The Delonghi EM450 arrived nearly completely pre-assembled. The only remaining assembly/prep was removing the packing tape and flushing the system before use. I’m glad I didn’t skip the flush step based on some of the concerning scents I detected during the flush process. Other than flushing, the only other step required to prepare the device was to fill the 57-ounce water tank, which I also hand washed before use. The machine requires a nearby AC outlet for power and be has a moderate counter space footprint.
The EM450 performs a quick self-diagnosis when powered on. Once the LEDs stop flashing, the machine is ready for use. Coffee grounds are placed inside the handled porta-filter which has two insertable metal filter basket inserts. A handy scoop with a tamper on the other end is provided to make filling the basket easier and more accurate. The two metal filter inserts are sized for single or double cup servings. They insert into the porta-filter which is then inserted onto the machine with the handle on the left, rotated outwards towards me and locked in place with the handle facing front. I then simply push a button for one serving or two and wait for the coffee to be dispensed. The pressure gauge allows me to monitor pressure in real time as coffee is prepared. The machine stops dispensing automatically once the selected amount is dispensed.
The taste and quality of the dispensed coffee is great. The temperature isn’t burn my tongue sizzling hot, but is deliciously hot enough for my tastes. Several factors can play into overall taste, but my experience with good quality, properly ground, espresso blends provides me with a smooth creamy cup of espresso with bold flavor and good crema. The machine has a milk frother can be used for more drink options. The machine can’t accommodate large cups, and I struggle to fit anything larger than 8oz mugs under the nozzle. We use small espresso cups when drinking it solo and making espresso shots to add to other coffees or teas.
The machine is easy to clean and maintain after use. The simplicity and ease of use along with simple maintenance serves my needs perfectly. I’ve tried much more expensive espresso machines in the past, but they proved to be overkill and were annoyingly complicated to use and maintain. I’m not a barista or coffee connoisseur. I simply like a good cup of coffee. I don’t need a bunch of fancy features and programmability that I will seldom use. This Delonghi is beyond sufficient for making tasty and quick stand alone espressos or espresso shots. It has everything I need and nothing I don’t. I find it almost as quick and easy to use as a K cup machine and I’m more than happy with the results.

This De'Longhi espresso machine fulfills its purpose in simple terms as it includes what is needed to prepare an espresso coffee at home and its many variants. It has a sleek yet compact design that doesn't use too much space in the kitchen.
The box includes the espresso machine, a portafilter, two filters for single and double espresso, a tamper that is also the coffee measuring spoon, and an instruction manual in different languages.
The espresso machine is made partly of plastic and partly of stainless steel, on the front side are located the buttons for power, preparation of single and double espresso, and the milk frother, as well as the pressure gauge that measures the pressure at the time of preparation of espresso. On the right side is the knob to activate and deactivate the steam wand that is located next to where the coffee is prepared and is movable, this allows that, after using the machine and cleaning it, it can be placed on the inside so that it does not get in the way and/or get damage. At the bottom is the drip tray that has a metal grid, this tray is removable to place cups or taller containers if necessary. One observation I can make is that this drip tray grid is easily scratched when using porcelain cups, it does not cause me conflict but aesthetically it does not look quite right. Regarding the water, on the back is the water tank with 57 oz. capacity, it is easy to remove and refill, it can also be easily cleaned as it has a lid that opens just enough to be able to insert a cloth and clean in depth.
The performance of the machine is quite good, reaching the ideal temperatures to prepare espresso quickly. The extraction pressure is sufficient, 9-bar. The operating instructions are clear, the buttons are well-signaled and it is easy to clean. The brewing time is pre-set and has an auto stop, although this can be changed and the brewing time can also be controlled to taste. Milk drinks can be prepared with its easy-to-use steaming function.
Although the manual clearly explains the concepts of espresso preparation and its variants, the care of the device, certain settings, cleaning, and possible solutions to problems that may arise, I believe that knowing a little about the preparation of a good espresso, to the taste of each person as this could be subjective, is a determining factor in getting the most out of this espresso machine. The point is that, despite not having a display timer to measure the time, it is possible to control the espresso preparation time to find the ideal ratio to obtain the desired result. In this respect, it is clear that the choice of coffee and the fineness of the grind are a great differentiator, as well as the addition of a scale to measure the coffee ground and a metallic tamper can make the experience more pleasant. Preparing espresso coffee can become an art without exaggeration and adding one or another accessory can lead to enjoying an endless number of combinations of coffee beverages. What I want to say is that although the machine fulfills its purpose, by itself it could not deliver extraordinary results. It is important to explore the types of coffee, the grind, the flavors, the altitude, the region where it is grown, as well as the measurements in grams and milliliters of the different variants: cappuccino, latte, flat white, American, etc. Also, the different types of ratios and the consequences in the final result that affect its flavor, concentration, cream flavor and consistency, milk vaporization, and even how with a milk frothing pitcher you can make drawings in the coffee. This doesn't mean that in order to buy this machine, which I think is a good product without a doubt, you have to be an expert, it means that acquiring a machine in this price range that provides interesting features, would be a good excuse to learn a little to enjoy a good espresso and why not, become an espresso artist.
For the price, design, and what this machine is capable of doing, I can recommend it.

Review of De’Longhi Lines Classic Espresso Machine
To start, “the” De’Longhi Lines Classic Espresso Machine (EM450M) out of box looks slim and neat look, giving that air of professional coffee maker.
With four push buttons, with pressure gauge display at front panel, then on the side with visible frother wand and dial all in metallic, it create like coffee connoisseur ambiance in small size.
Specific to functionalities, at front panel has:
- 1 Button for Single Espresso
- 1 Button for Double Espresso
- 1 Button to Power On/Off
- 1 Button to Steam or Descale
- Gauge Display
Then on the side include a dial to froth milk, and at side movable wand.
From product description, De’Longhi Lines Classic Espresso Machine extract espresso with a 15-bar pump delivering 9-bar extraction, auto-stop based on type of coffee. It use specific temperature control technology “Thermoblock”, for perfect temperature.
The package includes:
- adjustable drip tray
- tamper and filter basket for single and double espresso
- portafilter
Now, the process of making the expresso is similar to any other process with the same category of machine. But being specific to De’Longhi Classic Espresso Machine, to start after power one, it takes about 2 min or so to be ready, then less than a min to have the espresso extracted.
To steam the milk for capuccino, it takes about a min to warm or get ready and with the frother dial can make the nice foam.
In term of flavor, the first couple of expresso I made felt quite light watery, naturally this depend on the type of beans, but having used Peet’s Brazilian, and compared espresso made from a different brand with same bean, it felt short to the expectation.
But after several time of having repeated, it can feel smooth and deep bold flavor. On side note for when it is brewing, it create that brownish foam at the top as good espresso machines would do.
Going back to functionality, it can adjust the programming to make single or double espresso larger or not. The process is simple by pressing the single or double espresso button.
Then making the milk foam is not very different from simplicity. All needed is first to warm the machine, then place the wand in the milk container, and turn the frother dial.
In all of these steps, the gauge needle is good guidance to know the temperature.
What I wish it were better:
1. The hot water/steam nozzle within the silver wand is made of rubber. - For being a rubber but work with hot temperature, I feel bit odd of it while it goes to the liquid that I consume.
2. Material: the entire machine is made of plastic, feels as low quality machine. Also during placing the portafilter, need to be holding with another hand such that the machine doesn’t move in occasion.
3. The Portafilter is plastic as well. For one used to solid and metal one, doesn’t have the sense of holding good one.
4. Water tank:, it doesn’t have a handle or similar, it force to grab with both hands and bit awkward during process of removing the tank and placing back.
Aside of the observations based on personal preference, it does acceptable good espresso, easy to have creamy and foam milk for that moment of break.

BEST Espresso Machine Ever

I’ve drank espresso and other espresso drinks (latte, cappuccino, cold brew) for decades, and have bought them. I’ve wanted an espresso machine of my own for a really long time, but was intimidated about being able to make what I wanted. So this machine is just perfect! I’ve made at home exactly what I’ve bought for years, at the same or better quality, but at a lower price.
This machine is really easy, and the instructions are very well-written. The instructions even describe how to make lattes and cappuccinos, and how to froth the milk. I couldn’t be more satisfied. The machine doesn’t take up much counter space either, and it includes an attached water tank in the rear.
I think this espresso machine is perfect for the beginner, as well as the home barista. If there is anything to master, it is making sure the espresso bean grounds are tamped enough into the portafilter (the handled part that holds the grounds during brewing) and the technique to froth the milk. Both activities are ‘mastered after doing them 2-3 times.
It comes with two different-sized metal filter inserts, one for a single espresso shot, and one for a double shot. There is a plastic scoop included for grounds; one scoop for a single espresso shot and two for a double shot. See the picture I have of the pressure gauge, as it shows the optimal steam pressure. When you tamp the grounds tight enough the needle of the pressure gauge lands in the optimal zone so even during brewing, you can judge the quality / strength of the resulting espresso. The steam nozzle has two positions, one for making steamed milk, and one for frothing milk.
If I would have known it was this easy, I would have bought this a long time ago. I have peace of mind that the DeLonghi name has been around for a long time and is known for the quality of their espresso machines. The only ‘Con’ is the plastic scoop / tamper. When tamping, it does tend to torque (twist); at some point I’ll likely but a metal one. Really, everything else is great.

--- SETUP ---
The setup was quick and simple. The espresso machine is a single unit. Remove from box, connect, and fill with water. From here, turn on the machine so that it can start heating up the water while you remove the wrapping from the
--- FEATURES ---
Customizable presets in single and double shots, pressure gauge display, 15-bar pressure pump, removal drip tray for taller shot glasses and easy cleaning, removable 57oz. water tank, frother with 2 settings.
--- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS ---
This is my second espresso machine, and it is definitely an upgrade. One of the things that I enjoy about this espresso machine is just how simple it is to use. After putting coffee grind in the double filter and tampering it, just insert the handle, choose your shot, and allow aromas of goodness fill your kitchen.
While the espresso is being served, I pour some oat milk in a cup and mix it with my creamer of choice. Then, I take the cup and place it under the steaming wand to steam my milk! Once everything is prepared, I mix both into my favorite mug and deliciousness unfolds.
The only thing that I have to say about this machine to consider, is that the product is light. Though that sounds like a positive, when connecting the handle to the machine, it’s hard to lock in properly without having the machine shift. There is no comfortable place to hold the machine in place while locking it, so it’s always a slight struggle.
--- APPROVAL ---
When all said and done, this is a great introductory espresso machine that is versatile, easy to use, and great at what it does. Its small footprint makes it an ideal and easy recommendation for new home-espresso makers.

Amazingly Simple Espresso Machine

I was initially drawn to this espresso machine's unique design. The pressure dial, with its subtle steampunk style and metallic finish, adds a nice touch to my kitchen.
Beyond looks, the functionality is well-thought-out. The removable drip tray is great for accommodating larger cups, especially when I'm making iced lattes. The removable water tank is conveniently located, and the water level indicator is a nice touch. The included portafilter with two filter baskets means I can easily adjust for single or double shots. The machine is also user-friendly, with intuitive buttons.
When it comes to frothing milk, this machine does a solid job. The steam wand heats up quickly, and the two texture settings are genuinely useful. I've been able to create both silky, steamed milk for lattes and a nice, thick froth for cappuccinos. Even with almond milk, which can be tricky, it produced a decent foam. Cleaning the wand afterwards is quick, which is a definite plus.
The brewing process itself is straightforward. The heating system gets it up to temperature quickly, which is great for the mornings when I'm in a hurry. I preheat, prepare the portafilter, and engage the brew cycle. The pressure dial provides helpful feedback during extraction. The espresso is consistently rich and strong, with a good crema. So far, it's been pulling shots at optimal pressure, and I appreciate the ability to personalize my shots.
Overall, this espresso machine is easy to use, easy to clean, and consistently produces high-quality espresso. I use it daily, primarily for iced espresso, and I'm satisfied with its performance. The stainless steel body feels like it will last, and the included features, like the removable drip tray and water tank, make it a convenient and reliable addition to my kitchen.

Compact Without Losing Functionality and Quality

We've had D'Longhi Espresso machines before and we never disliked any of them, but maybe because we are getting older and have become more critical about this type of machine, we decided to look for a more compact one as how much space they take is very important to us. This offers that compactness, but most importantly it is that you lose nothing in terms of functionality when compared to bigger ones.
Like other high-end Espresso, the result is comparable to what you get in the best coffee shops. I got the perfect shot just out of the box. No especial preparation, no learning curve involved except for the milk frother wand which can make either steamed milk or smooth velvety micro foam. To be more precise here, when I say out of the box, please bear in mind that you need to prime both the machine and milk frother before you use them.
Very smooth tasting espresso shot, especially when using high quality roasted coffee beans that have been freshly grounded. Don't expect great results with low quality beans. This machine is excellent, but it doesn't seem to do magic although it will probably make a better espresso even with the lowest quality beans. The 15 bar Italian pressure pump helps deliver that perfect shot each time. Not much of a learning curve here and you can brew either a single or a double espresso.
Overall, I rated it five stars, but not everything is perfect. One of the things that I was disappointed at was the tamper which is made of cheap plastic. Really? I can't understand why. But for the price and efficiency, it is a great buy and both my wife and I recommend it.

This DēLonghi Linea Classic Espresso Machine is very simple, convenient, compact, and useful. It is easy to make an array of espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes.
In the box:
The DēLonghi Linea Classic Espresso Machine comes with the water tank and all necessary parts to the machine, two filters: 1 cup and 2 cup, and the PortaFilter, the scoop/tamper, and the instruction manual.
Setup:
I was quite pleased with how easy setup was on this manual espresso machine. The included instructions were easy to follow. I was able to make everyone a round of espresso’s and cappuccino’s with no issues.
Features:
The features that stand out to me the most are the ThermoBlock technology, which insures that your drink is at the perfect temperature, the one or two shot option, the frother is adjustable to either Hot Milk to Cappuccino. One steams the milk and the other froths it. I also love the large dial on the front that is a real time pressure gauge. You can see the pressure so that you can perfect your espresso. This manual espresso machine is a 15 bar machine. The cup tray is removable so you can put larger cups in the tray. It’s also so easy to clean. The machine itself has an auto stop on it and the presets are great to have so your espressos are made to perfection.
Summary:
This machine will get a lot of use in my home. We all love our coffee in various ways. I am learning how to make new coffee recipes as friends and relatives come to visit and put in request. I feel like a new barista with this DēLonghi Linea Classic Espresso Machine.

Easy-to-use And Elegant Machine

For the past week, I've been testing the DeLonghi Linea Classic Espresso machine. Overall, I find it to be an easy-to-use and elegant machine that comes with all the necessary tools for crafting perfect espresso.
The stainless steel and chrome finish of the DeLonghi Linea provides a stylish and high-end appearance to my kitchen counter. Some of the most compelling features include the look, feel, and operability of the buttons, steam knob, and pressure gauge. The portafilter and filter baskets feature exceptional craftsmanship, to provide consistent pressure for optimal extraction. Also, I loved the convenience of the removable water tank.
In terms of performance, the Linea heated up rapidly and generated hot steam within seconds of pressing the steam button. For espresso brewing, it similarly reached operational temperature and pressure quickly with just a press of a button. Whether brewing a single or double shot, it consistently produced some of the thickest crema I have observed from a consumer-grade machine. Every shot of espresso it produced was tasty, fragrant, and consistent in texture. Additionally, this product is very easy to clean- from coffee grounds being easily removed from the filter to the portafilter that can be cleaned simply with a stream of water.
With that said, I would highly recommend this espresso machine if you are looking for a sophisticated, yet compact product that brews high-quality espresso.

Easy to use, Easy to Clean, Great tasting Espresso

This is my second espresso machine, the first one I had was also De’longhi but was a cheap model and was made of lots of plastic. Even though it was cheap the espresso it made was fantastic. This model of De’Longhi seems like a much better build and looks very nice on my counter. The only thing you will need when you open the box is coffee, milk, water, and a cup. De’Longhi gives you two different cup options, one cup or two. I just use the two cup one because I like espresso and found that one isn’t enough for me.
Setup was straight forward and was more just putting the pieces in place. I did a deep clean of everything before using. Make sure you follow the instructions to avoid frustration. When you initially turn on the machine you need to wait for the lights to stop flashing to make a cup of espresso. When you use the frothier you need to wait until the light is solid before it will work properly. Also you need to clear the frothier line of water before frothing milk. Also the steam is very hot and I burned my finger once on it, also I tried to adjust the frothier while using and touched the metal for the frothier and burnt my hand a second time. This is no fault of the machine but all on the users being me. So just be mindful not burn yourself like I did.
When I made my first cup of espresso it did not taste great, but that was because the grounds I used were older than I thought. I bought some new espresso and the taste is fantastic! Even without milk it was very creamy and smooth. I used half and half with the frothier and it easily doubled in size and made great froth for the top of my espresso. The frothier is easy to use and easy to clean. You can you easily pull of the metal end off the frothier and rinse it out. Then you can wipe down the rubber part that is under the metal frothier end. As for the rest of the machine I usually just dump the grounds and rinse everything and wipe down the machine with a towel. Easy to use and easy to clean, perfect for anyone!
I gave four stars because I thought the pressure gauge would allow you to manually adjust the pressure of the machine. I was incorrect and it’s basically there just for looks, I think a clock or something more useful would have been better but it does add to the look of the machine.
Overall I’m very happy with this machine and the coffee it produces. I love how simple and easy it is to use and how great tasting the espresso is. I can’t wait to have a family gathering and make espressos at home for everyone!

I got this is my very first espresso and cappuccino machine not completely sure how difficult it would be. I was very happy to find out it's not as difficult as I thought it was to make your own cappuccino or espresso.
I found myself leaning more heavy towards cappuccinos my local schnucks has quite a good selection of espresso and to make a cup you basically are making an espresso and then frothing 100 ml of milk with the cappuccino machine. It's a little bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it you're your own cappuccino barista.
My wife also enjoys the cappuccinos she's just not fond of the process so usually I brew them up for the two of us and they're pretty yummy for homemade I'm surprised how good they actually are. I now have my Keurig coffee machine as well as this expresso and cappuccino machine.
I love the stainless it looks high-end even though the price is fairly reasonable for what the product is. It does take a little extra space on the countertop but I don't mind. For me the espresso is just a little too strong which is why I prefer the more sweeter cappuccino.
The machine is super easy to clean once you're done I personally like the stainless I find it easier to clean than plastics. I would highly recommend this to anybody as a first time espresso and cappuccino maker if you're already on the fence.

I’ll start with the design and appearance of this amazing Espresso machine. It is built like a tank and looks amazing on my coffee bar. The machine is so simple and easy to use and operate, and everything works flawlessly.
The unit heats up quickly and there is almost zero wait time for an incredible smooth and foamy espresso drink. The coffee is incredibly strong and robust and I couldn’t be happier. The frother wand is adjustable and makes for a wonderful top layer to the brew. I have used it with commercial creamers, almond creamers, and heavy whipping cream. All of them came out wonderful. The tip is removable for easy cleanup.
Be careful with your cup sizes, as there is not a lot of clearance between the base of the unit and the dispenser. I would stick with 3 ½ inches tall to be safe.
I have only used the double shot basket, but it does include a single shot basket. I like my coffee strong and it is plenty strong.
As a note of caution, the water tank comes with a stopper installed that will not hold water. Be sure to remove that plug prior to filling it up and installing it, as it is not leak proof with that stopper.
This is a fine machine for a very reasonable price. It looks amazing and works very well. I like this better than other models I have owned.

Okay, so I gotta say, this De’Longhi Linea Classic Espresso Machine is totally awesome. As a coffee lover myself, I’m always trying to make my drinks taste better and quicker, and this thing does the job. It’s made with stainless steel, so it looks super fancy in my kitchen and matches everything. The quality feels legit, like it’s gonna survive my morning rush for years. The instructions they give you is pretty straightforward, but don’t forget to prime it first—I almost did lol
One of my favorite things is the pressure gauge on the front. It’s cool ’cause you can see if your espresso is gonna be perfect or not. Plus, it can froth milk (or like almond or oat), which is great for lattes. The water tank holds alot, enough for like 4 cups before refilling, and it’s removable which make filling it up simple. Cleaning is easy too—just wipe the stainless steel with a cloth and the cup tray adjusts up and down? Such a nice touch for big mugs or tiny espresso glasses.
I’ve gotten so many compliments on it already and I’d totally tell anyone whose into coffee to get one. Only thing is, sometimes the steam wand drips a little after use, but whatever. For real, if you want cafe-quality drinks without leaving home, this machine’s worth it.

Me and my coworkers absolutely love our new espresso machine. We have started in a cubicle that is not being used and it’s really close to an outlet. I’ve added some cups, coffee and creamer and we have an entire barista section. I’ve had one of these before so I know exactly how to use it and making my 1st cup of coffee was super easy. I like the easily accessible water container, the lightness of the ground coffee container strainer, and the milk steamer even works just as well as my other others. My only concern is that it has no stability or suction, and when I am opening or closing, where the coffee goes, it moves the whole machine side to side. So I find myself putting unnecessary amount of pressure on the whole barista to firmly open and close that section. Make sure to leave a cup under the steamer with a little bit of water to keep that wand, clean and reminding myself to clean it entirely Before we leave for the weekend so that when we come back on Tuesday, we can start a fresh cup of coffee.

This machine creates rich and flavorful espresso at home. The sleek design looks great on my counter. The pressure guage is nice but it lacks numbered markers. Sadly after a week I had to reset the machine because it wouldn’t pull a shot. I hope this isn’t a reoccuring issue. For my next machine I’m eyeing a manual one like the flair to avoid electronics issues. Still, when it works, its great.
