It takes a little time but once the program understands your speech patterns, the errors are few and far between. Take the time to set tbis program up properly and it Will be worth your time. Just a little bummed I saw this product for much cheaper a few after I purchased.

First let me start with the pros. The Dragon is well worth the money, it didn't take long at all to recognize my voice, speech patterns and dialect, and it was extremely easy to install. The con is the ease of use. Having said that, it is not that hard to figure out. It just takes a little time and practice. I just wish the instructions had been slightly more upfront and detailed. I think the Dragon will be a useful tool when I am working on my family ancestry.

Dragon has outstanding potential when applied to a variety of functions that require extensive typing. It is discouraging considering the tediousness and repetitive nature of the software's "Learning" process. Perhaps that's why Dragon sends periodic emails asking me if I want or need training support. I bought the more expensive version and am disappointed.

The software is a pretty straightforward setup. It takes about 30 minutes to get it setup and initially trained to your voice. I've only been able to use it for a few different reports, but so far I'm pretty happy with it. The main reason I bought the pro version was because I can record my voice on my cell phone when something comes to mind and then use the software to transcribe it later.

Great to use in an office setting. Time effective for sending emails and creating memos/letters.

I use Naturally Speaking to enter client data in spreadsheet and other customer tracking programs and for writing psychological evaluations. I can train it on specific terms used in psychology, I can add words from other reports. No repetitive motion injuries!

Very user friendly. I purchased the Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 Premium - for college lectures. Along with Dragon I purchased an essential voice recorder. Beneficial for note taking!!

i am disabled and cannot use my hands. this program allows me to type at the same speed and sometimes faster than others. without this program i wouldn't be able to even write this review. :) i love it.

I don't know how this product could get less than a 5 star rating. As an author, and typing as fast as I think, this product doesn't really slow me down. It takes some getting used to, speaking your thoughts aloud, but the best function for me (as an author) is the Read That function. My writing is smoother because of it, and I hear what my work actually says instead of what I think it says. Priceless! About the dictation, though, it's far better than what came with my computer. I'm so glad I didn't listen to a review that said Dragon was no better than Microsoft's dictation that I tried and find seriously lacking and not worth my time. This is a tax right off for me, and I thought it would be a frivolous purchase, but turns out I'd pay twice as much for Dragon 12! Buy it! You won't regret it!

I tried this software 10+ years ago. Was ok. Now, it is simply amazing. Even though I have a lung disease and speak on short breaths, Dragon was able to understand me 95% of the time. It was simply great. I am in a room with a slight echo and it still is able to type what I have spoken. I downloaded the android app and used my 7" tablet as a mic also. I really enjoy using it. I have typed most of this revue using Dragon. AWESOME SAUCE! <-- not typed by Dragon.

Makes working on pc much easier. Since I have carpal tunnel it speeds things up for me and eliminates tying errors.

I purchased Dragon premium vers 12 for my daughter. She has cerebral palsy which affects her motor skills, but Does not affect her speech. It is GREAT! She uses it for school Assignments and for email - anything where typing is required - even Facebook.

Takes a little getting use to the menus but overall the product performs as advertised, speech recognition is pretty accurate, and you have a choice of different types of headsets you can use with the product which is a plus.

Quickly learned how to dictate letters which was my primary use. I do have to correct names, but since most of my letters are repeat customers, this will get better with use.

This program works pretty well. I am still learning the commands. I am sure with a little time this will become the program I was looking for for my hands free typing needs.

This software has worked really well at recognizing my words and learning new ones. I'm very impressed by how easy it is to use.

This product would be much better and more useful if it were able to transcribe tapes, CDs produced by any voice. Since Dragon needs to be trained to understand a voice, it is not useful for this purpose.

My job involves writing notes for every client appointment. I was looking for a way to make the task less tedious. Dragon 12 is much more accurate and faster than previous versions. I'm not seeing ridiculous word substitutions (although I have to admit, it was always good for a laugh) and it doesn't hang. I can speak in full sentences and watch it appear on the screen. Now I don't avoid doing paperwork because I know I can zip through it painlessly!

bought this for my mom who is not a fast typist. takes a while to set up but it does the job.

My son is entering college soon, and he has a lot of applications to type out. With Dragon it is a snap!
