On my last trip it took me out of the way by three miles directing me into a upscale neighborhood and dead end road that I had to back out of. I bought this unit to avoid situations like this. Now, I will no longer trust it for anything. What if it was a low overpass that it missed?

Posted .Creating a vehicle profile with correct deminsions will route you accordingly. The device will also notify you when route restrictions are unknown and you need to adhere to street signs. In most cases routing inquiries can be resolved with settings/vehicle profile corrections. In rare cases where there is a legitimate map error those can be reported. Garmin's map data is provided by an outside vendor. All map information, including addresses, businesses, speed limits, and trucking data, is gathered through a number of different agencies including local governments, principalities, etc. There may be an occasion where something is not reported correctly or wasn't able to be changed in time for the new version of mapping to be released.
We have provided an Error Report Form on our website allowing you to submit any findings regarding missing or incomplete locations or streets in the mapping.
The information will be sent to our cartography department and to the mapping vendor. This helps us provide our customers with the most accurate mapping possible.

Also took me down difficult back roads. Also seems to have a glitch during dusk hours constantly flashing between dark and bright screens. Could not return due to Best Buy’s new 15 day return policy.
