular laptop.

I love this product! Yes I does made my iPad heavier. And yes it is heavier than my MacBook Pro was....but I still think it is the best alternative for me. It is just like having a MacBook. I have a wireless hard drive and my iPad Pro is 128g. So it all good.

I'm not satisfied with this purchase. It's only been a few weeks and already the back is falling apart. It's meant to hold the tablet and secure it to the keyboard and, if you leave it attached to your iPad always, it's fine. I didn't because the keyboard is heavy and I don't use it everyday. So, inserting and removing your iPad from the back support cause the edges to crack and break. It still holds it well enough to use but it looks awful with this long piece just dangling at the top edge. I think Best Buy will replace it because I impulsively bought insurance when prompted by the clerk. We'll see.

This keyboard converts my iPad Pro into a laptop. I recommend it.

A WONDERFUL BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD FOR MY NEW IPAD 12.9. I DID A LOT OF RESEARCH AND THE MAIN FEATURE THAT SOLD ME IS THAT I CAN DETACH KEYBOARD AND USE THE IPAD IN A VERTICAL POSITION FOR READING. EVERYONE THAT SEES IT (INCLUDING AN APPLE EMPLOYEE) WANT TO KNOW WHAT KIND IT IS AND WHERE I GOT IT. VERY VERY PLEASED!!

When it worked, so for about 6 months, I loved this product. The sad part is that the hinge starts to crack about 6 - 8 months into the life span of this case. Once that hinge cracks, it becomes impossible to open and close the case, and the hinge can no longer hold the iPad. I was hoping the first one this happened to was a fluke, but sadly my second one is going the same way in about the same amount of time. Whatever plastic Zagg uses does not hold up to the wear and tear, no matter how gentle I am in opening the case. I've had other Zagg products for previous iterations of the iPad and have always loved them. I want to love this one, but there's nothing you can do once the hinge starts to crack. Please fix it Zagg! I want to love your products again!

I echo everything positive that's already been said about this keyboard/case combo. I love it and it's made my iPad Pro my default computing device maybe 90% of the time. The build quality is very good and yes, while it's heavy, remember that it has to be or else it would tip over. My only concerns so far, after a few weeks of use, is that the outer case that protects the back of the iPad is prone to collecting scratches pretty easily. I'm very careful with my toys but already there are noticeable scratches and I can't imagine from what. Also, be aware that, since both the case surrounding the iPad and the slot into which the iPad is inserted into the keyboard are both plastic, after time you'll hear plastic-on-plastic squeaking and creaking as you open and close your iPad against the keyboard. During normal use, and while poking the screen, no problem. Only when adjusting the angle of the iPad or opening/closing is it heard. The reason this bothers me is that in meetings, I can't adjust it during quiet moments. I'm going to try wedging some kind of thin padding into the slot somehow to see if that keeps the plastic from sounding like a pig rooting for truffles. Everything else about it is about as perfect as you could hope. I love the extra keyboard functions like the task switcher, Siri, etc. Best bang for your buck with this keyboard if you can look past its necessary weight, the possibility of being a scratch magnet, and the creaking sounds that will develop over time. I still don't regret the purchase!

Was hesitant to spend this much money on a keyboard but for this size iPad, every case is going to be somewhat bulky and/or heavy. This keyboard makes the iPad look and work almost like a MacBook Air. The keyboard is very sturdy and has the same appearance as a MacAir keyboard. The backlit keys work extremely well and the battery lasts forever! I can't think of anything negative about this case other than it's heavy, but what laptop isn't? Also, the iPad can be easily removed from the keyboard if you don't want to use it full time and the case that the iPad fits into, seems to fit snug and work well. I haven't removed the keyboard since I purchased it... Love it!

It works very well as a keyboard with good action and no issues. Removing the IPad from the keyboard is easy and snapping it back in gets it secure right away. An alternate configuration allows you to set for viewing and the keyboard is unavailable. This is nice but I use it infrequently as the standard vertical position when using the keyboard suffices. The only drawback is that the iPad cover component blocks a bit of my speaker output jack hole so I can't plug in my speakers with the cover on. (I'll never remove it as it's great protection.) I just plug them into my phone and use that. All in all it's a good product.

I own several Apple products, and I choose nothing other than Zagg to protect each. So it was a no-brainer when I purchased my iPad Pro which case to choose. Now the down side is additional weight. However, the protection, and convenience of a full sized keyboard make the added weight well worth it. The backlit keys illuminate quite well - so much so I can type accurately in near zero lighting conditions. The brightness level can be adjusted, as well as the choice of backlight colors. The keys are well made and offer the feel of a laptop or secondary keyboard. Battery life is phenomenal. I've used this keyboard daily for nearly two months without the need to charge. One of the great functions of the Zagg case is the ability to view your iPad in nearly any angle desired. It can be used as a typical keyboard setup, or moved into cinema mode, folio mode, or remove the keyboard and your iPad remains protected with the back cover. I have no regrets with this purchase and highly recommend for the ultimate in keyboarding with your iPad Pro.

Saw a lot of reviews complaining about broken hinges. Mine works well so far and I did get insurance on this product just to be on the safer side. Good responsive keyboard and I like the shortcut keys and good 135 deg viewing angle

For the larger iPad Pro this is almost a necessity. It really does help keep the tablet in the perfect position. Keyboard is flawless. The backlight is great in dim light situations. I took off 1 star for two reasons. The black cover shows fingerprints, no biggy. And, it's pricy. It holds the iPad Pro very snugly and I really don't have to worry about it getting bumped or scratched.

Absolutely love the screen positioning that it allows. That's why I bought it. Super convenient. I don't like the other multi-folding iPad keyboard covers because they are not stable. This one sits exactly how you want it at any angle. In your lap. On a desk. On a plane drink tray. Doesn't slide around. The drawback is that the hinge is so tight to hold the positioning, that it's subject to breaking. My employer ordered the iPad Pro and the keyboard for me at our required vendor and it came cracked at the hinges. I liked it so much that my employer returned theirs and I went to Best Buy and got another one. I bought the warranty in case this one cracks. All you have to do is be careful when you open it. Sounds crazy but it works so well it was worth it to try a second one. Only other drawback is that it is heavy. I still get the benefit of it being thin. The whole reason I switched to an iPad was the size and the ability to leave it in my bag at the airport when there's not a tsa precheck line available. Working out perfectly!!

Got the iPad Pro and I love it. But I needed a keyboard. Apple keyboard was probably the best, but I wanted something more. That was when I found this keyboard. It really does turn the iPad into a real laptop. The keys are great and I love just love the multiple color backlit keyboard. This keyboard has lots of hot keys which is also great. When I use this, no one can tell it's actually an iPad and not a MacBook. You can't go wrong with this case!

I picked up Apple's keyboard when I bought my iPad Pro and it went back to BestBuy inside of a week. I replaced it with Zagg's Keyboard Case and absolutely love it. I have had it a couple of months and have not had to charge the keyboard yet. It is backlit with 7 or 8 choices of backlighting colors. I noted during my research that a lot of people complained about the weight. It is heavy but mine is sturdy and I don't mind the extra weight. It reconfigures quickly between keyboard, stand and case and best of all it was $40 less than Apple's version.

I spent a good amount of time researching which keyboard and protective cases were the best for my 12.9" iPad Pro before I came to the conclusion that this is the best one out there (right now). The stand-by battery time is excellent, there is no lag between typing and display time (because it uses Bluetooth instead of the smart connector), and it protects my iPad from physical damages. The fact it makes it look like a laptop is an added bonus. Highly recommend!
